Erin, Jay and Camille had had a 9 o'clock flight on Saturday morning, so they got up and got ready before they left for the airport. Once they got to the airport, they grabbed breakfast. After Erin and Jay left for the airport, Hank and Olivia got up to get Noah and Rachel ready to go. They had packed the night before and the kids were beyond excited. They let the dogs out and ate breakfast before Ed and Diana arrived. Diana stayed in the SUV with the kids, while Ed took Lola in. Hank answered the door.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"I'll trade ya."
"Ok. Olivia is trying to get them to go to the bathroom before you hit the road."
"That'll do it."
Ed handed Hank Lola's leash and bag with her bowl and other stuff for her. Hank took her off her leash and she went to find Stormy and Misty. Then Olivia came downstairs with the kids.
"Are we ready?"
"Yes!"
"You two behave yourselves for Uncle Ed and Aunt Diana, ok?"
"Ok, Mommy. We love you."
"I love you too."
Noah and Rachel gave Olivia a hug and a kiss after she put their coats on them. Hank put his coat on and went to get the car seats for Ed. Ed took their bags and the kids followed him outside. Hank got the seats in and got a hug and a kiss from each of the kids before he strapped them into their seats.
"Bye, Daddy. We love you."
"I love you too."
"Enjoy your weekend."
"We intend to."
Ed got into the SUV and then they left. Hank went back into the house and took his coat off. The dogs were in the family room and he had a feeling he knew exactly where Olivia was. He went upstairs to the bedroom and she was already undressed and back in bed. He shut the bedroom door.
"You're a little overdressed."
"Oh, am I?"
"Yep."
Hank got undressed and then he joined Olivia in bed. They started kissing and then they made love. Afterwards they were holding each other.
"I could get used to all this peace and quiet. I know we just went away but it's nice to be able to relax at home without any of the distractions."
"We still have the dogs and the Halsteads will be back on Tuesday."
"That is true."
They started kissing and made love again before they fell back to sleep for a while. Everyone was arriving at the water park. They parked the vehicles and got the stuff out. Diana took Noah and Rachel's hands, while Kara took Brandon's and Ed took some of the luggage. They went to get checked in and then they went up to their suite. Brandon's eyes lit up when he saw everything. They were next door to Ed's sister's family. Ed, Dan and Connor went to get the rest of the stuff and then they all went to get something to eat.
"Daddy, thank you for doing this."
"No problem. We thought it might be a good way for Brandon to get to know us and some of the family better. Like your Aunt Olivia said, we shouldn't overwhelm him with everyone at once."
"Everyone is excited to meet him though."
"I'm sure they are. I hope things go well between Jeff and Shauna this week."
"Oh, me too. The kids really seem to get along."
"That's a good thing."
"You know who else I like together?"
"Who?"
"Olive and Trevor."
"Hank has been really supportive of that."
"I saw that coming ever since she moved here. Other than the boss, who she knew from Chicago, Trevor was one of the first people she spent any time with."
"Since he's a friend of the family, that's not surprising."
"She has come a long way in the last year. She used to be so quiet and shy. We talked yesterday and I asked her if she's planning to return to work after the baby. She said she wasn't sure yet. She said that has always been her dream but she loves her job."
"It's a hard decision to make. I knew growing up that I'd be working at the Pub but I always has the kids with me. Once most of us were gone, Mom and Pop converted the office area upstairs into the apartments. It was hard to keep up with the house and the building where the Pub was."
"Do they own the building?"
"Yes. They had basically just opened shortly before Ed was born."
"Mom was very pregnant with me when they opened. Both sets of grandparents helped out and our grandmas did all the cooking. Both sides of the family have known each other for years. Mom and Pop were childhood sweethearts."
"That is so sweet that they have been together for so long."
"Except it will be traumatic when something happens to one or the other."
"I can imagine. Whose idea was it to do make your own beer?"
"It was actually something we decided as a family. We knew we wanted it exclusive to the Pub even though we've had people approach us about selling it in stores. That's where Dan comes in. He handled the advertising for us and also did billboards promoting it. It's a big seller."
