My Beautiful Bride

...

Just like Tarika described him indeed Abhijeet was a very boring person. Abhijeet didn't give a damn on this though. And also, Tarika believed genuine persons were happened to be boring. Because you couldn't fake boringness. And to her, Abhijeet was like an ocean to read and understand. She said she liked him that way and she would never get bored of him. He never accepted but it's flattering indeed.

Tarika was mysterious and amazing. Modern and very different from rest of the girls. Or at least Abhijeet thought. There's very less to complain about her. But it came as a blow to him when Tarika announced she's gonna have every ritual of their marriage. During the entire period of their relationship they hardly had talked about marriage. But still, he didn't expect Tarika to become desperate of marriage programmes. Abhijeet wanted to have it simple. If not court marriage then a simple temple one would have gone fine with him. But Tarika clearly denied.

'Oh c'mon Abhijeet! I'm marrying the man of my dream. I can't stay calm at all. And I do need to look like a bride and feel every moment of it.' She had said. They did have small agruement over this but finally Abhijeet had to let Tarika win. Well, he liked to describe it this way. Otherwise, we all know he had to loss. (wink).

Finally they settled on - One Function. And that's marriage. ACP sir would through a party for them though as a reception programme. Abhijeet tried to persue him for not doing that but when did ACP have ever listened to anyone!

After a series of rituals now when Abhijeet was sitting on marriage stage with the Pandit, waiting for his bride to join him, his patient started to evaporate. He was continuosly telling himself 'For my Tarika. For my Lady. For my would be wife ' to calm his mind.

That 'Dulhan ko bulaiye' line was said a long a time ago by the pandit and the girls and aunties had gone to receive her from her room too. What was taking them so long? Damn! Did Tarika run away from the marriage? No no, though bit hurt by Abhijeet's dismissal for other marriage functions Tarika was really happy for the marriage. And she's a sensible girl. Instead. of running away she would have called off the marriage politely!

'You are thinking so much Abhijeet!' Abhijeet talked to himself.

And then the giggles of women made him look up. That was a moment. Sure, he was taken aback by Tarika's look and move multiple times in the past decade but never in his life everything around him became so slow and fading that he felt himself being in a movie scene.

His eyes travelled up slowly from her feet to her face. The purple colour lehenga was looking so beautiful on her. That moment, Abhijeet regretted for not having any poetic quality in him. He would have written a poem on her. He had hardly seen her wrapped in heavy jwellaries but he never imagined he would be caught dead in her beauty like this. He had heard people saying a woman looks prettiest in her wedding attire. He didn't believe. But pretty heck, he's sure like anything he wouldn't find Tarika more beautiful than this ever in his entire life. Not even if he made Tarika taking this get up all over again.

As she walked down the stairs, slowly and carefully, holding her floral gorgeous lehenga in her hands, with a shy smile plastered on her face Abhijeet could feel his heart thumping against his chest loudly. The thought of her looking this amazingly beautiful only for him was taking his heart away.

How could someone look so beautiful and welcoming? All the other women were dressed up just like her but anybody could tell she's the bride of the evening. Was her smile making her different from everyone? Or its only him?

Lucky, he agreed to have a ritualful marriage on her request. Otherwise, he would have been deprived of this beauty of her.

But, damn! He wished he hadn't cancelled the other series of events Tarika was blabbing about. She might have nailed every events with her beauty. And also his heart.

As Tarika settled beside him he whispered,

"I am glad I agreed for this."

Tarika's smile became broader listening to this. All her complains and irritations faded away with his simple yet genuine complement.
