Amanda reached her house and went straight to her bathroom to fill her bath. She took off her clothes, wrapped herself in her dressing gown, and walked out to the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea. She returned to the bathroom, put on some music on her phone and she climbed into the bath and let out a huge sigh as she could feel the stress and tension begin to disappear.
Around 30mins later her phone rang. Smiling when she seen it was Nick she answered. Hi baby she answered. Hey you he replied, did I wake you? No, she replied, I'm just soaking in the bath here. OK he replied, we're just at a garage so Fin can fill the car up, I'll be leaving the station in about 20 minutes, you still want that pizza? Amanda smiled, absolutely she said. Ok he replied, I'll be home soon. Good she said, I can't wait. Me neither he replied.
Amanda was just finishing drying herself off in the bedroom when she heard the door close. She shouted out I'm in here Nick, and she heard him walk over towards her. He stood at the doorway and smiled at her. I can't believe you're still awake he said. She stood up, pulled her pyjama bottoms up and walked towards him. She wrapped her arms around his waist tightly and kissed him. He brought his arms around her shoulders and returned the kiss. I told you she said, I was waiting for you, she pecked his lips, and my pizza. He chuckled and kissed her again. Let's go eat bonita, then time for bed. Ok she said, as they walked towards the kitchen. Half an hour later they were both sitting on the couch cuddling. Nick looked down at her and saw she was starting to doze. Hey my love, time for bed, come on, as he moved from the couch. Ok she sighed. They went into the bedroom and as Nick went to the bathroom Amanda switched the bedside lights on. He returned and started to undress, Amanda went to the bathroom and returned to find him pulling the bed sheets back. They both climbed into bed. Lying beside each other she snuggled into him and lay her head in his chest. She lifted her head and started to kiss his neck, then moved around to his lips. They lay kissing for a long time, before they drifted off to sleep.
Nick awoke to his phone ringing. He reached for it and answered, Hey Nick he heard Fin say, sorry man but we've got another victim. Nick opened his eyes properly, OK he sighed, where are you? I'm just leaving for the scene now he replied, OK said Nick, text me the address and I'll meet you there. He hung up the phone and looked at the time. 1.45am. Oh man he sighed lying on his back again. He felt Amanda stir and turn to face him as she put her arm around him kissing his arm. He smiled as he stroked her hand. He lifted it and kissed it and he hear her mumble what time is it? Too early for you he said, Sorry baby he whispered, I've gotta go meet Fin at a scene. She opened her eyes a bit more, same case or different? Sounds like the same one he said back. As he raised himself up on the bed he leant over and kissed her, go back to asleep my love he said, I'll see you later. She pulled him closer and kissed him more. Love you she whispered, he leaned back and smiled, Love you too mi reina. He kissed her once more then left for he bathroom. He got dressed and returned to the bedroom to find his trainers. It was too late or too early to put on his suit and dress shoes, he was staying comfortable and warm tonight. He looked back to the bed and smiled at a sleeping Amanda, he walked over and kissed her on the forehead then left the room. He went out to the kitchen and made a coffee in his to go cup then got into his car to meet Fin.
A few hours later Nick and Fin were back at the station. What time is it? Sighed Nick. Just after six yawned Fin. Oh man, groaned Nick, this is going to be one long ass day. Yep agreed Fin, and it hasn't even started yet. I'm trying to decide whether to head home for a couple of hours sleep or head to the bunk room he added. Nick nodded, he had been thinking should he head back to see Amanda or just stay here. He was missing her already. Lost in his thoughts he was brought back to the present by Fin throwing a piece of scrunched up paper at him. Hey lover boy, Nick shook his head, sorry what was that Fin? Fin laughed, you thinking about your girl? Nick smiled, well I am now he quietly chuckled, I was thinking whether to head to the bunk room myself or just sleep here. But I'm hungry too he sighed. Me too said Fin. Ok said Nick, how about we go get some breakfast round the corner, then head back here and get some sleep? Sounds like a plan said Fin. I wonder if Liv would mind stopping by my place to bring me in a change of clothes. Nick thought, huh, good point, I need some too. You text Liv and ask her that and tell her our plans, I'll text Amanda and ask her to bring me in some. Good plan Nick, yawned Fin again. They both reached for their phones and sent a text to the 2 women. OK Amaro, let's go said Fin. As they reached the doors of the diner Fin got a call from Olivia. Nick went on ahead to get them a table. Hey Fin she said, sorry Liv I didn't mean to wake you apologised Fin. She chuckled, no don't worry, you didn't wake me, a little 15 month old called Noah did. Oh Ok he replied. SO, she went on, what time have you two been in from? she asked. Around 2am he replied, same guy Liv, this time the vic lucked out, and is still awake to tell us what happened. Ok she said, I don't mind calling by your's and picking a few bits up. Tell me where I need to go. He laughed, well thankfully I have stuff freshly washed so they're hanging on the dryer in the spare room. Ok she said, and I'm assuming Nick is sorted. Yeah he said. We're just going to go and get something to eat then head to the bunk room for some sleep. And you two are sure you don't want to go home to do that she asked. Yeah, he said, I don't think we are fit to drive anywhere to be honest Liv. Well if you're both sure she said, I don't mind you two going home again for a few hours sleep. He smiled, Thanks Liv but we're good. OK she said, one of us will come get you both in a few hours. Thanks again he said, and he hung up. He followed Nick into the diner and joined him in a cubicle. Liv wanted us to go home for a few hours sleep he sighed, but I don't think I'm in a state to drive anywhere he said, Nick yawned, me neither he replied. They placed their order and Nick's phone rang.
