The occupants of the javelin all grunted as the craft nearly did a barrel roll.
"No you're banking too hard and putting too much thrust into it, easy the hell up."
"Well sorry Wings but some of us aren't natural born aviators," Green Arrow shot back.
The javelin this time jerked forward.
"Just let Shayera fly!" Huntress called out. "You're going to kill us with goddamn whiplash at this rate."
"No way! I'm supposed to be practicing here. I need fifty hours of flight time to get certified finally."
"Yeah you can practice later without killing us Ollie," Huntress argued.
Shayera took a deep breath before she spoke, "Look we're far out enough into space, exit the hyper-drive," she got out of her seat to walk towards the front. "Just keep it still and going in a straight line alright?"
Green Arrow rolled his eyes as he started pressing buttons, "Yeah, yeah I got this."
The javelin suddenly stopped causing the occupants to get launched forward. Huntress had wisely stayed buckled up.
"Dammit Ollie!" Shayera scowled as she picked herself off the floor. "I said exit hyper-drive not do a dead on stop!" She shook her right hand out and then grimaced as she rubbed her wrist. "Dammit..." she muttered.
"That's why you stay seated and buckle up," Huntress smirked.
Shayera gave her an unamused look, "Shut the hell up Helena."
"Hey I will turn this javelin around!" Oliver looked over his shoulder at the two. "And since I don't even know how to do that we might end up backflipping."
Shayera sighed, "Great that's all we need."
"I do gotta say I sorta missed doing this kind of stuff when I wasn't in the League," Huntress said as she looked out of the javelin window. "Space is pretty cool."
"You weren't worried about leaving Devon with Question?" Shayera asked as she sat next to her.
Huntress waved her off, "Q will be fine with him. What's the worst that can happen?"
"Oh I don't know," Shayera shrugged. "Question making your son a complete paranoid lunatic at only four-years-old?"
Helena rolled her eyes, "No way, he wouldn't. He knows I'd kick his ass if he did."
"And that's why I don't ever have to worry about leaving Alexa with Dinah. The worst Dinah could do is teach her how to really use that Canary scream."
"I think GL should be more concerned about leaving Emma and Rex alone with you than me worrying about leaving Devon with Vic," Huntress casually said to the Thanagarian next to her.
Shayera glared at her, "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Given your motto is 'Shayera smash' I can't believe your kids aren't more destructive and aggressive," Huntress pointed out. "They already have a rather colorful vocabulary thanks to you."
Green Arrow lightly nodded in agreement, "She's got a valid point Wings."
Shayera rolled her eyes, "Please, my kids are well behaved...for the most part. Emma has a slight temper issue and Rex is rather gullible but other than that they're good kids. Now on the other hand, we could have kids that act like Iris."
Oliver whistled, "I'd hate to have a six-year-old that can literally run a hundred miles per hour around the Watchtower. It's bad enough having a three-year-old that can rupture your eardrums when she has a temper tantrum. But any kid of West's was bound to cause problems."
"Iris isn't that bad when Linda is around. The problem is that Wally can't tell her no," Shayera said. "He spoils her too much."
"Funny I seem to recall you not being able to tell your kids no either," Huntress pointed out with a smirk.
"I...I can too tell them no," Shayera began to grow flustered. "I do not spoil them...that much."
"Oh you bashed some kid's nose in at school with your elbow?" Oliver rhetorically asked. "Here's a bowl of ice cream."
"That...that was one time!" Shayera looked away as her cheeks began to turn red from embarrassment.
"You got into the computers and wiped out several dozen files and their backups? No problem have some more ice cream," Oliver added on as Helena snickered.
Shayera frowned, "That only happened once and in our defense Wally was watching them that time and he had his hands full with Iris."
"When did we even let West become the League babysitter?" Oliver asked.
Helena pointed to Shayera, "I blame her. Her and GL started that one."
"He's good with kids. He just..."
"Acts like a kid himself half the time," Green Arrow answered for her.
"So you aren't worried about what they're going to get into while we're gone with Wally watching them?" Huntress asked her.
"Oh Wally isn't watching them today. John was on monitor duty when I left so he has them. Unless he gets called on a League mission than I don't have to worry about Wally having them. I have absolutely nothing to worry about."
"Cool..." the three heard a small voice say in awe. The three turned to see Rex staring out of a javelin window.
"Rex!?" Oliver and Helena both had to admit it was rather amusing to see the panicked stricken look that was on the Thanagarian's normally stoic face.
"So much for worrying about if Wally watches them," Huntress rolled her eyes.
"Uh I guess we have to go back?" Oliver asked as he scratched the back of his head.
"No shit we're going back," Shayera sarcastically replied as she began to push Green Arrow out of his seat. "Move I'm flying."
Beneath the panic that was rapidly overcoming her, Shayera swore to herself that she was going to murder John the second they got back.
