Chapter 66: Gohan Vs Cell
"You win, Cell! I give up!"Goku declared. "You know I wasn't sure when I came here today that I had what it takes to beat you! I know now that I don't! Fighting you has showed me that there is still a lot I have to work on! We maybe enemies, but today you given me a valuable opportunity to learn more about myself! And for what is worth I thank you!"
"What is he doing?"Trunks questioned.
"I have no idea, love."Minako replied.
"His gone crazy!"Yamcha insisted.
"Quiet, Yamcha!"Tien retorted. "I can't hear what his saying!"
"Well Goku, I hope you fully appreciate the consequences of actions."Cell warned. "You may quit if you wish. But if there is no one left to fight me, I'm going to reduce this entire planet to rubble!"
"Not so fast, Cell!"Goku admitted. "I may not have beaten you up, but that doesn't mean the tournament is over! There is still one more fighter for you to fight!"
"Your not serious."Cell scoffed and looked at the group. "Who? One of them?! And exactly which one of these pitiful specimen did you have in mind, Goku? Trunks? Piccolo? Vegeta? Please, don't waste my time."
Uneasy expressions appeared on Trunks, Piccolo and Vegeta's faces.
"So you don't mind who gets to fight next do you?"Goku asked with a smirk.
"You actually attend to go through with this?"Cell retorted.
"What are you thinking, Kakarot?"Vegeta thought with a glare. "There is must be a plan behind this! This insanity!"
"I know it sounds crazy but you'll understand soon enough."Goku stated. "The person that I am about to name is a lot stronger than I am. So if you enjoy the challenge of fighting me, Cell. Your going to like the next one even better. Of course, you'll probably won't feel that way about it after he has beaten you."
"What's that?"Cell questioned.
"I said that you'll probably won't feel that way about it after he beats you."Goku answered.
"A bold statement."Cell responded. "You certainly have a lot of faith and confidence of this mystery fighter of yours."
Goku nodded in respond.
"Well, I hope for your sake that your confidence has not been misplaced."Cell declared. "Now where is he? Where is this great and invisible champion?"
"Oh, his here."Goku remarked. "He just doesn't know it yet."
"I'm losing my patience, Goku!"Cell growled. "Say the name!"
"Alright, I will!"Goku replied.
Vegeta, Trunks, Minako, Krillin, Piccolo, Gohan, Chika, Yamcha, Tien and Android 16 looked at Goku quietly as they waited for him to announce who will be the one to fight Cell next.
Goku looked at his companions.
"Alright guys, I'm afraid I can't win this fight so I need someone to take over."Goku stated and smiled at Gohan. "And that someone is you, son."
Surprised looks grew on Trunks, Minako, Krillin, Gohan and Chika's faces.
"Brother?"Chika said in surprise.
"Gohan?!"Piccolo thought angrily. "His going to get his own son killed! That fool!"
"He wants me to fight?"Gohan thought. "What can I do? I mean if dad can't beat Cell, how can I? It's impossible!"
"Nothing is impossible, Gohan."Chika thought.
Goku flew up and landed in front of his children.
"You can do it, son."Goku assured with a confident smile.
"M-Me fight with Cell?"Gohan asked.
Cell glared down at Goku.
"Disappointing."Cell scowled quietly. "He promises me a challenge and he gives me nothing but a child."
"Goku! Stop this!"Piccolo demanded. "Think about what your saying! Think about what's going to happen if you maintain this course of action! If Goku fights with Cell his going to die!"
"Listen. Gohan has a power hidden within him that you and I can't even begin to imagine."Goku responded. "Just think about it. Don't you realise his been keeping up with us ever since he was just a little boy? I can remember back when I was his age, I wasn't half as strong as he is."
"Hey Goku."Krillin said. "We all know Gohan is strong for his age. But...but fighting Cell."
"Your just going to have to trust me."Goku replied. "I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't know Gohan could win."
"You believe Gohan can do it, daddy?"Chika asked.
"Yes, Chika."Goku responded with a nod. "I have faith that Gohan defeat Cell."
