Chapter 68 Dreaded Clash
(The Train Station)
After making the very difficult decision to leave behind his previous life. Oscar set off on his own towards Haven with the voice in his head serving as his guide. Though what surprised Oscar the most isn't the fact that he's listening to a voice in his head. But the fact that he's accompanied by the mysterious girl that appeared in his life several months ago, Izana. Oscar made it clear that it will be a dangerous journey and he doesn't know what will happen. But the young girl insisted on journeying with him and after a good deal of time being pestered. Oscar reluctantly agreed to have a new travel companion. On the condition that if anything should happen and neither of their safety is guaranteed. Then she is to get to safety and forget the entire journey.
"It's quite a distance to Haven, are you sure its where we're supposed to go?" Oscar asked Ozpin
"Yes, I know that your scared, but given the state of Vale and recent events. Haven Academy is where your supposed to be. Though I'm surprised that you've agreed to bring the young girl along." Ozpin told Oscar in a slightly worried tone
"You know she insisted on it, this works out for us in the long run you know. I go on this journey and we make progress towards finding out who she is. We might even find her family." Oscar said before he went to the terminal to purchase a ticket. Once Oscar touched his lien card to the terminal. A notice popped up that said clearly insufficient funds.
"I supposed you wouldn't have any access to an unlimited bank account, would you?" Oscar asked Ozpin
"I'm sorry but that is something your going to have to figure out yourself." Ozpin told Oscar in a slightly regretful tone
"Phantom, I believe the terminal made an error. It is only right that its corrected." Izanami mentally commanded the apparition. A brief second later before Oscar can take away the Lien card. The terminal notice was changed from insufficient funds to approved. After that, two train tickets came out of terminal to a surprised Oscar.
"What happened, the machine must be busted or something." Oscar said in a slightly confused tone
"Given that we are on a dire mission and time isn't on our side. I would like to think of it as a sign of good fortune." Ozpin told Oscar easing his guilt as the farmhand gave the ticket to Izana.
(The Belladona Estate)
"Grr, bad monkey, bad bad bad monkey. I oughta tear you up meow. You and Black Cat went out and fought the bad guys without me." Tao said in an angry tone
"Its not like we were looking for a fight. Someone was spying on us and things kinda escalated from there." Sun said defending himself
"I understand the initiative but it was still reckless. The both of you could have gotten seriously hurt. Still, I'm glad your both safe but I am truly disturbed about someone spying on us."
"Well we have her Scroll so if we take a crack at it. We're bound to learn something about why she was spying on us." Sun said optimistically while Blake give him a slightly worried look
"Maybe we should leave these two alone." Kali said before her and Ghira left Blake, Sun, and Tao alone with each other. Once the two have left, Blake thought about the argument her and Sun had and decided to be the first to speak.
"Meow, Tora might come by again and spend time with us. I can't wait to play with her again and again." Tao said before she ran off in excitement
"Do you think I like being alone like this?" Blake asked Sun
"What do you mean by that?" Sun asked
"Sun, have you ever thought about why I ran off the way I did when Beacon fell?" Blake asked in a low tone
"What do you mean?" Sun asked
"Is there a part of you that thinks that I enjoy running away as much as I do? That I enjoy seeing people get hurt when I should have been able to prevent it. Have you even stopped to think about why I needed to figure things out?" Blake asked before she spoke further
"When I went on that mission with my team a few months ago. I was asked how I was going to fight the injustice in the world and I couldn't come up with an answer. Makoto even said that I was handling my problems the wrong way. When the Grimm Breach was stopped, I thought that my problems were over. But when the White Fang attacked the school, I didn't know what else to do. But instead of trying to figure something out, I ran because I blamed myself." Blake explained to Sun
"Listen, you can't blame yourself for what the White Fang has done. Because you and I, along with every one of our friends knows that none of it is your fault. I admit that you made some bad decisions about the White Fang. But that doesn't mean you should just give up on yourself and on us." Sun said before he continued to explain his point further
"I mean just think about it, when you saw that the White Fang were up to no good. You actually tried to stop them, even though you wanted to help them. What I said before, I just mean that you can't leave things unfinished. You told me yourself that you've been involved with the White Fang your entire life. So don't you think that you owe it to yourself to finish what you started." Sun explained further before he spoke even further
"As for us getting hurt, we knew the risk the moment we decided to help you. I mean come on, we're training to fight the Grimm. We were prepared to get hurt because we believed in what you were doing. But to see you give up on yourself, and turn your back on us after everything we've been through together. That hurts more than anything that can happen to us. So you need to pick yourself up and do something other than wallow in pity and doubt. While remembering that you have friends who will have your back." Sun proudly stated to Blake as she started to perk herself up
"I . . . ." Blake started to say before they heard Tao from a distance
"Grr, your with those bad people moew. Get out before I have to really rough you up." Tao said which can be heard from a distance
"Something might be wrong." Blake said in a concerned tone as her and Sun proceeded to go the main hall
Once Blake and Sun made it to the door. The both of them saw two people in a strange uniform at the door. The two who were at the door are clearly Faunus but are wearing very similar outfits and are clearly brothers. When they looked further, they see Kali doing the best she can to hold back Tao while Ghira is standing between the two. Blake didn't know what was going on but she was visibly concerned.
