Day At The Park

[Mal and Evie's home. 7:36 am]

Carlos' POV

Jay, and I were dressed and were waiting patiently for Lonnie and Jane when we saw Evie walk into the living room.

"Hey, boys." she greeted.

"Hi, Evie." I said.

"Hey." Jay said.

"Is Lonnie and Jane still getting ready?" Evie asked.

"They are." Jay replied.

"So is Mal." Evie said.

We followed Evie into the kitchen where she began taking plates of food out of the refrigerator. It was our leftovers from last night.

"Hey, did we hear a scream come from upstairs?" Jay asked.

Evie stopped what she was doing and smiled at us.

"You heard that?" she asked.

"We did." Jay replied.

"Everything's okay, right?" I asked.

"Absolutely! Mal scared me, that's all." Evie replied.

"How?" I asked.

Evie shrugged.

"Just being herself."

Jay and I helped Evie pack the lunch for our trip to the park. As we were wrapping up, Lonnie and Jane walked in the kitchen looking beautiful as ever.

"Hey." Evie greeted.

"HI!" the girls greeted back.

I exchanged kisses with Jane as Jay exchanged kisses with Lonnie.

"I'm excited to see this wonderful city you and Mal are living in!" Jane exclaimed.

"As am I." I said.

Evie warmly smiled at us.

"Patience, you two." she said.

"Hi, Mal." Lonnie said a couple minutes later.

The rest of us turned and saw Mal walk into the kitchen wearing her purple Isle jacket over her outfit which included black jeans and black winter boots.

"Wow, Mal. The last time I saw you wear that…" I said.

"Yeah. It's been a while. But since you guys are here, I might as well wear it." Mal said.

"You look beautiful, baby." Evie said to her.

"Thanks, E."

"Mal is always beautiful." Lonnie said.

"That she is." Jane said.

Mal smiled.

"Are we all ready to go?" Jay asked.

"I think we are. Our lunch is all packed for our picnic, so I think we are good to go." Evie replied.

"Yay!" Jane exclaimed.

The girls grabbed their purses, and Jay and I followed them into the garage. However, an issue popped up.

"Um, E?" Mal said.

"Yes, M?"

"How are we going to get six people in our car when it's only able to have five?"

"Oh...Well, hmm."

"Didn't think of that, did you?" Jay asked Mal.

"Evie didn't think of it." Mal said.

"Hey!" Evie exclaimed.

"I have an idea. Carlos, how about I sit on your lap?" Jane said.

"Well, that's alright with me. Evie?" I said.

"I don't know. I'm a bit concerned about being spotted by the police. I could get in trouble for 'endangering you'." Evie said.

"Oh, come on, Evie. If you get pulled over again, just flash the cop like you did when we first arrived." Mal said.

"I did not flash him! I just merely unzipped my jacket to...show off my bra." Evie said.

"Flash sounds better." Jay said.

"Right?" Mal asked while pointing at Jay

"I'm sure the four of us can sit in the back. It's just going to be a bit of a tight fit, that's all." Lonnie said.

"That's what she said."

Evie lightly smacked Mal on her right shoulder.

"Get in!"

Mal laughed as she got into the car. The four of us did manage to fit in the back. Jane partially sat on me, but it wasn't too obvious.

[Pacific Spirit Regional Park. 8:01 am]

Carlos' POV

We arrived at the park with no trouble at all. It certainly was a beautiful day. It was a little cold, but nice and sunny and the tree leaves had a cool spectrum of colors.

"Oh this is wonderful!" Evie said as she got out of the car.

The rest of us were out and joined Evie. However, Jay tried to be sneaky about something.

"Ah!" Evie yelled as she slapped Jay's hand away from a bag that had some of our lunch in.

"What?" he asked innocently.

"You're just as bad as Mal." Evie responded.

Mal laughed.

"It's okay, Jay. It's hard to get something past her." she said.

Evie put her hands on her hips and just looked at Mal.

"Let's go for a walk and then we'll eat later." she said seriously, but playfully.

Mal laughed again and her and Jay started off ahead of us.

"She's happy and herself again." I said.

"She is." Evie said with a small laugh.

"We better get going before we lose them." Lonnie said.

"Indeed." Evie said.

Jay's POV

Mal and I found a nice grassy spot by the water. I arrived first with Mal running up to me.

"Jay, why does it seem like you rushed to get here?" Mal asked.

"Because I was." I replied.

"Well, yeah. But why? Were we having a race or something?"

"No I just wanted to get ahead of the others so I can be alone with you for a moment. I said.

"Oh?"

I looked around real quick then I pulled Mal into a hug.

"Oh!" she exclaimed, but happily hugged me back.

"I missed you so much, sis." I said.

"Oh, I missed you too, bro. I really have." Mal said.

Secretly, it still kind of bothers me on how I treated Mal after she was spelled. Everyone is past that and all is forgiven between us, but I felt I needed to do one thing in order to have closure.

"Mal? Can I ask you something? Something that I hate to have to ask you, but I feel I have to."

"Yeah. What's wrong?" Mal asked with a caring and concerned look on her face.

"You forgave me, right? I still feel bad about how I treated you after you were...you know...spelled."

Like I said, I hate having to ask, but I felt I had to one last time. I didn't know what to expect of Mal, but she still had a caring look on her face. She hugged me tighter and let out a short laugh.