Goku walked up to Gohan, who had a unsure look on his face.
"Look at me, son."Goku instructed with a smile. "Tell me something. When Cell and I were fighting back there, did you think it was hard to keep up at all? I mean were we ever moving too fast for you to see?"
"No, I could see it all."Gohan answered. "But that's because you and Cell were fighting with your full power. I'm sure if you were moving as fast as you could then..."
"I don't know about Cell, son."Goku replied and placed his hands on Gohan's shoulders. "But I was giving my all. You thought I was holding back because you were comparing the energy you sensed from me to your own."
"Is this true, Gohan?"Piccolo questioned.
"Yes."Gohan answered with a nod.
"That's so cool, Gohan."Chika chuckled.
"This is unbelievable!"Vegeta thought in shock. "His just a child! How can he be-it's impossible!"
Cell let out a sinister chuckle.
"Any day now."Cell sneered.
Goku and Chika smiled at Gohan.
"What do you say, son?"Goku asked. "Go out and win this one for me."
"Yeah, Gohan."Chika agreed. "That way we can all go home together."
Gohan looked at Goku and Chika quietly before smirking at them.
"Okay, Dad and Chika."Gohan responded with a confident smirk. "I'll do it."
Gohan throws down his shoulder pads and cape and heads to the desert floor.
"Krillin, do you have a Senzu Bean?"Goku asked. "Let me have one, okay?"
"Sure."Krillin answered.
"Thanks."Goku replied and took the Senzu Bean. "Hey Cell! Catch!"
Goku held the Senzu Bean but instead of eating it, he threw it to Cell which horrified the group of his actions.
"I think your going to need it!"Goku declared. "That's a Senzu Bean! Eat it!"
"You completely lost it!"Krillin scowled.
"Look, Cell is completely worn out right now."Goku admitted. "It just wouldn't be fair if Gohan beats him when his not at his best you know?"
"Dad! Cell doesn't care about being fair!"Chika argued. "His a monster!"
"Your daughter is correct."Cell chuckled evilly. "What a fool. Doesn't he realise the only thing he managed to do is insure his son's demise. Thank you, Goku. I will now take this bean without hesitation. Your over confidence has betrayed you. You will regret your actions soon enough."
Cell takes the bean and goes back to full power, with the Dragon Team in complete awe and shock at Goku's actions.
"Wonderful."Cell replied with a sinister smile. "Now let's get started."
"You guys! We can't let Gohan go through with this!"Krillin protested.
"No."Piccolo answered grimly. "I'm afraid its too late to turn back now, Krillin."
Cell looked at Gohan.
"So child are you ready?"Cell asked.
Gohan responded by powering up which caused bright energy beams coming into him.
Vegeta, Trunks, Minako, Krillin, Piccolo, Chika, Yamcha and Tien except Goku watched the sight in shock.
"Whoa..."Chika whispered.
"Uncle Gohan is amazing when he is young."Minako remarked with a hint of pride.
"That's it, son."Goku thought proudly.
"Perhaps there is more to this boy than I thought."Cell thought.
"Okay Cell, I'm ready!"Gohan announced.
"Gohan, I hope you are ready."Piccolo responded with a unsure look. "You aren't going to get a second chance."
"His actually doing this."Vegeta said in shock. "How can he be some sort of match against Cell?"
"Well, perhaps Goku wasn't bluffing about his son's strength."Cell commented. "Of course, it is a pitiful exaggeration to say that he was stronger than me. Oh well."
Cell landed behind Gohan as the young boy turned around and stood in his fighting position.
"Well, I'll give you this."Cell sneered. "You are certainly brave and more loyal too. Not many sons are willingly to die for their fathers battles, you know? Your devotion is most admirable."
"You can do this, Gohan!"Goku called out.
Cell and Gohan started to fight against each other.
Cell kicked at Gohan, but the young boy blocked it.
Chika began to notice Gohan was dodging Cell than fighting him, but had hope her twin brother had a plan how to defeat Cell.
