Chapter 63-Saving an old friend
The dropship
Murphy's POV
Murphy, Octavia, Wells, Ontari, Lincoln, Miller, Anya, and Luna strap Lucy to the floor of the dropship. They stand up as Lucy starts to seize. "She's seizing again," Octavia says as white foam starts to come out of her mouth.
"What do we do?" Miller asks
"We wait," Wells tells them. "We can't do anything," They watch as the woman moves around. She stops.
"She's not breathing," Ontari says. Wells gets on top of him and starts to perform CPR. He does it for about ten seconds when Lucy starts to breathe again.
"You did it," Octavia says. Anya, Ontari, and Luna look at him.
"She was dead. How did you do that?" Anya asks.
"Have you tried to bring reapers back before?" Octavia asks.
"Nyko has and died like that every time," Anya says.
"We need to get Abby," Wells says.
"If we do. Lexa will find out about her," Luna says.
"We don't have a choice. Abby said she might be able to save her," Murphy says. "Octavia, Wells, and I will go back to Alpha station," The others nod as they leave.
Alpha station. Lexa's POV
Lexa walks through the halls of Alpha station. She walks to Billy and Raven's room and knocks on the door. "Are you guys decent?" Lexa asks.
"Can we not have a few hours, Lexa?" Raven asks.
"Come here," Lexa says. She hears Raven groan and waits a moment. Raven opens the door in a tank top.
"What?" She asks.
"You're lucky you are, my friend. Have you seen Anya or Luna?" Lexa asks her.
"No," Raven says. They hear footsteps. Bellamy and Emma come over to them.
"Murphy, Wells, and Octavia are back," Bellamy tells them.
"Where are the others?" Raven asks.
"I don't know. All they said was get you two, Lexa, Abby, and the others and meet them at the table," Bellamy says. They nod. Raven goes back into the room, and Billy and Raven walk out of the room a few minutes later with their armor on. They go to the table where the others were waiting.
"You found a reaper?" Billy asks them. Murphy nods as he looks at Lexa.
"You should know before we continue. The reaper is your mother," Murphy says. Lexa stares at the teen as Clarke looks at her.
"That's not possible. My mother is dead and has been for a long time," Lexa tells him.
"Anya, Luna, and Lincoln all said the same thing. I promise you, commander. It's your mother," Octavia says.
"Then what is her name?" Lexa asks them.
"Lucy," Wells says. Lexa lays her hands on the table and lowers her head. Clarke walks over to her girlfriend and grabs her shoulder.
"Continue," Lexa says.
"The Mountain is drugging the grounders. The drug in their system is what turns them into reapers. She started to seize, and she died. I was able to bring her back," Wells says.
"That is not possible when somebody is dead. They are dead," Nyko says.
"Anya said that you tried to save reapers before, but they died. We think you can save her," Murphy says to Octavia. "The grounders need something else. We also can't fight a two-front war if we get rid of the reapers. We will have a huge advantage," Murphy says.
"You make it sound like she is going through withdrawal," Abby says.
"She is," Wells says.
"We don't even know what she's withdrawing from. The detox alone could kill him," Abby says.
"That's where you come in," Wells says.
"And if I can't save her?" Abby asks.
"Then we will have problems," Murphy says. Abby looks at Lexa.
"This is your mother. What do you want me to do?" Abby asks. Lexa looks at the doctor.
"If you can't save her. At least she'll be put out of her misery," Lexa says. Abby nods. They hear footsteps as Atom and Emori come into the room.
"Commander," Emori says. Lexa looks at her.
"Your army is here," Atom says.
"They weren't supposed to be here until tomorrow morning," Indra says.
"They are here now. Abby, you prepare. I will greet them," Lexa says.
"I'll come," Billy says. Lexa nods as they leave the room. They walk to the gate as a warrior walks to the front.
"Heda," He says with a bow. "Where should we set up camp?"
"Here in front of Alpha station. We want to show that our people can be united. We have made tents already, as you can see. We show trust with Skaikru," Lexa says.
"Of course, Heda. We will start to set up," The man says before he leaves. Lexa walks back into Alpha station and looks at Byrne, Gustus, and Roan.
"You three help them. Help them gain trust with Alpha station and our people trust with Alpha station. I will go see if what Abby says is true," Lexa says.
"Abby left already while you walked up there. She said she should arrive sometime during the day, and we should make sure they are okay before we join," Gustus says. Lexa nods as Billy follows her.
Abby's POV
The Dropship
Abby, Nyko, Jake, Bellamy, and Clarke walk into the dropship. "Why do you have a shock stick?" Clarke asks Jake.
"Abby said, grab it," Jake tells his daughter. She nods as they climb the ladder. The others look at them.
"About damn time," Ontari says. "Where's Lexa?"
"The army arrived. She'll be here soon," Abby says as she walks over to Lucy and opens her eye. "Pupils are unresponsive. Tie off his arm. Tight as you can," Abby tells Bellamy and Luna, who nod and do as they are told. Bellamy's radio goes off.
"Bellamy, we are on our way. We have Lexa, Raven, Indra, Murphy, Octavia, Atom, Kane, and Emori. We'll be there soon," Billy says.
"Copy," Bellamy says. Abby pulls medicine out of her bag.
"Thanks to the supplies that were found. Lucy might have a chance," Abby says.
