Fifty-Nine
Extended Family
Jennifer walked into the study in a lace eggshell white dress, fiddling with her cuffs to make sure she could hide her wand in her sleever. She glanced up at Severus, only to notice he was glaring at the paper again.
"Severus, honestly! You should be getting ready for the wedding!" Jennifer protested, then peered in the nursery. "Quintin, I want you dressed in your dress robes and out here in five minutes and thirty seconds."
"Yes, Mum!" Quintin replied.
"Put the paper down, Severus," Jennifer insisted. "I don't know why you look at them when all it's done is get you irritated."
"After everything you did to set up that team and finish those articles and all the work you put in. You are barely mentioned in any of these articles, and that is only if they bother to mention you at all!" Severus growled.
"Oh come, now, Severus, you really are being quite petty. You know as well as I do that you put the modifications on the recovery potion and came up with the Last Resort potion, which is now legal even if it is highly restricted. Icarus was the backbone of the immunization potion. Team leader or not, the only one I can truly claim is altering the lunar therapy potion, and I share that acclaim with Ivano," Jennifer said.
"Even then, he is mentioned more..."
"And he is quick to put them in their place during any interviews," Jennifer said. "Besides, Severus, I really don't care about the acclaim. I had more than my fair share in my youth, as you well know..."
"Those weren't for intellectual pursuits. They were all for that reckless heroism that kept cropping up. It is not the same thing. Next time, I'm taking Dumbledore's advice and recruiting an all women's research team," Severus swore.
"I am not about to get into all of that again. Are you going to get ready for my brother's and granddaughter's weddings or not?" Jennifer said. "I'll leave without you if I have to."
"It isn't as if you're any more ready than I am," Severus said.
"What do you mean of course I'm ..." Jennifer touched the back of her dress gasped. Severus smiled thinly. "Oh, no you don't, Severus Snape! If you..."
"Done!" Quintin said, walking out of the room in his dress robes, cutting off the threat.
"You should have given him another thirty seconds," Severus sneered, getting up to change.
"I swear, I will get even if you do what you're thinking of doing..." Jennifer warned.
"Yes, but it may still possibly be worth it," he decided, going to the back. Jennifer squinted in his direction, but reluctantly turned her attention to Quintin's hair.
"Knock knock," the voice of Icarus said without knocking.
"Oh, good morning, Icarus. Severus will be out in a few minutes, we're just about ready to go," Jennifer said.
"Not a problem," Icarus said, floating through the desk. "Look at all of those newspapers. Is he still going on about that?"
"Yes, don't you dare get him worked up again," Jennifer said, waggling her finger at him.
"I fixed your buttons. Do you want me to hex them so he won't be able to touch them again?" Icarus asked helpfully.
"Don't tempt me," Jennifer grinned.
"Don't you dare touch those buttons!" Severus shouted from the other side of the curtain.
"I say that all the time but it doesn't matter!" Jennifer shouted back.
"Are you cross?" Quintin asked.
"No, darling, we are just playing," Jennifer reassured him.
"You play really loud," Quintin commented.
"Ick, if you say one word..."
"No, I'll behave, I know there are a lot of fallibleness of mortality, Jennifer. I know better than to comment on how loud or quiet you play... especially after Quintin goes to bed," he added for good measure.
"ICK!" Jennifer snapped.
"Now, she is cross," Icarus explained to Quintin, who covered his ears. Severus walked in with a sigh, still fussing with his cuff links.
"Can't you two not be at each other's throats even for five minutes?" Severus protested, then saw Quintin holding his ears. "Especially in front of Quintin."
"I don't have a throat," Icarus reminded him.
"Icarus, don't give me any reason to regret leaving you in charge of the castle for two weeks," Severus warned.
"I won't, Severus."
"And if you feel a mood coming on, don't hesitate to call Zack. Rogue, you call him if he doesn't," Severus added, the portrait nodded in agreement.
"We should get going, Severus. It's really too late to call Hermione back now, and we promised we'd try this," Jennifer said.
"I feel as if we're leaving a teenager in charge of the house for the first time," Severus admitted as the three of them walked to the Doorlift.
"Yes, and we both know how well that went," Jennifer teased, both of them grabbing one of Quintin's hands on their way out of the castle.
