Day 2 - 8:00 AM
They watched as Arisu made her way back to her rooms. Takashi waited so he could speak more freely with InuKimi.
"My Lady, are you sure you wish to interfere in Lord Sesshoumaru's private affairs?" He asked once he knew Arisu would be out of earshot.
"Takashi, I know you are Sesshoumaru's oldest ally, but do not forget to whom you are speaking to." She replied as they continued their way down to the garden. Takashi simply bowed his head in submission.
"Lady Mother, will you really bring Lord Sesshoumaru back?" Rin asked.
"I do believe it is high time he starts thinking about his future." She replied. Rin's expression turned to one of concern.
"What is it, little one?" InuKimi asked.
"Nothing." Rin said. "I just hope we are not interrupting Lord Sesshoumaru, wherever he may be." She lied. In truth, Rin was worried. If what she heard was correct, the clans coming to the castle meant that Sesshoumaru would be choosing a mate. If he did choose one, where did that put her? Not all youkai liked the idea of a human hanging around. And what if they had a baby? Would she be forced to go back to a human village? She knew that Sesshoumaru cared for her, loved her even, but what if his mate did not feel the same way? She knew what a mate was. It was someone's soulmate, their partner for life, surely Lord Sesshoumaru would choose his mate over his adopted daughter.
Rins thoughts spiralled and she lost herself to them.
"Takashi, go fetch Sesshoumaru and request the presence of the other clans." InuKimi voiced. She could tell Rin was lying, but if she was choosing not to voice out her concerns there was little she could do. Besides, she could already guess where her thoughts were headed and the only person who could help her would be Sesshoumaru anyway.
"Yes, My Lady." He bowed and quickly made his departure.
"Rin, your tea will get cold." InuKimi said.
The statement brought Rin out of her thoughts and she sipped on her tea. She had not even noticed when they arrived at the garden or sat down, so lost in thought was she.
"Rin," InuKimi began. "You have nothing to worry about, child. Sesshoumaru will be home soon." She assured her.
"Yes." Rin allowed a small smile. She really hated being separated from Sesshoumaru, it was a good thing he was coming home soon. Shaking her head to clear her mind she focused on the task at hand, there was no use worrying about the future when she had so much to do in the present, namely finish her lessons and play with Jaken.
"I hope Takashi finds Lord Sesshoumaru soon!" Rin said as she grabbed a delicate pastry and shoved it in her mouth.
