(Dream - Ayla's POV)

*I was floating in a black space*

Ayla: Where am I?

*Suddenly, an image appeared before me. It was Shadow, running & holding Maria's hand. Professor Gerald Robotnik was right behind them & so was a squadron of soldiers*

Soldier: Stop them! We can't let them get away!

*As Shadow & Maria ran, they were surrounded by flames. Then Shadow was put inside a capsule. He kicked & punched the glass, trying to break it, but it didn't work. Maria went over to a lever. Suddenly, one of the soldiers burst into the room. He pointed his gun at her*

Soldier: Freeze! *Maria looked at him, scared* Take your hand off that lever. *Maria didn't listen* I'm not fooling around here! *she still wouldn't listen & pulled the lever* STOP!

*I covered my eyes as I heard a loud bang*

Shadow: Maria!

(Gotta Go Fast!)

*I was then woken up by a siren & flashing red lights. I sat up & pressed a button*

Ayla: Tails, what's going on!?

Tails: Ayla, come to the bridge right away! I think we found another one!

Ayla: Okay, I'll be right there. *I took my finger off the button* What did I just see? Was it a dream . . . Or someone's memory?

*I made it to the bridge. Everyone was already there. Tails turned & looked at me*

Tails: Hey, Ayla. It's coming from - huh?

*I wasn't really paying attention & went to stand next to Shadow*

Sonic: What's up, sis. You don't look so good.

Ayla: Huh? I don't?

Sonic: You're all sweaty.

Ayla: Yeah, I'm okay. Weird nightmare.

Sonic: Well, good thing it's over.

(Third-person POV)

*Meanwhile, on the Crimson Egg, Rouge entered one of the computer rooms*

Rouge: Let's see.

*She looked around & found the white Chaos Emerald in a glass case*

Note: Don't ask how Eggman found it, that's up to you.

Rouge: How pretty. I couldn't possibly resist. *but as soon as she touched the case, an alarm went off* I take that back!

Decoe: THE ALARM THE ALARM!

Bokkun: INTRUDER IN THE SECRET COMPUTER ROOM!

*Decoe & Bocoe started to panic*

*As Rouge stepped away from the Emerald, a computer turned on behind her, showing pictures & notes about Ayla*

Rouge: Ayla? What would Eggman have a file about her?

Dr. Eggman:*off-screen* Well, if it isn't my old friend Rouge *Rouge turned around & saw Eggman at the door. he then walked up to the computer**on-screen* I see you've stumbled upon my little secret project.

Rouge: And here I thought I was the sneaky one. What are you up to anyway? Why do you have a file all about Ayla?

Dr. Eggman: You will find out all in good time my sly little spy, but not until I'm good and ready. *he typed on the computer & locked the files. he then opened the door* Out!

*Rouge walked out of the room*

Rouge: I'll say this for you, Eggie. You sure know how to keep a gal in suspense.

*Eggman came out behind her & locked the door. Decoe, Bocoe, & Bokkun them came running towards them*

Decoe: DR. EGGMAN!

Bocoe: THERE US AN INTRUDER ON BOARD!

*Bokkun hid behind Bocoe when he saw Rouge*

Decoe: IT IS HER, DOCTOR! SHE IS THE INTRUDER!

Dr. Eggman: Ridiculous. Rouge is a member of our team. She is our guest.

*Decoe Bocoe looked at each other confused. Bokkun looked nervous*

Rouge: From now on, it's all about teamwork, right fellas? *she then walked up to Bokkun & poked his non-existent nose* Bokky knows about teamwork, doesn't he?

*Bokkun still looked nervously*

(Ayla's POV)

*We then went through the Warp Drive & ended up on a very gray planet*

Chris: The ship scanner isn't showing any signs of life below. Maybe the Metarex took this Planet Egg away too.

Tails: Wow, if this keeps happening, there'll be no planets left anywhere in the galaxy! We've gotta stop 'em somehow and fast!

