Rushing through the second hallway as I heard the sound of the door slamming open. I had closed it when I heard the hoofsteps hoping they wouldn't immediately come through it. I couldn't see her yet… I just needed some time to think. I didn't get any of the answers I truly desired from whoever that was. While running through the hall I found myself quickly pushing open a door as I heard shouts behind me. Quickly pushing it closed it seemed to shine brightly before being replaced by a wall. I was breathing heavily from the running as questions ran through my mind about what happened.

Quickly shaking the questions from my mind I began to hurry down the hallway, unknowing where it was going before I found myself in a large library. Bigger than the one that was at the entrance. I looked around in awe as I found myself feeling an unknown kind of pressure. It felt like my entire body was nearly suffocating.

I couldn't move… yet it felt like something was pushing me forward…

And my body complied before my mind did…

I found myself like a simple rider on a wagon as it moved through the bookshelves lined with hundreds maybe thousands of books before I found myself standing in front of a random bookshelf. Wondering why and how I found myself here my eyes widened. I was staring at a shelf with books seeming to pertain to a single subject.

Magical Storms…

But some of the books here looks like ones that would be found in museums. Some look to be newer though. But maybe they may hold the answer… all of what was happening to me began during a Magical Storm so why not give it a try. Pulling out one of books that I could actually understand I simply walked over to a nearby bench and sat down. Opening the book I began to try and find out anything that could explain my situation.

Almost immediately I found sort of an answer. Unicorns born without magic have had instances during a Magical Storm where they suddenly find themselves with magic befitting their age. Although it has caused some problems with magical accidents and their own control over magic it gave them the ability they weren't gifted with at birth. They had been required to attend a magic academy to learn the dangers of their newly obtained magic.

Its hard for unicorns not born with magic to get used to magic flowing through their bodies despite the magic lines growing in their body naturally. While a unicorn only has magic lines to their horn… they could also get said lines to grow all along their body through constant application of magic. It's a painful process that was only really used in the dark ages.

The Magical Storm caused this process to happen with the use of magic during its occurrence. Nopony knows why although there are big theory's surrounding it, although not are in this book, that have been formed over centuries of continuous study. Maybe I should look into that theory book next? Regardless I needed to see if this book knew anything more could be answered. I continued reading until I found an entire chapter talking about the storm concerning Alicorns.

It talked about how they would feel a slight tingle as their magic seemed restless and wild. Causing a early heat to occur almost whenever a magical storm happens and they are in proximity of it. The closer they are to the eye of the storm the more intense the heat. Especially if it concerns those they are close to.

until I once again heard hoofsteps…

And fear filled me once again… I didn't even notice I dropped the book until I heard a loud thud and froze. "it came from over here!" immediately I could hear the sound of hooves hitting the wooden floor and armor clanging against its separate pieces. Rushing through the bookshelves I noticed a pair of stairs which I quickly rushed up as I heard the sounds of wings behind me. "Miss Hooves wait!"

Running out through a open door that shut behind me I could hear them all yelling for me to stop as they banged on the door. Thankful to whatever has been helping me I rushed down the halls before hearing a loud blast behind me. Not looking back I once more heard the sounds of hooves chasing after me. "Derpy wait!" I could hear Celestia yell behind me. Dashing through a door as soon as I could I found myself in a large storage room filled with crates and pots. Hiding behind a crate I could hear some form of arguing happening behind the door that had for the third time closed behind me before I heard it slowly open. "Derpy…"

My breath hitched…

"Please… I need to explain…"

It's her…

"I just need you to please listen to me."

Am I ready?

"Derpy… please tell me you're here at least…"

Can I stand up to her?

"please… answer me…"

"I'm… here…" I nearly whispered as I heard a relieved sigh.

"will you… allow me to explain?" she then asked.

"please." I answered.

"you must first of all understand that I was thinking keeping it hidden was for your safety. Politics is something that is very dangerous in Canterlot. Say the wrong thing at the wrong moment and everypony would be against them. There is a reason for my serious antics whenever I am in public and not in enclosed areas. Not only that but the shock of your ascension would have been high regardless… I would of preferred telling you when you got more used to our… relationship, but regardless I am sorry for not telling you sooner." She spoke up as she moved around the storage room. Silently yet quickly I made my way to the top of a shelf that was covered in shadow. I could now spot her tall stature from where I was.

"but why is this happening to me?" I asked once again, voice not able to be that much higher than a whisper. She stayed silent as I watched her turn around towards where I was hiding but it appears she could not see me.

"I can not explain it… but should you wish it we could put all our resources to finding a way to change you back." She spoke as she made her way towards where I was hiding. "all you need to do is say the word." Her answer from me was pure silence as I thought of my choices. "Derpy?"

"I… need to think…" I spoke up as she gave a small smile.

"as long as you need to." She simply answered as she started to look around for me once more. What should I do? Was there even a way to reverse what was happening to me? I mean whoever I was talking to earlier was saying how it took those of higher power to make me what I am. If I went back to being a normal Pegasus I could go back to my normal mailmare job. But what would that mean with me and the princess? Would she even love me anymore?

How long had she known I was turning into a alicorn?

When did it truly begin?

Does she even…

"Love me?"

"I do love you Derpy." I froze. Did I accidentally say it out loud? "I know what your thinking because I love you. We may not of been together long but even I know what your going through at the moment due what has happened since I met you. Your insecurities of being worth it for one… and you did speak out loud at least a couple words if that's what your wondering." She chuckled as I gave a small smile past the tears going down my face before a sad frown replaced it. "you are worthy Derpy. I know you so well despite being with you for such a small amount of time that you immediately went back to thinking about your current problem." I could see the sad smile on her face as she moved through and isle of shelves a few away from me.

"what would be expected of me?" I then asked her. I could see her pause as well as hear her give a small gasp. "cause knowing the nobles of Canterlot they wouldn't want a princess doing menial things… even if it is me…"

"whatever you desire." I was confused by this statement. "the only reason me and my sister are their rulers is because we knew we would be the best ones to lead them. Being immortal we could learn from our mistakes and being powerful meant we could protect them." My breathing hitched slightly at the mention of her being immortal. "my niece Cadance helps couples with their problems with one another. Its all a matter of what you want to do. The nobles of Canterlot cannot deny you that regardless of what they may say. While they may be hurt about it and it will take time for them to get used to it."

"what about… me and you?" she was going down the aisle the shelf I was on top of was.

"I will always love you Derpy… regardless of what the nobles say and demand that will never change." I found myself shaking a small bit at her words as tears once more flowed down my face. She was right under me as she stopped and continued talking. "from one end of the world to another."

I could hear a small creaking underneath me.

"from one era to the next."

I started hearing cracks as I started to look around frantically.

"my love for you will remain forever…"

And then the shelf I was on broke.