Icarus floated up to the observatory deck, looking out the window until they passed through the gates. Then he sank through the floor and went over to the Merlin painting, uncovering it. He waited patiently for some time before Merlin finally blinked.
"Oh, hello, Icarus! Sorry about the delay, but I'm in the portal and on my way back," Merlin explained.
"I thought you might be, but I needed to warn you about something very important," Icarus said. Merlin furrowed his brows.
"Are you quite certain it is something you are supposed to be warning me about?" Merlin asked.
"Yes, quite certain. You see, today is Maurice Craw's wedding day," Icarus explained.
"What? Oh, no! That means that girl is coming," Merlin scowled. "Thank you, Icarus. I'll begin battening down the hatches the very moment I get back to the shop, and explain to Ashley why it has to be done."
"See you soon," Icarus said, covering the painting up before going about his rounds.
When Severus Portkeyed Jennifer, Quintin, and himself to the front of Craw Mansion, he immediately heard Jennifer groan. Glancing over to where the guests were assembling, Severus exhaled with exasperation when he realized that she was looking over at where Fleur's relatives were sitting, including her sister's family as well as several younger, platinum-haired cousins, some of them with their hoods up. Severus reached up with one finger and ran it from Jennifer's neck down the center of her back. Jennifer gasped, realizing that meant that every single button on the back of her dress was undone.
"Severus Snape!" Jennifer squealed, quickly grabbing her wand to fix the problem, but he caught her hand, leaning over to her ear.
"If you think for one moment that my eyes are going to be anywhere but on you today, there will be a reckoning," Severus warned her quietly, then let her hand free to fix her buttons.
"Just what are you guys doin'?" Lucky asked with her hands on her hips, standing next to Dale. That's when Jennifer realized just how many of the guests had heard her squeal and was looking in their direction.
"They play really loud," Quintin explained. Jennifer covered her mouth and turned bright red, while Dale had to walk away to keep himself from losing it altogether.
"Yeah, they do," Lucky snorted. "You know what, I think you need rescued, Quintin. I'm taking him over to the pen. Leu and Hadrian are over there helping."
"Oh god, it looks like Dad's starting early this wedding," Alicia warned the rest of her siblings in the seats.
"Yeah," Thomas said, looking over at his inlaws. "I think I know why. Alex, go hand your father some of that charmed punch so that Jen-girl settles down."
"Looks like Dale beat us to it," Alex said.
"It isn't going to matter... once he gets started that's it, you know," Alicia warned.
"What are they all talking about?" Viorica whispered to Ginger, but Ginger didn't have a quick answer.
Dale walked back over to Severus and Jennifer and offered him a punch.
"Here you are. Corey made it; one Anti-charm punch," Dale said, and Severus took the glass. "Thomas had him make a barrel of the stuff."
"There you see? Nothing to worry about," Severus said, sipping it calmly. "Now, why don't you go find Rose and Natalie and see how they're doing?" Jennifer gazed at him skeptically.
"Not until I find you a seat," Jennifer said, pulling on his sleeve and leading him over to where Harry and Ginny were sitting in front of a large group of red-heads. Harry looked up in surprise, wondering about the annoyed expression on Jennifer's face.
"Harry, can Severus sit with you? I swear, you're the only person I trust with him today," Jennifer said.
"Oh, sure," Harry said, and he and Ginny immediately moved one over so that Severus could sit down.
"Good. Now I can go find Rose and Natalie," Jennifer decided.
The moment she walked off, a pair of familiar laughs rang out from just behind them.
"Harry just got recruited to be a babysitter," Fred said.
"How much do you think that pays these days?" George wondered.
"That would depend on if there's an extra charge based on age or attitude," Fred decided.
"Don't you two ever grow up?" Severus asked curtly. "Your hair is thinning and you still act like children."
"We're not the ones who needed the babysitter," George pointed out.
It was just as Severus had decided that the best course of action was to simply ignore them. That's when he noticed that Harry was doing everything in his power to keep a straight face and was failing miserably.
"Don't you start," Severus said icily.
"No, no, I won't," Harry said, rubbing his eyes to try to stave it off, but finally gave up and started laughing, making the twin start up again. Severus turned around and began plotting how to get even this time. He noticed someone closing in and looked up as Mike walked over to them.
"Hi Mike, nice robes," Harry said. "How are you?"
