ZAFT: Well, update day again. But we need to set some sort of alarm so we don't forget… ^^'
DarkFoxKit: But we're doing better with it. And… Hmm… Should we tell them or keep it quiet for now?
Takuya: Tell who what? O.o
Andy: I'd say no, you guys haven't even touched it yet. Don't count your eggs before they hatch after all.
ZAFT: Andy has a point. I would say keep it under wraps for now.
Takuya: Did I miss something here?
Andy: *Puts a hand on Takuya's shoulder* Sometimes I envy you, Takuya. I think Kit loves me a little too much.
DarkFoxKit: You got that right, my sweet, little, dear Andy~
ZAFT: Okay… on to the chapter I believe… ^^'

Chapter 60: A Strange Cosplay
Valerie felt like she had been flying for hours. Neither she, nor Gomamon or Dorumon found any signs of Impmon anywhere. Dorumon was trying to use his nose to sniff for Impmon, but it was difficult due to the city's thousands, if not millions of smells.
"Any sign of Impmon?" Gomamon asked as she looked at Dorumon.
"No…" Dorumon frowned. "Maybe we're flying too high. Try going down lower, I doubt Impmon would be high up and announce his presence."
Valerie gave a nod. "Sure." She flew the hoverboard down lower while also trying to stay above the street lights and other things that could knock her hoverboard for a loop. "Will this altitude work?"
"Hold on…" Dorumon began sniffing. "I smell… freshly baked croissants…"
"Really? This isn't the time to be thinking of your stomach," Gomamon groaned. "Besides, fish are way better than bread."
"Let's not argue about food when we have a Digimon to look for." Valerie pointed out. "Dorumon, can you try sniffing for Impmon again? And please ignore the food for now."
"It's not that." Dorumon frowned. "It's the smell that's coming with those croissants. I smell a Digimon with it."
Valerie perked up at that. "Well, lead us in that direction then! It may be Impmon for all we know!"
Dorumon pointed his head to where he was smelling it, and Valerie followed. They soon came up on a bakery shop. They could see a few people walking out with bags of freshly baked bread. Valerie had to admit, the smell was making her hungry. There was one individual, however, that was very short, wearing a trench coat and a hat. The 'person' also had a suspiciously large bulb under the coat, likely to look like a fat stomach.
"Now this is what I call good eating!" The short, 'fat' individual complimented while munching on the croissants.
"Heh… looks like someone wanted to stop for a lunch break." Gomamon grinned.
Valerie frowned to herself. "Dorumon, is that individual giving off the scent you picked up with the croissants?"
Dorumon sniffed before rubbing his nose, almost looking like he wanted to gag. "Oh yeah, that's definitely the individual. I don't think he likes baths."
"Even I can smell him from here," Gomamon remarked.
Valerie gave a bit of a smirk to herself. "I would say we probably found our Impmon then." She then frowned. "But we need to make sure it is Impmon before we do anything else. I don't want to attack what could be a human."
"I have an idea, drop us off somewhere nearby," Dorumon instructed.
Valerie nodded and hovered down close to the sidewalk near a bookstore that was close to the bakery. "Will this work? It's far enough away you can get there without being seen, but close enough to me so we can escape if it is not Impmon."
"Yeah, it should be," Dorumon answered before he got off of the hoverboard. "This shouldn't take long."
Dorumon walked towards the individual that was still snacking on the bread. It didn't take long for the individual to notice Dorumon.
"Huh? What do you want?" The person frowned.
Dorumon drooled, and looked as innocent as possible. "That smells really good… could I have some, please? I'm just a lost Digimon in this strange world… and I'm hungry."
The individual frowned before sighing. "You're lost pal? I know that feeling. Sure, you can have a bite." The 'person' then grinned. "One Digimon to another."
"Oh, thank you!" Dorumon smiled, looking excited.
The individual held out the croissant to Dorumon, but there was a sneaky smirk on this 'person's' face. As Dorumon tried to take a bite, he yanked the pastry away. "Psyche, sucker! I would never give this to you! It's mine!"
Dorumon growled, but now he had an excuse to do what he was going to do next. "You big meanie!"
Dorumon jumped and snatched the hat off of the individual with his teeth, while also ripping his trench coat open to expose the little troublemaker.
"No fair!" Impmon, now revealed, exclaimed. "I was trying to hide, you big idiot!"
The 'bulging belly' turned out to be Dreammon's egg.
"Oh, were you now?" Dorumon asked, suddenly eerily calm, which spooked Impmon. "Well, sorry, but you just lost this game of hide-n-seek~"
Valerie was now floating over Impmon, seeing that he was revealed.
She tried to come up with a plan to get the egg away from Impmon. Let's see… Valerie looked down at Dorumon who was still in front of Impmon. She glanced at Gomamon and an idea began to form. If Dorumon can keep Impmon distracted, Gomamon could try to snatch the egg.
"Gomamon, can you try to sneak up on Impmon to take back that egg?" Valerie whispered to her partner Digimon. "If Impmon is distracted with Dorumon, we can use that to our advantage to steal the egg."
"Hold on, you want me to take the egg?" Gomamon frowned.
"Why not?" Valerie frowned. "If it's a dangerous Digimon, we can't risk it getting back to its owner."
"Valerie, take a good look at my 'hands', and tell me if you think these are good for egg holding," Gomamon stated, showing her very sharp claws.
Valerie winced. "Oh… my bad…" She sighed at that point. "Okay… I guess it's up to me then…"
Unfortunately, Valerie took too long trying to think of a plan. Impmon just shot out a dark fireball that exploded in front of Dorumon, and by extension, her and Gomamon.
"See ya, sucker! You'll never catch me!" Impmon shouted while running away with the egg.
"Damn it!" Valerie hissed as she hovered down. "Get on Dorumon! We need to find that sneak imp!"
Dorumon didn't waste any time jumping onto Valerie's hoverboard, and Valerie quickly took off, trying to catch up to that little Impmon.
"Where is that little Impmon taking the egg to?" Gomamon frowned.
Valerie frowned. "I don't know, but wherever it is, it won't be good for us if the owner gets that egg back."
Dorumon frowned as he looked ahead, seeing a familiar looking building. Please… don't tell me he's going to the Axion Labs...
A tall security guard, though lanky, was moving by an area that didn't have a lot of guards passing by. He wondered if there was any point to all this. The owner of the Axion Labs had beefed up security suddenly tonight, yet there didn't seem to be any cause for alarm. The security guard wanted to just go home. He didn't notice two strange creatures were watching him from the shadows, or that they were approaching him from behind.
Patamon tackled the man's head, knocking him out onto the ground. Calumon flew to the front of the man and caught his chest, trying to keep him from hitting the ground and cause the other security guards to come running over. When the two were sure the man wasn't waking up, Patamon grabbed onto the man's feet and started helping Calumon drag him somewhere.