Chris: You're right.

*A castle appeared on the screen*

Tails: The Chaos Emerald is somewhere up ahead in those ruins. It should not be hard to find the Emerald.

Chris: Yeah, but where exactly?

Tails: There's only one way to find out.

Amy: This'll be a cinch. All we have to do is split into two groups. I'll go with Sonic!

Tails: Why do you always get to go with Sonic?

Amy: I'll tell you why! Throughout history behind every great hero, there's a great woman guiding him!

Tails: Really?

*Sonic just shrugged*

Ayla: And what does that make me, chopped liver?

Amy: I didn't say there couldn't multiple great women.

*I just rolled my eyes*

*We landed on the planet & excited the Blue Typhoon*

Chris: We'll use our com links to stay in contact.

*Amy, Sonic, & Knuckles headed towards the castle, I went with Shadow, Chris, & Cosmo to the other set of ruins. Tails, Cream, & Cheese stayed on the Blue Typhoon*

Chris: Looks like this was some kind of space colony.

Cosmo: Until the Metarex came.

Chris: I guess so. I wonder how long it's been deserted.

Ayla: From the look of all the overgrown weeds & the moss, I'd say a long time.

Shadow: A couple years most likely.

*We all went inside. We all brought out flashlights*

Chris: This must've been the center of the colony's operations.

Cosmo: I'll see if I can find anything over here. *she took a few steps, when she suddenly tripped & dropped her flashlight. it fell to the floor below us* That was clumsy. I'll go get it.

*She jumped over the railing & floated down*

Ayla: Be careful.

Cosmo: I will *she went over to where her flashlight landed & picked it up* There we go.

Chris: You alright down there, Cosmo?

Cosmo: Yes. Everything's okay.

*Suddenly, she pressed a button & a recording appeared on the wall across from her. We all looked up at it. A teal, light blue, & grey lion with peach skin & purple eyes wearing white gloves with blue & yellow-tongued cuffs, a brown belt with a golden brooch, & blue & yellow boots with white lining appeared on the recording*

Hobidon: If you are watching this, then you have somehow found a way onto our home planet, which was destroyed along with most of its citizens many years ago by evil Metarex monsters. Those of us survived built this space colony, in the hopes that one day we could make contact with others and eventually restore the glory of our planet. But the monsters destroyed it as well. All is lost. Destroy them, or they will destroy you.

*The recording ended*

Cosmo: Why did they do it, Chris and Ayla?

Ayla: I wish I knew, Cosmo.

*Me, Chris, & Cosmo lowered our heads in sadness. Shadow just looked lost in thought. We all went outside*

Cosmo: How could we be foolish enough to think we could ever defeat them? *she looked at me, but I didn't answer her* Ayla?

Ayla: Yeah?

Cosmo: You look like you're lost in another world.

Ayla: I guess I am. *I looked at Shadow* Someone else's world.

Cosmo: You are?

Ayla: Yeah. Shadow?

Shadow: Yes?

Ayla: Uh . . . Never mind. It's nothing.

*Chris was about to say something when suddenly, Cosmo's wristwatch started beeping. She answered it*

Tails: We've got an emergency! I lost 'em! My link with Amy cut off and I can't through anymore!

Chris: What's going on!?

Cosmo: Guys, the castle!

*We all looked at the castle & saw that it was starting to vanish. We quickly went to the Blue Typhoon get Chris' plane. I got on my board & Shadow stood on the wing of the plane. As we left the Blue Typhoon, Sonic flew out of the castle wall*

Chris: Gotcha!

*Sonic landed on the wing opposite of Shadow"

Sonic: Thanks!

*He then jumped off the wing & back into the castle. Soon, he came back out with Knuckles & Amy. Then one of the castle towers came to life & grabbed Sonic. Chris fired lasers at it, but they just went right through. The sand then pulled my brother in*

Chris: Oh no!

