After an exhaustive love-making session in the wine cellar of Wayne Manor, Black Mask took particular notice of Beth's eyes. "You have your father's eyes," he noted.

"Is that really the kind of thing you want to tell a girl?" Beth mocked.

"You talk too much," Black Mask scolded. He got up and put his white bathrobe on. He had worn his mask on during their marathon sex session like a total creeper. "You've earned your freedom. Go."

"I think I should stay seeing as how I'm actually the one blood-related to Wayne. Also, I'm not your sex slave," Beth told him off. "You should take your mask off every so often. Or else your skin will become unnaturally pale."

"I'll be fine. You, on the other hand, will be minus one tongue if you make public our little arrangement," Black Mask threatened.

"Don't threaten me with a good time," Beth rolled her eyes.

"My man will see you out," Black Mask said referring to Deathstroke as he walked down the steps into the cellar.

"What's she still doing here?" Deathstroke asked.

"Yes, we're both very confused why you're still here," Black Mask said rudely.

"I'll see myself out," Beth said angrily as she took her clothes with her.

That night, a rich guy in his expensive car came upon a snakebite drug dealer. He bulked as soon as he saw the blue coloring of the syringes. "What is this? The Smurf addition? It's supposed to be red and yellow, asshole."

"The cook had to make some modifications," he said nonsensically.

Before they could go into the chemistry of why and how an injection would be colored blue, a Batarang hit the syringe sending it flying. The drug dealer went running realizing he was on death's door. A cable hook sliced all the way through his torso and pulled him back where he slammed into the windshield of the rich guy's car.

"Bitch," the drug dealer grumbled.

Batwoman grabbed the drug dealer and slammed him to the ground detaching the cable from her projectile cable gun. "Call me a bitch one more time, mother-fucker, and I will...," Beth began and then realized he was already dead.

She then noticed the rich guy take off with the syringe on foot. Beth took chase entering an abandoned creepy church with snakebite syringes all over the floor. She switched to night vision and noticed a collection of homeless people sleeping on the floor. "Hello. I just want to help you," Beth lied. "No judgment."

Beth then eyed a woman with blood all over her hands and face. She was in the middle of cannibalizing the rich guy. "Well...shit, I might have to judge this."

The woman's eyes turned to snake slits as she continued to feast. Beth quickly took out her pistol and blasted her several times. Immediately, the homeless people were awake and startled. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this is now a crime scene. So, everyone get the fuck out," Beth ordered.

The next morning, the news media made sure to offend Catholics by making non-stop zombie church jokes. At the Black Mask club, Black Mask hosted two GCPD captains in his office on the second floor. As usual, he wore his mask. "What can I do for you, gentlemen?" Black Mask asked with a laptop in front of him.

"Rumor has it that the new snakebite is turning people into flesh-eating zombies. This was not part of our arrangement," the police captain told him.

"Drug making is not an exact science. What do I look like? Walter white?" Black Mask excused.

"None-the-less, we have to look like we give a shit. You have to give us something," the other police captain said.

"How about a...street-rat and a crooked Crow agent?" Black Mask suggested and then showed a surveillance video of them hanging out together in the bar. "They're black, female, gay, and liberal."

"God damn, I think we got ourselves a bingo," the first captain said pleased.

GCPD officers barged into the club and immediately arrested Ryan Wilder and Sophie Moore. They slammed them up against the bar and placed them in handcuffs. "What the fuck?" Ryan and Sophie said together.

The GCPD cops proceeded to give them their Miranda rights. "What's the charge?" Sophie demanded.

"For resisting arrest," he told her.

Ryan and Sophie gave incredulous looks as they were hauled out of the bar and sent to jail.