"We're so lucky this isn't a fat or buff security guard… otherwise I doubt we'd be able to move him…" Calumon grumbled, struggling to keep lifting the man's chest. This would be a lot easier if I was Kumamon, but then I would get spotted right away.
Patamon grunted as he helped Calumon. "I made sure we picked a human who wasn't so fat or buff, but it is still a bit of a challenge…"
They managed to get to a corner where they hoped nobody would check. They put down the man, and began to remove his jacket, night goggles, and whatever ecto gun he was carrying.
"This coat is too tall for even both of us to wear," Patamon noted, before he looked at Calumon. "But it might work if you return to your human form."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Calumon frowned.
"Yes. If you try to use Kumamon, your hands and arms would be obvious that you're not human," Patamon pointed out.
"I… guess you have a point… I just… hope we don't… get spotted…" Calumon replied nervously. Especially by Takuya… I wouldn't know how to explain why I'm in America, let alone Amity Park.
Patamon smiled. "Don't worry. If we're careful, it won't be a problem."
"Famous last words…" Calumon sighed.
Patamon put the coat over Calumon. "There, nobody will see your fractal codes with this over you. Better hurry, we don't have much time."
Under the coat, Calumon let his Digimon form disperse, the fractal code covering his body. While concealed by the coat, Calumon grew taller and became more human in appearance. His hair came back and his white fur disappeared. His clothes reformed as his arms and legs reached normal human proportions, and his ears returned to their normal human shape. Now he was back to being Tommy, but he was still under that coat, which had helped to hide his transformation.
When Tommy was finished, he pulled the coat off, taking in a breath. He noticed his hat had fallen off, and he bent down to look for it. It was hard to see due to it being almost pitch black, and his human eyes couldn't see in the darkness as well as his Digimon eyes.
Patamon picked up Tommy's hat before flying over on Tommy's head. "You better put that jacket on, I'll get you the night goggles."
"Right… thanks," Tommy replied. "But I'm still pretty short, that jacket is too big on me."
"Ah… sorry about that…" Patamon chuckled sheepishly. "But a fat guard would have gotten the same result…"
"We'll just have to make do with what we can then," Tommy sighed as Patamon gave him the night goggles.
Tommy put the night goggles on, having the straps wrap around his head and hat. He was relieved to see the night goggles were still active, and made it much easier for him to see in the dark, even though everything looked red. Next, Tommy picked up the jacket and put it over him. He wasn't kidding when he said that it was too big for him. Half the jacket was on the floor while Tommy was buttoning up the jacket over his body to try to hide it.
"I hope I don't trip over this thing…" Tommy grumbled.
"I wouldn't worry about it. Just pull it up and stuff the lower half into your pants if you're worried about tripping over it." Patamon suggested.
"My pants can't stuff this thick jacket," Tommy hissed.
"We'll have to worry about that later, someone's coming," Patamon quickly said before he flew under Tommy's hat.
Tommy brought up the jacket's hood over his head, hoping to hide as much of his face as possible just as another security guard came over.
The guard looked at the disguised Tommy. "What is the problem? You were not back from your shift in this area. Are you okay?"
"Everything is fine," Tommy answered, trying to make his voice sound deeper.
The guard frowned a little. "You… look like you've gotten… shorter. And that jacket looks a little big on you."
"Do you have a problem with short people?" Tommy questioned, sounding offended. "The jacket got stretched out. I'll be needing a new one."
The guard frowned again, but he brushed it off. The explanation was plausible. "I guess that explains the jacket being too big on you then…" He muttered.
"If you'll excuse me, I must continue my patrol," Tommy stated.
"Right, carry on then. But be careful not to trip over your jacket until you get a new one," The guard replied.
Tommy walked past the guard, and he gave a small sigh of relief. Looks like that worked at least…
When Tommy walked further away from the guard, he whispered to Patamon. "Where are we going, Patamon?"
"Just head to the door to the far right ahead of us." Patamon replied as he pointed, peeking out from under Tommy's hat at said door.
Tommy had to look up for a moment to see where Patamon was pointing at, before he started heading for the door, trying to walk slowly so he wouldn't rouse suspicion.
Andy had no idea how he ended up sitting in Sam's room, past midnight, with Sam dying his hair white, and Gatomon putting neon green contact lenses on his eyes. Andy's normal eye color was green, but they were too dim to match the neon green that was Danny Phantom's eyes.
"You would pass for Danny in his ghost form now." Sam chuckled as she finished with the hair dye on Andy's black hair.
"Not quite yet, he still needs the hazmat suit," Tucker spoke up, who was also there.
"I think Danny went to get one of his old hazmat suits," Terriermon, who was on Tucker's shoulder, stated.
"You know I never really agreed to this, right?" Andy grumbled, he had been pouting the entire time Sam had been dying his hair.
"Well, at least you get to help out your brother with this~" Sam teased. "And you're the only other one who could pass for Danny Phantom if you were cosplaying as him."
"And this can get the ghost hunters out of town if done right." Gatomon pointed out. "After all, wasn't this your idea? With you being a full human, none of their ghost weapons or scanners would work around you."
"This was not my plan," Andy growled in annoyance. "I only made a comment, Danny was the one who decided 'oh, let's dress up my brother to look like my ghost self to fool the ghost hunters!' Besides, what if their ecto weapons still hurt me?"
"We can worry about that later." Sam reassured Andy. "We just have to worry about confusing the ghost hunters for now. And I don't believe their weapons would hurt humans anyway."
"It would be incredibly irresponsible if they had ecto weapons that hurt humans," Gatomon agreed.
"And not to worry, with my holograms in place, I can make a projection of Danny flying around to give you a bit of a break, but it's important we switch between that and you so they have a solid target," Tucker remarked.
"But if their weapons do hurt…" Terriermon paused for a moment. "At least your parents are experts at dealing with ecto stuff, right?"
"Why are you and Gatomon here anyways? I thought you were looking for Impmon," Andy pointed out.
"Ah… well… we split up to see if we could find Impmon, but… we didn't so we came back." Terriermon admitted.
"In truth, we didn't feel comfortable leaving our partners alone for too long, especially at night. We figured if we couldn't find Impmon, we should at least protect our partners in case Dreammon decides to attack," Gatomon informed.
Sam frowned. "So you are thinking Dreammon's egg could hatch? That would… be a disaster…"
"Let's worry about one thing at a time," Takuya spoke up, having been watching Andy's little make-up session. "First, let's get the ghost hunters out of here, then we can worry about Impmon and Dreammon. I doubt Dreammon would be at full strength as soon as he hatches anyways."
Tucker nodded. "Yeah, he would likely be at the baby stage upon hatching, but we don't know if that holds true for artificial Digimon. But let's focus on the ghost hunters for now."
Takuya then looked at Tucker. "What are we going to do about the 'familiar'?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Terriermon chuckled. "You're going to be playing as the 'familiar' of course."
