Olive had her next appointment and this one was to find out the sex of the baby. They had an early appointment, so once Jamie got there, they left and then headed to the doctor's office. Trevor parked the SUV, got out and went to help Olive. He took her hand and then they went inside. She signed in and then they sat down. After a while, the nurse came to get them and then did all of Olive's vitals and her weight. The doctor then came in to do the exam and the ultrasound.

"Everything looks good."

She switched it on, so they could hear the heartbeat.

"That is so amazing! That's our baby."

"Yes, it is."

"Do you want to know the sex?"

Olive looked up at Trevor and he nodded.

"Yeah, we do."

"It's a girl."

"A girl. Really?"

"Yep."

Trevor had tears in his eyes as kissed her head and then the doctor made a copy of the sonogram. She cleaned off Olive's belly and then left the room, so Olive could change. Trevor put his hand on her belly and kissed her.

"I love you and our daughter so much."

"I love you too and so do the kids."

They went out to the reception area to make the next appointment, got the copy of the sonogram and then they left to head to work. They arrived at work and Trevor walked her to her office and kissed her before heading up to his own office. Both Adrienne and Dan were there when she walked in.

"How'd it go, kiddo?"

"It's a girl!"

"That's great. I can't wait to meet my great niece when she's born. Have you told your parents yet?"

"No. We came straight here from the appointment. We're meeting Olivia, Erin and Hank for lunch. We'll tell Daniel tonight."

"If you're headed to the Pub, then the whole world will know."

Olive couldn't help but laugh.

"Actually, we're not this time. We seem to be eating there a lot lately. I love the food there but it's nice to go somewhere different every once in a while, so we are having Chinese for lunch."

"That's the story of my life. Even if Erin brings me lunch, it's usually from the Pub."

"Do you think Justin would be happy for you?"

"He didn't want me to spend the rest of my life alone. He wanted me to find someone, who would take care of us. At first, the age difference bothered me but now, not so much. I still miss Justin every day but Trevor has been so amazing. He was becoming so emotional when the doctor was doing the ultrasound and we found out it was a girl. He is already an amazing dad. Nikki has him wrapped around her little finger."

"It sounds like you do too. There is nothing that man wouldn't do for you."

"That is so true. I mean, I loved Justin but it's different with Trevor."

"I know how much you loved Justin but I do see how you are with Trevor and it's not just because of his money or how he is in the bedroom. I know and your parents know that isn't the reason you're with him."

"I wish my siblings saw it that way."

"Jessica has always looked down on everyone and she disrespects everyone. Honestly, I don't know how she has stayed married as long as she has. You at least work to take care of your kids. She's never worked a day in her life. Your brothers are just as disrespectful as Jessica is. You're the only one that respects everyone. Sometimes I don't understand how you can come from the same parents as them but it has nothing to do with how Dan and Nicole raised all of you. Jess always thought she was better than everyone else. She's been the same way with Cindy even after all these years and she and Mike have been married for quite a while."

"Yeah, I know."

"Does your other sister have kids?"

"They have two. They've been married over 20 years. Then there's me, who's still single. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. I'm not going to lose any sleep over the fact that I'm close to 50 and not married. Trevor is actually closer to my age than Dan and Nicole's. I've said before that if you didn't want Trevor, I'd take him."

"Nah! He's mine. After talking to Aunt Cindy and Trevor's friend's wife Vicky, it helped me to realize that it was ok to feel the way I do about him. The fact that the kids love him makes it even better."

"Has the baby kicked yet?"

"Not yet. I can't wait for him to feel that though."

Olive put her hand on her belly.

"I think she just kicked."

Olive texted Trevor to tell him that his daughter just kicked. He wanted to come down but she told him there would be plenty of time for that.

"He wants to come down to feel the baby kick but I told him there would be plenty of time for that."

"That is so sweet. Is he adopting the kids before or after you get married?"

"Before and then I will have our last name changed all at once. I am so glad Hank has been as supportive as he has. No matter what happens, he is always going to be Daniel, Nikki and Justin's grandpa and we have already told both him and Olivia that we also want them to be grandparents to this one. Once the adoption is finalized, Denise will be their 3rd grandma, so we decided that we wanted Hank and Olivia to also be grandparents to the baby, especially since her brothers and sister will be spending time with them, she might as well too. Let's face it, I'm closer to Erin than I am my siblings"

"It makes perfect sense and yes, you are closer to Erin than you are your siblings."