"Mom, Dad, what's going on and who are these two?" Blake asked as she saw Tao being held back
"These two are Corsac and Fennec and they are representatives of the White Fang of Menagerie." Ghira briefly answered
"No wonder Tao is angry, these guys are with the White Fang and we all know there bad news." Sun said agreeing with Tao
"I know that the White Fang has made some mistakes. But please understand that the media is simply exaggerating some aspects of our activities." Corsac told Sun
"An exaggeration, we already know that the White Fang showed up at Beacon and brought the Grimm there." Blake angrily said to Corsac before Ghira spoke up
"I already know of the White Fang's role in the Fall of Beacon. This information has already been confirmed so there's no point in trying to deny this." Ghira said agreeing with Blake
"That is one of the reasons we've come here. You see, Adam Taurus has taken a moderate number of members and have done things without approval from Sienna Khan. Fortunately, Adam has been apprehended and is detained. Once he fullfills the terms of his punishment, he will return to serve the White Fang under the strictest supervision." Fennec explained to everyone which surprised the group
"Return to the White Fang. He needs to be arrested and put in jail. Because of what he's done, a lot of people were killed." Blake said in a tone of disbelief
"It is true that Adam's actions are inexcusable. But many of us have seen the recordings and the Atlus Soldiers and the Grimm did more harm than the White Fang. Though Adam ha a role in the destruction. It's greatly mitigated compared to the other threats. Especially compared to the threat that is the Beast of Remnant." Fennec responded to Blake
"Well you guys aren't so innocent yourselves. We caught one of your members spying on us." Sun stated to the brothers
"I see, it was unfortunate that sister Ilia was discovered." Fennec responded
"Meow, so you admit that you sent someone to spy on us." Tao proclaimed before Ghira spoke up
"I don't recall ever agreeing to have guards from the White Fang." Ghira said getting frustrated at the brothers
"You misunderstand Chieftain, we sent sister Ilia to observe your home for your protection." Fennec responded
"Our protection?" Khali said before Corsac spoke up
"You see, ever since the Beast of Remnant has emerged. The rate of attacks against the Faunus have increased drastically. The ignorant humans are under the belief that the Faunus have played a role in the resurrection of the Black Beast. So they assume that if the Faunus population dwindled. Then the Black Beast will no longer be among us." Corsac explained to the horrified people
"But, that's insane, we Faunus had nothing to do with the return of the Black Beast." Blake stated to the Albain brothers
"We couldn't agree more, but the humans are acting out of ignorance. Though there is a silver lining to this. Because of the increased attacks, the recruitment rate of the White Fang has significantly increased. If the humans are willing to attack the Faunus, then there is a possibility that the humans can do something against Menagerie. We know that you share a concern for the humans. So we figured that this would be one of those moments where its better to ask for forgiveness than permission." Fennec explained further their reasoning for Ilia spying on them.
"I appreciate your concern, though in the future I don't want anymore spies in my home. Though if it will put you both at ease, I will allow Ilia to continue her activities. But that is the only leniency I'm granting." Ghira stated to the brothers
"Thank you for understanding Chieftain. Sister Belladona, you attended the same school at the same time as the Beast of Remnant. Despite being the Beast, the White Fang has an interest in Ragna the Bloodedge. So if you know anything about him please share the details with us. Even information about his brother Jin Kisaragi would be very helpful." Corsac said causing Blake to think for a second
"Why do you need to know about Jin?" Sun asked in a cautious tone
"Jin is the Hero of Vale, he was essential in stopping the Grimm Breach and was able to stop the rampage of the Beast of Remnant. Therefore the White Fang has an interest in him despite being a human." Fennec responded to Sun
There was a part of Blake that was tempted to give information about both Ragna and Jin. In the case of Ragna, the Faunus are being attacked because of a power that he has. But she also knows that Ragna stood by the Faunus since the beginning and will be nothing short of a betrayal if she gives up information on him. For Jin, Blake was more tempted to give up information him.
