Chapter 68 – The Ring
Elrood Systems:
The Falcon was arriving at the capital of the Elrood System, Elrooden for the supplies that Han needed.
"Okay Luke. All we need now is this last supply and then we can back home." Han said as Chewie turn off the ship.
"Glad cause I miss my wife and my boy." Luke said.
"This is quick, and in 3 days we are home. But you are about to meet the most unusual man ever. So I'm warning you already that if he try to marry one of his daughters to you don't be shock because he does that to every guy" Han laughed making Luke frown at that.
"Why does he do that?"
"Well Newel has 7 daughters" Han started making Luke spit the water he was drinking
"7 daughters? Let me guess he was trying for the son but never got it"
"Bingo" Han laughed making Luke shaking his head. "So when he sees a new guy he try to marry one of his daughters with him."
"Without knowing if the guy is a good one or not?"
"That is Newel get use it. But when is someone known like you, I just want to warn you about that, so you don't be get in shock when he sees you, hears your name and right away he tried to introduce his daughters"
"Let me guess he tried to do that to you?" Luke laughed
"What do you think?" Han said rolling his eyes
"Well to bad for Newel that I'm happily married and I'm crazy about my beautiful, sexy and strong wife" Luke smiled as the ramp touched the ground the three of them were greet by small man with no hair and big beard
"Solo! Chewbacca! It is the time for your supplies, already?" he started and stopped when he saw Luke "That is a new face"
"Here we go!" Han whispered to Luke and Chewie growled
"Who is this?" Newel asked Han
"Let me introduce to you Luke Skywalker" Han said while Luke shook Newel hands
"Luke Skywalker. THE Luke Skywalker" Newel gave a big smile "You look young. How old are you?"
Han looked at Luke raising his eyebrows.
Luke smiled at the man
"I will make 24 in two weeks"
"So young. Who knew that the legendary Skywalker is only 23 years old. I have two daughters around your age. Maybe I should introduce them to you!"
"Thank you very much and I'm sure your daughters are very nice ladies and very beautiful, but I already met the love of my life" he said showing his wedding ring and clearly he saw the disappointment in the man's face.
"Lucky lady" he said
"Actually I'm the lucky one"
"Yes Newel, this one and his wife are the type of couple who are madly in love with each other, so much that the first time they share the bed he got her pregnant" Han said making Chewie laughed, making Luke looked at them
"Thanks a lot for tell my sex life with my wife to everyone" Luke rolled his eyes
"So you are a father."
"Yes, to my beautiful nephew" Han said smiling.
Luke shook his head knowing why Han had to tell the poor man that he and Ines had a boy. He was happy to have a boy but he also couldn't wait to have his two little girls.
"A son. Lucky one" the man said "So you came for the usual right? Then let's get this done"
Han looked at Luke and they started to take the containers inside the Falcon.
After a few hours, all the supplies were inside the Falcon and they were saying goodbye to Newel.
Coruscant:
It was night in Coruscant and rain was falling outside. Ines was waiting for Luke's call, since he used to call him at that hour. She knew he was alright cause they felt each other through the force.
Right now she had her Ben on her arms, rocking him, trying to comfort him since he had being a little upset. He was wimping for a while, and she sense he was missing his father.
"I know my little love. I miss your father too, be he is about to call and we can see him pretty soon" she said kissing his head.
Ben started to cry again making Ines heart hurt because he didn't like to see her baby cry and she couldn't do anything about it. She knew he was not hungry, dirty, or in pain, he simply miss his father.
"Oh baby don't cry" she said with tears in her eyes, while kissing Ben's little cheeks.
The intercom beeped and she pressed the button and Luke's voice was heard from the other said.
"Hey. How are the two loves of my life?" he asked but the sound of Ben's cries made him worried right away "Babe what is wrong with him? Why is he crying?"
"I think he misses you." she said "Ben, look papa is talking"
Luke started to talk to the baby
"Ben, hello baby. Don't cry. Papa would be home in 2 days baby. I miss you too"
The moment Ben's listen Luke's voice his cries started to slow down, as he put his hand on his mouth and look at the intercom
"Awww he really misses you Luke. He recognizes your voice and stopped crying"
"Of course he does. I talked to you a lot when you were in your mother's belly, right my son" Luke started to call and Ben gave a little smile
"Luke, he is smiling"
"That's my boy. I will be home in two days. I miss both of you so much"
"We miss you too my love so much" Ines said "Can't wait to be in your arms"
"And I can't wait to have you in my arms" Luke said "Besides I can't wait to see the Temple"
"I hope you like it. Leia did think it is very awesome" Ines smiled "But your opinion is the most important to me."
"I have a feeling I will love it." He said "I have to go now. I love you so much both of you."
"We love you too Luke. See you in 2 days"
"See you in 2 days"
And the intercom went off, making Ines raise Ben's up to face her.
"Soon your father will be with us my little love" and kissed his little cheeks.
Millennium Falcon:
Luke sat down, by the game table near Chewie and Han and started eating his dinner.
"So how is Ines and Ben?" Han asked him
"They are fine. My son was crying when I called but because he missed me. The moment he heard my voice he stopped crying and smile. I miss them so much" Luke sighed sadly.
Han kept looking at his food, making Luke look at Chewie and frown. Chewie looked at Luke like he didn't know what was going on.
"Han are you okay?"
Han looked at Luke
"Luke, remember when we left the Death Star and you asked me what I thought of Leia?"
Luke looked at Han surprise by that question.
"Yes. Why are you asking me that?"
"Because when I asked what you thought of a Princess and me, you said no right away"
"Yes I did say that."
"So you think that I'm not good for Leia"
Luke was finding that question so strange
"Not it all. Back that time I found Leia cute, until I found out we were twins, but my heart was already beating for Ines. Remember when you said about Ines and I said don't even think about it right away? And if I think you are not good for Leia, do you think I'm so happy that she has you and I was happy for you when both of you were about to be parents, which sadly didn't happen. Come on Han, really, what are you talking about?"
Han took something from his pocket and opening a box he revealed a beautiful and mesmerizing ribbons of metal and pavé diamonds twist around the band and center gem of this unique halo ring.
Luke gasped at the ring
"Han is that what I think it is?" Luke looked closer to the ring "It is beautiful. Leia will love it"
"Do you think so?"
"I know for sure. I never thought you would propose so soon I have to say" Luke smiled and gave back the ring to Han. "It will be an honor calling you my brother in law, for real this time. I told in Endor that there was no other man I would like to be with my sister but you Han"
"I don't know how to do it. How did you propose Ines the way you did?"
"I already had planned to propose her when everything was over and the fireworks just gave me a great idea. But I know you will propose in a great way too."
"Thanks for your support"
"Come on, we went through to so many things together. I happy for both of you" Luke smiled "Trust me, even if you are together now, the moment she becomes yours officially, it is a feeling that it makes you feel so good. I've being with Ines for a more than a year when we got married, but when we married and she was officially mine, I felt complete. I'm hers and she is mine and together we made a beautiful baby. And you will feel the same, trust me" Luke smiled
"Who knew me a married man" Han said and they all laughed.
Now Luke couldn't wait to get home to tell the big news to his wife.
