A/N: Long time no see, eh? Way too long. In summary - life got in the way ;)
Head to the bottom A/N if you want a refresher on what the heck this fic is about. Otherwise, if you've magically remembered everything... forge on!
It's a short chapter, more to re-establish what's going on and communicate with you guys than finish off the fic.
Also - three chapters to go until the end of the fic. :D

"Siege (I)"
XX-0 was active.
It was being more active than it had ever been. People were whizzing about, scuttling themselves into ships, and in general causing more mayhem and chaos than it had ever happened on the planet before. The biggest problem seemed to be that people tried very hard to appear nonchalant, but it was fruitless - the majority of fighters were, in fact - staying behind for certain death.
The atmosphere was solemn and tense. Commander Po - decked out in full black-red armor - stood at the center of the perhaps thousands of fighters, closely surrounded by all the usual figures he had always turned to in his long, experiential life: Shifu, Tigress, Alpha, and the rest of the Five.
He looked back at his old team - and now - his new team.
Everything felt full circle
And in front of him - new faces - Karla, Naja, Sigma, and Henderson.
Everyone dressed in black armor. Armored to the teeth. Weapons on their backs.
And yet - a vague sense of finality. XX-0's crusty, rocky ground and yellow atmosphere remained unchanging.
Ending.
Po raised his voice.
"There won't be any long speeches today!" he roared. "Just know that we are fighting - and dying - for the possibility - of a better tomorrow!"
Po growled, as the crowd roared in unison. He watched the rest of the fighters cheer and make merry, everyone perhaps ready for the finality of the situation. Po went straight to the point, sick of waiting.
At long last, a chance for normalcy. At long last, a chance for freedom.
Po beckoned his crack team - Tigress, Shifu, and the rest of the Five into a ship nearby. He watched Alpha take Sigma, Henderson, Karla, and Naja away on another flying carrier. The current plan would allow a two-pronged attack - Alpha's Team and Po's team could provide a split-coordinates attack, as they doubted Omega would go after the other team if he knew the main Resistance was "dead".
Po watched the rest of the fighters wait proudly on the cracked ground of XX-0 for their impending doom. He resolved to make sure their sacrifices wouldn't be in vain.
. . .
Commander Delta had been in his position for so many millenia.
Delta had successfully patrolled all the galaxies in the Alliance for many, many years. He was experienced at a variety of tactical and guerilla warfare, and enjoyed aspects of war that others did not. Guerilla warfare, in particular, was one of Delta's specialties - he was obsessed with the idea of outwitting and overpowering the enemy, which explained why Omega had designated him to tackle any squadrons leaving XX-0. Omega himself had reserved his own task force - a fleet of perhaps ten thousand spaceships - to siege XX-0 itself, thereby crushing the bulk of the Resistance.
Delta knew that for rebel factions, guerilla warfare was often the only method of fighting back - an instant solution to the vastly superior firepower and strength of the Alliance. Thus, it was likely that the Resistance was planning a two-fold attack - a strike team for sieging Earth, and the overall base of the movement on XX-0. Crushing both meant total domination.
Delta was seated with his sentinels, heavily armored Alliance guards inside the Eviscerator - an appropriately named space vessel, as it was massive, filled with intricate metallic compartments, and most importantly - deadly weaponry. They had been flying for hours - there were a few light-years from XX-0, but Omega had assured that the strike team would show.
And they did.
Delta called out atop his podium, seeing a fleet of fifteen ships approaching with black arrows painted on the sides - hurtling through the empty void of space with dedicated ferocity.
"Fire at will!"
Delta watched his sentinels order firestrikes - plasma cannons underneath the ship charged up, along with a hailstorm of cannonfire from the Eviscerator's sister vessels. In a gigantic bonfire of plasma bursts from beyond the ship's glass paneling, Delta saw the burst of fire instantly destroy ten of the fifteen Resistance vessels - reducing the remains to destroyed space debris.
"A.G.E can never be defeated!" Delta cried out, watching the destruction unfold. In just a snap of his fingers, the Resistance strike team had been cut by two-thirds of its strength. Omega was already outwitting them.
"They're returning fire, Commander!" one of the sentinels indicated loudly.
Delta moved closer to the glass, seeing the five straggler Alliance ships firing fiercely upon the Eviscerator. Already, they had destroyed several hundred of the Alliance spaceships firing upon them.
Delta growled. The Resistance ships were maneuvering with extreme precision and dedication, and firing a type of ion cannon burst that Delta had never seen before - it was green, and luminous - almost as if it had been harvested from raw energy crystals. The fire was wiping out Alliance vessels with effortless destruction, and the energy seemed to be far more powerful than standard plasma bursts.
"They've found a way to harness crystal energy," Delta whispered, realization coming to a halt.
BOOM.
Delta swiveled around, seeing the back of the ship's posterior commanding chamber burst, as space vacuum sucked out computers, machines, and a few sentinels. The hole was quickly sealed by the ship's auto-sealing system, but not before someone had broken in.
The terrorist.
The man with the arrows on his shoulder pads.
Scout Zero.
"Zero, I thought you'd be dead by now," Delta growled, watching the man approach him inside the ship. "Sentinels, destroy him!"
Alpha quickly oscillated, drawing out his twin ion cannons before firing. The green bursts ripped through the weak armoring of the Sentinels, killing them instantly.
Delta screamed in rage, firing upon Alpha.
Dodged.
Alpha sprinted at Delta, shoving him to the ground before punching his visor. It cracked, as Alpha crushed it and threw it away.
"What a disgrace you are, Scout Zero," Delta roared, face exposed to Alpha's visor. "Betraying the Alliance to serve those - lower than us. Worthless animal scum… and you fight for them!"
Delta tried to bring out his ion rifle, but Alpha caught it and quickly crushed it.
Alpha smiled, pressing a button on his forearm to unsheathe his visor.
Delta's eyebrows flashed up. "You - your face doesn't look like Scout Zero's…"
Alpha stood up, huffing as he charged an energy burst in his palm, savoring Delta's confused fear as the green energy expanded.
"You know the funny thing, Delta?" Alpha started. "My name's not even Scout Zero."
Delta was shocked. "Wha - what do they call you?"
The terrorist merely grinned, growling.
"Alpha."
A burst of green energy. Delta's chestplate offered no resistance as the energy seared through, punching a clean hole through the torso. The commander only managed one last look of exhausted confusion before perishing.
A/N
So I disappeared for about a thousand years. Not good... and not good for long time fans, who were hoping for this fic to resolve itself.
I'm back. I could give a list of excuses but tbh - they're irrelevant. I'm here now, and I'm ready. :D Please accept my greatest apologies and try not to curse me too hard :)
3 chapters to go. I literally promise an update coming in the next 2-3 weeks.
What the heck is this fic about? Read below.
Premise: human in KFP story. Human becomes secret warrior who is the only one who can stop his own race from killing all of animal-kind. Was normal up-til KFP 3ish, when fic became a sci-fi extravganza! Humans bad, animals good generally - but more nuanced than that.
Cast: Alpha (protagonist), Tigress, Po, Furious Five, Shifu, Zhong, Shifu, Naja, Karla, etc etc etc.
That's it. Let's get cracking.
And again - a fresh, more dense chapter coming in 2-3 weeks. Remember - the fic will be over in just 3 more chapters.