Jin has been very critical of the White Fang and despite knowing the abuse they've had to endure. He has shown no form of sympathies regarding the White Fang's pain. Yet as she thought about Jin's words, she slowly started to understand everything he was saying. Though Adam has played a major role in the Fall of Beacon. There were many who were complacent in the White Fang's destructive ways and did as she did and walked away and did nothing. The White Fang have never taken accountability for the lives they have ended and expected the humans to accept it. Thinking about this, Blake fully understands her father's teachings and Jin's words. Besides, Jin saved her from Adam and that showed that despite his jerk nature. There truly is good within him and the cycle of revenge needs to end.
"No, we attended a few classes but nothing else. There's nothing for me to tell you." Blake said which surprised Tao and Sun
"I understand, but if you can recall anything please reach out to us. Also your more than welcomed to return to the White Fang. We're certain sister Ilia will be overjoyed of your return." Fennec said as him and his brother left. When the two made a moderate distance from the manor. They spoke to each other in a low tone
"It was quite fortunate that we didn't send details of our plans for Haven Academy to Sister Ilia." Fennec told Corsac
"Indeed, and it is clear that Blake is hiding something as well. As Brother Taurus said, her and the Belladona's aren't important. But for now, we should focus on building our forces." Corsac told Fennec, unknown to the both of them. Tora Kaka was hidden nearby and overheard their conversation.
"Looks like the White Fang is up to something interesting. Sorry Tao, but it looks like my visit is going to be postponed." Tora thought to herself as she continued to eavesdrop on the two talking to each other
(Yang's Room)
After a good deal of time has been spent training. Thanks to the training, Yang is fully ready to go on her intended Journey. As an added bonus, Makoto will be going with Yang to the intended journey. Once the decision has been set, Yang spent time in her room getting what she would need for the trip. After getting everything she could, she went over everything one more time. Since it will be a long trip for the two. Yang wanted to make sure that she was thorough.
"Alright, spare fuel for Bumblebee in case I run out of gas. Extra ammo in case me and Makoto get into trouble. Since Makoto is handling the food, this should be everything." Yang said before she started to leave. Before she went out of the room. She came across two pieces of paper that caught Yang's instinctive attention. When she grabbed the pictures, she saw that one of them was a picture of Ragna and his family. The other picture was of Ragna and Yang after the time in the Hotel.
"I don't know why I kept these things." Yang said to herself with a lot of suppressed anger. After making that statement, she proceeded to walk towards the small trashcan in her room and was ready to tear the pictures in half.
Yet before she could go through with the action. She stopped herself and had a hard time mustering the strength to do and found herself in thought bout everything. She tried to tear the picture in half. But found herself thinking about the times when her and Ragna were close. Thanks in no small part to her remembering what Makoto and her father told her. Yang tried again to muster up the strength to tear the pictures. But instead quickly found herself doing something else instead.
"I don't know why I'm doing this." Yang said to herself before she folded the pictures up and put them in her pocket. After she did that, Yang left her room ready for her next journey
(Toiyome Village)
At the sight of the Abnormal Nuckelavee Grimm, Ren was filled with a great deal of rage. The reason is that he is seeing the very thing that was responsible for the loss of his home and death of his parents. The young man never fully recovered and seeing the thing responsible for ruining his life. Ren couldn't help but to be guided by revenge and despite Jin's warning to stay calm. Ren's emotions proved to be the superior sense.
"Gyaaaa!" Ren yelled as he proceeded to charge towards the Abnormal Nuckelavee.
Once Ren got close, the Abnormal Nuckelavee used its spear to smack Ren to the side. Fortunately Ren was able to both block the attack and quickly recovered. Though shortly after recovering, Ren proceeded to fire at the Abnor al Grimm. But his shots were blocked by the abnormal Nuckelavee's lance.
While the Abnormal Nuckelavee was blocking Ren's gun shots. Jin proceeded to run towards the Grimm and tried to attack it from the side. Before he could get to close, the Abnormal Grimm noticed Jin and quickly swung its lance at him. Jin was able to block the attack but he realized that he needed to think of a different plan.
