Ship of Doom
Last time on Sonic X: Ayla's Story . . .
Ayla had a strange dream and was shocked when a familiar figure emerged from the shadows of the past. On Dr. Eggman's ship, Rouge made a grab for the Chaos Emerald, but got caught red-handed. To her surprise, she learned that Dr. Eggman had an even more valuable treasure locked on his data-base. Meanwhile, the Blue Typhoon landed on a barren and mysterious planet. As Sonic and friends explored the ancient ruins of a long-lost alien race, they were ambushed by the Metarex. To our heroes' horror, their trip quickly turned into a nightmarish battle for survival. Not even the firepower of the Blue Typhoon could overcome this fantastic foe. When this foe sent an attack to Shadow, Ayla pushed him out of the way just in time, but was badly hurt in the end.

(Third-person POV)
*Cosmo was sitting in a chair, fast asleep*
(Dream )
Sand Metarex: SO, ANOTHER HEDGEHOG WANTS TO PLAY HERO? HERE'S A SURPRISE FOR YOU!
*The Metarex shot multiple blue arrows at Shadow, not giving him time to dodge. Ayla ran towards him*
Ayla: LOOK OUT!
*She pushed him out of the way in time. Suddenly, one of the arrows hit her in the shoulder. She screamed*
*Cosmo opened her eyes with a gasp. She found herself sitting in a chair in the Blue Typhoon's infirmary. She looked around & saw Sonic sitting next to a bed. Laying in the bed, asleep, was Ayla. Who was wearing a medical gown, had bandages wrapped around her shoulder, & there was a heart monitor next to her. Tails was typing on a computer keyboard on the other side of the bed. Most of her friends were standing around the bed, looking worried. Shadow stood at the far end of the room. Cream turned around when she heard Cosmo's gasp & walked towards her with Cheese*
Cream: Cosmo are you okay?
Cosmo: Sorry Cream. I was dreaming.
Cream: Was it about Ayla?
Cosmo: It was? Is she going to alright, Tails?
Tails: Well, lucky for her, that arrow didn't go in very deep. She should be fine in a few hours.
*They all sighed in relief*
Chris: I think we'd better let her rest.
Sonic: You guys go on ahead. I'm gonna stay here. *they all left the room. but Shadow stayed behind. he didn't show it, but he was worried about Ayla* That means you too, Faker. In case you haven't noticed, I'm still mad at you.
*Shadow didn't say a word & left the room. Sonic turned back to his little sister & took her hand*
Sonic:*in his mind* Please Ayla. Stay with us. I can't loose you. I just can't.
(A few hours later - Ayla's POV)
*As I opened my eyes, I could feel a sharp pain in my shoulder. I then turned & saw my brother sitting next to my bed, sleeping in chair*
Ayla: . . . Sonic?
*I opened his eyes & jumped out of his chair when he saw me awake*
Sonic: Ayla!
*He wrapped me in a tight hug*
Ayla: OW! Sonic! Shoulder! Pain!
*He let go*
Sonic: Oh! Sorry.
Ayla: I'll live. So, how long have I been out?
Sonic: Only for 24 hours.
Ayla: That long? What did I miss? *he told me everything that happened after I passed out* Wow. Is Shadow okay.
*He was about to answer me, when his wristwatch started beeping. He answered it*
Knuckles:*off-screen* Sonic get to bridge now. Rouge is on the line.
Sonic: On our way.
*We made it to the bridge. They were all surprised to see me awake, but stayed focused on Rouge. I was happy to see Shadow was okay*
Tails: What!? A Metarex attacked Eggman!
Rouge: He didn't stand a chance. Take a look.
*She then showed us a video of Eggman's ship being destroyed. A giant Metarex then appeared on the screen. Cosmo gasped in fear*
Sonic: What's wrong?
Cosmo: I know that ship! That Metarex attacked me and my clan!
*She started to cry. I ran over to her & hugged her*
Amy: Cosmo. We'll stop that Metarex!
Rouge: Fat chance! That thing was too powerful for Eggman to defeat.
Chris: Whoa, it must be strong.
Tails: I think we'd better retreat.
Amy: Are you kidding?! We can't let it win!
Tails: I just wanna pull back temporarily. I don't think we should take that thing on until we have a chance to analyze it and come up with a plan to blow it away!
Knuckles: I agree. We have to think this thing through.
Amy: That'll be a first!
Knuckles: I'm only trying to use my head!
Amy: Then we might as well give up now.
Rouge: She's right.