"I really appreciate you bringing lunch over to me the other day."
"No problem."
"I had so much going on and I really didn't have time to take lunch."
"I don't miss that."
"This job is getting more and more stressful."
"That's one of the reasons I quit IAB besides my relationship with Olivia. I'm glad we've remained close."
"You and Hank have become pretty good friends too."
"Yep. He's a good guy and I'm glad that he and Liv are happy."
"I'm glad you've become good friends with Al too. These people were basically my family and helped me raise my daughter."
"What happened with Al, Meredith and their daughter?"
"She's just rebellious. I'm hoping this doesn't happen with this one."
"She's a good kid."
"So was Lexi. She was very close to Justin."
"I was close to both of them but I can't really see myself acting like Lexi."
"You say that now."
"Before I moved here, I tried contacting her but she didn't return any of my calls. Uncle Al made a mistake but Aunt Meredith obviously forgave him."
"What happened?"
"Al was undercover and had an affair, which resulted in another daughter. He hasn't seen her in a while though."
"Is that how Hank ended up with Erin?"
"As he puts it, he was young and stupid and it happened before Camille. I'm just a little bit younger than Hank, Al and Trudy but we've all known each other a long time."
"How long have Trudy and her husband been married?"
"They'll be married 2 years this year but the way they bicker back and forth, you'd think they've been married longer. Mouch is a great guy."
"What's his real name?"
"Randy McHolland. He got the nickname of Mouch because he loves to sit on the couch at the fire station and watch TV."
"He's a man who loves the couch."
"Exactly. Put them together and you get Mouch."
"That'll do it."
They got their food and then everyone ate. After lunch, they went back to the room to get ready for the water park. Noah and Rachel wanted to talk to Hank and Olivia, so Diana called before they went down. Back at Hank and Olivia's they were still pretty much in bed. Hank had gotten up to get them something to eat and let the dogs out.
"We're lazy today, aren't we?"
"Isn't that the point?"
"Yes. I love spending the day in bed with you."
We could sit in the hot tub."
"Yes, we could. Swimsuits?"
"What's the point of that?"
"I love how you think, Hank Voight."
They got up, put their robes on and went down to the hot tub. They took their robes off before Hank helped Olivia get in and then he got in himself. They sat down and relaxed before they started kissing. They ended up making love again.
"I love how frisky you are today."
"Oh, you do, huh?"
"Yep. I wouldn't change my life now for anything. I love you so much."
"I love you too."
They started kissing again and relaxed in each other's arms. They stayed that way for a little while longer and then they headed back into the house. They got a call from Olive asking if they wanted to meet her and Trevor at the Pub for dinner. They agreed and set the time before getting into the shower and getting dressed. Once they were ready and it was time to go, they left. When they arrived, they parked and met them outside.
"Hey."
"Hello."
"Are you enjoying your time to yourselves?"
"Oh, yeah. We haven't done a whole lot."
"We know the feeling. My parents have the kids this weekend. We thought it might be more of an incentive to actually getting into the shower and getting dressed if we had a reason to."
"That sounds like us. Hank made lunch but we've stayed in bed all day except for letting the 3 dogs out and relaxing in the hot tub. Diana called, so the kids could talk to us."
"Good."
They went in.
"Hey."
"Hey. Sit anywhere you want."
"Thanks."
Olivia chose their usual table and then the 4 of them sat down. Patty put their order in and came back with their drinks.
"Thanks."
"Yep. How are you feeling, Olive?"
"I'm going great so far. At least the morning sickness has subsided."
"I had more morning sickness with my girls than I did with the boys. It was the worst with Shauna. I missed so much with her this last decade especially the birth of my grandson. I owe my big brother so much for getting her to come home. I just feel so bad that she had to raise her son by herself."
"She told me once that her mother was very stubborn."
"She'd be right."
Then Colleen came over.
"All 6 of them are stubborn. Just like their father."