Cell turned to follow Gohan and goes for a kick, but Gohan dodged his attack.
The two fighters both land and then Cell grabbed Gohan by the shirt and headbutts him hard.
Everyone except Goku began to grow worried about Gohan.
"He's losing."Trunks replied.
Krillin looked over at Goku in shock.
"Don't you even care?"Krillin protested. "Goku! If you don't do something right now, Gohan is gonna die!"
"Come on, Gohan."Chika begged. "Please, hang in there."
Cell hits Gohan in the face before throwing him into the air.
Cell extended his arm and looked at Gohan.
"Good fight kid."Cell admitted evilly. "But I'm afraid to say that like all good things it must come to an end."
Cell let out a shout before powering up a blast in his hand towards Gohan.
This made Gohan crash through a rock and through the middle of various hills.
"No...Gohan..."Piccolo murmured.
"It's...it's over..."Trunks responded.
"He's gone."Krillin added.
"It can't be."Minako denied weakly. "He...just can't."
Cell looked back to Goku, who was surprisingly still smirking.
"That was almost to easy, then again it always is."Cell declared smugly.
"Gohan!"Chika sobbed and covered her face. "His dead!"
"You're wrong, Chika."Goku answered. "Can't you sense his energy? He's fine."
Chika's eyes widen when Gohan gets up from the rubble and wiped away the blood from his lip.
"Gohan!"Trunks remarked.
Minako sighed in relief seeing her future uncle still alive.
"Way to stay alive, bro!"Krillin chuckled.
"Thank goodness."Chika commented and wiped the tears from her eyes.
Cell's eyes widened and grunted in disbelief when Gohan began to approach and stopped in front of him.
"Well, maybe I misjudged you."Cell insisted. "Seems like you got a lot more nerve then I gave you credit for."
"We don't have to do this."Gohan stated with a glare. "This fight Cell...it's meaningless."
"You sound just like your father."Cell sneered. "Do you honestly think I'll stop my Cell Games just cause you think they're meaningless?"
Gohan nodded. "Yes."
"Well think again, let me explain something to you."Cell admitted. "You have to fight unless you beat me here today, I'll destroy the Earth! Now how's that for meaning?"
"I'm telling you I don't want to fight anymore Cell."Gohan responded. "Even though your evil, I really have no desire to kill you."
"Wow, check it out."Krillin complemented. "Gohan looks intense. Wish I knew what he was saying."
"His probably telling Cell, your gonna pay for all the horrible things you have done."Minako suggested.
"You don't have to continue this senseless violence."Gohan said. "You could put an end to all of it right now. I don't want to-"
"You don't want for fight."Cell interrupted. "Yes, I understand that. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I did I just hear you threaten to kill me?"
Gohan just glared at Cell.
"Interesting."Cell answered smugly. "And what makes you think you can carry out this threat? Really do tell..."
"I know now what my father meant."Gohan admitted. "I know now why I'm the only one who can take you down."
"Don't make me laugh."Cell sneered. "You can't touch me, kid."
Gohan moved his glare to the ground.
"No, maybe not right now."Gohan commented. "But I think it's important you know exactly what's going to happen, if you push me."
Gohan explained to Cell what happens when you get him fired up and loses himself when the power emerged.
"That was a long time ago and since then I have gotten much stronger."Gohan stated. "My dad even thinks I'm as strong as he is now. He took that into account I think. I think he realized that that if I were to be pushed to far if I were to lose control there's no telling how powerful I'd become, and there's not telling what kind of damage a power like that might cause."
Cell simply laughed at the boy's explanation.
"An interesting story, but is didn't work."Cell responded.
"Huh?"Gohan said in confusion.
"We'll not in the way you intended it, but you have given me something to work for."Cell complemented. "You see Gohan, this hidden power of yours intrigues me. And now that I know about it, I'm determined to see it...FOR MYSELF!"
Gohan's eyes widened when Cell slapped him.
Chika gasped in horror when Cell began to beat Gohan around trying to unlock his hidden power and knocked him down to stomped on his head.