Takuya groaned. "But how?! I'm not exactly winged, with the demonic look, now am I?"
"He means you should just use your Aldamon form," Gatomon explained. "As a Digimon, the ecto weapons wouldn't hurt you very much. They think you're a ghostly entity summoned by 'Invisobill'. Hmm… I don't know why people keep complaining, I think that's a nice name. It's pretty funny, and it makes sense for him. Isn't Bill a common human boy's name anyways?"
Sam chuckled. "It can be, yes." She agreed.
Takuya grumbled. "Great… so Andy and I are the ones who get shot at and hunted down… This is not going to be fun…"
"Well, when you and Andy do get 'shot down', I think that's when you should revert back to your human form," Tucker stated. "Oh, and here."
Tucker tossed a demon mask, and some fake feathered wings at Takuya. "You should probably wear those, so you at least have an excuse as to why they 'mistook' you for Danny's 'familiar'."
Takuya sighed. "Well, it's better than nothing I guess…" He took the wings and mask. "The things I do for my cousins…"
Terriermon snickered. "Isn't that sweet~? Family love~"
Danny flew into Sam's bedroom wall, carrying a familiar looking white and navy blue hazmat suit. He transformed back to his human form as soon as he came in, not wanting to risk bringing the ghost hunters to Sam's house with his ecto signature.
"Well, it turns out I didn't have a spare hazmat suit, so I just grabbed Andy's instead," Danny sheepishly remarked.
"Danny, this is primary white, they're not going to think I'm you if I wear this!" Andy pointed out, holding the arm of his hazmat suit.
"Whoa… you look cool with white hair bro, do I really look like that in my ghost form?" Danny complimented, seeing Andy's dyed hair.
"No, yours actually glows," Andy sighed.
Sam looked at the hazmat suit. "Hmm… I think this can be made to look like Danny's with a little black and white fabric dye. We just dye the white part black and the navy blue parts white."
"Wait, you're going to-" Andy began to say before Sam took the hazmat suit, then walked over to her drawers, before opening a drawer, and took out a spray paint. "Wait a minute-"
Sam began spraying the black dye on the hazmat suit.
"Sam!" Andy shouted.
"What?" Sam frowned.
"I can't take that home if you make it look like Danny Phantom's hazmat suit! Mom and Dad would freak out if they see it!" Andy pointed out.
"Relax, Andy, this isn't permanent dye, you can wash it off later," Sam said calmly.
Terriermon was close to tears with his laughter at Andy's freakout at the idea of his hazmat suit being permanently dyed black and white.
Andy grumbled. "Really wish you said that sooner."
Takuya sighed and shook his head. "The sooner we get this done, the better."
"You sure you'll be okay out there?" Danny asked Takuya. "If those ghost hunters do actually hurt you two, I will have to step in."
Takuya sighed again. "We'll be careful, Danny. If you do show up, you are the one they will go after. We are trying to get the ghost hunters out of town so they don't do that." He then looked back up at his cousin with a bit of a smile. "And don't worry, in my Fusion form, I can take quite a bit of damage. It's not my strongest form for nothing."
"What about that big form you were in before in the Digital World while we were facing Techatamon?" Andy asked as Sam was still dying his hazmat suit. "I think you called it Emperor...gray something?"
"EmperorGreymon, and yes, while that is a stronger form, it takes the Spirits of Flame, Wind, Ice, Wood, and Earth to form, so I can't call upon it so easily." Takuya admitted. "My Fusion form is my strongest form with the Spirits of Flame."
"Did you have those when you became EmperorGreymon during that fight?" Gatomon questioned, looking intrigued.
"No. That's what's so odd about that fight. I am assuming Calumon used his Shining Digivolution on me, which is how I reached that form. But as I said, I am just assuming, so I don't know for sure," Takuya admitted in confusion. "I know I heard someone calling out 'Shining Digivolution' before I became EmperorGreymon, but…"
"But what?" Tucker prompted.
"I was only half conscious at the time, so I don't know what happened," Takuya sighed. But that voice… I could've sworn it sounded like…
"And done!" Sam smiled, holding up a now primary black and white hazmat suit, it was the perfect replica of Danny Phantom's hazmat suit, though it was missing the ghostly glow. "Hmm… I feel like this suit is missing something…"
"What are you talking about? It looks just like my suit, Sam," Danny pointed out.
"Exactly, your suit is missing something too," Sam replied.
Takuya frowned as he eyed the suit before turning to Sam. "Let me guess, you think my Digimon forms might be missing something too?"
"Your Digimon form is already pretty complex," Sam rolled her eyes. "I just mean the suit seems a bit… too simple? … I'll figure it out later. Let's get Andy into this."
Andy eyed the black and white hazmat suit uneasily. "Is this… really necessary?"
Danny grinned. "What do you think, bro?~" He sang.
Danny took the suit from Sam and began to approach his brother. Andy suddenly felt like he was about to be pounced by a predator.
"Danny… why are you smiling like that? … Why are you approaching like that? … Danny!" Andy yelped as Danny came over to him.
"C'mon, it won't hurt, bro~" Danny teased his brother.
Andy yelped as Danny suddenly dropped the hazmat suit and turned himself intangible. Andy almost made a run for it before Danny dived into his body. Though it was impossible to tell due to the neon eye contact lenses, Danny had overshadowed Andy.
"Uh… Danny, was that necessary?" Tucker asked.
"It's just for fun, and Andy looked like he was going to put up a fuss about wearing the hazmat suit," Danny said while in Andy's body before picking up the dyed hazmat suit, and began to put it on.
Takuya shuddered. "I hope you don't do that to me too often…" And it doesn't help my Spirits won't prevent it when it does happen now...
As soon as Danny put the hazmat suit on, he walked over to the mirror and looked at himself. If he didn't know he was in Andy's body, he would've thought he was currently in his ghost form, though minus the glow, and the cold feeling in his chest, and the weightlessness.
"Danny, you can admire 'your' reflection later." Takuya said. "We need Andy for this."
"Yeah, yeah, just wanted this to be what Andy sees when I get out of him," Danny chuckled before he came out of Andy's body.
"Danny, that wasn't funny!" Andy snapped, before realizing he was yelling at a mirror. "Oh… that's me…"
Takuya almost burst out laughing at Andy's little moment. "Wow… If I didn't know it was you, I would swear you were Danny Phantom."
Terriermon fell off of Tucker's shoulder at Andy's reaction, laughing all the while.
Andy was blushing at being laughed at, though he was a bit more disturbed at how much he looked like Danny Phantom if he was wearing the right suit, and the right colors. This feels weird. At least I'm not actually a ghost. No spooky glow around me.
As if on cue, there was a white light behind him to make him look like he was glowing. Andy turned around, seeing Tucker was shining his little PDA flashlight on him. "Did that look more authentic?"