"Daniel has even started to call Ed and Diana 'Uncle Ed and Auntie Diana' and he even calls Ed's parents 'Grandma and Grandpa'."

"Everyone does. That's who they are. I married into a great family. They always treat everyone like one of their own."

Dan and Adrienne both went to their offices and Olive started working. Several hours later, it was lunch time. Hank and Olivia had both texted Olive to tell her that Ed, Diana and Jay were joining them. Trevor came down to get Olive and they headed to the restaurant where they were meeting Hank, Olivia and Erin. When they arrived, Trevor got out of his SUV and went to open the door for Olive. He took her hand and then they went inside. Hank and Ed were already there but the others were not.

"Where's everyone else?"

"They're on their way. Olivia, Erin and the rest of the squad had a meeting with Barba about a case they're working on and Jay and Diana were meeting them at the Precinct. How'd everything go this morning?"

"Great. We're having a girl."

"That's great."

"Congratulations!"

"Thanks. Dan and my aunt both know already. I talked to them when I got in this morning. There has already been some movement. Like there is now."

Olive grabbed Trevor's hand and put it on her belly.

"That is so amazing! This is all so real."

They started looking at the menus and then the others came in. Olivia kissed Hank and Diana kissed Ed.

"Sorry we're late. Barba likes to talk."

"No problem. I already told Hank and Ed that we're having a girl."

"Aw! Congratulations!"

"A playmate for Camille!"

"Even if we were having a boy, it still would have been."

"True."

"How's Natalie?"

"She's doing great. They're having a girl too. That was part of the reason we went to Chicago because they decided to get married. Will is in the process of adopting Owen."

"Is Helen ok with that?"

"She wasn't sure how she felt at first but Will wants her to be a grandma to their daughter too. Natalie has her mother but since our mom is gone and Owen already spends so much time with her. She had already offered to help out anyway."

"Daniel and the twins already spend time with Hank and Olivia, so why shouldn't this one?"

"We promise to love her as much as the other 3."

"Will said Helen told him the same thing."

Everyone looked to see what they wanted and ordered their food. Once their food arrived, they ate. During their meal, Diana had the scanner on and there was at situation at a school. It turned out it was Kara's.

"You ok?"

"It sounds like there is something going on at Kara's school."

Diana got a 9-1-1 text from Kara and so did Olivia. Diana called her back and found out what was going on. Once she hung up, she told everyone what was going on.

"Olivia, I'm going to need your squad there. Jay, I will probably need ESU and Ed, you will need to be there because the girls will need someone there with them. You also need to call your sister. Hank, since I'm thinking this could take a while, you will need to pick Brandon up."

"Ok."

"I'll talk to Dan."

"Thanks, Olive."

"Be careful. All of you."

Olivia kissed Hank and then everyone left and headed to wherever they were going. Diana called in whoever else she needed at the scene and Olivia called Fin to have him, Amanda, Sonny and Jeff meet them at the school. When they arrived, they saw the first officer on the scene, which was Montero.

"Montero, what's going on?"

"Apparently the ex of one of the teachers got into the building with a gun and ended up sexually assaulting her in the store room. The kids were at lunch and then after that they were heading to the classroom.

"I got a 9-1-1 call from my daughter."

"It apparently happened in her classroom."

Kara, Kelly and two of their guy friends came over to them. Kara ran to Diana and Kelly ran to Ed.

"Hey, Travis."

"Hey. This is my cousin Jeremy."

"Jeremy, it's nice to meet you."

"You too, Mrs. Tucker."

"Hey, Mr. Tucker."

"Hey, Travis."

"This is Kara's aunt, Olivia. Olivia and I are half-sisters. Olivia, this is Travis Hudson and his cousin Jeremy Rogers."

"It's nice to meet you."

"You too."

"Kara has known Travis since Kindergarten and he moved here last summer as well. He's the one that took her to that dance a few weeks ago."

"The same dance that someone's dad was nervous about her going to with a boy?"

"The same one but I told him she has known this boy since Kindergarten."

The Principal saw them and headed over to them.

"Captain Edwards."

"Principal Johnson."

"I would like to commend Kara for how she handled herself. She made the 9-1-1 call herself and remained calm during the entire thing."

"We've discussed situations like this many times. I have always told her not to panic because panicking causes chaos. What is going on with the suspect?"

"He barricaded himself and Ms. Spencer in the classroom. He claims he has a bomb and it could detonate at any time. We evacuated the building and the Bomb Squad has been notified."

