-Day 62: Misaki Usui (2)-

Misaki took a break from her work to walk around the embassy with Bridget to see the progress they had been making with her changes. So far it was going good considering how many of the employees were against it but no one wanted to be fired so they all complied in the end. There was a handful of employees who were already warming up to Misaki and seeing her vision of what she had planned. There were some who pretended to be friendly thinking they could have a relationship with someone from the raven castle outside of work. Some had no opinion about what was happening as they just wanted to do as they were told and go home at the end of the day. There were still a great number of people who didn't like her changes and felt like she was just for show.

"Good afternoon Mrs. Usui and Bridget," Employees greeted as they walked by her. It was rude not to do so no matter how some felt.

"Good afternoon," Misaki and Bridget both replied.

"Things seemed to run much better Mrs. Usui. Before, it took me an entire day to get a file but now it takes around an hour," Bridget commented taking note of how effective Misaki was already.

"It should be shorter but it's progress," Misaki responded. There was still much to do to reach a better standard but she wanted to do one thing at a time rather than overwhelming everyone.

"I've been talking to a few people and a few of their opinions about you have shifted. It seems like the person before you just let everyone did as they pleased and there was no sense of order. That's why some of the employees like Kei are worried about what you'll do. They think you're putting on a show and then later you'll stop pretending. I don't think it's right to judge you the same as anyone they had before you," Bridget stated knowing that Misaki wasn't like what they thought. She only knew Misaki for seven days but that was enough time for her to know Misaki truly cared about her job and wanted to improve the embassy.

"It's okay for them to judge me as long we all get our work done. I didn't come here to make friends or put on a show for anyone. I would love a better work environment where everyone has enough respect and faith in each other but I've only been for eight days while a lot of them have been here for years and might have been let down by their superiors. We have a year to work things out so let's hope the future shows improvement in that area. I wouldn't want anyone to feel like they can't approach me," Misaki stated her honest opinion to Bridget. She knew Bridget was trying her best to connect the employees to Misaki and brought up any concerns or queries the employees had to Misaki.

"Some want to approach you but you're their boss and they're still trying to understand the type of person you are plus you are involved with the raven castle which is a big deal so it scares them. Maybe a gathering for everyone outside of work would help?" Bridget suggested.

"Hmmm. Great idea. I'll plan it out," Misaki agreed to Bridget's great idea. "What on earth..." Misaki muttered seeing something in the back corner of one of the offices she was walking by. She hurried off to stop it right away.

There were two people standing in the back corner of the office by a photocopier while others looked on. It was a man and a woman.

Misaki approached the duo and instantly grabbed the man's hand from touching the woman. "What do you think you're doing? Step away from him," Misaki told the woman who hurried to Misaki's side.

"T-Thank you, Mrs. Usui," The woman thanked her.

"It's not appropriate to touch women when they clearly don't want to be touched, mister Abe," Misaki looked around the office at the people who just stood by. Most of them were women. "It seems like this wasn't the first time. You've been abusing that you're their superior and doing this."

"Let go of my hand. I did nothing!" Abe who was in his late forties said. Why was this woman in here now?

"Has he ever been reported?" Misaki asked the woman named Hana.

"Yes but he always got away with it so it was pointless," Hana replied wondering if this might be the end of him, or would Abe be left off the hook again? However, Mrs. Usui looked really angry.

"Stop lying you bitch. You came unto m-Ah," He screamed when Misaki twisted his arm. "Hey!"

"Get the guards Bridget. I want him escorted out of here and reported. Today is his last day," Misaki ordered.

Bridget ran off to do as she was told.

"You're going to fire me over this?" Abe said in disbelief. Wasn't that a bit much? Surely he could talk her out of it. He always did.

"I'm not too kind to harassment and no one feeling unsafe in their job. You and the people who let you do as you please are disgusting and I will investigate it to the end," Misaki said not allowing him to get away with this. She knew he was here for about four years so that could be four years of harassment.

"You bitch," Abe said raising his other hand to slap Misaki but she caught it and twisted it. She turned him around, pushed his foot forward, causing him to fall to the ground. She followed after him, holding his hands and keeping him on the ground till the guards came. "I'll sue you!"

"Please do," Misaki responded. She heard the sound of heels and other footsteps run into the room. She looked up to see Bridget with the guards. There also seemed to be an audience outside.

"We'll take it from here Mrs. Usui," The guard said taking Abe from Misaki.

"I'll sue all of you," He screamed as he was being taken out.

"Thank you," Hana thanked Misaki. She couldn't believe he was truly fired.

"I'm sorry it took so long to happen," Misaki responded and then took note of the look in the eyes of the women in the room.

Why did this feel so familiar she wondered.

"So cool," All the women thought.

A/N: Keeping it a bit like Misaki in Seika. I can almost smell my summer vacation!
