Dragon Ball Z: Alternate Love

Chapter 62: Legend of the Super Saiyan.

We once again visit Capsule Corp, as Gohan is playing with Trunks and Goten in the yard, digging some holes for fun.

Goku was sitting nearby.

That's when he heard Gohan say, "dad, we found something!"

Goku got up and walked over to the boys. He saw them looking at some strange glowing blue rock.

Goku picked it up as Bulma went outside.

Bulma, "Goku? What have you got there?"

Goku, "I'm not sure, but-"

Suddenly, Goku was engulfed in a bright light!

Bulma and the others shielded their eyes. When the light faded, Goku was gone, and the stone was on the ground!

Gohan, "dad?!"

Bulma, "Goku!? Crap. Gohan, get your uncle and call the others. I'm hoping Mr. PoPo might know what's going on…."

….

Many years ago

Goku found himself waking up in the middle of nowhere, on a different planet.

It was extremely rocky, with no buildings around nearby.

Goku looked around and yelled, "hello? Gohan? Bulma? Raditz? Anyone?"

That's when Goku heard others approaching.

Goku turned to see who.

Three people flew in front of Goku.

And Goku double-took at what they looked like.

The lead one looked exactly like Vegeta, but more aggressive looking, with various scars and a beard.

The one on his right looked like Fasha, but had an eye patch on, long tangled up hair, and more scars.

And the one on his left looked like Raditz, but with somehow even longer hair.

They all looked hunched over, with brown pelts for clothes.

The lead one asked, "who are you? We don't recognize you from any of the villages!"

Goku thought for a moment.

Goku, "Bardock. My name is Bardock."

The Fasha look alike, "a common Saiyan name."

The Raditz look alike, "where are you from?"

Goku, "I uh, can't remember. My memory is a little foggy right now."

Goku was gonna play the amnesia card, combined with the story of when he hit his head.

The Raditz look alike, "how did you lose your memory?"

Goku, "I think I hit my head. Slipped down a chasm, woke up with pretty much no memory."

The Vegeta look alike, "well, let's hope that memory comes back. Lord knows it wouldn't do any good to have someone with no memory."

Goku nodded and asked, "might I know your names?"

The Fasha look alike, "my name is Rota."

The Raditz look alike, "Tatio."

The Vegeta look alike, "and I am Chief Vegeta. Third of my line."

Goku thought, 'so that's why he looks like Vegeta. These must be my, Vegeta and Fasha's ancestors.'

Goku, "please, can you take me to your village. I might remember someone there."

Tatio, "fine, but no funny business."

Goku, "don't worry. I've been told I'm an awful comedian."

Rota, "heh, good one."

And with that, the four of them headed off.

….

Back in the present.

Bulma, "just where in the Hell is my husband?!"

The tigers were gathered in front of Dende and Mr. PoPo.

Mr. PoPo was inspecting the stone Goku had picked up.

Mr. PoPo, "this is a time stone. There are very few of them. And whoever finds one, are destined to carry out some form of quest that will affect events in the future. So wherever Goku has gone, he is there for a reason. And he shall not return until he is done."

Bulma could only groan as she prayed her husband would return soon.

….

Back in the past.

Goku and the three other Saiyans arrived at a large village.

It was nearly the size of a city.

This society looked somewhat like cavemen, but with a few bits of technology, such as very primitive versions of Saiyan healing pods, a water wheel to generate electricity for the lights around the village, etc.

Chief Vegeta, "welcome to our village."

Tatio, "just try not to cause a scene. We Saiyans have been living in somewhat peace after our war against the Tuffles, and we don't want to break it any time soon."

Rota, "we might not, but there are other Saiyans who wish for a good fight. I guess you could say Tatio and I are the odd ones out."

A few Saiyans bowed as Chief Vegeta walked with the other three.

Goku, "so, how long has this peace been going on?"

Rota, "a few months. But we've been having trouble with this one army that's been growing."

Goku, "army? Do you know who the leader is?"

Chief Vegeta, "he calls himself; Lord Chilled."

Goku felt a familiar chill go up his spine.

Could it be? Chilled? Cold? Cooler? Frieza? There was a connection Goku could clearly see.

Goku, "the name sounds familiar."

Rato, "hey, Bardock? Where did you get those clothes?"

Goku, "oh, uh, I dunno. I was wearing them when I got amnesia."

Tatio, "well hopefully I can get some duds like those."

As they continued walking, Another Saiyan suddenly ran up. They looked like Nappa.

Chief Vegeta, "Appe? What's going on?"

Appe, "two more of those soldiers sent by Lord Chilled."

Chief Vegeta, "I'll see them now. Tatio, Rota, come with me."

They nodded as they followed the chief.

Goku quickly followed, thinking he would be needed in this situation.

Two alien men in very primitive looking Saiyan armor stood before the Saiyan village.

Chief Vegeta approached and asked, "what the Hell do you idiots want now?"

The first one, "to send a message. Lord Chilled wished to make an example of you Saiyans."

Chief Vegeta took a stance, as did Tatio and Rota.

Goku slowly began forming energy into his hands.

Just as one of the soldiers was about to shoot at them with an old looking blaster, Goku sent a burst of energy at them, blowing them into smithereens!

The others double-took as they saw this. The other soldier tried shooting at Goku, but the Saiyan quickly dashed forward and hit the soldier so hard that his head flew clean off!

The others stood in silence for a moment.

Chief Vegeta, "how the blood soaked Hell did you do that?"

Goku, "I…. Dunno…. I must have had a Hell of a lot of training before I lost my memory."

Tatio, "well, you may give us a chance against Chilled."

