So sorry it's been so long since this has updated I've been struggling to find time to write lately.

Wolf

Wolf fought the urge to bite down on the fingers currently holding his jaw open, squinting in the light of the auror's wand as he peered into his mouth.

He carefully pressed the pad of his finger on one of Wolf's sharpened teeth. The urge to bite grew stronger.

"And you're saying that this is a result of the forced transformations?" the auror asked, still holding Wolf's mouth open.

Wolf nodded, his fingers twitching with the need to clench into fists. He understood that this man was trying to do his job and everything, but Wolf would really prefer it if he would let go already!

The auror grunted, finally releasing Wolf who shut his jaw a little too quickly, his teeth coming together with a snap. "And you're sure this isn't because of some other pre-existing condition?"

"Yes Sir." Wolf responded, fighting to keep the growl out of his voice. They'd been at this for ages!

The auror scowled, holding the glowing wand tip slightly closer to Wolf's face. "And these changes were… involuntary, you say?"

"Yes Sir."

"Only, werewolves are commonly known to be very physically strong. I'm sure the idea of being able to willingly transform into one may have seemed appealing to a young man such as yourself."

What? "With all due respect Sir, it's also commonly known that werewolves tend to lead rather miserable lives and are heavily discriminated against by the wizarding community."

"It's also commonly known that murder leads to a life-time imprisonment, but we still have murderers, don't we?"

Wolf bit back a sigh. "Sir, I can assure you that I didn't want to be a werewolf, and I definitely didn't want to be a part of the headmistress's army. I was just a boy who had the misfortune to be bitten."

"You were in this army for, what, five years? A long time for someone who didn't want to be recruited." The auror countered, narrowing his eyes suspiciously, "Levana must have made the offer more… attractive for you."

"We were threatened with death if we attempted to leave."

"And provided a steady diet of meat, blood and violence from the sounds of it."

Wolf clenched his jaw against the growl rising in his throat. He'd long since realised that the Magical Law Enforcement wouldn't let him or any of the other wolves go. He knew exactly what the wizarding world though about his kind. It'd be a miracle if the aurors managed to cast aside their prejudices and let them all go. A miracle that was about as likely as Thorne getting a desk-job at the Ministry.

Suddenly, some muffled thumps sounded from behind the heavy wooden doors to the Astronomy classroom. A bright flash of light shone through the cracks. The doors blew open, and a very familiar red head strode in, two unconscious bodies and a flared rope falling in after her, glaring fiercely at everyone in the room.

A couple aurors ran over to her, aiming their wands squarely at Scarlet's face. Thankfully, one of those aurors was the one that had been questioning Wolf, so no-one heard the growl that rumbled in his throat at the sight.

"Ma'am, this area is restricted for questioning. We're going to have to ask you to leave." One of the aurors told her.

Scarlet stared back coolly. "And I'm going to have to refuse. These boys have been in here for hours, pretty sure you've gotten all you're going to get from them."

"That's not for you to decide." The auror that was questioning Wolf said coldly.

"What are you expecting to get from them, their dental records? They were Levana's grunts, not her advisors! They don't know anything! You're just holding them here because they're werewolves!"

"Ma'am, these are serious accusations that I advise you to take elsewhere."

"Only when you take your prejudices elsewhere!"

"Um, Scarlet?"

Scarlet blinked, her gaze flicking up to stare at Wolf.

"It's not really a very good idea to antagonise these people." he said, with a meaningful glance at the aurors still pointing their wands at her.

Scarlet followed his gaze and simply smirked and shrugged. "Hey, the reporters already hate me. What's law enforcement?"

Wolf groaned softly. "Scarlet, you know that's going to come back to bite you."

"They shouldn't have kept asking the same questions over and over again then."

"I'm sorry, do you two know each-other?" Wolf's auror snapped.

Wolf opened his mouth, but no sound came out. What was he supposed to say? Yes? No? Nothing?

Fortunately (or not, Wolf didn't really know) Scarlet faced no such indecision. "Yes, he's my friend. And he's been in here for hours listening to your useless questions and I think the world can survive him taking a break."

"He's still being questioned. If you want to see him, you'll have to wait." The auror said coldly.

Scarlet narrowed her eyes dangerously. ""He" has a name. And I'm not asking. You know just as well as I do that he's done nothing wrong, you're only keeping him here because of your stupid prejudices. So How about I make you a deal: you swallow your suffocating pride and actually let him go, like you should've done an hour ago, or I seal all of your heads in giant pumpkins and all of these kids can finally leave. What do you say?"

Wolf was torn. On the one hand, Scarlet was literally threatening Magical Law Enforcement. She could end up being incarcerated for this, at least in a temporary holding cell. On the other hand, the deep shade of red that was colouring the aurors face (the auror that had been stubbornly refusing to believe in Wolf's innocence at that) was downright priceless.

But before he could reply, one of the other aurors spoke first. "Fine." She said, lowering her wand, "I suppose these kids have already told us all that they can. They're free to go."

Wolf's auror gaped at her. "But, Captain, we can't let them leave yet! They're-"

"Innocent." The auror who was apparently a captain said firmly. "We'll let them off with a warning and put their names in the records, but all their stories suggest that they were more like conscripts than actual accomplices. And all of their stories are the same." She continued as the other auror started to interrupt, "They grew up in some remote village, were picked out among the other kids for being physically strong and exceptionally smart, and tricked by an undercover agent of Levana's into being bitten. Just let them go."

The auror's jaw visibly clenched in frustration, but he nodded, pocketing his wand. The rest of the aurors quickly followed suit.

Scarlet smirked smugly and strode over to Wolf, hooking her arm through his.

"You really didn't have to do that." He told her as she all but dragged him to the door.

She grinned at him. "'Course I did. I'd be a really crummy friend if I left you to suffer that any longer."