"I heard that!"
"Junior knew that he wanted at different path for his life by the time he was in high school. We had hoped he would have changed his mind but he didn't. We accepted it and he still worked here throughout college and when he had time once he became a cop. Once the promotions started happening and he went to Internal Affairs, he had even less time to be here."
"How did what happened a couple years ago affect your relationship with Eugene's parents?"
"His mother and I are sisters and we have always been close. She even said there was something not quite right with him even at a young age and he hid behind the collar thinking he could get away with it. She called me many times in that time to see if I had heard from Junior. We always see her for the holidays, so she was really excited to see him. She even got to meet Diana and Kara."
"Like that time when Eugene broke the window at Grandma's and blamed Eddie for it. Grandma knew he was lying."
"She adored Junior."
"Once that case was over and Eugene went to prison, Ed said that son of a bitch got what he deserved. Except he said something else with it."
"I'm sure I know what he said."
"Yeah, me too. That's the same word I used when I heard what was going on."
"I think we all did."
"Shauna knew about it when we went to see her in Chicago and asked Ed what was going on with him. Obviously it was all over the news."
"I don't think Eugene realized how much he messed this family up when he did what he did. My sisters sent their kids to Parochial school all through high school. Ours went up to 8th grade and then we let them decide if they wanted to continue. All 6 of them chose to attend public high school."
"My kids and all of my nieces and nephews did the public schools."
"They're all great kids."
"Thanks."
"I never would have guessed Ed went to Parochial school. He seemed so out of place at my former Sergeant's funeral when we were in church. I was too."
"When he got older, he wasn't as interested in going to church. He's just like his father. When he got married the first time, she wanted a big church wedding, so they had one. I blame her completely for how the marriage ended. For a while, he would go on holidays, which is all I asked of him but he won't even do that now."
"When we were at the church for Mike's funeral, Ed was figuring the roof was going to cave in because he was there."
"I'm surprised he went."
"He was one of the pallbearers. He spent more time fixing the medals on his uniform and making sure there was no fuzz on it or looking at his watch than he did anything else."
"That sounds like him. He always was fidgety in church."
"Shauna was the same way."
"Is Shauna still planning to move in with Ed and Diana when she moves here?"
"They're moving in with us instead. She wasn't quite ready to live with her parents."
"At least we'll get to see our grandson. At least we're getting along better than we were. Jeff is such a sweet guy."
"He really is."
"Jeff and I have talked a lot, since I moved here because we have pretty much been through the same thing. We were both hesitant about getting into new relationships so soon after losing our spouses but we both agree that our respective kids deserve to have another parent. This single-parent stuff is so hard."
"I can understand that. I hate that Shauna had raise that little boy on her own."
"It's better than her having to put up with a guy that's just going to cheat on her."
That's true. I don't tolerate that at all."
"None of us do."
Patty went to get their food and brought it back.
"What's sad is I get more support from Hank, Olivia, Erin and Jay in my relationship with Trevor than I do from my sister and brothers. My sister is a spoiled little bitch. She's pissed that my parents moved here."
"Who's older?"
"She is. I'm the youngest of the 4 of us. My sister thinks I'm only with Trevor because he has money and I was living with my father-in-law, just so someone could support me and my kids. That is so far from the truth. My parents liked Justin but all my siblings basically thought he was a loser. My sister and I got into it loudly in the washroom at my dad's retirement party. She basically called me a gold digger and I told her she should talk. At least I know how to be independent and provide for my kids. She's never worked a day in her life. Trevor and I left and I know for a fact that's when I got pregnant."
"It's your choice, not your sister's."
"Exactly. My sister thinks nothing of spending the entire day at the salon getting her hair and nails done or going shopping with our sisters-in-law. Her husband makes the money and she spends it. I have to work to support my kids and I don't always have the time to get my hair cut. Even though she doesn't work, she has to have a nanny for her kids."
"Babe, you don't have to worry about any of that anymore. You want to spend my money, go ahead. If you want to quit working after the baby comes, I'm fine with that. If you want to continue working, I'm fine with that too."
