Shoyo covered his face in embarrassment. "Do you have to walk me to training every night?"
Atsumu batted his eyelashes. "I want to protect you from the villains, Sho."
"What did I say about calling me that?" Shoyo gritted his teeth.
"Sorry, my little Ace of Crows," Atsumu amended. "You still haven't told me why you're so fidgety about that one."
"I can't tell you yet," Shoyo waved him off. "I'll see you after training, okay?"
Atsumu sighed. "Why can't I sit in?"
"If we ever spar, I don't want to spoil my special moves," Shoyo answered.
"I bet you got some good ones," Atsumu teased. He started walking away and waved. "Bye, Shoyo!"
Shoyo rolled his eyes. "Bye, Atsumu." He walked into the training center. He immediately darted over to Bokuto, who had his fists on his hips. "Bokuto! What are we doing today?"
"Woah, hold on, there, little red," Bokuto laughed. "We're planning something big for tonight, since your midterms are in a week."
Shoyo looked around to see the usual people, along with Haiba and third year Morisuke Yaku, whose quirk was Blown Fuse.
"Alright, guys!" Sawamura shouted from his corner of the room. "The Big Three have decided to do something cool today." Everyone gathered in front of him. "You're dividing up into teams of two to face one of us." The first years glanced at one another. "Don't worry, it won't be anything like your first hero training. I heard that didn't go over well, and I've decided to make it a little bit easier on you. This'll be exact practice for your practical midterms. And don't worry. Even though we Big Three aren't as strong as the pro heroes you'll go up against, we're still pretty good."
"That wasn't what I was worried about," Tsukishima muttered to Yamaguchi, who chuckled.
"We've put you with partners that we think you'll do well with," Oikawa continued the explanation. "They go as follows: Yachi and Tsukishima." Yachi high fived a reluctant Tsukishima. "Yamaguchi and Lev." Haiba pushed Yamaguchi in the back.
"And last but not least, little red and Kageyama," Bokuto finished off. Shoyo glanced at Kageyama. "You'll also be against a member of the big three that would be hard to defeat based on your power sets. Tsukki-Tsukki and Yachi will be against Daichi. Yams and Lev will be against me. And little red and Kageyama will be against Oikawa."
"We'll be at the entrances to the training grounds, so when you guys are ready, meet us there," Sawamura instructed. He waved for the other two of the Big Three to follow him. They left with the loud bang of the training hall's doors.
Shoyo glanced at Kageyama again, thinking that they'd need to come up with a strategy. But he knew Kageyama, he'd already have had some self serving plan that Shoyo was just a pawn of. Instead, he looked around the room at other things. One of the things just so happened to be Kenma, who was at the door of the training building.
"Kenma!" he shouted, waving and trotting over to Kenma. "You're here! Why are you here?"
"Kuroo invited me," Kenma replied in his ever so monotone voice. He hadn't looked up from his game. "He told me to 'come watch his protege whoop all of the others'...um...butts."
"Joke's on him, I'm going to beat everyone else!" Shoyo pronounced, chest puffed out.
"Sure," Kenma mused, putting on a hint of a smile (which, according to Nishinoya, was the biggest smile he'd given since preschool). "Whatever you say, Sho."
Shoyo immediately shrunk. "I'm sorry, can you stop using that nickname?"
Kenma shrugged. "Okay." He glanced up from the game for a second. "Good luck, Shoyo."
Shoyo chuckled. "Thanks, but I don't need it!" And he was off.
A/N: here we go fellas :)