(Bars must follow noise violation regulations. Failure to comply can result in a fine and being arrested. Fundraisers must also have a permit. Ryan resisting arrest is not clear from the video since the officer didn't make his intention known to arrest her at that point. However, it's clear from the video that Luke is trying to assist Ryan against the officer which is going to get him charged for assaulting an officer/obstruction. There may also be some good-faith confusion as to whether Luke is a co-manager or something since he went out of his way to address the officers as if he were in charge when he was not. As for selective enforcement, the GCPD has to act if they receive a complaint. That said...for a city of that size, the police would probably make it a low priority and not immediately escalate the situation. This is also the GCPD which can never be considered "typical" for any police department. They have been shady as fuck since the very beginning.

Additionally, the bar security cameras may or may not record audio which may or may not exonerate the bar. The surveillance cameras aren't going to sufficiently record the decibels in a satisfactory way. Sophie refusing to comply with a police order to leave the premises and getting in the lead officer's face is a legit arrest. But even if said noise was totally fabricated, the fundraiser was still illegal. Furthermore, a convicted felon of drug trafficking (Ryan Wilder) cannot obtain a liquor license in the state of NY unless she or the owner goes through a bunch of hoops that may or may not have occurred here. This concludes this ball-busting service announcement.)

Beth showed up to her shrink appointment with Dr. Wong with a pessimistic attitude. "These conversations of ours are so damn awkward, Dr. Wong. I think it's time I moved on, find a new therapist. Someone who actually gives a damn about me."

"That's for me to decide," Dr. Wong shut her down.

"My sister is alive somewhere...out there, probably brainwashed into who knows what," Beth said frustrated.

"Why do you give a damn?" Dr. Wong asked.

"Help me not to kill you right now?" Beth raged.

Dr. Wong casually took out a pistol and pointed it at her. "Sit down," she ordered.

Beth reluctantly complied. "The Kate you remember is gone. You are now Kate Kane. Take Kate's clothes and start wearing them," Dr. Wong advised.

"I don't really want to be Kate Kane," Beth resisted.

"Well, it's better than what you are now," Dr. Wong said dismissively.

"Damn," Beth said offended. "You know what I do have? The keys to her motorcycle. You see, I was the first to walk, talk, and wear a training bra. But when it came to her stupid bike, Kate was first."

"And this provokes you?" Dr. Wong sensed.

"Last year, she got on her bike and took off. She became free of this city, free of my overbearing father, free of the burden of having to save me, the irredeemable sister," Beth said resentfully.

"Wherever Kate is, she is not free. She is not free of the ideological prison she has put herself in. The symbol of Bat continues to haunt her. Do not envy her," Dr. Wong advised.

Ryan was hauled into the interrogation room. The investigator gave her a no-nonsense look. "We have reason to believe you're Batwoman," he said seriously.

"I'm black," Ryan said obviously.

"Here, at the GCPD, we're color blind. We don't see race," the investigator said.

"So full of shit," Ryan shook her head dismayed.

"You should be thanking us, Miss Wilder. It's safer in your jail cell than outside, right now," the interrogator said dryly.

"Why is that?" Ryan asked confused.

"Something about a zombie apocalypse," the interrogator shrugged. The GCPD then turned on the Bat signal on their own accord for the first time in two years.

At the Crows nest, Kate addressed the Crow agents. "All the attacks are in a four-block radius of Presbyterian. We have been given clearance by the GCPD to go outside our jurisdiction. Find the users and wipe them out. All of them."

Crow agents immediately organized SWAT teams to clear the area. Meanwhile, Batwoman arrived in the middle of it inside the church. She fired a projectile cable gun at one of them forcing him towards her and then slit his throat with a Batarang. A few dozen zombies immediately went to attack her. Beth took out a pistol and fired into a woman's head. Beth quickly moved on the zombies, shooting one man in the head in front of her, turning to the left to shoot an old man with a cane, and turning right to shoot another in the head. Beth pushed a zombie man back towards a pew and shot him in the head. She went low to avoid being hit and shot a man in the gut. When that didn't take him down, she grabbed the man by the throat and shot him in the head.