"Goku!"Krillin snapped. "We can't let this go on!"
"Cell doesn't want Gohan, he wants to fight you!"Minako protested. "Please do something!"
"Don't worry guys."Goku assured with a smile. "Gohan is going to win, trust me. Okay, he's fine."
"How can you smile when Gohan is getting hurt, dad?"Chika thought. "I can't stand seeing this."
Cell charged after Gohan and attacks with a punch, but Gohan dodges and kicked Cell in the face, knocking him to the ground.
"Yeah!"Krillin cheered. "Way to stick it to him Gohan!"
Cell rose to his feet and had a small amount of blood dripping from the left side of his mouth.
The Android wiped the blood away with his thumb and smirked at Gohan.
"Well, then looks like I may get through to you yet."Cell declared.
"You can do this, Gohan."Goku thought confidently. "I know you can. Show everyone what a incredible fighter you are."
"Gohan, let's see if we could give your engine a jump start."Cell responded.
Cell extended his arm out and shot a blast through his finger, but Gohan easily ducked it by bending backwards.
Cell attacks Gohan with a series of Death Beams, which the young warrior nimbly dodged.
"Gohan, let's see if we could give your engine a jump start."

"Careful, Gohan!"Krillin called out. "That's one of Frieza's finishing moves!"
Gohan gritted his teeth in anger as he remembered that this was the attack that Frieza used to kill Chika back in Namek.
After using his last Death Beam as a distraction, Cell dashes towards Gohan and trapped him in a bear hug.
Gohan screamed out in pain as Cell began to crush him.
"Think about it, a wretched way to die."Cell chuckled evilly. "No one can stop me! Except for you, Gohan! Except for you!"
"Goku! Stop him!"Piccolo demanded.
Chika growled in anger as Gohan's screams got louder.
"Come on! I know this hurts you!"Cell sneered with a cruel smile. "What are you waiting for? I can feel your bones beginning to crack, so if you're going to act through it now!"
"Dad..."Chika started.
"Goku!"Piccolo shouted with a glare. "You could stand their all you want, but I'm helping Gohan!"
Goku glared back at Piccolo.
"No! Your not!"Goku snapped. "You and I both know your not strong enough to fight Cell, so wait! Just a little bit longer."
"For what?!"Piccolo argued. "For Gohan to get killed? For Cell to rip him to pieces while we watch?!"
Goku looked back over to Gohan and smirked.
"We wait until he has no choice then."Goku explained. "Right when Gohan is backed into a corner with no way out he'll awaken his furious inner strength."
"Inner strength?"Chika questioned. "But..."
"And when that happens, you watch."Goku insisted. "Gohan will hark Cell down once and for all!"
All the other fighters stared at Goku in awe.
"Has Kakarot gone insane?!"Vegeta thought. "How can he have so much faith in a boy?!"
Chika looked back at Gohan, who was still screaming in pain and trying to wriggle out of Cells massive hug.
"That's it scream out! Get angry!"Cell cackled. "It makes you mad that your in pain!"
Cell continued giving Gohan a spine crushing bear hug which caused Chika to worry.
"No! Gohan!"Chika cried out. "I'm coming-"
Chika tried to rush to her brother's aide, but Goku immediately stopped her from doing so.
"Chika, don't."Goku ordered.
"Dad! What is wrong with you?!"Chika growled. "Gohan is pain and your standing around doing nothing!"
"Goku, Gohan may have that power but it doesn't matter!"Piccolo stated. "He doesn't thirst for battle and mayhem! His not a fighter like you! Do you want to know what his thinking?! His not thinking about strength or competition! He's wondering why his father is standing there letting me die! Your son may be the most powerful person in the world! But he's also a scared 11 year old boy!"
Goku paled and froze at Piccolo's words as they sank into him.
"I'd rather die then wait."Piccolo scowled.
Piccolo took off his cape and turban as Chika placed her hand onto her father's and gave him a pleading look.
"Krillin, throw me a sensu bean."Goku ordered.
"Oh sure."Krillin answered with a smile.