*She hung up. Knuckles gritted his teeth in anger*
Ayla: I'm with Knuckles & Tails, Amy. *she looked at me surprised* If we don't think up a plan now, we might was well kiss our chances of saving the universe goodbye.
Knuckles: Let's get going while we have the chance!
Amy: I say we stay!
Tails: We better decide now, there's something big heading this way.
*Suddenly, a giant dark gold ship came out of nowhere, completely blocking our path*
Cosmo: Tails, get us out of here now!
Amy: But Cosmo, you're the last one here who should want to retreat, that Metarex is responsible for wiping out everybody you cared about! Now's your chance to make that ship pay for the pain and misery it caused you!
Cosmo: I can't. I want to fight that thing alone, Amy. I'm willing to risk my life to battle Metarex, but not yours.
Sonic: Sooner or later, we'll have to face it, and there's no time like the present!
Tails: Alright, then!
Knuckles: I still think it's a long shot, but I'm willing to try. Let's do it!
*Chris & Shadow nodded*
Amy: I'm glad you see it my way.
Cream: We can win!
Cheese: Chao!
Ayla:*sigh* Alright. I now when I'm out voted. Let's do it.
*Cosmo stood up with happy tears in her eyes*
Cosmo: This means so much to me. Thank you all!
"We all have her a thumbs up*
Scar Ship: THIS BATTLE IS ALREADY OVER.
*It fired lasers at us*
Tails: Raise all shields!
Cream: Right!
*Lasers bounced off the shield*
Scar Ship: THEY'RE ONLY DELAYING THEIR DESTRUCTION.
*The ship then fired missiles at us*
Tails: There's no turning back now! Ready!?
Amy: Okay, let's go!
Knuckles: Just give me the word!
Ayla: I was born ready!
*Shadow nodded*
Tails: Are you ready to go, Chris?
Chris: All set.
Sonic: Let's go for it!
*Tails flew the Blue Typhoon upward*
Chris: Expand the shield, change to cloaking mode!
*The shield around the ship grew bigger & we turned invisible. The Metarex then sent out an entire arsenal at us, but it kept missing. Tails then sent out a bunch of junk from the Blue Typhoon. Some of us hide in an old cabinet. Knuckles peeked out*
Knuckles: All clear.
*Me, Sonic, Amy, & Knuckles came out of the cabinet, wearing jetpacks. Amy & Knuckles went ahead of us*
Sonic: That Metarex saw through our trick, but it didn't realize it was a double trick!
Ayla: Sometimes the best way to beat an enemy is to outsmart them.
Sonic: Let's go junk that Metarex!
Scar Ship: ENOUGH OF THESE GAMES! I'LL FIRE ALL MY MISSILES AT ONCE AND WIPE THEM OUT WITH ONE BIG BANG! *he tried to launch his weapons, but nothing happened* HUH!? WHY I FIRE!?
*We had all moved the junk around & clogged up the openings for it's weapons*
Amy: This Metarex is in a real jam now!
Scar Ship: I CAN BLAST RIGHT THROUGH IT!
*He started to turn red*
Knuckles: Let's get out of here!
*We all flew far away from the Metarex. As he tried to fire, explosions happened all over his body*
Amy: It's a really bad idea to fire your weapons when your missile tubes are clogged up!
Knuckles: Now that you can't fight anymore, your only choice is to surrender!
Scar Ship: NEVER!
*He flew upward towards where the Blue Typhoon was hiding*
Sonic: It's gonna crash into the Blue Typhoon!
Knuckles: Tails better move it!
*The Blue Typhoon tried to fly away, but the Metarex was closing in fast*
Amy: Oh no! They won't get away fast enough!
Knuckles: The one way to get enough power is to use the Master Emerald at full force, but only I can do that!
Sonic: LOOK OUT!
*Just as the Metarex was going to hit the ship, a bright light sent him flying along with a barrage missiles. I looked & saw Shadow floating in front of the Blue Typhoon*
Ayla: Shadow!
Sonic: Just in time, Faker!
*Shadow ignored my brother, launched himself at the Metarex, went into spin dash mode, & banged against it multiple times, causing it to shake*
Knuckles: Should never underestimate that guy.
Ayla: But who launched those missiles?
Chris: It wasn't us.
Sonic: Then who?
*Suddenly, we all heard a very familiar laugh. I turned & gasped when I saw Eggman's ship hovering nearby*
Dr. Eggman:*off-screen* I'm like a bad rash! You can't get rid of me!
Tails:*off-screen* What!? How are you still alive!?