"Oh, Jay. All is good. It's been good. I have forgiven you. Don't doubt it anymore, okay?"

"Okay."

She gave me a kiss on the cheek and rubbed my back.

"Feel better?" she asked.

I happily nodded.

"Good."

Mal breathed in the air and looked around her.

"Hey, this is a nice view. But I hope we didn't leave the others feeling lost." Mal said.

"We didn't. There they are." I said, pointing to my left.

Evie, Carlos, Jane and Lonnie walked toward us as Mal was waving to them.

"I see you guys found a nice view." Evie said.

"We have, sweetness." Mal said before she kissed Evie.

"Shall we go for a walk on a trail?" Jane asked as she pointed to a nearby sign that had a trail name on it.

"Yeah, let's go." Evie said.

"Wanna race, Mal?" I asked.

Mal smiled and nodded.

"Sure!"

"Just be careful you guys. I don't want either of you to slip and fall." Evie said.

"Yes, Evie." Mal and I said together before taking off.

Evie's POV

"So, Evie, tell us more about your job." Jane said as we began our walk with Carlos and Lonnie.

"I heard it's perfect for you." Carlos said.

"Yes. I was quite lucky to get it. Gabi is a wonderful boss and Elegance Industries is wonderful to work at."

"And what is it you do again?" Lonnie asked.

"I'm a personal assistant."

"Oh yeah! That's right!"

I told them more about what I do until we met up with Mal and Jay at a small bridge with a small stream running underneath.

"Waiting up for us?" I asked.

Mal shrugged.

"I guess. We're just taking a break."

"From all that running, huh?"

"Yeah."

I put my arms around Mal and kissed her on the neck. Afterwards, I grabbed her hand.

"Walk with me now." I said.

"And you are going to walk with me." Lonnie said to Jay.

"Alright." Jay said.

We continued along the trail, admiring the views and the tall trees.

"You know, Vancouver kind of reminds me of Auradon. It looks similar, but yet different in it's own way." Jane said.

"I've noticed that too." Mal said.

"But being here brings us the fresh start that we so needed." I said.

Jane's POV

We continued to walk for a few hours until we felt really tired and our feet were hurting. We walked back to the car to get our lunch. Then we walked to the spot Mal and Jay were when we arrived to have our lunch. The spot had wonderful views of the waters and the city buildings in the distance.

"Who wants turkey?" Evie asked.

"Me!" Everyone said at the same time.

Mal helped Evie fill up each of our plates then passed it to us. And it was nice eating lunch with Mal and Evie again. I know Carlos, Jay and Lonnie felt the same way. And I noticed Mal and Evie are close. I mean of course they are, they're engaged. And watching Mal spoon feed Evie was such a cute thing to see.

After a filling lunch, we all laid on the grass, looking at the sky.

"I'm stuffed." Mal said.

"Same." Carlos said.

Mal groaned as she laid herself on top of Evie.

"Where's the restroom around here? I got to go." Jay said.

"I think it's over there." I said as I pointed to the right.

"Cool. Be right back." Jay said as he took off.

"I'm going as well." Lonnie said.

"Don't piss on the seat!" Mal shouted.

"Mal!" Evie exclaimed.

Mal laughed and snuggled herself closer to Evie. Then I felt Carlos put his arms around me.

"Hey, you know, I've been wondering something about you two." Mal said.

"What's that?" Carlos asked.

"How have you both been? Like in your relationship?"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean, what base are you two on now? Last time we talked about this, Carlos, you said you and Jane were planning on taking things to the next level. So where are you both now?" Mal asked.

Carlos and I smiled at each other before answering.

"Homerun." Carlos replied.

Mal gasped happily.

"Really?!"

"Yeah. It's been wonderful." I said.

"That's awesome! I'm so happy for you guys! Sex really is amazing. Right, E?"

"It is." Evie said.

"You know, I still can't believe that you two are engaged." I said.

"Right?! Evie got me such a beautiful ring." Mal said as she raised it up into the air, looking at it shine in the sunlight.

"Only the best for my baby. FYI your right elbow is digging into my side." Evie said.

"Oh, sorry, E!"

Mal got off Evie and sat up.

"You good?" she asked.

"Yeah."

Carlos gave me a kiss before he helped me up. Couple minutes later Jay and Lonnie returned from the restroom and rejoined us.

"So, what did we miss?" Lonnie asked.

"We were just talking about our relationships." Mal replied.

"Oh yeah?" Jay asked.

"Yeah. Hey, what base are you two in?" Mal asked.

"Fourth." Lonnie replied.

"I knew it."

"Are you going to ask everyone about their sex life?" Evie asked.

"Of course not, Evie! I'm just curious about our family, that's all." Mal said.

"I know. Just messing with you. I love you."

"I love you too." Mal said.

"Well, shall we go for another walk?" Lonnie asked.

"Yeah, let's go!" I said.

"Sounds good to me. I'll join you as soon as I put the remains of our leftovers in the car." Evie said.

"I'll help you out, E." Mal said.

"Thanks, babe."

We waited for Mal and Evie, then they happily joined us.

"There's a trail that leads to a beach. We should go there." Evie said.

"Sounds good. Let's go!" Jay said.

Mal grabbed Evie's hand, Carlos grabbed mine, and Jay grabbed Lonnie's. And us three couples found ourselves in a race to get to the beach.