Goku smiled and said, "I hope so."

Chief Vegeta, "for now, I suggest some rest. We'll take you somewhere to rest for the night."

Rota, "good idea Chief. C'mon Bardock."

Goku nodded as they walked off.

….

Later, we see them seated around a fire in the middle of the village.

Everyone was looking at Bardock.

Chief Vegeta asked, "tell us Bardock, do you remember any of your family or friends?"

Goku, "yes. I was lucky enough to keep memories of those closest to me."

Rota, "may we hear about them?"

Goku nodded and stood up.

Goku, "I have a wife, named Gine. A woman that makes up for her lack of fighting skills, with immense intelligence. We have two boys…. My oldest, Raditz, and my youngest, Kakkarot."

Goku was clearly talking about Bulma, Gohan and Goten, but he had to keep the story up.

Goku, "I have many friends. From another planet or two. Krillin, Tien, Chaotzu, Yamcha, Chi Chi, Launch, Roshi, and many more. I may not remember everything, but I am glad to remember them."

The Saiyans nodded as they continued to feast around the fire.

….

The next day.

Goku stood atop a cliff as he watched a ship that looked like a retro alien ship.

Goku, "that must be him."

Chief Vegeta was standing with Tatio and Rota in the center of the village.

Tatio, "are you sure Bardock can do this?"

Chief Vegeta nodded and said, "I get an incredibly strong vibe from him. Like he's been through countless battles to save others."

Rota, "let's just hope he'll be enough."

As the ship landed, Goku slowly made his way to stand before the village.

Out of the ship came several henchmen.

And in front of all of them was a small figure in a cloak.

Goku felt a chill as he saw the cloaked figure.

They looked like a much shorter version of Frieza/Cooler/King Cold.

Chilled spoke in an icy voice, (no pun inte-, well, okay, yes pun intended.)

Chillded, "WHO are YOU?"

Goku, "I…. Am Bardock. I am a Saiyan. And I'm going to stop you."

Chilled, "heh. You're clearly nuts. Men, take him down."

The henchmen all began running at Goku. But Goku decided not to play things safe. He quickly transformed into his Super Saiyan form, and took down each henchman in quick succession.

Chilled, "what are you? A magician?"

Goku, "I am a living legend. One that will one day reach the wars of my descendants, as well as yours. I am a Super Saiyan!"

Chilled threw off their cloak and grew a bit larger, and yelled, "well then, let's see just how super you are?!"

Chilled and Goku dashed at one another, and began a furious battle!

The ground around them shook like an earthquake!

But unlike the other members of the Frieza family, Goku was winning this battle from beginning to end. He knew every move Chilled did, since they were the same moves that Frieza and Cooler had been taught.

That didn't stop the fight from going on for another several hours, as the area around them got more and more destructive, until Goku finally decided to end the fight!

Goku began gathering as much energy into his hands as he could, and sent an enormous blast of no at Chilled!

The blast was so strong, Chilled couldn't hold it back, and found themselves being carried off into space!

Goku stood there for several moments before he heard a voice say, "it is done. Because of you, the legend will spread, and result in the events you have lived through…."

And with that, Goku vanished in a bright light, leaving all of the Saiyans to stare in confusion.

….

Chilled lay in bed, hooked up to life support. He had been found by one of his ships.

A soldier asked, "how did this happen to you Lord Chilled?"

Chilled said but three words before he collapsed unconscious.

"A Super Saiyan."

….

Chief Vegeta stood in front of a moral the Saiyans painted.

It showed a long Saiyan in torn up orange garb, covered in yellow light, with piercing green eyes standing among debris.

Chief Vegeta, "and so we start a new legend. For a Saiyan who protected us from such a dangerous threat, and disappeared as if by magic itself. The Legendary Super Saiyan!"

The other Saiyans cheered for their new legend.

One that would pass on for many years….

….

Bulma was busy tailoring some training clothes for when Goten was old enough to fight, when she heard a loud noise from outside!

Bulma ran outside, and saw Goku standing there in his torn up clothes.

Bulma, "Goku!"

Goku turned to see Bulma and exclaimed, "Bulma!"

The couple quickly embraced.

Bulma, "what happened? Where did you go?"

Goku, "it's a long story…."

And thus ends another adventure for Goku, with him kick-starting the legend he and his friends/family would fulfill.

MUILucario: sorry, I didn't know how to spell it when I first wrote the story. Also, can you explain the misconception you're talking about?

Saiyan: I'm glad you like the story for the most part. And I tried to change certain characters a little, to make the story work as well as fix some of the major problems they would cause. Such as Goku being smarter, Bulma being less prissy, Chi Chi being WAY less overbearing, Raditz being more honourable, etc. And I'm sorry you don't really like this stuff in the story. Most of the readers asked for me to put this stuff in, and I enjoy writing a lot of this stuff.

And thus, Goku kickstarts the Legend of the Super Saiyan! I felt like him doing it was more fitting, given he was the first of the Saiyans in our story to discover the ability.

Also, the fight between him and Chilled was pretty easy, since Goku is so strong by now, that any member of Frieza's family would be easy to take down.

And I decided to have him meet the ancestors of him and the other Saiyans.

Next time; we shall show how Broly met Cheelai and Leemo, 5 year time skip, Broly arrives on Earth, (the birth of Neiya and Bulla), 5 year time skip, Bojack, (birth of Pan, Bardock and Dende Jr), Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, maybe Buu, and a combo of stuff from GT and Super over the course of 10 to 15 years, (Black Star Dragon Balls, Baby, Tournament of Power, Nega-Goku, etc.)
