"Castle," her voice is stern and even though he should probably be scared, he's not. "What the hell is this?"
Castle stands up from his office to walk to his partner in the living area, curious as to what she's referring to.
"What?" he asks when he's within sight and stops when he sees the life sized Chewbacca standing right next to Kate Beckett, his partner and wife. "Oh."
"Yes, 'oh'!" she exaggerates. "What the hell were you thinking?!"
"I-uh… happy May fourth?" he tries and she crosses her arms. "Oh come on! You gotta know it's the official Star Wars day!" She raises her eyebrows and he groans.
"And where did you think this would fit? The bathroom next to R2-D2?" she questions and he shakes his head.
"No, I was thinking in my office right by the window," he explains and she rolls her eyes.
""Of course."
"I can… send it back if it's too much," he says with a disappointed voice.
"Nuh-uh, I'm not having your sadness on my conscience, you can keep it, just promise you won't put it in our bathroom," she says and he nods. "Nor our bedroom," she quickly adds and he smiles at her.
"Deal," he says as he walks up to her with a big smile on his lips.
"Good," she says and once he's close enough she's standing on her toes in order to peck his lips. He can feel her smile on her lips and he leans down to kiss her lips again.
They part and Castle goes to start moving the statue with the sack card under it. He's careful not to bump into something as he runs Chewbacca through the loft and into his office where he places it with care. As he makes sure everything is absolutely right he can hear his wife come into the office and he doesn't turn around until he's finished. What he sees shock him.
"Is that..?"
"Yes," she says with her cheeks turning red.
In her arms is a smaller statue than the one behind him, but just as great. Little Grogu in his metal ball! Castle squeals as he takes quick steps towards her.
"Oh my god he's so cute!" he says and she chuckles.
"Yeah, I thought so too and just knew you'd love it," she says and bites her lip as he looks into her beautiful hazel eyes. "May the 4th be with you," she says teasingly and he couldn't be more proud that she had known exactly what day it is.
"May the 4th be with you too," he says with a kiss claiming her lips.
Kate can't stop the pride spreading inside her, she knows how much the movies mean to him and she had hoped he would like the fact that she knew just as much. Looks like it was a success.
The end