"You better be glad that I don't have ghost powers, or that Dorumon isn't here, otherwise you wouldn't be laughing right now," Andy growled.
Tucker looked nervous. "Uh… It isn't that funny…"
Terriermon was rolling on the ground laughing.
Andy looked down at Terriermon. "I seem to recall a certain minty bunny Digimon sneaking chocolate out of our fridge the other day, chocolate that had belonged in Lopmon's stash. Now who was that little bunny Digimon again?"
Terriermon shut up right after that. "I wasn't laughing!"
Andy looked over at Takuya, who quickly stopped laughing when he saw Andy looking at him.
"Uh… sorry…" Takuya apologized. "Let's… get this plan going then."
"Yes, let's," Andy agreed calmly.
"You know, you do make a great Danny Phantom cosplay," Danny pointed out.
"Oh, no, I'm not Danny Phantom. I'm Invisobill, and I'll announce it proudly to the public~" Andy grinned.
Danny looked nervous. "Uh… Never mind…" Andy is quite scary when he gets mad...
Sam and Gatomon were just watching in silent amusement.
"Okay, now that we've got all of that settled, we've got some ghost hunters to prank," Andy stated with an innocent smile.
Tucker grinned. "Let's do it then!"
When Tommy found they were walking down a dark corridor, his old childhood fear of the darkness was starting to come back. There was a reason why he was always so uneasy in darkness, especially when alone. There weren't any security guards here, at least none he could see. It was just a long, empty looking, dark corridor, where anything could lurk on the other side.
Patamon sat on Tommy's head under his hat. "It's okay, Tommy. You're not alone. I'm here, so nothing will sneak up on you." He assured the Warrior of Ice.
"S-sorry… I guess I hadn't fully gotten over that fear…" Tommy sighed, trying not to sound as scared as he felt. "Are you sure this is the right way…? There doesn't… seem to be anyone else here."
"Yes, I'm sure this is the right way." Patamon said, but there was a bit of doubt beginning to creep up on him. But is it really? Some of these corridors can look alike...
Tommy continued to walk down the corridor. "There… sure are… a lot of doors here…"
"The Axion Labs work on various things, it's only recently they began working on ecto stuff. Though the Fentons… are still the experts when it comes to those in Amity Park," Patamon answered. "Just think of it like a museum of high tech stuff in each of those doors."
"High tech stuff, huh? … They uh… wouldn't happen to be working on… robots… or AIs… or possible… animatronics… that would chase after you when it gets dark… and stuff you in a suit that could kill you or something… right?" Tommy nervously asked.
"No, nothing like that." Patamon reassured Tommy. "Also, you play too many video games."
Tommy just gave a sigh of relief, he did not want to experience a real life version of a certain horror game that had been quite popular lately.
"I think we're getting close," Patamon spoke up.
"To where?" Tommy asked.
"The office of the owner of the Axion Labs," Patamon answered.
"The owner?" Tommy blinked as he soon came up to double doors at the end of the corridor. "Why are we going to his office?"
"It's the location where Impmon will be headed." Patamon replied. "And we may find the one who wants Dreammon's egg there."
Tommy frowned, but if Patamon was right, then they needed to prepare themselves for a possible fight. Tommy gulped a little as he reached out to the doors, about to touch the door knob, but then stopped before he knocked on the door.
Tommy and Patamon could hear annoyed whisperings coming from the other side of the doors.
Patamon frowned as he heard the whisperings. His sharper hearing could pick up a familiar voice on the other side of the door.
There was a black flash of light coming from the other side of the door before the door suddenly opened, revealing Vlad Masters. Vlad looked rather annoyed about something, but was surprised for a moment before he looked down, seeing who knocked.
"Mr. Masters," Tommy quickly said in a deep voice, glad that he knew who Vlad Masters was, Takuya made sure to warn all the Legendary Warriors about Vlad Masters. "Excuse the intrusion, I needed to make a report to you."
Vlad raised an eyebrow, noting the shorter size, but he didn't really pay much attention to it, as one security guard's size didn't matter to him. He merely paid them to do their job. "Yes, what is it?"
"There were reports of skittering noises in the lab," Tommy answered. "The other security guards were saying they were likely mice or something, but I, being smart, knew mice couldn't get in the labs so easily. I believe it might've been ghosts, sir. Or some other strange creature that somehow bypassed the security."
Vlad frowned at this news. "I see. That is troubling."
Tommy knew he needed to get into the office to see if Impmon or the egg were in there. "There's… more, but perhaps we should talk about this in your office, Mr. Masters?"
Vlad nodded. "Yes, perhaps we should. I need as much information as possible if this is indeed the case. I cannot have some unknown threats attacking Axion Labs."
Impmon was coming dangerously close to the Axion Labs. Valerie had tried to swoop down to grab him, but the slippery Digimon kept jumping out of the way, then he would fire a dark fireball at her. Dorumon tried shooting out his Metal Cannons at Impmon, but Impmon was able to dodge them all.
"He sure is slipperier than wet fish," Gomamon muttered. "Too bad we're not near any water, I could probably home in my Marching Fishes to catch him."
"That would have been a good idea, but we can't, we have to find another way." Valerie said. "But that isn't going to be easy. He is very tricky."
Impmon's attacks were getting more aggressive the closer they were to the Axion Labs. "Why don't you all just mind your own business!?"
"Why don't you put down that Digi-Egg?" Valerie challenged back.
Dorumon was ready to shoot another Metal Cannon in case Impmon decided to be tricky again.
"Make me!" Impmon snarked back.
"We intend to! Metal Cannon!" Dorumon shot out another iron ball at Impmon.
Impmon jumped and dodged it. "You guys are getting on my nerves! The boss isn't going to be happy to see I had followers!"
Impmon suddenly jumped. "Bada Boom!"
Impmon threw several dark fireballs with his free hand at Valerie, Dorumon, and Gomamon. They yelped as they tried to shield themselves from the fireballs. Impmon then landed on Valerie's head.
"Let's see how well you'll be following me without your helmet!" Impmon threatened and began to pull on Valerie's helmet.
"Get off of me, you little imp!" Valerie snapped, trying to get Impmon off.
This caused Valerie to move around frantically on her hoverboard. Dorumon and Gomamon yelped as they were trying not to get hit by Valerie's thrashing movements. This caused some buttons on the hoverboard to get pressed.
Valerie could feel her hoverboard begin to go out of control. She grabbed Impmon and yanked him off of her, and pried his free hand off of her helmet/hood. She realized this was her chance to get the egg, but her hoverboard was still out of control. Deciding the egg was more important, she grabbed the egg from Impmon's other hand and pried it free before she felt herself tilt as her hoverboard began to careen towards a very familiar building. "Oh no… This will hurt…"
Dorumon and Gomamon both yelled as they were clinging onto the hoverboard. Impmon was shouting as well, though he could see Valerie had the egg with her.