Krillin pulled out his sensu bean sack as Cell dropped Gohan on the ground allowing the young boy to breathe.
Cell chuckled when Gohan fell face first in front of him.
Goku, Chika, Piccolo, Trunks, Minako, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien and Android 16 looked at Gohan with worry and shock as he panted for air and shut his eyes.
Cell looked down at Gotham with a unimpressed look.
"Stubborn creature, you refuse to fight back despite all the pain that I inflict on you."Cell scoffed and smirked evilly. "Perhaps you'd respond better to the pain of your dear old friends. Should I start with your sister first?"
Gohan's eyes snapped open at Cell's last sentence as Cell flew towards his companions.
"No, don't!"Gohan shouted as he placed his head up.
Piccolo tried to fly to him but Cell just flew passed him.
Cell landed right in front of Krillin and snatched the sensu bean sack out of his hands and held them up.
"These are those nifty sensu beans, right?"Cell asked smugly. "Well, you won't mind if I hold onto them."
"I was too late..."Goku muttered.
Piccolo landed behind Goku and Chika.
"Darn Cell!"Piccolo growled furiously.
Chika glared at Cell as he flew back down in front of Gohan with the sensu bean sack in his hand.
"With these out of the way I won't even have to fight them myself."Cell chuckled sinisterly.
"Wait!"Gohan demanded as he sat on one knee. "What are you planning to do?!"
"I'm going to do whatever it takes to make you angry and bring out your full power."Cell declared. "And if your friends end up dead, you blame yourself for being so stubborn."
"Please don't to this!"Gohan begged. "If you unleash my power I won't be able to stop it! I'll kill you!"
"Oh Gohan."Cell sneered. "I assure you that once I've had my fill I'll stop you myself."
Cell glanced at the Z Fighters and smirked at them.
"This is it!"Piccolo warned. "Cell is about to make his move!"
"I shoulda eaten a bean when I had the chance."Goku murmured.
Gohan charged at Cell, but the monster kicked him into some nearby rubble.
"That's the spirit, let your fury overcome you."Cell challenged.
Just then, Android 16 unexpectedly flew in, capturing Cell in a bear hug.
"Stop this, 16!"Cell demanded.
"He got him."Chika said.
"Cell couldn't detect his approached because he's an android."Piccolo replied.
"16 is going to try to defeat Cell on his own."Krillin admitted.
"But why would he if he knows it's just suicide?"Trunks questioned.
"This is nuts."Minako retorted.
"We've got to help him!"Piccolo insisted.
The Z Fighters moved forward to help Android 16, but the Android refused their help.
"No! Stay back, please!"Android 16 ordered. "I will kill him by self-destructing!"
Vegeta, Trunks, Minako, Krillin, Piccolo, Goku, Chika, Yamcha and Tien became shocked at Android 16's respond.
"Self-destruct?!"Goku said in shock.
"I have a powerful explosive embedded deep in my body."Android 16 exclaimed. "It was intended to be a last resort. I am sorry that we androids have caused so much suffering here on Earth."
Everyone stared at Android 16 in complete horror.
"Cell! No matter how strong you are you will not survive this explosion!"Android 16 shouted. "Cell. You destroy life. You are a parasite to this planet and I see now this is the best way to destroy you. Dr Gero's sick ambition to terrorize this world through us will ultimately be put to rest by his own devices."
"Wow, he's really doing it!"Yamcha stated.
Everyone closed their eyes as Android 16 began to glow to attempt to detonate himself, but nothing happened.
"Huh?"Yamcha said in confusion. "Where is the bang?"
"What?!"Android 16 shouted in shock. "Something is wrong! The trigger is gone!"
"You can't 16!"Krillin yelled out. "Cause your bomb...was removed!"
Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, Minako, Goku, Piccolo, Chika, Tien and Yamcha all looked at Krillin.
"HUH?!"They shouted in unison.
"I overheard Bulma talking about it."Krillin explained. "You see she...she and her dad kinda found that bomb of yours while they were trying to fix you and then they removed it!"