"Why do I feel like none of this is real?"
"We already know the baby is real. We've had an ultrasound done. Our next appointment we find out the sex."
"What are you hoping for?"
"I want another daughter."
"Either one is fine with me."
Olive was starting to look upset.
"What's wrong?"
"What if you change your mind about me?"
"I'm not going to. I'm in this relationship 100%. This is the most serious relationship I have ever been in. Believe me when I say this, my feelings for you and your kids are very real."
Olive got up and went into the bathroom. Olivia got up and went after her.
"What did I say?"
"Women are just very hormonal when they're pregnant. You said nothing wrong."
"I meant what I said."
"I know you did. It means a lot to me that you are as protective of her as you are."
"I always will be. I wanted to talk to you anyway. If it's ok with her and you, I'd like to at least start the papers to formally adopt them. You and Olivia will always be their grandparents and you will be grandparents to our baby as well."
"I'm fine with that but the decision is hers."
"I know it is. I just don't want her to doubt me when I tell her I love her and the kids. I know she'll always love Justin and I'm fine with that."
"I still love Camille and Olivia knows that."
"A part of me feels that she isn't 100% in this relationship."
"She's the only one that can answer that but I don't think she would have moved in with you if she didn't want to be with you in some way."
Olivia and Olive came back.
"You ok?"
"Yeah. I'm just a little insecure about us."
"You don't have to be. Are you 100% in this relationship?"
"Yes. I'm just scared that you're not."
"I am. Trust me. I'm kind of scared about becoming a father because of my past."
"If it makes a difference, the kids are crazy about you."
"Do you have a problem with me starting the paperwork to officially adopt them?"
"No."
"He asked me and I said the decision was yours."
"I'm ok with that."
"Good."
"If there is anything we can do to help with the wedding, don't hesitate to ask. We do catering too."
"We know the wedding is going to be in the Hamptons."
Colleen went to get Olive and Trevor their catering menu.
"We also do the bar too and my youngest son DJ's parties and weddings."
"We will keep that in mind. Thank you."
"You're welcome. When is the wedding?"
"June 16th."
"Where is the honeymoon going to be?"
"Paris. At least that's what we talked about."
"I already booked it."
"That'll be romantic."
"Paris definitely is romantic. When Ed and I were together, he offered to take Noah and me but I was trying to figure out my feelings for Hank in the meantime. When Diana wanted suggestions on what to get Ed for his birthday last year, I suggested that. She invited the 4 of us to go with them. I broke my foot on Mother's Day weekend, so I was still hobbling around. She had also made arrangements to go to Disneyland Paris but I decided I didn't want to go. She and Ed took Noah and Rachel, while Hank and I spent time alone. The two of them went to one of the Wineries for an overnight trip and Kara stayed with us. Paris was actually their honeymoon but it wasn't much of one. They did do the cruise, which they seemed to both enjoy."
"Most of the family is going to Ireland in July."
"That's what we heard. They already asked us if we can dog sit. Is Shauna going?"
"She's not but we're taking Eddie. She doesn't want to start her new job and then take time off already."
"That makes sense."
"Any dessert?"
"I do."
"Me too."
"Bring another fork for his."
"His too."
Patty brought their dessert and Hank shared his with Olivia, while Trevor shared his with Olive. Once they were done, Trevor paid the bill. They said goodbye to the Tucker clan and they headed outside. They 4 of them said goodnight and headed home. As soon as Trevor and Olive got home, they called her parents to talk to the kids and then they made love. When Hank and Olivia got home, they let the dogs out before going upstairs to make love.
The next couple days were basically the same. Hank and Olivia pretty much spent both days in bed but got up to let the dogs out, eat or spend time in the hot tub. By Tuesday evening, Erin, Jay and Camille came back. The rest of the week went by quickly. Before they knew it, Ed and Diana would be bringing Noah and Rachel home and Olivia would be returning to work on Monday.