"Bored with paperwork," Mike hinted. "But never mind that. Did Delia come with you?"
"No, Jamie is looking after her at the house," Harry said.
"Oh. All right," Mike said and walked off again.
"So what do you think, Severus?" Harry murmured.
"About what?" Severus asked distractedly.
"Think he's ready to come back?" Harry asked softly. "At least he seems to have calmed down. I could always start him on training duty, since we have a few new ones coming in... see how that goes."
"He will be ready when he stops avoiding the inevitable," Severus mused. Harry gazed at Severus questioningly. "Once he is able to confront what happened between Don and Delia and his part in all of it, it will be a sign that he's willing to face reality again." Harry nodded thoughtfully at that assessment.
"Yes, you're probably right," Harry agreed.
"What are you doing back here, Severus?" Anna asked as she walked past to get to her seat. "Why aren't you sitting up front with the rest?"
"Jennifer has me in detention," Severus explained expressionlessly. Anna grinned.
"Did you deserve it?" Anna asked.
"Probably," Severus admitted. "But I will get even." Anna rolled her eyes.
"You are so impossible at weddings! Harry, keep an eye on him," Anna said, before she started to continue on. One of the twins sniggered.
"He's behaving so far, but I wouldn't count on it lasting," Harry warned with a chuckle.
"Fortunately, if Anna is sitting down, it means that Lunette is probably ready. That implies we're just about to start," Severus concluded.
Upstairs in the Craw Mansion, Maurice, dressed and ready, was standing at the window with a book in his hand, attempting to calm his nerves. There was a gentle knock, and Maurice saw Earham Singh in the doorway.
"Let me guess. Shakespeare Sonnets," Earham ventured, closing the door behind himself.
"You saw the binding," Maurice accused him, bookmarking it and putting it in his suitcase to take with him.
"Sonnet 116," Earham concluded with a goblinish smile. Maurice smiled sheepishly and nodded. "You've certainly come a long way from the young boy who used to sneak college literature books out of my room, Maurice. But Shakespeare is so old fashioned. I wonder what Janus Edgar would write for a moment like this?"
"Janus Edgar hasn't been writing. Lately he's been too stressed and depressed to write," Maurice admitted.
"A lot of poets do their best work when they're stressed or depressed," Earham pointed out.
"Well, not me," Maurice said. "My inspiration comes from nature, my family, love, and hope. It certainly doesn't come from evil, explosives, and murdering members of one's own family... there is no greater crime to a Craw than hurting one's own family!"
"Yes, I know," Earham replied quietly.
"And now I'm going to have a brother-in-law who is capable of that level of atrocity," Maurice murmured.
"The Ministry has issued a kill-on-sight fugitive order on him," Earham pointed out somberly. "I doubt you'll have to worry about that matter for long."
"There's been a kill-on-sight order on Garvan's grandfather for years, Earham. I don't see anyone making good on that," Maurice retorted.
"True, but even in literature there's a difference between a killer out for vengeance and a criminal mastermind. Don is heading towards what can only be a bad end... hopefully before he can destroy any more lives."
"I don't see how knowing that fact makes the situation any better," Maurice brooded. Earham was reminded of how many times he had seen Thomas with such an expression. He walked up to him and gently put his hands on Maurice's shoulders.
"Maurice, today is your wedding day, and right now your full attention needs to be on that. Let those concerns wait until the two of you get back, and spend the next couple of weeks focusing on her needs and nothing else," Earham advised. "Family comes first, does it not? Including Elizabeth."
"I know," Maurice sighed, forcing himself to shake off his dark mood. "You're right, the next two weeks is just about Beth." Earham smiled and patted his shoulder.
"Come then, let's get you married," Earham insisted. "I'm sure your Father is already chomping at the bit to get started... as am I. It's not every day that a goblin gets to be Best 'Man' at a wizard wedding."
Severus glanced up and noticed Maurice and Earham stepping out of the mansion, catching up to Garvan and Cain, who had already been waiting for them at the bottom step. The two grooms and best men then proceeded up the aisle towards a platform that had been constructed facing the ocean where Lunette Vallid stood. Ambrose stepped up on the left with Earham, and Max Starling stepped up with Cain on his right. Dale, on the keyboard, made sure he was in perfect view of the aisle, because it was decided quite early on that Maurice's ringbearer, Quintin, would dictate the pace of the proceeding, along with Mickey Pyther, who was attempting to match him as best that he could. They were followed by Dawn and Destiny... who was glad she was almost old enough to get out of the flower girl role. Veronica Greisley and Emily Applewood came next, both just happy to have been asked, followed by Winnie Brim and Hope, then Amber and Gloria.