Before Jin could think of anything, the Abnormal Nuckelavee's markings started to glow for a brief second. After the markings glowed, it started to breath an intense green fire stream at Jin. Realizing the power behind the green flamethrower. Jin used his sword and semblance to create an ice wall. The ice wall was sturdy enough to block the green flamethrower. But Jin quickly realized he underestimated its strength and the ice wall wasn't going to last long. Before Jin could do anything further, he noticed Ren running towards the Abnormal Nuckelavee Grimm.
"YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME!" Ren yelled as he was running towards the Grimm
As he was getting closer, Ren jumped towards the Abnormal Grimm's face. Before Ren could get closer, the abnormal Nuckelavee stopped its intense flamethrower and was able to quickly notice Ren. Once it did so, it grabbed Ren and slammed him to the ground. After Ren was slammed to the ground, the Abnormal Nuckelavee made a move to stab him with its lance. Before the lance could even reach Ren. Jin was able to get between the two and block the lance attack. After the lance attack was blocked, the Abnormal Nuckelavee roared before the markings on its armor plates glowed again. This time the flaming mane that was on the Abnormal Nuckelavee's back disappeared and almost immediately after that. A large flaming explosion soon followed and both Ren and Jin were pushed back.
Fortunately, their aura prevented them from being severely burnt. But it is clear that they sustained significant injuries and their aura were briefly flashing. Jin quickly recovered but he knew that he had to figure out the Abnormal Nuckelavee's weakness. Because of both its strength and abilities. Making things worse is Ren's reckless actions towards the Abnormal Grimm. Jin warned Ren not to let his personal feelings affect his judgement. But seeing Ren's actions made Jin realize that his warning fell on deaf ears.
After recovering, Jin looked around and saw that Ren was struggling to get up. Before Jin could go help Ren, the Abnormal Nuckelavee started to attack Jin with its lance. Using his skills and reflexes, Jin was able to block and avoid each of the Abnormal Nuckelavee's attacks. After dodging another lance attack, Jin was able to cut the lance and froze it to the ground. The Abnormal Grimm was unable to move its lance and while it was stuck. Jin proceeded to run on the lance and leaped towards the Abnormal Nuckelavee and cut its face. Jin was unable to freeze it, but the injury was strong enough for the abnormal Grimm to roar in pain. Briefly after it roared, the Abnormal Nuckelavee's flaming mane was restored and it turned its head towards Ren.
Once it looked at Ren, it's markings started to glow and it proceeded to blast an powerful flamethrower at Ren. The green ninja tried to run away from the flaming blast, but quickly realized that he wouldn't be able to outrun the intense fire blast. Before the green flames could reach Ren, an ice wall emerged and was able to protect him from the fire blast. When Ren looked to see what happened, he saw that Jin had cut the ground and used his semblance and Yukianesa. Though before either of the two could do anything further, the Abnormal Nuckelevee was able to break its lance out of the ice and quickly attack Jin with it.
The attack was strong enough to knock Jin back a good distance and once he impacted the wall. Jin's aura flickered even further than it did before. Once Jin noticed this, he started to realize that he was running low on aura and it won't be too long before it breaks. As Jin was thinking of a plan, he noticed that Ren was running towards the Abnormal Grimm and continued to shoot at it while he was doing so. Before long, Ren was standing between the Abnormal Nuckelavee and Jin.
"YOU DESTROYED MY HOME AND KILLED MY FAMILY! FIGHT ME YOU MONSTER!" Ren yelled at the abnormal Grimm with a lot of anger. After Jin yelled, the Abnormal Nuckelavee looked at Ren in what appears to be a look of disappointment.
"Weak." The Abnormal Nuckelavee muttered to Ren which surprised both him and Jin before it proceeded to fire another green fire blast. Before the blast could reach them, Jin used what's left of his strength and aura to create another ice wall. But this time it wasn't going to hold for long.
"Get out of here Ren, it's clear that we underestimated its strength." Jin told Ren while keeping the ice wall stable
"This Grimm killed my family and destroyed my home. Do you expect me to run while I have the chance to fight it?" Ren told Jin with his anger intact
"It's because of your anger that your not seeing things clearly. This Grimm knew that you would be blinded by anger and used it against you. Instead of fighting smart, you lost your focus and played into its hands and made things worse." Jin stated causing Ren to have a look of guilt at the realization of what his reckless anger has done. Noticing Ren's guilt, Jin started to speak further
"At the very least, we have a good understanding of its abilities and intelligence. If you can go and alert a Huntsman, this Kingdom will be properly prepared." Jin told Ren explaining his decision to be left behind.