The hoverboard was heading straight for Axion Labs.
"THIS IS GOING TO HURT!" Dorumon screamed.
Gomamon took a deep breath and blew out the biggest bubble she could manage. "Bubble Deflector!"
There was a loud CRASH!
Tommy was about to enter Vlad's office, when suddenly, there was a loud CRASH! This caused Tommy, Patamon, and Vlad to be on immediate guard. They saw a big hole in the wall, a smoking hoverboard, a red masked person lying on the ground, a Gomamon on top of the person's back, and a Dorumon groaning on the floor. Impmon, though a bit scratched up, pulled out the egg and raised it up.
"I got it!" Impmon grinned triumphantly.
"What is the meaning of this!?" Vlad growled, his eyes flashing red for a moment.
Patamon paled. "Oh no… We were too late…" He whispered to Tommy.
Tommy was still reeling in the fact that someone just crashed into the office.
Impmon grew nervous at seeing Vlad. "I… uh… I was able to get the egg back, Boss. I… may have been followed, but these idiots shouldn't cause you any trouble!"
Vlad frowned as he looked down at the red huntress, who was likely unconscious right now. Gomamon and Dorumon were injured in the crash, but they were still conscious. Both of them stood up, and glared, ready to fight if they needed to.
Dorumon, especially, was ready to fight, because he knew who, and what, Vlad was. His eyes were slits and he was growling a bit as well.
Vlad was angry yes, but he hid his anger with concern for the red huntress. He gave Impmon a glare, but that was all he did before walking over to the red-suited huntress. He knelt down and gently shook her shoulder. She had better be okay. I need her to spy on Daniel. Oh, that Impmon is going to get it if she is injured in any way!
Vlad stopped when he noticed Dorumon and Gomamon were growling at him defensively. Vlad knew who Dorumon was, but Gomamon was new. Vlad noticed the D-Arc that was hooked on Valerie's belt. She actually got herself a Digimon partner? That's quite surprising.
"Instead of growling at me, you should be taking your partner to a hospital," Vlad said to Gomamon.
Gomamon stopped growling and realized the odd man had a point. She looked back at Valerie and made her way over to her partner's side. Gomamon didn't know why, but she was getting the feeling the man before her was different, and not in a good way. "It will be done." She said, but not before she glared back at Vlad one last time.
Since Gomamon's partner was hurt, the D-Arc activated itself to digivolve Gomamon into Dolphmon. Now that she was bigger, Dolphmon carefully moved Valerie onto her back. Dorumon frowned a little as he looked at Dolphmon.
"Be careful… I need to take care of my partner," Dolphmon said to Dorumon.
"I… understand," Dorumon answered, while he didn't like being left alone to deal with Vlad, he knew that to a Digimon, their partners were their first priority, he would've done the same if it was Andy.
Dolphmon was able to float into the air, as if she was swimming in it, and she quickly moved away from Axion Labs to get Valerie some help, leaving Dorumon alone with Vlad, Impmon, and the very short security guard who was standing by the door.
Dorumon glared over at Impmon, then at Vlad. "You were the one who created Dreammon?"
Vlad blinked a bit before he chuckled. "You catch on quick, don't you?" He then smirked evilly. "Yes, you could say I am his creator. Of course, I never expected Dreammon to actually go so far as to try to take the Legendary Warriors for himself, but that just impressed me more."
"How did you know about what Dreammon did in the Digital World?" Dorumon demanded.
Tommy and Patamon were listening intently while pretending to remain silent until they received further instructions from their 'boss'.
"Remember, I had Tsukaimon as my partner?" Vlad chuckled. "He told me everything that Dreammon did when he was observing him. Dreammon came close, so very close, to becoming Susanoomon, perhaps one of the strongest Digimon in all of the Digital World. Too bad he messed it up in the end by missing one Legendary Warrior."
Tommy tried not to wince.
"Why do you want him now then? He's just an egg now, he won't have any of his memories when he hatches," Dorumon pointed out.
"I created him. So I think I would have some vested interest in my creation, wouldn't you?" Vlad purred with a smirk. "Even if he hatches without his memories, I think Dreammon would be better in my care again."
"You threw him out though!" Dorumon growled before he glared at Impmon. "And you! Why are you doing this?"
"What can I say? This man gave me an offer I couldn't refuse," Impmon said as he walked over to Vlad, holding the egg. "He promised he would help make me stronger, and I'll finally be able to digivolve."
So he's already trying to replace me. Patamon noted.
Dorumon growled again. "You're just a sick, twisted human!" He hissed to Vlad. "No, not a human… A sick, twisted ghost!"
Dorumon jumped at Impmon to try to get the egg away. "Give me that egg!"
Both Rookies were rolling on the floor, fighting over the egg.
"Get off me, you crazy Digimon!" Impmon shouted.
"No! I won't!" Dorumon snapped back, trying to bite down on Impmon's tail.
"Oh this is getting ridiculous," Vlad grumbled before turning to Tommy. "Why don't you make yourself useful and take that purple fox creature out through the hole in the wall?"
Tommy glared. "Yes, Mr. Masters."
Tommy walked over to the two fighting Rookies, and pulled on Dorumon's tail, dragging him away from Impmon.
"Hey! What-"
"Don't do anything hasty," Tommy quickly said to Dorumon.
Dorumon froze. He was sure he had heard that voice before. It sounded like Calumon's, but he couldn't be too sure. But it was enough for Dorumon to calm down and to trust this 'security guard', since he didn't seem to be unfamiliar with Dorumon.
"Oh? I didn't know you had such a way with… animals," Vlad noted, seeing how Tommy was able to calm Dorumon down.
"It's… uh… a talent of mine…" Tommy lied, trying to act as calm as he could, but deep down, his heart was racing. This is bad, very very bad… Vlad Masters is Dreammon's creator!
Impmon walked over to Vlad, handing him Dreammon's egg. "Here you go, boss!"
Tommy knew they had to do something quick, if Vlad was planning something with Dreammon, he needed to be stopped now. But attacking recklessly could cost them their lives, especially if what Takuya said about Vlad's powers were true.
"Dorumon… can you use your Metal Cannon to make several iron balls at once under someone's feet?" Tommy whispered.
Dorumon nodded. "I think so." He whispered back. "But I'm not sure if I actually can."
"You need to try," Tommy replied quietly. "If we can't beat them, then we need to trip them up. Once they lose their balance, grab the egg, and hurry out through the hole."
Dorumon nodded. He took a deep breath before he spat out a few metal balls towards Vlad's and Impmon's feet, making sure he didn't miss. I hope this works...
Impmon and Vlad didn't notice the little iron balls under their feet, so when Impmon moved closer to Vlad to hand the egg over, his feet ended up tripping on the balls. "W-whoa!"