"Is the classroom where it can be watched from the roof of a nearby building?"

"It is on the other side of the building but yes."

"Jay."

"On it."

Jay went to find the rest of his team and then someone from the school took them to where they could access the roof of a nearby building. Fin, Amanda, Sonny and Jeff arrived and Olivia filled them in.

"Is he holding her for some reason?"

"He's not talking to anyone other than the fact that there may be a bomb. We set up a staging area away from the school for the parents to come get their kids or with buses to take them home."

"That was a good idea."

The Bomb Squad with the dogs arrived and went in to see if there really was a bomb inside. Diana contacted Jay to see if he had seen anything. He said all they had seen was the guy with a gun to the teacher's head but it looked like he had something in his other hand with his thumb on it. Diana thought that maybe it was the detonator or he wanted them to think it was. Chief Dodds and some of the other Chiefs arrived.

"Captain, what's going on?"

Diana explained to them what was going on.

"Honey, why don't you take the girls and head home?"

"I don't have a vehicle. Hank picked me up."

Ed then saw his sister. When Kelly saw her, she ran over to her.

"Sweetie, are you ok?"

"Yeah."

"Do you want me to take the girls and head back to the Pub?"

"Do you want to go to the Pub?"

"Yeah."

"Ok."

"Is someone picking Brandon up?"

"Yeah. Hank is supposed to."

"Ok."

"Kara, great job today. Thank you."

"You're welcome, Mrs. Johnson."

Kara hugged both Ed and Diana and then she left with Erin and Kelly to head to the Pub, while the boys went to wait for one of their mothers to pick them up.

"You could have gone too."

"I'm not leavin' until I know that both you and Olivia are safe."

"I can take care of myself, you know."

"I know but I worry about you. I know how this job is better than anyone."

"Right now, I'm not doing this as the person in charge of Internal Affairs. I'm doing this as a cop and as a mother. I've been protecting that girl since the day she was born."

"You're also too involved with the situation."

"You'd do the same thing if you hadn't retired."

"Yes because I was in Hostage Negotiation. This is what my job was."

"I've done some negotiating myself, so I can handle this."

Olivia turned and saw Hank standing behind the barricade.

"And there's the other one."

"Edward, go stand by Hank. We got this."

"Fine."

Ed went over by Hank and told him what was going on. Hank told him he saw Erin with the girls.

"I hate not being able to do anything."

"Kara is fine."

"I know but I worry about Diana and Olivia."

"I do too but we both chose retirement to be there for them when they got home and to be full time fathers to our kids. Am I scared that one day I'm going to get a visit from Diana or someone in her squad telling me that something happened to Olivia or Erin? Hell yes and honestly, I'm not prepared for that. I almost lost her in that damn accident last summer."

"I shouldn't worry about Diana as such as I do but I still do. I was scared for Olivia in that accident too and if I could have traded places with her, I would have. I guess that is coming from me as an overprotective brother-in-law."

"I know you still love her and I'm fine with that. Maybe a couple years ago, I wasn't fine with that but I am now. I love Diana too even though we were never romantically involved. When I was in Chicago after Erin had the baby, I'm glad you were here for Olivia and the kids. I like knowing I don't have to worry about her when I'm not around."

"Yeah, you won't ever have to worry about that as long as I'm around."

"I appreciate that."

They had gotten the all clear from the Bomb Squad to enter the building, so Diana and Olivia both went in along with Olivia's squad.

"That scares me."

"Me too. A part of me wishes I hadn't retired, so I'd be the one going in there."

They had heard a gunshot, so more officers ran into the building. Then Ed's phone rang.

"Shit! That can't be good. It's Liv."

Ed answered his phone.

"Hey, Liv."

"Hey. Diana's down."

"What the hell happened? Is she ok?"

"He shot at me and she got me out of the way. She took the bullet for me and she shot at him simultaneously. She shot him in the stomach and he got her in the knee. There was another shot from outside that got him in the head. I take it you would want to be with her in the ambulance."

"Yeah, thanks."

Ed hung up and told Hank what happened.

"Go. I'll get Brandon. They can either stay with us or I'm sure someone in your family will keep them. Once I pick him up, I'll go talk to Kara and your family."

"Thanks."

Ed left to go find Diana and then Hank left to head home. Once Ed found Diana, he kissed her.

"Did Hank leave?"