Ren felt a good deal of guilt at the current situation. At the sight of the very Grimm that killed his family. He couldn't maintain any type of composure because of the pain from his past. But realized too late that it blinded him and did more harm than good. Before Ren could think about things further, Jin couldn't maintain the ice wall any further and his aura broke shortly after the ice wall was destroyed. Shortly after that, the two were pushed back and while Ren could stand up. Jin was struggling to recover and clearly needed more time to restore his aura. Though before either of them could act, they looked at the Abnormal Nuckelavee and saw that it was getting ready to fire another intense fire blast.
"I don't have enough strength or aura to create another ice wall. Get to safety, I'll only slow you down." Jin told Ren prepared for the next attack from the Abnormal Nuckelavee. When the Abnormal Nuckelavee made its blast, it felt like time slowed down for the two. As the both of them were ready to die in the inevitable blast. Before the blast could reach them. They saw a strange figure diving towards the Abnormal Nuckelavee. As the seconds went by, the figure started to come into view much more clearly and the both of them saw that it was Nora wielding her hammer.
"TAKE THIS YOU ABNORMAL CREEP!" Nora yelled as she was getting closer. The moment she got close, she slammed the hammer on the Abnormal Nuckelavee's head and caused it to blast the ground instead of Jin and Ren.
It didn't take long for the Abnormal Nuckelavee to shrug off the hammer attack. As a result, the Abnormal Nuckleavee used its lance to attack Nora and move her away from it. After Nora was moved by the Abnormal Nuckelavee, it resumed its fire blast at Ren and Jin. Before the fire blast could reach them, a red figure went towards the two young men and quickly moved them away from the blast. After the fire blast missed, Qrow appeared and started to quickly cut its legs. The Abnormal Nuckelavee used its lance to attack Qrow while it was close. Fortunately the veteran Huntsman was able to avoid the lance attacks and eventually managed to get away from Abnormal Grimm.
"You guys." Ren said in a surprised tone at the sight of his friends coming to help him and Jin
"We don't leave anyone behind, we all may not see eye to eye on certain things. But it doesn't change the fact that we're still a team." Ruby said as she was helping Jin up and they all faced the Abnormal Nuckelavee
"Do either of you have an idea on how to fight that thing? Those armor plates makes it harder to injure properl and its surprisingly good with that lance." Qrow said while looking at the threat
"It's also capable of intelligence, not only that but it also has two fire attacks. The first one is the one you've seen which is that flamethrower. The second attack is the one we really have two watch out for, which is a short range explosion that's around its body. It's stronger than the flamethrower and is capable of weakening our aura. There is a weakness to the explosion attack though. I noticed that once it uses its explosion, it won't be able to use its fire abilities. Which will give us a chance to attack it close up." Jin explained to the group
"Alright, this makes the plan clear. We have to keep up the attack pressure and force it to use the explosion. Once it uses the explosion, that's our window to finish it off. Jin, since your aura broke, you can't fight as aggressively as you usually do." Qrow said before the group proceeded to fight the Abnormal Nuckelavee.
Jin didn't have enough time to recover his aura. But his Nox Nyctores was still able to freeze the things it cuts. Therefore, he proceeded to cut the Abnormal Nuckelavee's legs and continued to stay away from its lance. Ruby proceeded to use her semblance to attack one side of the Nuckelavee's torso. While Nora proceeded to attack the other side with her grenade launcher. The Abnormal Nuckelavee used its lance to block the grenades. But this gave Nora the chance to get closer and attack it with her hammer.
Nora's hammer attack staggered the Abnormal Nuckelavee, but it quickly recovered and smacked Nora away from it. After Ruby spent some attacking the side of the Abnormal Nuckelavee. She stopped using her semblance and stood by Ren and proceeded to fire at it. The gunshots weren't doing anything to the Abnormal Nuckelavee. But they were strong enough to keep the Abnormal Grimm's attention away from Nora and Jin. The divided attention of the Abnormal Nuckelavee gave Jin enough time to restore a moderate portion of his aura. The moment his aura was restored, Jin proceeded to freeze the ground and the Abnormal Nuckelavee had trouble standing up.
Taking advantage of the Abnormal Nuckelavee's imbalance. Nora transformed her grenade launcher to its hammer form and managed to launch herself above the Abnormal Nuckelavee's head. Once Nora was in position, she smashed the Abnormal Grimm's head and due to the frozen ground. The Abnormal Grimm fell to the ground. Before the Abnormal Nuckelavee was able to recover. Qrow, Ruby, and Ren was able to get closer to the abnormal Grimm and proceeded to attack it from all sides. Due to the relentless attacks from everyone. Some of the armor plates started to have cracks. The group maintained the attack pressure before they noticed that the green markings started to glow.