"What is that?" Anya asks.
"This will bring down his fever," Abby says. She injects the shot into Lucy's arm, making her start to move. "Hold her down," She orders as the others move to hold the woman down. Lucy starts to shake. She stops moving.
"What's happening? Why isn't it working?" Bellamy asks.
"His heart stopped," Abby says as she starts CPR. She looks at Nyko. "Tilt her chin back. Pull her chin down to open his airway," Nyko nods as he does what Abby told him.
"She's gone," Nyko says. The others climb up the ladder. Lexa stares at them.
"Jake the stick," Abby says. Jake holds the shock stick out to his wife, who grabs it and shocks the woman. She does it again, and Lucy starts to breathe. She opens her eyes. Anya bends down.
"Lucy," Anya says. "Do you remember me?"
"Anya," Lucy says. Anya smiles. "Untie her," Anya says as she starts to untie the woman.
"We need to get her back to Alpha station. I can treat her there," Abby says. Lincoln nods as he picks her up. As everybody starts to leave, Clarke looks at Lexa.
"You okay?" Clarke asks Lexa, who nods as she follows the others.
Lexa's POV
Lexa stops at the gate of Alpha station and looks at her people who stared at her. "As you all know. We are here to free our people. We will work with, learn from, and train with Skaikru. They now have something else to offer us. They have turned a reaper back into one of us," Lexa tells her people who start to talk. "Quiet. We can now save our people. Skaikru has given us hope for the people we thought we have lost. We will save all of our people from the Mountain with their help. We will save the people trapped, and we will save the people who they turned against. We will punish the guilty. Blood will have blood," Lexa says to her people, who cheer for their commander. The warriors start to chant Jus drein jus daun. Lexa smiles before she walks back into Alpha station. She walks towards Alpha station.
"Commander," Abby says as she comes out of the medical tent. Lexa looks at her. "Give me about an hour, and you can see her," Lexa nods before she leaves. Lexa sat in her and Clarke's room when the door opened, and Clark came and sat down beside her.
"You okay?" Clarke asks her.
"I've spent so long believing she was dead. That I would never see her again. My father is dead. I know that. He was a farmer. They wouldn't keep him alive. I lost her so young that she never got to know me," Lexa says.
"Now she has the change, and she will love you. Because you are the most kind, loving, caring, compassionate person I have ever met," Clarke says as lays her head on Lexa's shoulder.
"She doesn't even know I'm commander," Lexa says.
"Well, she'll love you for it. Does she know you like women?" Clarke asks.
"No, my mother does not know I'm gay, as your people call it. I guess that is another thing I have to tell her," Lexa says. Clarke smiles.
"I can go with you if you want me to," Clarke says. Lexa smiles and kisses Clarke.
"I would love that," Lexa says as there was a knock on their door.
"Lexa, she's ready," Abby says from the other side of the door. Lexa nods as she stands up and heads for the medical tent. Lexa sits down beside Lucy's bed and Clarke stands behind her. Lucy looks at her. Lexa stares at her mother, who stares back.
"Last time I saw you. You were a child, and now you are a woman," Lucy says.
"And the commander," Lexa tells her.
"I heard that too," Lucy says.
"I don't really know what to say. This feels like a dream," Lexa tells her mom, who smiles and holds out her hand to her daughter, who grabs it.
"It does. But it seems like these people are more advanced than I could have imagined," Lucy says.
"You have no idea," Lexa says as Lucy looks at Clarke.
"Who is she?" Lucy asks as she looks at Clarke, who holds his arm out to Lucy, who grabs it.
"I'm Clarke Griffin, Lexa's girlfriend," Clarke says to her. Lucy looks at Lexa.
"Girlfriend?" Lucy asks. "Are you happy?" Lexa nods. "Then I don't care who you date or love,"
"By the way, keep it quiet. We haven't told many people," Clarke says. Lucy nods.
"I guess I have a lot to catch up on," Lucy says to her daughter.
"I would be glad to tell you all of it," Lexa says. "After you get some rest. You are still recovering," Lucy nods as she lays her head back.
"If you need anything. Tell Abby, Jackson, or Nyko to find me," Lexa tells her mother, who nods. Lexa stays with her until she falls asleep.
"It's still so early," Clarke says.
"Our day will get interesting very soon. I hope that we have no problem with our people," Lexa says.
"Me too," Clarke says as they leave the camp.
Byrne's POV
Byrne was watching the grounders set up camp when a man walked up to her. "You are the leader of your warriors, right?" The man asks.
"I am Major Byrne. I am in charge of the guard," Byrne says.
"I'm Frank. I'm in charge of the army. I'm under the commander, Indra, and general Anya. I was hoping we could talk as it seems we will be working together," Frank says.
"Then we should start talking," Byrne says to Frank, who nods as he leads her to a tent.
Roan's POV
Roan sits down across from Lena, who was staring at him. "I am letting you out of this room. Niylah will be following you and if you try anything. She will kill you. Are we clear?" Roan asks the woman, who nods. Roan walks over to her and unlocks the cuffs. Lena stands up and leaves the room. Niylah follows her.
Thanks for reading. The next chapter will be the day. It would be the time between the episode before spacewalker. I will be building characters, and it will have some tension. This chapter was focused on Lexa, and I loved that. The next chapter will be focused on a lot of people. I'm excited. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
