Okay, so a lot of people were upset with Bella's choice. Everyone said that she needed to grab Edward's cellphone or leave him a note. Maybe that's my fault, but hopefully this chapter will explain things. Or make you even more angrier. We will see! Enjoy!
Chapter Sixty
My head was killing me. I groaned as I forced myself to sit up. I opened my eyes, staring down at the floor trying to get my bearings straight. Then suddenly, everything hit me. I tried to stand, but I had a large, metal collar around my neck that was attached to the wall. My hands were handcuffed behind my back. This wasn't good.
"Finally you're awake," A voice said, "I was worried I had hit you a little too hard. You've been asleep for a while."
"Did you let Alec go?" I asked.
"Don't worry, he's safe." He said.
"He better be or I swear to god, you'll pay," I snapped.
"I would never kill my own nephew, he has potential," Caius said, "I released him. I don't have a use for him quite yet."
"Why are you doing all of this?" I demanded, "What do you want? Money? I'm sure I could ask Edward to give you a ton of it."
"This isn't about money. This is about power and respect," He said, "For far too long, I've been disrespected and denied what's rightfully mine."
"So what do you want? Why do you need me or Alec?"
"I needed my nephew to get you. You're the more important piece to Edward. Once he realizes you're gone, he's going to panic and do anything to get you back. With you, I can finally get my hands on Aro's businesses and New York. I can rid the world of the Cullens. They've been a nuisance for far too long."
"Edward will never give you any of that," I spat, "You're wasting your time. I'm not that important to him."
He laughed, "Yeah right. He's head over heels for you. And since you're carrying his baby, I'm sure he'd be more than willing to do what I want."
My eyes widened, "H-how do you know I'm—,"
"I had a little friend help me out," He looked over his shoulder, smiling, "Come on out darling, I'm sure Bella would love to see you again."
My jaw nearly hit the floor, "T-Tanya?"
She smiled, "Surprised?"
Caius pulled Tanya into a deep kiss. I wanted to puke.
"So, you're a part of this?" I said to Tanya, "How could you do this? You've known the Cullens since you were a kid."
"Yeah, and I've always been treated like shit," She said, "Caius came to me years ago and offered me the chance to be a part of this. At first I declined, but we kept in touch. Things progressed and we've been together for a while now."
"Why do all of this now? Why not do this years ago?"
"Well we couldn't just kill Edward immediately. Then we'd get nothing. We had to wait for him to get distracted. And that happened, thanks to you," Caius said, "I appreciate your part in this. I'd offer you something to thank you, but you won't be alive for very long."
"Just kill me," I said.
"Sorry, but there are a few things we need to do before we kill you. Don't worry though, it shouldn't be too long now." He looked at his phone, "Ah, there's our friend now."
He showed the message to Tanya, who laughed.
"He's so predictable," She said, shaking her head.
"As you said," Caius smiled, "Tanya, be a dear and hold the phone. I want Edward to get a good view."
"Of course."
I couldn't help but shrink away from Caius as he walked up to me. Tanya pointed the phone at us. I tried my best to control my expression; I didn't want Edward to panic even more.
"Hello Edward." Caius said when he answered.
"You let her the fuck go now!" Edward roared, his green eyes were blazing and terrifying.
"I'm sorry but I don't think you're in any position to make demands here," Caius said, "So, I suggest you start speaking with a little more respect."
"Alright," Edward snapped, "What do you want?"
"First, you're going to sign over Aro's businesses to me," He said, "The board members are ready to approve the switch over. So, all you have to do is set up a meeting with William, and sign everything he gives you. Once that is done, we'll discuss my other demands."
"Fine. I'll sign whatever you want me to sign," Edward said, "But I need to make sure Bella is alright."
"Of course," Caius said.
"Bella, how are you?" Edward asked, "Are you hurt?"
"Edward I'm fine," I said, "Please, don't do anything they want. I'll be fine."
"Bella I'm not going to let anything happen to you."
"And just to insure that you won't do anything stupid," Caius said, "Let me give you a little motivation."