"ENOUGH!" The Abnormal Nuckelavee Yelled which surprised everyone. Before anyone could point out what happened. Ren started to yell
"It's about to use it's explosion!" Ren yelled signaling everyone to get away from the Abnormal Nuckelavee. Ruby used her semblance and got closer to Qrow and moved further away. Ren and Nora ran away from the blast as fast as they can. But they realized that they won't be able to get away from the explosive blast in time. Once Ruby got far enough away, she stopped using her semblance and turned around to see Ren and Nora were falling behind. At the sight of this, Ruby reached out and attempted to use her semblance to go and catch up to them and save them. Before Ruby could do anything, Jin was riding his ice blade and stood between Nora and Ren and the explosion. He used his remaining aura and strength to create an ice wall and protected the two from the explosion. The ice wall shattered and the three were pushed back, but they were safe.
Shortly after the Abnormal Nuckelevee made the explosion. Everyone made a motion to go towards the Abnormal Nuckelavee. But before anyone could get close, the Abnormal Nuckelaavee used its lance to attack Jin and was able to knock him back a good distance. Thanks to his armor, Jin wasn't severely hurt. But the Nuckelavee wasn't finished and proceeded to throw its lance at him. Jin tried to block the attack since he wouldn't be able to avoid it in time. But he was knocked down as a result. After Jin was knocked down, the Abnormal Nuckelavee called back its weapon and was able to stand up and made an attempt to kill Jin.
When Ruby saw Jin in danger, she was reminded of a similar scenario with Pyrrha and more recently when they were fighting the controlled Penny. She even remembered that even though he could have made things easier for himself if he focused solely on the Abnormal Grimm. He chose instead to help Ren and even went out of his way to help both Ren and Nora to ensure they are safe from the blast. This act also reminded Ruby of the time Jin saved her from Penny's attack when she was being controlled. Remembering that Jin consistently went out of his way to help her and her friends. Reminded Ruby of the fact that despite having harsh words. He still understands what it means to be a Huntsman and that is to protect people. In this moment, as Ruby's eyes were glowing. She realized that she was wrong about Jin.
"NO!" Ruby yelled before her silver eyes flashed. Once it flashed, the area was in enveloped in a bright light and as quickly as it appeared, it dissipated. Once the light dissipated, the Abnormal Nuckelavee was frozen in stone. A brief second later, the stone was broken free and the Abnormal Nuckelavee looked different.
The Grimm no longer had the armor plates and the green burning mane and the armor plates were gone. Though the green markings were there, the Abnormal Nuckelavee was severely weakened and the armor plates were slowly being restored. Seeing the weakened Abnormal Grimm, Ren walked towards it with a special knife in hand. Ruby made a motion to help him. But Nora stopped her by gently placing her hand on Ruby's shoulder and simply nodding.
"For my Father and Mother." Ren said as he proceeded to slash the Nuckelavee Grimm before he spoke again
"For all the lives you've ended." Ren said as he slashed at the Nuckelavee further before speaking for the final time
"For all the destruction you've caused and the evil you've spread. It is time to avenge it all." Re said before he delivered the final decisive strike to the Nuckelavee's neck and shortly dissipated in a large smoke. Once the Nuckelavee was finally dead, everyone sat down at the nearby bench and gathered their breath.
"You did it Ren, you took down that Grimm from your past." Ruby said praising her friend
"How did you know?" Ren asked in a curious tone
"Nora told us about that Grimm on our way here. She had a feeling about it when she saw the footprint and realized that this was personal for you. But that didn't matter, we still don't leave our friends behind." Ruby said happy that the fight against the powerful threat is finished.
"Thank you, but I would have been dead if it wasn't for Jin. I was fighting recklessly and Jin focused on making sure I didn't die." Ren told the group causing them to look at Jin
"It was necessary to keep him alive. Don't forget, Jaune asked me to help keep you all safe and above everything else, I do keep my word." Jin stated to the group in a cold tone
"Typical, can't even take a compliment when its given to you. But, if it wasn't for you Ren could have died. You even helped me and Ren from that explosive blast. So . . . . thank you for helping us Jin. But don't tell everyone I thanked you." Nora said with a slight reluctance
"Looks like we've got some company." Qrow said when they noticed an airship flying towards their location. After a few seconds, the airship landed and several medics came out and approached the group
"What happened here? We received a distress signal and it took longer than we thought to get here." The Medic said to Qrow who was clearly a Huntsman
"A powerful Grimm destroyed this Village not too long ago. The Grimm was an Abnormal breed and it took all of us to bring it down. It even gave me a veteran Huntsman and the Hero of Vale a run for our money." Qrow said while the Medic looked at everyone and is glad to see the Grimm destroyed.