"Sure I can't talk you out of this? I know how to make a quick exit," Mike heard Corey whisper to his daughter.
"Too late, Dad. Besides, this is going to be better for everyone, trust me," Natalie murmured back, giving him a reassuring smile.
"Let's go," Beth whispered to her brother. "I'm ready."
Mike simply nodded, and as everyone rose, solemnly escorted his sister down the aisle. He found himself thinking of his mother at that moment, wondering if she would have come had she been alive... probably, he decided. Their grandfather certainly would have, and even their father, although Mike could imagine what his reception would be in this particular crowd. Now he had to stand in for all of them, and he was certain it must have showed in his expression, for the guests seemed more solemn than usual for a wedding. Perhaps everyone could feel the weight of it, he thought, finally arriving to gently give his sister's hand to Maurice, who gave him a smile and nod in return.
Behind them, Mike couldn't help but notice that Corey also looked on edge... worried even, glancing up at his friends hovering above him on broomsticks as if attempting to reassure himself. Danny, Taylor and Doug were flying around as discreetly as they could, along with Commander Bellamy and several veteran volunteers, who made up for the other three's interest in the wedding by being more interested in the security detail.
Corey didn't want to lose his daughter already. He was wondering if she was jumping into this... despite the constant reminders from his wife that he had married her at the exact same age. He handed his daughter's hand to Garvan, trying to smile warmly at him despite his uneasiness. He would simply have to trust that they knew what they were doing, he thought to himself as he stepped back into place.
"I have been asked by the fathers of both of the grooms to keep this short and sweet," Lunette told the guests. "All right, you all know I added the 'sweet' part," she admitted, getting a soft chuckle from them in response. "So, instead of a long winded speech, I've decided to recite a poem from a local artist instead. It's called Together, by Janus Edgar."
Oh no. Vallid, how could you do this to me? Maurice was thinking at her very hard. But Lunette wasn't looking in his direction. It was the poem he wrote Beth after her father had died. Beth smiled at him warmly, leaning her head on his shoulder happily.
"Great challenges lie before me,
A path filled with adversity,
But with love in hand,
I will make a stand,
Wand in hand, follow me.
We shall join to defend our love,
Working together hand in glove,
Our families one,
The future begun,
All deeds done fearlessly."
Lunette turned to them then with a subtle mischievous smile, well aware of Maurice's embarrassment at the whole thing.
"Marriage is one of the greatest commitments of one's life, and it does come with many challenges and trials, even in the best of times," Lunette said. "But with love, hard work, and honesty, a marriage will give you the strength to see you through even the worst of times."
Jennifer, still still sitting up front holding Rose's hand, glanced through the crowd to see Severus gazing steadily at her. She smiled at him lovingly.
"Elizabeth Regina Coventry, do you promise to love, honor and cherish this man, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, for all eternity?" Lunette asked solemnly.
"I do," Beth said happily.
"Maurice Thomson Craw, do you promise to love, honor and cherish this woman, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, for all eternity?"
"I do," Maurice said serenely. Lunette nodded and took one step over towards the other two.
"Natalie Aine Willowby, do you promise to love, honor and cherish this man, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, for all eternity?" Lunette asked.
"I do," Natalie grinned.
"Garvan Ludovic Gamban, do you promise to love, honor and cherish this woman, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, for all eternity?" Lunette asked.
"I do," Garvan said firmly.
"If anyone knows any reason why these couples should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace?" Lunette asked, gazing searchingly off in the distance, both towards the forest and even a quick glance towards the cloud line. In fact, the tension was unusually strange to the point that everyone there felt it.
"Let's have the rings then," Lunette said at last.
"It's a little early," Quintin informed her.
"We can over look it this time," Lunette said quietly, taking the first set of rings. "These rings are the outward symbol of the love you have pledged to each other, and a reminder of your devotion, and with their exchange you seal your vows. Beth?"