If that's not Amanda or Liv, don't even think about answering that said Fin. Nick chuckled as he lifted his phone. It's Amanda he said smiling. Ok you can answer then Fin joked, I'm off to the bathroom. Nick smiled and answered the phone. Hey baby he heard her say. Morning bonita he replied. You be at it all night she asked. Yeah he sighed, me and Fin are just getting something to eat then heading to the bunk room for a few hours sleep he said. I did think about coming home for a bit, but neither of us are fit to drive he sighed. Ok she said, you want anything else brought in? Just you he replied, I miss you he smiled, So you don't want fresh clothes then she joked, oh no I need those too he said quickly. And work shoes he added, I just stuck my trainers on last night. OK baby she said. They chatted for another few minutes, he told her about the new victim, and Fin re-joined him at the table. Fin shouted hi and Nick put the speakerphone on. Hi Fin she said, you doing OK? Yeah alright he replied, just tired. Well you two make sure you get back to the station soon for some sleep she said. I don't want my 2 boys getting sick from exhaustion. Fin laughed, ok mom he said, we'll go to bed soon. Nick laughed as he took her off speakerphone again, ok he said, our foods on it's way and you've gave us our orders, I'll let you go for your run. OK baby she said, see you later he said smiling, see you later shouted Fin, will do she said, Love you. Me too replied, and they hung up.
9am and Amanda and Olivia arrived at the station at the same time. Morning Amanda said Olivia. Morning smiled Amanda. Well you look a lot better this morning said Olivia, Amanda chuckled, it's amazing what a full nights sleep can do isn't it? I don't know what that is anymore laughed Olivia. Noah hasn't learnt that trick yet. Amanda laughed as she lifted Nick's bag out of her boot. She then reached for his wool coat she had bought him, from the back seat. I see you got a message too then said Olivia. Yeah she replied, I see Fin got you she laughed. Yeah. That's a good arrangement we have of having each other's keys she said, although I'm sure you didn't have that problem this morning? Amanda blushed, no, I just had to reach into the wardrobe for these ones. They walked to the elevator chatting about Noah and the case. As they entered the squad room Olivia heard her phone ringing. She sat Fin's stuff on Nicks desk and ran into the office. Amanda put her bags down and switched her computer on. She draped Nick's coat over her chair, and walked to the staff area to put the kettle on. She walked back over to her desk, lifted Nick's bag, then Fin's and walked up to the bunk room. She opened the door quietly, and heard the snores from Fin and Nick. She smiled. She walked in and sat the bags down at the end of each bed. She walked over to Nick, stroked his hair, leant over and gave him a quick kiss on the temple. He had stopped snoring now, so the only sound as she left the room again was Fin snoring loudly. She was walking back down the stairs as Olivia walked out from her office. I was wondering where you went she said to Amanda. Amanda smiled, I just left their bags at the end of their beds she said. They sleeping? Oh yeah she laughed, most definitely. The snores from them both is something else. Olivia laughed. We'll leave them to sleep for another couple of hours she said softly, they need it.
Amanda walked back to the staff area, tea or coffee Liv? Umm tea she replied, I've already had 2 coffees this morning. Tea poured they carried them over to Amanda's desk and sat down. Olivia told her about the phone call and how it was the hospital saying the victim wanted to speak to someone. We'll wait for Carisi to come in she said, then me and you will head to the hospital to speak to her. They both looked over Nick and Fin's notes from last night while drinking their tea. As they done so Carrisi arrived in. Sorry I'm late Lieutenant he said, got caught behind a fender bender. No worries Sonny she said, me and Amanda are just going over Fin and Nick's notes. He looked around for the 2 men, Where are they? Oh they're up in the bunk room she said. Amanda brought him up to speed as Olivia wrote a few notes down in her book. Ouch, so late night for them, then early start. They must be shattered. Yeah they were replied Olivia. They've been up sleeping since 7 I think, so we'll give them until 11 hopefully. I'll put a notice on the door to warn the other guys to keep quiet.
She then got to business. OK Sonny I need you to go and collect the CCTV from the 2 houses across the street. One home owner has phoned to say he has left his with his neighbour as he is away on business today. Amanda and I are heading to the hospital to speak to the victim again. Olivia made an announcement over the squad room that no-one was to disturb Fin and Nick in the bunk room until they got back. And she placed a do not disturb notice on the door.
The 3 of them then left for the cars. Driving to the hospital Olivia said, so, you two do anything nice last night? Amanda smiled, not really, I was too tired I got home and had a bath, Nick brought some pizza in and he sent me to bed when I started to fall asleep on him she laughed. What about you? she asked. Oh pretty much similar Olivia sighed. I brought pizza in, Fin has a lot to answer for she added laughing. Put Noah to bed, Had a glass of wine, then I fell asleep when I went to get changed she laughed. Rafael came in and found me snuggled up in the duvet. I don't even remember getting into bed she laughed.