Vlad moved to catch the egg, but he ended up slipping on the little iron balls too. The egg ended up getting dropped on the ground, and rolled. Dorumon quickly grabbed the egg and moved out to the hole in the wall.
Vlad saw that and his eyes flashed red for a brief moment. "No!" He exclaimed as he saw Dorumon escape through the hole in the wall. "He's got the egg!"
Vlad was about to rush out the wall, when Tommy deliberately moved in front of him, causing Vlad to crash and trip over the boy. This did end up removing the hood on Tommy's head, and the night goggles.
Vlad looked back as he got to his feet, only to stare in what had to be disbelief and shock that a child was one of his security guards. For a moment, he wondered if this child really was one of his employees, but then a frown crossed his face. No, there's no way I hired a child to be a security guard. This boy must have snuck in somehow and knocked out one of the guards.
"Tommy, you need to go!" Patamon urgently said.
Tommy gasped, realizing that he was exposed. The boy quickly ran out through the hole in the wall after Dorumon. "So… what are the chances that Vlad will chase us himself or get his security to do it?"
Patamon sighed. "Vlad chasing us himself is quite likely, but I don't doubt he would have his guards after us as well."
A few seconds later, an angry looking vampire-like ghost came flying out from the lab.
"Okay, that's not good." Tommy frowned.
"Keep running!" Dorumon called back.
"Don't need to tell me twice!" Tommy squeaked out, wanting to get away from the vampire-like ghost. Aw man… this is just like a horror movie!
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Amity Park, Andy was standing at the central park of Amity Park. Tucker and Sam were hiding behind some trees while waiting. Danny was up in the tree, in human form to keep watch on things. Takuya himself was in his Fusion form, hovering just out of sight behind another tree so he would appear as if he was the 'familiar' when 'summoned'.
"Are you sure they'll come?" Andy asked for the tenth time that night.
"Just give it a minute!" Tucker called back.
"Yeah, it takes a bit for the signal from the PDA to get to the other ghost hunter's gadgets since they could be anywhere in this town!" Terriermon answered.
Danny looked ahead for any sign of the ghost hunters. Then, his eyes caught sight of forms coming towards the park. "We've got company coming." He said.
Okay, it's show time. Andy turned to see who was coming.
It turned out to just be a couple strolling through the park. Andy deadpanned at this as they were kissing each other, not even paying him any attention.
Ugh… how long do I have to stand here, dressed up like Danny Phantom? This feels so wrong… Andy grumbled to himself.
Danny felt like smacking his own face. "Well… that was a disappointment…"
"I'm a little worried," Gatomon said to Sam. "I think we would know when the other two… the Groovy Gang and Scaredy Cat, and the Extreme Ghostbreakers would be here, considering they're not very subtle. But the Guys in White might be a different matter."
Sam frowned. "Yeah… we've been out here for at least an hour with no sign of the ghost hunters."
Aldamon was watching things, he too was starting to feel a little suspicious. Even if the ghost hunters were far, they should've been here by now since Tucker sent them the 'anonymous' message on where the 'million dollar ghost' was. Okay… either we are being played, or Tucker's tip didn't get through. Why do I think we are being tricked?
Andy sighed as he kept standing there, but then suddenly, his head felt dizzy.
Andy saw an ecto bazooka being aimed at him from behind a bush, it would fire at him. The ecto energy would hit him, and it would actually hurt. Andy could see himself on the ground, in pain, almost like he was being electrocuted. The agent who shot him comes out with a sadistic grin on his face. Then Aldamon would jump them, angry that he hurt Andy. More agents would come out of hiding, all aiming their weapons at Aldamon and Andy.
Andy came out of the vision, and gasped, looking at the bush where he saw the ecto bazooka. With fast reflexes, Andy quickly jumped away, which surprised the others who had been watching, wondering why Andy suddenly jumped away like that. Seconds later, the ecto bazooka shot out the ecto laser, hitting and burning the spot Andy was standing at second ago.
Danny paled at seeing that. "Oh… crap…"
For his part, Aldamon was glad Andy had dodged the shot like that. I never imagined I would be glad Andy dodged it… Wait… How did Andy know what was going to happen?
Shaking his head, the Legendary Warrior forced the question from his mind. I can worry about how later. Right now, I need to be ready to make my move.
We were wrong. Those ecto weapons can hurt humans. They're not like Mom and Dad, they don't care if they hurt people! Andy glared at the agent who almost shot him.
The agent frowned, coming out of hiding since the 'ghost boy' clearly knew he was there. "Invisobill, you are under arrest. We cannot allow a prepubescent ecto entity to run around freely."
"And once we capture you, and claim that million dollar reward, we will be sure you're taken to the lab to be studied," Another agent stated, walking over to his comrade. "You'll likely have a lot of painful experiments."
"Oh, that sounds real lovely," Andy sarcastically stated. "Are you sure you want to try though? I do have my own bodyguard after all."
As soon as he heard his cousin say that, Aldamon realized it was time to make his entrance. He took a breath and let it out before he flew up from behind the tree, making sure to look as intimidating as he could. He gave the agents his best glare and revealed his sharp fangs in response. "You will regret it if you attempt to take him away," He hissed, his tone as harsh as he could make it. Deep down though, the Legendary Warrior's heart/Digi-Core was racing with anxiety. I can't believe I'm doing something like this! This better not backfire...
Andy was looking around the area carefully, in his vision, he saw there were at least 4 more agents in hiding. He knew they would come out soon to surround them if they felt they needed to. Andy knew they had to be taken care of, or they would be in real danger.
"So…" Andy spoke up, looking at the two agents from behind Aldamon. "I'm surprised out of all the ghost hunters that are here, only the Guys in White showed up. How did you find me? I was keeping my ecto signature hidden. Because I can do that."
Andy hoped that by asking the question in a way, it would stroke the agents' ego enough to tell him what happened to the other ghost hunters who were supposed to receive the 'anonymous' tip.
"Why would we allow some amateurs to claim the reward? We intercepted the messages meant for them so only we could get here." The first agent remarked with his sadistic grin. "After all, such amateurs don't have the record we do when it comes to ghost hunting."
Aldamon frowned at this information. Damn… No wonder these guys are such a threat… They're more competent than they first appeared to be...
"So someone messaged you about where I was?" Andy asked, trying to sound surprised.
"Of course. Looks like you were incompetent enough to let yourself be seen out here, ghost boy." The agent grinned. "Don't think your big pet there will keep you safe either. We've come better prepared this time."
Hearing that, Aldamon felt his face pale. Oh shit… This… doesn't sound like it will be pleasant for either Andy or myself… He then frowned a bit. Wait… did he just call me a 'pet'?!
Andy noticed Aldamon's agitation when his wings were starting to flare up a bit. "Keep yourself calm."
Aldamon realized that Andy was right and let out a breath, forcing himself to calm down. He's right. I can't let my anger get the better of me here.