"By the power of this ring, my heart, and my soul, I pledge my life to thee," Beth said with a smile and put the ring on his finger, then Maurice did the same for her.
No one had missed the fact that Lunette had picked up the pace when she noticed that the tension had not let up. Lunette then moved to Natalie and Garvan, taking the rings from Mickey's pillow and smiling encouragingly when they finally got to Garvan and he repeated the phrase.
"By the power of this ring, my heart, and my soul, I pledge my life to thee," Garvan said with unmistakable conviction.
"Then, by the powers invested in me, I now pronounce you Wizards and Wives," Lunette said. "Well, kiss them, already."
On their side, Beth took the initiative and kissed Maurice lovingly. They had missed at first how Garvan had firmly but very quickly kissed Natalie, then spun around with his wand in hand, touching it to his neck to increase the volume of his voice.
"I have something to say," Garvan announced. Lunette, Maurice, and Beth took a step back from him, while Natalie held onto his hand firmly. "And it's something I want everyone listening right now to hear." Garvan glanced back at Lunette, who simply nodded encouragingly at him.
"Natalie Aine Willowby is now my wife... and since my last name wasn't the name I was born with, I've decided to go with Willowby as a last name rather than to have Natalie live with that lie," Garvan began. "It doesn't change who I am. I am still Peter's son, and I'm still Ludovic's grandson. Regardless of my personal beliefs on my family's politics, I am still a member of the Bagman family, and as such, we were taught that family comes first. As it happens, my new family has the exact same convictions, and in many ways, a much stronger conviction to family than even I have known before this point. As such, I have a declaration to make.
"This family is now under my protection; and I don't mean just the Willowby family," Garvan said for good measure. "I also mean the Brim family, and our grandparents Professor Snape and Professor Craw, and all their natural and adopted children and grandchildren... including Alexandria Clemmons and her family. I also include my great grandparents Thomas and Fleur Craw, Uncle Maurice, Aunt Beth, and her brother Michael. And last, I include Uncle Augustus and Hadrian. Expect this protection to be permanent, because my conviction in this matter is not going to waiver... especially if anything unfortunate ever happens to my wife. Let's not continue this blood feud, please, because I really don't think either of our families want to go there. Thank you for your time."
Garvan took the spell off and immediately found Natalie in his arms, embracing him tightly, while behind her, Corey was feeling quite guilty for not trusting his daughter's judgment in the first place. With a single glance at each other, Thomas and Peter stepped up together to congratulate them.
"Damn, he is going to make one hell of an Auror," Harry realized with enthusiasm.
"Yes, I think he probably is," Severus agreed, getting up to find his family.
Above the cloud line, sitting on an invisible broom with an Invisibility Cloak on, Ludo looked down at his grandson and new wife thoughtfully, pondering the ramifications of his grandson's statement.
"Hm," he uttered with resignation, slipping back through the clouds before the patrol had a chance to detect him.
Before they had a chance to be swarmed on the platform, Beth tugged on Maurice's sleeve.
"We're his aunt and uncle now?" Beth murmured to Maurice.
"Great aunt and uncle, actually," Maurice corrected.
"I'm going to need a who's who just to figure out who all I'm related to," Beth decided, earning another kiss from Maurice.
"You knew what you were getting yourself into when you married me, Mrs. Craw," Maurice reminded her, Beth smiling happily at him in response.
Maurice looked up and was a little surprised that his sister had gone over to Garvan and Natalie first, until he noticed she had two phials in her hand.
"You do know how to use these, I hope... just a very small sip. Those two phials should last you a while no matter how enthusiastic you are about each other," Jennifer was advising Garvan. Severus stepped up behind her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I hope you've both discussed this fully before accepting those phials," Severus said when he noticed what they were doing.
"Yes, we have," Garvan said with a serious expression. "Natalie is going to wait a year on her Auror training so we can take care of this matter. It's the best way to protect Nat right now, honestly, so call it insurance if you will. It isn't as if we weren't already planning to have one sooner rather than later, and with everything that happened to the Coventry family, I am not taking any chances."
"I understand your position," Severus said. "By the way, welcome to the family, Garvan Willowby."
Jennifer smiled warmly at Severus then looked back at Garvan.
"Welcome, Garvan... you know, I think you're going to fit right in," Jennifer added.