Beth avoided a zombie man's swing, held him in place, and shot another man in the head advancing towards her. She proceeded to rotate around using the zombie she was holding as a human shield as she shot another man in the head. Suddenly, a man hit Beth to the back with a piece of wood. Beth twisted her arm behind herself to shoot that man and threw her human shield to the floor. Beth quickly reloaded her pistol, bent low, and threw a zombie man over her shoulder. A zombie man then took hold of Beth's arm for a few seconds. Beth struggled with the man shooting up into the ceiling. She eventually freed herself of the man and shot him in the head.

A zombie woman charged at Beth at the same time. Beth held the woman while shooting another man in the head. She proceeded to quickly shoot the woman she was still holding in the head and avoided the wild swings of another man. To get some distance between her and the zombies, Beth kicked a few pews over trapping some of them. She fired into the cheek and out the other side of a trapped zombie. Leaping over the pews, she came down, shot a man in the head that was charging her, and then slammed into another man taking him to the floor. She wrestled with that man for a few seconds before firing into his head.

As Beth reloaded, another zombie tried to stab her with a wooden cross. Beth shot him in the head, flipped forward, and engaged another man in judo before shooting him in the gut. Beth tossed the wounded man over her shoulder to the floor. Beth shot another man to the back of the church in the head and sliced a wooden pole in half with her arm blades before it could hit her. She took the jagged edge of the pole and rammed into a zombie's chest.

Out of bullets at this point, Beth resorted to hand-to-hand combat and became overwhelmed. She was thrown into the organ pipes. Beth quickly recovered and used everything at her disposal. She kicked a zombie into a pillar, snapped necks, and thrashed others with communion cups and candlesticks. At one point, she took a Bible and beat a zombie man down with it. Taking her butterfly knife, she stabbed one to the eye, took it out, and stabbed another one in the scalp killing them both. She punched a man several times to the face and kicked out a stain-glass window. Taking out her gaslighter, she lit a zombie man's hair on fire. Upon realizing she had a second loaded pistol, Beth began firing again taking out several in quick succession.

Three zombies tried to ram a wooden pole into Beth but couldn't penetrate her armor. She disarmed them of the pole and sliced through all three of them like a shish kabab. She took hold of a zombie, placed a grenade in his pocket, and rammed his head into the piano breaking his neck. Beth then took a fire ax and nearly beheaded a zombie woman. The grenade exploded blasting the piano apart and any zombies around it. Beth effectively whirled her fire ax slicing into several zombies before resorting back to her pistol. She fired her pistol a few more times killing some more and ran out of bullets. After pistol-whipping a few to the floor, she disassembled the pistol and sliced it into zombie necks with the jagged edge.

"Before anyone thinks...they can talk shit...about me killing all of you...in a church...know that I'm Jewish," Beth said panting for breath.

Beth casually walked outside the church and saw GCPD and Crows firing on the remaining zombies clearing each room of hostiles. With the amount of gunfire, it was like a warzone. One particular GCPD cop got too close to a zombie and got bitten. Beth threw a Batarang slicing into the zombie's throat killing him. As it happened, Mary put a lot of effort into trying to treat the poor bastard only for Beth to take him out.

"Thank God. I don't know what I would do if not for you," the cop said gratefully to Beth.

Beth walked up to him with a serious expression on her face. "One cop died and another cop got injured because they got too close to a white man zombie. It's not enough that you treat minorities like shit. You must treat everyone like shit, equally," Beth lectured him.

"Right," the cop nodded.

Beth then used her projectile cable gun to exit the area.

Sophie was finally let out of jail and stormed into the Crows nest, not in uniform. She entered the commander's office to find Kate on the computer. "So...how can I help you?" Kate asked.

"I quit," Sophie said flatly.

"Whatever could be the matter?" Kate rolled her eyes.

"I can't be a part of this white supremacist organization anymore," Sophie said.

"The commander is Jewish, I'm Jewish, and you're black. Who in our ranks is the white supremacist?" Kate wondered.

"Well, what about our donors?" Sophie said vaguely.

"When have they affected our operations other than providing security to VIP events?" Kate asked.

"Some of our agents have acted inappropriately," Sophie brought up.