Krillin looked at Android 16.
"It's gone now!"Krillin shouted. "You have to fight him another way!"
Cell chuckled evilly at Krillin's revelation.
"Sorry 16, I'm staying."Cell sneered. "But if you have a death allow me not to let you down."
Cell turned and ripped Android 16 apart with a Ki Blast causing everyone to become horrified.
Cell placed his foot on Android 16's head and smirked.
"16."Cell snickered. "His petty existence just proved Dr Gero had flaws."
Cell brought his leg back and swung it forward kicking Android 16's head far away.
Gohan watched the sight in shock.
"Does anyone else want to be a martyr today?"Cell asked.
Vegeta, Trunks, Minako, Goku, Piccolo, Chika, Krillin,Tien and Yamcha all growled and glared at Cell.
"That scoundrel!"Vegeta scowled.
Cell smirked and looked back at Gohan,!who was growling at him as well.
"So Gohan, we still haven't gotten you mad."Cell said. "Let's try some friendly persuasion."
Cell turned back to the other fighters.
"Let's see, what do we have here, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine."Cell counted and smirked. "That's easy enough."
Cell began to clench his fists and make his wings spring up a bit.
"What in the world is he doing to his body now?"Vegeta questioned.
Everyone watched in shock as Cell popped nine miniature copies of himself from his tail.
"What the heck are those things?!"Trunks asked.
"Disgusting."Minako muttered bitterly.
"Now, my dear children."Cell said. "Those nine on the cliff are your enemies. Give them pain. Kill them if it makes you happy."
Gohan watched the sight in fear.
"Hop to it."Cell ordered.
The nine Cell Juniors laughed evilly as all head to the Z Fighters to fight against them.
"Guys, be on guard!"Goku shouted. "They're all incredibly strong!"
"Come on!"Vegeta growled.
Vegeta powered up to his Super Saiyan form and Trunks growled and did the same as his father.
Chika powered up a little and flew forward as Minako changed into her Super Saiyan form and followed after her.
"Just try."Cell challenged. "They may be small but they've inherited my power."
The Cell Juniors begin their attack on the nine Z Fighters.
For a little bit, the Z Fighters hold their own, but that quickly changed.
Yamcha got his arm broken while Tien just got smacked around.
Only Trunks, Vegeta, Chika and Minako were able to remotely put up a fight.
Goku was tired from the fight with Cell and started losing to one of the Cell Juniors.
Chika dodged the punches of the Cell Junior she was fighting with before she leapt up and slammed her leg hard onto his neck as Minako angrily punched the one she was fighting with on the stomach.
"Play time is over, children!"Cell announced. "You can kill them now!"
"NOOO!"Gohan cried out angrily.
Cell smirked seeing that Gohan was getting more angry than before.
"Good. Good. One more push is all he needs."Cell thought with a cruel smile and looked at the Juniors. "Hurry up! First one with a kill gets a price!"
Suddenly Android 16's head bounced between Gohan and Cell, thrown by Hercule.
"Gohan, let it go."Android 16 ordered. "It is not a sin to fight for the right cause. There are those who's words alone will not reach. Cell is such a being. I know how you feel Gohan. You are gentle. You do not like to hurt. I know because I too have learned these feelings. But is because you cherish life that you must protect it."
"Ugh. This sentimental junk is killing me."Cell admitted smugly. "It's so nice of you to help, 16. But I plan on doing this my way."
Android 16 smiled at Gohan.
"Please drop the restrain."Android 16 encouraged. "Protect the planet I love. You have the strength. My scanners sensed it. Just let it go."
Cell comes over and stepped on Android 16's head, smashing it to pieces.
Seeing the innocent android murdered right before his eyes, pushes Gohan to his breaking point.
"AHHHHHHHHH!"Gohan roared out in rage.
Gohan's power began skyrocketing, much to the shock of Cell and the Cell Juniors.
"Gohan..."Chika whispered in amazement.
All the fighters stopped and look with awe, sensing Gohan's power increased as he assumed the Super Saiyan 2 form.