"I see, thank you for dealing with that Grimm. We have been receiving reports of a strong Grimm that's been terrorizing many Villages. We've lost a lot of people trying to fight the thing. Since we come from the City of Mistral, we can patch you guys up and take you there." The Medic said which made everyone happy
"Thanks, we've been trying to get to the city ourselves. You came in the nick of time." Qrow said before everyone got on board the airship. Once they got onboard, the medics started to treat those who are significantly injured. Ruby was glad that they all have an airship and that they no longer have to travel by road to get to their destination. Though when she looked at Jin, she is still angry at what he did to Penny. But she also has a sense of gratitude when she thought back to all the times Jn helped them on this journey including saving her life.
"Jin." Ruby said which had gotten his attention
"What I said before, about you not caring about anyone. I'm sorry, I wanted to save Penny. But I didn't think or care about anything else. I see that you do care, and I never stopped to think about that. You do deserve the power that you have and thank you for helping us." Ruby told Jin in a grateful tone
"Like I said, your thanks aren't necessary. The fact that all of you are alive, is the only gratitude I need." Jin said while having a thoughtful look on his face
"Like I said, how very typical of him. I remember that Blacksmith saying how he looks like Hakumen. I hope that Hakumen himself doesn't have an attitude like his." Nora said as the airship they were in were flying away to its destination. Unknown to all of them, Relius were watching the entire events unfold from a good distance while making sure he wasn't seen or noticed.
"I see, so that is the power of the Silver Eyes. Terumi is right, it is inferior to the Three Azures. But it can still be a threat to the Grimm, especially the Abnormals. Come Ignis, it is time that we return to Salem." Relius said before he left with Ignis

It's one thing to be in the presence of a very powerful individual. But its an entirely different matter when one is opposing that powerful individual. Team RBAL were prepared to fight against Hakumen to help Ragna who they've seen as a friend. But the killing intent from the White Void makes it clear that Hakumen fully intends to carry through with his threat. Bang, knows that trying to reason with such a legendary foe would be pointless. But he know that Hakumen understands honor and wishes to at least try.
"Master Hakumen, I do understand that you are doing what you believe is right. But please understand that Ragna is not the enemy, if you could only speak with us for a moment. You can see that we are pursing the true enemy to the world." Bang said trying to reason with Hakuman
"None of you know what the Beast is capable of. Your misguided loyalty will give the Beast a chance to bring this world to ruin once again. I will do what I must to prevent that at all cost!" Hakumen stated while taking up a stance
"Let's do this then!" Bullet yelled before she used her gauntlet part to launch herself towards Hakumen at an intense speed.
Bullet was still significantly powered up from the use of her semblance from her fight with Hazel. She was confident that with the raw power that's surging through her body. She'll be able to either stun or push back the Masked figure a great distance. Once Bullet got close, she proceeded to throw a punch and a split second later. Her fist was able to make contact with something a strong shockwave was made as a result along with a dust cloud. The moment the dust cloud dissipated, everyone was surprised at what is being seen. Because they all see that Bullet's powered-up punch is being blocked by Hakumen with no effort from the White Void himself. Before Bullet could do anything in response, Hakumen tightened his grip on Bullet's fist and threw her to the side with ease. As a result, Bullet was indented to the nearby wall and she was struggling to get out.
"FU-RIN-KA-ZAN V2!" Bang yelled activating the second level of his semblance
After Bang activated his semblance, he proceeded to run around Hakuman at an intense and blinding speed. Bang's plan was to find an attack opening or failing that, confuse Hakuman long enough so that his friends can recover and so they can formulate a plan. Unfortunately, not too long after Bang started running around Hakumen. The White Void quickly swung his sword and was able to hit Bang with his sword swing. The sword attack was strong enough stop Bang's fast movements and as a follow-up. Hakumen punched him and Bang went deep into the ground with an intense impact.
Seeing both Bang and Bullet dealt with quickly and easily made Jaune realize how powerful Hakumen truly is. The blonde warrior has a strong suspicion that Hakumen is holding back. Because remembering what he can do from first-hand experience. Jaune believes that with the exception of Ragna. If the White Void really wanted to kill them, he would have done so. This realization gives Jaune the belief that Hakumen's restraint, is what's giving them a fighting chance.