"Yes, and they're all of different races and genders," Kate said.

"I got arrested by GCPD just for being black," Sophie said outraged.

"We're not the GCPD," Kate said obviously.

"Yeah, well, we're all part of the system. It's systemic...and shit," Sophie said incoherently.

"The fact remains is that you lied to the US Air Force about your sexual orientation throwing me under the bus. My father hired you to spite me. And for while, I took that personally. But now, I know you lied about the Clue Master case to become a field agent. You constantly go it alone and get captured making yourself a liability. You associate yourself with criminals. You don't follow orders and no one in the nest respects you. Had you been here today, you would have ordered the men to use non-lethal force against fucking zombies. And no one would have followed it. You have lost the faith of the commander and your men countless times. You've put your own romantic needs above law and duty. At what point do you admit to yourself that it's not because I'm Black, it's because I'm a total fuck-up?" Kate asked.

"Well, you're not clean either," Sophie said lamely.

"I'm still here striving to be better," Kate said defensively.

"Well, maybe that's not good enough. Maybe there's a reason why Black Mask and snakebite haven't been eradicated from this city," Sophie said angrily.

"You implying Black Mask has ties to this organization?" Kate challenged.

"I'm not implying anything. I'm flat out telling you. Whoever this Black Mask is, he must have some sort of protective status because I cannot believe this incompetence. The reason I go alone is that no one here is interested in taking that mother-fucker down," Sophie said passionately.

"As acting commander, I accept your resignation," Kate said dismissing her.

Ryan also got let out of jail once the GCPD determined she wasn't Batwoman. Disgruntled and pissed-off, she noticed a car thief trying to get into a car. She got into an argument with him as a Crow van came up. During the stop, Ryan pulled out her black smartphone from her jacket to show the agent she wasn't making shit up. The agent confused the smartphone with a pistol and shot her three times. Ryan went to the ground severely wounded.

Meanwhile, Beth entered the Bat-Cave with blood all over her suit. She took off her cowl and washed her face of blood and dirt with a towel. "Did we get them all?" she asked Brainiac 5.

"Unknown at this time but the area has been contained," Brainiac 5 said.

"I'm thinking Black Mask has gone too far this time," Beth said resentfully.

"The new formula was a mistake. No doubt, he will correct it to ensure this doesn't happen again," Brainiac 5 assumed.

"No, I was talking about him unceremoniously kicking me out of Wayne Manor after I slept with him. He's such a bastard," Beth said pissed off.

"How was therapy?" Brainiac 5 asked curiously.

"Shitty. I can't be my true self. I'm now wearing Kate's face now," Beth complained.

"In fairness, Kate no longer has the face you're wearing," Brainiac 5 said knowingly.

"Creepy as fuck. I don't even want to know what she's up to," Beth said.

Brainiac 5 noticed a new detail and showed a Crow stop. "Ryan Wilder has been shot by a Crow. It may be fatal."

"Barney, this is important to me. You have to save her...so I can keep kicking her ass," Beth said seriously.

"I'll see what I can do," Brainiac 5 replied.

Author's Notes: For some people, bashing cops is what they want to see. For others, they like Law and Order where cops and prosecutors are generally portrayed as the good guys. Every police department has its own policies, training, and way of doing things. Within each department, you have individual officers. You may have some officers that will beat your ass for a noise complaint and another officer that tries to calm you down even though you're already a flesh-eating zombie. These are individual officers making individual actions in particular places at a specific time. What got Ryan, Luke, and Sophie in jail is refusing a lawful order because they wanted to mouth off. The consequence of which is that they were sent to jail and a lot of people died because those three couldn't be heroes when the zombie outbreak first happened. And it is entirely possible to be a victim and also stupid. Case-in-point, the greatest victim of the series: Kate Kane. Luke is the smartest dumbest person there is. You do not engage a car thief, you don't try to stop him, you don't pull out a black cell phone in front of a cop. I hope he doesn't die because I want to make fun of him longer. If he does die, Ryan will still live in Adventures because I need her around still.
