Irene's House
"Are you sure it's okay for Kyle to stay with you?" Brax asks, wanting to be sure that she wouldn't be put out by having another one of his brothers staying, even though Heath had moved in to be with Bianca before moving to the Braxton house.
"Darl, it's going to be fine. I had Heath living here for god knows how long, Kyle will be a piece of cake." Irene smiles.
"You won't even know they're related half the time." Brax scoffs as Kyle comes out of the room Irene had made up for him. "Kyle's usually a lot better, especially with the eating habits." He jokes, getting a shake of the head from his brother once he catches onto the conversation.
"It can't be that bad." Irene chuckles.
"You won't even know I'm here." Kyle lightly smiles. "But it would be okay for Emily to come round sometimes, won't it?"
"Sure it is darl." Irene nods.
"Just no overnight stays, we don't need another kid on the way." Brax says.
"You wouldn't have to worry about that, we know it's not allowed." Kyle rolls his eyes. "And you should be worrying about the kid that's on the way. It's going to be like Heath."
"Don't remind me." Brax shakes his head. "Let's hope it's more like Bianca."
"I think she's already making plans with Heath so he doesn't teach their baby bad habits." Irene smiles. "How's the wedding planning coming along?"
"Ricky has become more interested in where we're going on our honeymoon thanks to a certain brother." Brax says.
"You're welcome." Kyle smiles. "Where's she thinking?"
"Nowhere that's in our budget, but I'll find the money somewhere." Brax says as his phone goes off. "Talk of the devil. Ricky wants to talk about the guest list."
"Well I won't keep you. You're welcome to come around whenever you like." Irene says, knowing he'd be worried about Kyle's wellbeing.
"Thanks Irene. I'll see you later." He says to Kyle before leaving to meet his very soon to be wife.
Surf Club - the Gym
"Do you know where Kyle went with Brax this morning?" Casey asks the middle triplet.
"Nope. Aren't they in Angelo's?" Lucas asks, having only just arrived as he had the day off but knew Kyle was meant to be rostered on.
"No, I went up there earlier to see and they weren't. But Kyle had a bag with him when he left with Brax this morning like he was going somewhere. Has he said anything to you?" Casey asks, knowing they shared more between each other than the rest of them.
"No, and we went into Yabbie Creek yesterday after the game. He was a lot quieter than usual, but he didn't want to talk about it. Thinking about it, he also didn't eat as much as he normally does and didn't even want to go for a drink afterwards. Do you think something is wrong?" Lucas says.
"They would have told us if there was, wouldn't they?" Casey frowns, sure they were missing something out. "And just look at you and Kyle, nothing stays a secret between you two."
"Well now you've got me worried that it's something serious they're keeping between themselves." Lucas sighs. "Do you think it could be because of the meal last night?"
"It could be. He didn't engage in our conversations and then went inside with Emily for a bit. I've never seen him like this before. After what the River Boys said, and then Heath's stupid comments, he's been avoiding us. I think we all need to talk about what we can do to make Kyle feel included." Casey says.
"We already tried thinking of things but it might make it worse, like us watching the game yesterday. If we do things, we have to make Kyle feel included some way. I don't like knowing he feels pushed out." Lucas says. "I think I might go and see him."
"But we don't know where he is." Casey says, then sees Brax walk in with Ricky and Tyler.
"Heath said you've been looking for me?" Brax asks, having been on his way up to Angelo's with Ricky so they could do some more wedding planning.
"Yeah I was." Casey nods.
"Is it true Kyle left with a bag this morning?" Lucas asks.
"What?" Tyler frowns, wondering what happened for him to leave. "He's gone?"
"No, he's just gone to stay at Irene's for a bit to take some of the pressure off him." Brax says.
"Why, is he okay?" Lucas asks.
"I took him to see Nate yesterday as he's been feeling down. He's got depression but the doctors are helping him and he had his first counselling session this morning. He'll be okay soon enough." Brax says.
"Did his counselling session go well?"
"Yeah, he asked me to go with him and he did really well. You don't need to worry, he'll be back home before you know it." Brax lightly smiles.
"Can I go to see him?" Lucas asks. "Or does he not want to see us?"
"No, I think he'll like the company." Brax says, knowing Kyle was always happier with Lucas around, being so similar to each other.
Irene's House
"Hi Irene, is Kyle here? I just wanted to see him." Lucas asks from the doorway.
"Hi darl, come on in." Irene smiles as Kyle walks out from his room after hearing his name.
"Lucas, can we not right now?" Kyle sighs.
"Why not?" Lucas asks, feeling upset for not noticing something sooner. "I brought food and your favourite film. I thought we could hang out for a bit."
"Okay." Kyle lightly nods.
"I'll leave you both to it, I've got a shift at the diner." Irene says, grabbing her bag before walking out.
"I've missed you." Lucas mutters.
"I saw you this morning." Kyle lightly smiles.
"That's not what I meant." Lucas says, pulling Kyle in for a hug, squeezing him tight.
"Lucas, can't breathe!" Kyle laughs.
"Sorry!" Lucas smiles, pulling away.
"I'll be home soon. I'm not staying here for long, just until I start to feel better." Kyle says.
"I can't wait and I'm going to be here for you because I want you back." Lucas says.
"You sound like I'm going away for good." Kyle jokes.
"Kyle, don't joke about this. You need to get better, tell me what I can do to help." Lucas sighs.
"You can tell me what food you brought?" Kyle lightly smiles.
"All the best for a binge eat. Although the ice cream might have melted by now." Lucas says as Kyle pulls it from the bag to look.
"It's not too bad." Kyle says as he opens the lid.
"It is." Lucas sighs.
"Everyone seems to be asking me what's wrong, but what's up with you?" Kyle asks.
"I just wanted to cheer you up. I can't even do that right." Lucas mutters.
"You have, it's still edible." Kyle says, pulling Lucas into a hug, apart from this one hit home for them more.
"Please be okay, I want you to come home and feel better again." Lucas mutters, neither noticing someone holding back by the door to give them a minute. "I don't want to lose you."
"You're not going to lose me. The doctors are helping and I'll be home soon. My counsellor said I did great in my first session and I've got a clear plan to get better. He agreed that I can be back at work on Monday to help with normality. I just need to get my head sorted." Kyle says.
"I hate knowing I'm a reason you're feeling like this and didn't notice sooner." Lucas says as they pull away.
"You're not a reason. I've kept a lot to myself for a while and it's just all exploded at the same time. I'm dealing with it now, please don't blame yourself." Kyle sighs.
"But I am a reason. You felt pushed out because me and Tyler were doing more with our brothers that you weren't. I don't want you to feel left out."
"Lucas, I had my own reasons for that. None of this way you, okay?" Kyle says, getting a small nod in reply. "Good, cause now the ice cream has melted more which is definitely your fault." He smiles.
"You said it would be fine!" Lucas frowns, laughing as Kyle lightly shoves him.
"Hey, is now a good time?" They both hear from the doorway, seeing their third triplet.
"Yeah, we were just about to watch a movie if you wanted to join?" Kyle asks.
"Sure." Tyler smiles, knowing he'd need to find cover for the rest of his shift. "As long as it's not a rom-com." He smirks as he walks over to them.
"Nope, it's a thriller." Lucas smiles.
"Great!" Tyler smiles, grabbing the bag of food before sitting on the couch with Kyle. "I think you'll need straws for this." He says, putting the ice cream on the table.
"Tyler!" Lucas lightly glares, them all laughing once Lucas found the funny side to it.