Andy had a plan, it was, admittedly, a rushed, last second plan, and he needed Tucker to understand his message when he gave it. But he could only hope it would work, because if it didn't, they were as good as dead.
"Well, too bad that you're only talking to a duplicate." Andy grinned.
Tucker blinked, not exactly understanding. Huh? What does Andy mean?
Danny and Sam were worried, they hadn't expected the Guys in White to sneak up on Andy like that, nor did they expect them to stop the other ghost hunters from coming. They weren't sure if they could put their plan into action.
What's Andy doing? I can't duplicate myself yet! Danny frowned.
"What?" One of the agents frowned in confusion to Andy's comment, even Aldamon was confused.
"Yeah, you didn't think I'd be foolish enough to let my real self be out here in the open, where anyone could see me, right?" Andy continued, sounding confident, though inwardly he was sweating since Tucker hadn't started up the hologram.
"You're bluffing," The agent growled.
"You really think I am?" Andy backed away a little bit, trying not to sweat. "I mean being a duplicate, I'm good at distracting you while the real me goes off flying into the night sky."
There was still no hologram. Andy gestured to Aldamon to move directly in front of him to block him from view. Aldamon still had no idea what Andy was planning, but he did move in front of Andy to block him from view. Andy quickly took out his D-Arc, glad that the hazmat suit had a pocket, then fiercely tapped the call button.
As soon as Tucker's symbol came on, Andy hissed. "Will you hurry up and project that damn hologram flying off into the night sky already!?"
"Oh… That's what you meant. You got it." Tucker said over the D-Arc.
Andy let out a sigh, but hung up. Seconds later, the hologram of Danny Phantom flying appeared in the sky.
"Agent K, look up!" The second agent hissed. "It's the million dollar ghost!"
"So you are a duplicate!" The agent called K growled at Andy.
"And it looks like I succeeded at distracting you," Andy remarked.
Aldamon felt relieved Tucker had gotten the hologram up. Hopefully we can get this over with. We're running a risk of getting hurt as it is.
Agent K frowned before he pulled out a walkie talkie. "Catch that ghost boy before he escapes!"
The other agents that had been in hiding began firing their ecto weapons at the hologram, which were just going through it.
"How is he able to dodge our weapons?" The other agent questioned.
Andy slowly started to sneak away. Since it was a last minute plan to make himself a 'duplicate', he had to make sure he was gone by the time they paid attention to him and Aldamon again.
Aldamon made sure he was still in front of Andy, using his larger frame and his wings to shield the boy from view. Please don't find out it's a trick… please just ignore us...
Andy frowned. "You need to start flying. If they see you're not bothering to try to protect the hologram, they're going to get suspicious."
Realizing Andy was right, Aldamon flared his wings and took off after the hologram, trying to fly close to it to put up the illusion of being its summon. Please be safe, Andy… Aldamon thought, trying his hardest to not look back down at the 'duplicate' Andy.
Agent K frowned when he looked back at the 'duplicate', seeing how he hadn't disappeared yet, while Aldamon went flying after the hologram, and the other agents were trying to shoot it down, he found it odd that the 'duplicate' hadn't disappeared yet since they were already chasing after the 'original'.
Andy stopped and looked at the agent. "What?"
"Don't move," Agent K demanded. "Why haven't you disappeared yet?"
"Maybe I didn't feel like it?" Andy frowned.
Danny looked nervous. "Uh oh…" Why did Andy send Aldamon away?! This is so not going to end well...
"If you really are a duplicate, why are you still here? I find it very suspicious you are not disappearing yet… if you even are a duplicate, Invisobill…" Agent K growled.
"Hey now, that's just rude," Andy huffed.
Suddenly, a colorful van came racing over to the park. Agent K and Andy, as well as the others who were watching the scene, were surprised when the Groovy Gang came out of their van.
"Like, we're hope we're not too late to get the million dollar ghost!" The lanky man said.
"It took a while to find out we had a message, but it got deleted for some reason," The woman remarked.
Agent K looked at the van of the Groovy Gang in surprise. I was sure we intercepted the messages to the other ghost hunters. How did they get the message if we did that?
"Hey! Like, there's the million dollar ghost!" The lanky man pointed at Andy.
"That's odd… I'm not getting any ecto readings from him," The woman noted, looking at her scanner.
Suddenly, there was a loud tire screech before the Extreme Ghostbreakers came riding in on their ATVs.
"There's the million dollar ghost! Awesome!" The girl remarked.
Tucker grinned. "Nice job, Terriermon, sending another message to them."
"Eh, it was easy," Terriermon shrugged.
"Are you sure that was a good idea?" Sam asked.
"With the Groovy Gang and Ghostbreakers here, it'll help distract the Guys in White from Andy," Gatomon explained.
Tucker nodded. "We have to do what we can to help Andy get away since he told Aldamon to go after the hologram."
Agent K looked at the Extreme Ghostbreakers as well. How is it these amateurs showed up?! I swear, I need to talk to our superiors about better interception equipment...
Andy frowned as he started trying to walk away, but the other ghost hunters were quick to react. The Groovy Gang and Extreme Ghostbreakers had their own ecto guns ready. The Groovy Gang woman shot out an ecto net at Andy. Andy yelped as he somersaulted away from the net. The Ghostbreakers tossed a glowing hacky sack with a green creepy looking smiley face on it. Andy didn't notice because he was dodging another ecto laser from Agent K, and the hacky sack exploded on Andy's face, covering him in green goop.
"Eew!" Andy groaned in disgust. They covered me in ectoplasm, really? I better not get radiation poison from this!
"Yes! We got the million dollar ghost!" The female Ghostbreaker exclaimed in glee. "That's totally radical!"
Danny frowned. He was ready to go save his brother if he needed to, in fact, his core was starting to get agitated by just watching his brother getting surrounded and fired at by these ghost hunters.
"Danny, calm yourself," Gatomon spoke up, sensing Danny's agitation.
Danny sighed, trying to calm down. "Sorry, Gatomon. I'm just… uneasy watching this, you know? I wonder if sending Takuya away was a good idea. I mean, he could probably take those blasts easily. Andy can't." He felt tense still. "I feel like I need to do something, but the plan hinges on Andy pretending to be my ghost form."
Andy wiped himself down from the ectoplasm, though he had to start moving. Agent K was looking rather annoyed while the other ghost hunters were going after Andy. Tucker's projection was too busy keeping the other agents of the Guys in White busy, so he couldn't have it come back to help him now. But since the other ghost hunters were here, perhaps they could put their original plan back in action. Andy pulled out his D-Arc while running.
"Aldamon, change of plans, get back here now, quickly!" Andy called out.
"What? You had me go after the hologram and now you want me to come back?" Aldamon questioned as his symbol of Flame appeared on the screen. "Geez, make up your mind… but fine, I'm coming back." As soon as he said that, the screen went dark.