Dr. Eggman: Metarex missed me! *he opened some doors in the middle of his ship* As usual, I used my brains and showed that missile the door!
Knuckles: It's lucky for you you don't have to fit your head through there.
Decoe:*off-screen* EVEN MORE BRILLIANT WAS THE WAY DR. EGGMAN FAKED AN EXPLOSION BY USING A SMOKE SCREEN.
Bocoe:*off-screen* WHILE THE SMOKE WAS HIDING US, WE WARPED AWAY TO A SAFE PART OF THE GALAXY.
*We all turned to Shadow, was still hitting the Metarex with multiple spin dashes*
(Third-person POV)
Decoe: WHAT KIND OF ATTACK IS THAT?
Bocoe: I HAVE NO CLUE.
*Eggman put buckets on both of their heads*
Dr. Eggman: Allow me to demonstrate. *he then hit them with hammers & they fell to the ground, dizzy* As you can see, a series of rapid strikes on the ship's hull will create an intense vibration, which will shake the ship apart from the inside.
Cream:*off-screen* You didn't have to use them as practice dummies!
Cheese:*off-screen* Chao-Chao!
Amy:*off-screen* Hey, Sonic and Ayla were just here, where did they go?
(Ayla's POV)
*While everyone else was talking, me & Sonic had followed Shadow to the ship. When we got there, I got out my board*
Sonic: Something tells me we're all thinking the same thing
Ayla: If we destroy the engine room, this Metarex will be out of commission for good!
Shadow:*to Sonic* I didn't ask for your help, so stay out of this! *to Ayla* And shouldn't you be resting?
Sonic: I see you haven't lost any of your charm.
Ayla: I'm fine. I'm not gonna let an injured shoulder stop me from doing my job.
Shadow: No doubt you two are siblings. You're both stubborn.
*We all took off in different directions. We then destroyed all three engines. The Metarex screamed in pain & started to go down in flames*
(Third-person POV)
Knuckles: They did it!
Amy:*to the Metarex* If you agree to surrender now, we'll try to help you put out those fires.
Scar Ship: I'LL NEVER SURRENDER OR GIVE UP MY MISSION!
Amy: What is your mission, anyway?
Scar Ship: TO DESTROY SONIC, AYLA, AND DR. EGGMAN. NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES!
Knuckles: What's it doing?
Dr. Eggman: That Metarex is trying to blow us all away by self-destructing!
Bokkun: LET'S GO, DOCTOR!
Dr. Eggman: It's too late to get away!
(Ayla's POV)
Sonic: What do we do!?
Shadow: We need to buy some more time!
Amy:*off-screen* But how!?
*Getting an idea, I reached into my backpack & pulled out the red Chaos Emerald*
Ayla: Shadow! *he turned to me* Heads up!
*He caught it & threw it in the air above him*
Shadow: Chaos Control!
*Suddenly, the Metarex froze in it's tracks.
Knuckles: What'd you do!?
Shadow: I stopped time from advancing around the ship. We have 90 seconds.
Dr. Eggman: Alright, now count down with me!
*All four of them started counting down, but we ignored them*
Shadow: If you wanna disarm it, you better hurry!
Sonic: Right! *he got out his wristwatch* Come in, Tails!
Tails:*off-screen* We'll use the Sonic Power Cannon! Come to the ship as fast as you can!
*All three of us went back to the ship. While the boys went to the cannon, I went to the bridge*
Chris: That Metarex's armor is strong.
Tails: Yeah, I know, Chris, but we can use a warp field to make it weaker.
Chris: Right. *he pressed a few buttons* Warp field drive is all set, Tails.
Tails: Prepare to send out a warp field to surround the Metarex!
Chris: Roger.
*A yellow ring came out of the nose of the ship & was launched at the Metarex. It then started to look distorted & colorful. The cannon came out*
Tails: Route all energy to the power cannon!
Chris: We have full power!
Tails: Load cannon!
Chris: Sonic, Shadow, get ready to launch!
Sonic:*off-screen* We're ready!
*I could feel a giant amount of energy*
Tails: Fire the cannon at my command! Targeting Metarex! Sonic Power Cannon fire!
*Two spin dashes, one blue & one black & red. They hit the Metarex just as Eggman & his stooges hit zero. The Metarex screamed & exploded. After that, Eggman flew away*
Dr. Eggman:*off-screen* Thanks for saving us, Sonic and Ayla! You'll regret it!
Ayla: I already do.
*We all flew off, ready for our next adventure*