"Thanks, it means a lot," Garvan said, pocketing the phials before walking over to speak to his father.
"Where's Quintin in this mess?" Severus asked.
"Francis and Alicia's already collected him," Jennifer said.
"Good, because there's this little matter of my getting even..."
"I need to see Maurice and Beth," Jennifer protested. "Are you coming?"
"Delaying the inevitable again," Severus warned her, but followed her over as she went to hug her brother warmly.
"I'm so happy for you Maurice!" Jennifer said enthusiastically. "And what a lovely ceremony," she added mischievously.
"Don't say a word," Maurice protested. "I'm already miffed that she recited that without asking me or at least warning me..."
"About what?" Thomas said from behind him, making him jump. "Who's got you miffed?"
"Oh, it's nothing, Dad, he just thought the ceremony was a little short," Jennifer improvised.
"Short is how I like it," Thomas retorted. "But I do wonder about her poetry selection. Has anyone seen Vallid?"
"Over there talking to Anna, it seems," Severus ventured.
"Good, because I really want to know why she went with the Clogyrnach instead of one Edgar's sonnets. They're not that racy," Thomas complained, going over to find her. Maurice stared after him with a dropped jaw as he went into the crowd.
"I've gotta get out of here," Maurice said fervently. Beth laughed at him.
"I'll be a good wife and support your decision," Beth said mischievously.
"I'd start with the bouquet, sometimes the younger girls clear out after that portion is done," Jennifer suggested, frowning at some of the platinum-haired young girls now mingling in the crowd. Just then, she felt an odd breeze on her back and quickly uncuffed her wand long enough to put her buttons back in order again.
"Yes, let's do it. Let me go find Natalie," Beth agreed.
Standing off to the side, Ambrose and Mike were both watching Maurice and Beth with glum expressions. While they weren't really standing together, they were standing close enough to each other that only one person at a time could go in between them to get by; most of the guests simply went around as they made their way to the punch table. Ambrose and Mike had glasses as well; both of them long emptied, too busy watching the couple still hanging out near the platform to do anything else. They were also both contemplating how long they had to stay before being able to politely make an excuse to leave.
There was movement by the platform again, and Beth got back up on it, gesturing to Natalie who did the same. That was when the two of them noticed they had bouquets in hand and were being crowded around by women. The two of them sighed, still unaware of each other, both hoping that it was a good sign it was almost over. From where they were, they could barely hear the sound of Beth reciting the spell.
Beth threw the bouquet, and they both blinked when it came their way. Both of them folded their arms, wondering if they were going to have to get out of the path of ladies chasing after it, when the bouquet curved and landed on the ground in between them. Mike stared at it with frown, while Ambrose shrugged and scooped it up.
"Looks like the spell botched, Beth! Sorry girls!" Ambrose shouted out, hearing a loud 'Aw!' from the girls, who then clapped when they realized Natalie had hers still. Ambrose wasn't paying attention at that point, walking over to hand the bouquet back.
But Mike was staring at the ground, frowning uncertainly. Was it truly a botch, he wondered. Or did it behave like that because the person who it was meant for hadn't come to the wedding? Mike turned and walked off the property, Disapparating.
Nobody had really noticed when Mike left.
They were too busy watching Natalie, who had cast the spell and thrown it straight out into the seats. Instinctively Lucky reached up and caught it without even looking at it, stealthily putting it under her plate.
Neither Severus nor Jennifer missed it. They also didn't miss the fact that neither Lucky or Dale sitting beside her seemed to be surprised; they simply kept on talking. Glancing at each other, Severus and Jennifer began to walk over with suspicious expressions on their faces.
"Parents, twelve o'clock," Dale murmured.
"Yeah, I should have guessed they saw that," Lucky murmured back, pretending to be interested in her chips and salsa as the two of them walked up.
"I don't suppose there's something that the two of you want to tell us?" Jennifer asked, squinting at her.
"Yeah, I was able to double up on some classes to get back on track," Lucky said with a shrug. "I just got to finish my thesis to get my BA, and I can get that done over the summer. So we were thinkin' a Wizard type Christmas wedding in New York... Dale's parents can rent the hall, you guys pick up the tab on the rest. What do you think?"
"I think I'm about to lose another daughter," Severus said flatly.
"Nah, you're just getting more extended family," Lucky told him with a grin.