Metarex Deserd:*laughing* IT APPEARS YOUR FRIEND, SONIC, HAS SUNK TO AN ENTIRELY NEW LOW.

Knuckles: It's talking!

Metarex Deserd: YOU MEDDLING FOOLS THOUGHT YOU COULD DESTROY US. BUT IN THE END, IT IS US WHO WILL DESTROY YOU!

Ayla: That's what you think!

Amy: Sonic!

Chris: Hang on!

*He did a loop & flew towards the Metarex. It shot a bunch of sand balls at him, but he dodged them all & shot out a Power Ring. It landed in the sand & in a burst of power, Sonic broke free. But he was soon stopped by a wall of sand that turned into steel. He fell towards the ground. I dove in on my board*

Ayla: I'm coming!

Sonic: Okay!

*I caught him with one hand & we spun around. Together we went right through the wall. The hole then repaired itself"

Knuckles: Who knows what that thing's gonna turn into next!

Ayla: It's sand, Knuckles. It doesn't have a shape.

*Tails & Cream then flew in with the Blue Typhoon. It then fired a laser that turned into multiple lasers. They hit the wall & it went boom*

Knuckles: They've got it.

Ayla: I'm not so sure!

*We all looked up & saw a giant ball of black sand*

Metarex Deserd: ENOUGH OF YOUR CHILD'S PLAY! YOUR WEAPONS HAVE NO EFFECT AGAINST OUR OMNIPRESENT EVIL! HAHA! YOUR DESTRUCTION IS AT HAND, IT'S TOO LATE TO TURN BACK!

*It then shot multiple blue arrows at us. We all dodged & ran towards the Blue Typhoon*

Sonic: We can take shelter under here!

*We all went under the Blue Typhoon. The arrows bounced off the shield. Chris then flew towards us*

Chris:*off-screen* Sonic! *he fired a missile. Sonic jumped up & then he was wearing new shoes* Ring Tunnel!

*A tunnel of Power Rings came out of the plane*

Sonic: Okay!

*He jumped towards the tunnel, went inside & flew towards the Metarex*

Chris:*off-screen* Let 'im have it, Sonic!

Sonic: You betcha!

*He then went through a barrage of arrows. But went he hit the center of the Metarex, he was stopped by some kind of electrical field*

All: Oh no!

Metarex Deserd: THIS WILL BE THE END OF YOU SONIC!

*He burst out laughing. Sonic then fell towards the ground, unconscious*

Cosmo: What do we do? He's been hurt!

*Shadow jumped towards Sonic to save him*

Metarex Deserd: SO, ANOTHER HEDGEHOG WANTS TO PLAY HERO? HERE'S A SURPRISE FOR YOU!

*The Metarex shot multiple blue arrows at Shadow, not giving him time to dodge. Without thinking, I ran towards him*

Ayla: LOOK OUT!

*I pushed him out of the way in time. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder. I screamed & then everything went black*

(Sonic's POV)

*I heard a scream. I turned & saw Ayla fall to the ground, with an arrow sticking out out of her shoulder*

Sonic: AYLA! *I landed on the ground, ran towards my sister, & gathered her in my arms* Ayla! Say something! Open your eyes! Ayla! *I turned to Shadow, furious* THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!

(Shadow's POV)

*I froze. Seeing Ayla fall to the ground, injured, reminded me of when Maria was killed right in front me. Clenching my fists & gritting my teeth, I called Tails on my wristwatch*

Shadow: Tails, send me the Chaos Emeralds. I'm finishing this now. *Tails ran out of the Blue Typhoon & threw me the blue & green Chaos Emeralds. I caught them & held them both over my head* Chaos Control!

(Third-person POV)

*In a flash, Shadow was gone. Suddenly, the Metarex started to scream in pain & then it exploded. Soon, Shadow appeared in front Sonic, who was still holding an unconscious Ayla. He was now holding four Chaos Emeralds. The ones they had already found, along with a red & purple one. Everyone stared at him in awe*