"Yeah. He said he'd pick up Brandon and then head over to the Pub to talk to Kara and my family. He said the kids could stay with them or someone from my family would keep them. You ok?"

"It hurts like hell."

"Thank you."

"I wasn't about to let that son of a bitch shoot my baby sister."

Just as they were about to take Diana out, Olivia hugged her.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

"I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Alright."

Olivia hugged Ed and then Fin patted him on the back as the paramedics wheeled Diana out to the ambulance. The other ambulance took Ms. Spencer and Erin went with her. Once the ME's office arrived, they took the body to the Morgue and they headed out. Jay found them.

"Olivia."

"Hey. Nice shot whoever took it."

"Thanks. That was me. Are you ok?"

"Yeah. Diana took the bullet meant for me. She got him in the stomach and he got her in the knee."

"Where's Erin?"

"She rode with the victim to the hospital."

"Ok."

They all left and headed to the hospital. Hank stopped at the Tucker's to let Lola out and take her home with him. He told Lucy what was going on and left to get Brandon at school.

"Hi Hank."

"Hey, Buddy."

Hank put Brandon into Noah's seat and then he drove to the Pub. He got Brandon out of the seat and went inside.

"Hey, Hank."

"Hey.

"Hey, Brandon."

"Hi."

"Where's Kara?"

"Upstairs doing her homework. Where's Junior?"

"At the hospital."

"Wait, is he ok or does this have something to do with what happened at the girls' school?"

"It has something to do with what happened at the school. The suspect shot Diana and she shot at him. The thing is, the bullet from the suspect was meant for Olivia. I should probably be there with Olivia but I told Ed I'd let you know what was going on and talk to Kara."

"Is Diana ok?"

"She was shot in the knee. I told Ed the kids could stay with us or they could stay with someone from his family."

"Say no more. They can stay with one of us."

"Dan and I can take them. Do we need to get Lola too?"

"She's at our house for now. Lucy said she'll stick around as long as we need her to."

"If you need him, I can send Connor over there too."

"We should be ok."

"Ok. Let me go talk to Kara. I'm sure she'll want to go to the hospital."

"I'm going."

"I'll go too."

"Me too. I'll call Dan to tell him to come get the kids before he heads home. We can get a key from Eddie, so the kids can get some clothes.

"I don't have Brandon's seat unless someone picks up Diana's SUV at work."

"Does Eddie have one?"

"No. I can probably take him to get it and then get Brandon's seat to Dan. I put him in Noah's seat for now."

Hank went upstairs to talk to Kara. She wanted to go to the hospital, so he left with her. Colleen, Patty, Erin and Kelly left as well. When they arrived, Hank called Olivia to find out where they were. Diana was in surgery, so they went to the surgical waiting room. Olivia ran right into Hank's arms and kissed him as soon as she saw him.

"I love you so much."

"I love you too."

Kara hugged Ed and then everyone else did too.

"Daddy, how's Mom?"

"There looked to be some damage to her knee but there was no exit wound, so they needed to get the bullet out."

"Aunt Olivia, is Ms. Spencer going to be ok?"

"She has a long recovery ahead of her, so she may be taking some time off."

"Ok."

"Eddie, the kids can stay with us."

"Ok. Good. We need to do something about Lola too."

"She's at our house. Lucy said she will stay as long as we need her to."

"Ok."

Colleen sat down and put her arm around Ed.

"Thanks for being here, Ma."

"There's no other place that I would rather be. You know that."

"This is all my fault."

"Liv, don't blame yourself for this. You did the same thing when Dodds got shot."

"She would have done this for anyone. This is the Diana I know."

Then Al and Meredith came in.

"How's Diana?"

"They said there looked to be some damage to her knee but they needed to get the bullet out, since there was no exit wound. They'd know more once they got in there. Maybe now she'll stay in her office."

"We called Chicago to let them know."

"Thanks."

"No problem."

Then the rest of Kelly and Kara's friends came in, which included the boys and they were with Travis' mom.

"Hey, Kara."

"Hey."

"Kelly texted us and told us what happened to your mom."

"Thanks for being here."

"You're welcome."

They all hugged Kara and sat down. Travis sat next to her and Jeremy sat next Kelly. Colleen could tell that Ed was not too happy about that. She shook her head and Erin and Patty started laughing. Ed gave his sisters a dirty look. Hank was texting back and forth with Olive. The rest of Olivia's squad except for Erin had come in and then everyone waited for news about Diana.