Caius grabbed me by the hair and pulled me to my feet. Once I was standing, he backhanded me back to the ground. My head hit the ground, leaving a tender spot and my lip split. I bit the inside of my cheek to keep myself from crying out. Before I had a moment to recover, Caius began kicking me in the stomach.
"Stop!" Edward cried, "Please stop! I'll do whatever you want! Please stop!"
I tried to wiggle away from him, since I couldn't cover my stomach with my arms. I didn't even realize that Caius had stopped kicking me. I was too busy gasping and crying, my stomach rippling with pain.
"Good," Caius chuckled, "I'll be checking in a few hours to make sure that paperwork is signed. After that, I'll go over the rest of my demands. But should you do anything stupid, like not sign the paperwork or try to find us, I'm going to cut her hand off and send it to you. The left one, with the pretty ring on it."
Tanya hung up the phone and shoved it into her pocket. I stayed on my side, trying to catch my breath.
"Now, my dear," Caius said as he kneeled down and patted my cheek, "I'll be back in a few hours. You be good."
They started to walk out of the room, but Caius stopped Tanya.
"You stay with her. I'm sure Cullen is going to do something stupid. I'll text you if he does. You can send him a picture of our friend here to him." Caius said.
"I don't want to stay here," Tanya whined.
"Stay," He snapped, "I'm not telling you again."
Tanya huffed but pulled a chair up and sat down. Caius nodded at me then walked out of the room.
I was still laying on the floor, trying to catch my breath. He kicked me so hard. There was no way the baby survived. I started crying, hunched over, and praying that Edward would save me.
Edward's POV
"We need to fucking find them!" I snarled as I slammed my hand onto my desk, ignoring the pain in my chest.
"We will," Dad said calmly, "We'll find her. Everything's going to be okay."
"Jasper please tell me you've found something," I asked.
"Not yet, but I'm close," He said as he reviewed every camera footage we had access too.
"Fuck."
"We've got it!" Emmett said as he ran into my office, Alec trailing behind him.
"Finally. Good news." I said as I snatched the black booklet from him.
We had spent so much time looking for Aro's book. The one Alec told us about. Apparently Aro had moved it from his home office to a secure location. Luckily, we had Alec, who knew all of Aro's secret hiding spots. Unfortunately, there were a lot of hiding spots.
I was glad Alec was okay. Things could've gone sour so fast for Alec if it wasn't for Bella. I was shocked that Caius would actually take Alec and threaten to kill him. Thankfully, Alec was safe, but now Bella was in danger.
I flipped through the book, reading as fast as I could. Aro kept a bunch of tabs on Caius. He had names in here of people that ran in the same circle as Caius. This was very useful.
"Jasper, I have three addresses here," I said, "Find these addresses."
Jasper nodded, his fingers moving quickly across the keyboard. I continued reading through the book, gathering as much I could.
"Fuck yes," Jasper suddenly said, "I found it! I found them!"
I jumped up from my seat to look over his shoulder. He had four videos pulled up on his computer. One of which was Bella, sitting in a dark room and crying.
"Call everyone. We're leaving right now." I said, pull out my desk drawer and getting out my handgun.
"Edward you need to stay here. You're still too hurt to go running—," Dad started.
"I'm going," I snapped, "That's my girlfriend in there! And if I'm not there something might happen to her!"
I stood and walked to the door, Emmett and Jasper trailing behind me. They wouldn't try to stop me; they knew how important this was. If it were Rosalie or Alice, they'd be right there.
I resisted the urge to pull out a cigarette; the last time I did, I was in so much fucking pain I could barely talk. I needed to keep my head clear.
Tonight, I was getting Bella back and Caius was going to fucking die.
Okay I want to clarify some things that I see I didn't add into the story. I apologize! Okay, so the reason Bella couldn't just grab Edward's phone or leave him a note was because Caius had tapped into the cameras in Edward's house. He was watching her. And Jasper had cut Caius's access to Edward's camera. I thought I had included it but I must not have. Hopefully no one is too upset about that!