Yeah, well, that was before all these other ghost hunters started showing up. Andy grumbled.
Andy yelped as another ecto blast just whizzed past him.
"I find it kinda… you know, weird that he's not flying. Wouldn't flying be better than running on foot for a ghost?" The Extreme Ghostbreaker guy questioned. "If I could fly, I'd do it all the time!"
"I know! I would so do it all the time too!" His female friend agreed excitedly. She obviously didn't find it odd that the 'ghost boy' was running, not with a possible idea as to why in mind. "Perhaps the ghost boy is too tired from duplicating. That may be why it is running from us instead of flying."
Andy, for a split second, saw in his mind, Danny flying out of the tree in his ghost form. Andy shook his head. No, Danny can't come out! If he does, they'll catch him for sure! If only I had Dorumon here…
"Wait… that's odd…" The Groovy Gang woman spoke up, looking at her now beeping scanner. "It's now saying a strong entity is heading this way."
"Like, what could be coming this way?" The lanky man asked in confusion. "Is it some kind of ghost? Or is it that familiar?"
"It's an ecto entity, so it's a ghost," The woman answered.
Andy heard what sounded like yelling, and blasting, coming his way. "What the…?"
Andy's eyes widened as he saw someone wearing a coat that looked to be way too big on them, and Dorumon carrying an egg, running towards him, along with an angry looking Vlad Plasmius flying after them. Vlad had his gloved hands glowing pinkish red. Andy couldn't stop, so he, and the boy wearing the coat, ended up colliding into each other.
"Ouch…" The boy moaned as he rubbed his head. "Ugh… Who did I collide with…?"
"Danny…?" Dorumon blinked, before he sniffed the 'ghost boy' a little. "... Andy!? What-"
"No time to explain!" Andy spoke up.
Vlad was floating over them, and was surprised to see 'Daniel' among the boy and the Digimon he had been chasing after. Not only that, but the other ghost hunters were right on his tail.
Andy grabbed onto the younger boy's arm and pulled him up. "Keep running!"
The boy, who was looking at the boy who had helped him up warily, nodded. "O-okay…" He murmured before taking off running down the street again.
Andy took out his D-Arc with his free hand, calling Tucker. "You need to bring back your hologram. The agents might be confused, but Danny- I mean the ghost boy goes invisible all the time! Just bring it back and distract the other ghost hunters. I don't think I can deal with them and Vlad at the same time!"
"What!? Vlad's there?!" Tucker exclaimed in alarm. "Uh… sure. I hope you know what you're doing, Andy." The line went dead as Tucker began to work on bringing the hologram back to Andy's location.
"Wait a minute!" Andy called Tucker back quickly. "Don't tell Danny Vlad is here! He'll-"
"VLAD'S HERE!?" Danny's voice shouted in alarm.
"Danny! Don't you dare come out!" Andy shouted.
"But Vlad…" Danny began to protest, but he decided it was best to remain calm and let Andy handle this so far. "O-okay… But if things get really bad, I am coming out, whether you want me to or not."
Andy hissed, he knew he had to deal with this situation and fast. If Danny showed himself now, not only would the plan fail, but Andy didn't need to be a seer to know that his brother would be in deep danger of getting captured and taken away. Not that he was a seer.
"We need to lead Vlad away," Andy said, before looking back at the kid. "Uh… sorry, who are you?"
"It's me, Tommy Himi, we met back in the Digital World," Tommy answered.
"Oh!" Andy realized. "Right. You're the Warrior of Ice! … Wait, what are you doing in Amity Park?"
"T-that's not important right now!" Tommy squeaked out. "We have a situation behind us that we need to deal with first!"
Suddenly, Vlad teleported right in front of them, making them stop hot in their tracks. Patamon kept himself hidden under Tommy's hat.
"Daniel… what's wrong with you?" Vlad frowned, looking more concerned than angry now as he looked at Andy.
"What… do you mean…?" Andy nervously asked, keeping Tommy behind him in case Vlad wanted to attack. Dorumon clutched onto the egg, but stayed close to Andy.
"Why aren't you able to use your powers?" Vlad asked, clearly concerned. "Did those ghost hunters do something to you?"
Andy furrowed his eyebrows, shocked that Vlad really couldn't tell that the reason why he wasn't using his powers was because he was human. "I'm… surprised that you cared, Vlad. Wasn't it you who hired them to hunt me?"
"I only hired them to distract you, not actually hunt you down!" Vlad exclaimed, looking a bit hurt at what had happened. "What did they do to you, my boy?"
"I'm not your boy, and they haven't done anything to me… yet," Andy hissed. "Why don't you go back home and leave me alone, fruit loop? You're making my life miserable enough when you're not around."
Vlad, for his part, looked somewhat hurt by 'Daniel's' words. "I only want what's best for you, Daniel."
Wow… Vlad really does care about Danny. Too bad it's so twisted that it hurts… Andy frowned. "You have a funny way of showing it, Plasmius. You've been hurting my family just to get to me and Mom. Why the heck would I ever want to go with you?"
Vlad looked surprised before he frowned in concern. "I am the only one who can understand you, my boy. You do not know what will happen down the road when it comes to your ghostly abilities. But I do, so I can help you with that instead of you having to stumble along with those abilities."
Andy frowned more at Vlad.
"I should take you back with me, Daniel, if those idiots did something to mess up your core, and that's why you don't have your ghost powers right now, then I need to check on it," Vlad stated.
"No… you can't help me," Andy said.
"Come now, Daniel, this isn't the time for your teenage rebellion! This is for your own health!" Vlad scolded.
"You can't help me because I'm not half ghost," Andy stated as he held onto his D-Arc. "And I'm not Danny."
Vlad raised an eyebrow. "You're 'not' Daniel? You look like it to me."
"If I was Danny, could I do this?" Andy took out a card.
Andy then held up the device and his card. The card spun before Andy caught it in two fingers, looking up from the shadows. He then held the device over his head, the card slot facing down towards his head. He stuck the card's edge into the slot and dragged it through, the card being pulled towards the right side of his body and the device towards the left side of his body. "Digi-Modify!" Andy called out. He pulled the device and card apart from each other. "Devidramon's Red Eyes, activate!"
Dorumon jumped in front of Andy as his eyes turned red. This caught Vlad by surprise, and suddenly his entire body was frozen and numb.
"Only Andy would be able to do that with Dorumon," Andy stated after Dorumon paralyzed Vlad. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a few ghost hunters to get rid of. Come on, Tommy."
Tommy nodded. "Right!" He ran after Andy, but not before he glanced back at Vlad warily one last time. He then ran after Andy again, wanting to get as far away from the scary-looking ghost as possible.
Titanic X: ZAFT: Glad you liked that explanation of what happened to the Crystal Matrix. :3