Jaune proceeded to charge towards Hakumen and proceeded to slash at him with his sword. Hakumen proceeded to avoid each of Jaune's sword attacks and after a few seconds. Hakumen used his knee to deflect Jaune's sword attack and made attempted to attack Jaune. Reacting quickly, Jaune proceeded to block Hakumen's sword attack with his shield and was able to deflect Hakumen's sword attack. But as a result, Jaune was knocked back a small distance and his shield was knocked away in addition to that. Before Jaune could do anything further, Hakumen hit Jaune's torso with his sword handle and after that. Hakumen kicked Jaune away from him.
Once Jaune was kicked away, Hakumen quickly turned around and made a strong horizontal sword slash. Once he did so, he saw that it was Lambda that made the attempt to attack him and was able to push her away. Lambda managed to quickly recover and once she did so, she used her dual sword-guns to fire at Hakumen. Reacting quickly, Hakumen proceeded to use his sword to block Lanbda's gunshots. After the gunshots were blocked, Lambda used this chance to get closer to Hakumen and tried to attack him with her duel swords. Hakumen was able to block Lambda's sword attacks with relative ease. After blocking another sword attack, Hakumen was able to see an attack opening and managed to push Lambda away from him.
Lambda was able to recover once again. But this time her along with most of team RBAL were able to recover from Hakumen's attacks and started to surround Hakumen taking up various fighting stances. Bang and Bullet re-armed themselves and were facing Hakumen from the side. Jaune regained his shield and was armed and ready to face the White Void. While Lambda was armed with her dual swords and is prepared to face Hakumen head-on.
When the group looked at Hakumen, he didn't show any sign of being nervous. Instead, Hakumen calmly grabbed his sword and took up a simple stance. Not wanting to give him a chance. The group proceeded to charge towards Hakumen, ready to do what they can against the White Void. Though the moment they got closer, Hakumen swung his sword in a blinding and intense speed. That is faster than anything they have seen before. Though a very quick second later, Bang, Bullet, Jaune, and Lambda felt a sharp and immense pain. A split second after feeling this pain, they all fell to the ground and as they were falling, each of their aura broke.
"He's . . . . too strong." Bang struggle to say
"Damn . . . . he certainly lives up to the title Legendary Hero." Bullet struggled to say as well
"To think . . . he can do this to us easily." Jaune struggled to say along with the group
"You have all fought well, but the Beast must meet its end." Hakumen said as he started to make his way to Ragna
"He's right, you guys should rest up, this Masked Freak is mine. RESTRICTION RELEASE!" Ragna said as he was grabbing his sword.
The moment he grabbed his sword, Ragna quickly ran towards Hakumen and clashed swords with him. The moment the swords clashed, a powerful shockwave was soon followed. Briefly after the shockwave was made, Ragna and Hakumen started to fight against each other at an intense speed. Every attack that Ragna makes, Hakumen would quickly parry the attack with ease and make a counterattack to Ragna. Thanks to his training and advanced skill. Ragna was able to quickly avoid Hakumen's fatal attacks.
After avoiding the attacks of the White Void, Ragna made several attempts to attack Hakumen at an intense speed. Unfortunately for him, Hakumen was able to avoid Ragna's attacks and countered with an upward slash that was able to launch Ragna into the air. While Ragna was in the air, Hakumen proceeded to furiously slash at Ragna while he was in the air and didn't give him the chance to counterattack. This lasted a few seconds until Hakumen stopped his attack assault and Ragna fell to the ground.
Once Ragna was on the ground, Hakumen tried to slash at him before he could get up. Seeing the sword attack coming, Ragna quickly rolled to the side and after doing so he quickly recovered by getting up. Once Ragna stood up, he saw an opening and proceeded to deliver a strong sword attack and managed to not only hit Hakumen and in addition knocked him back a small distance. Everyone was surprised to see that no energy came from Hakumen and Ragna noticed something else that was strange.
"There's no aura coming out. What are you?" Ragna angrily asked while on guard
"I know what your semblance is Beast. Aura is the manifestation of the soul, but I have no semblance and my strength comes from both my soul and my will!" Hakumen yelled before he proceeded to attack Ragna at a furious speed
Reacting quickly Ragna found himself on the defensive from Hakumen's attacks. Realizing that his semblance won't do anything against Hakumen. In this moment, Ragna thought of a plan that was risky but should allow him to quickly deal with Hakumen. After blocking the attacks for a few more seconds. Ragna focused on his footing and held his ground while blocking Hakumen's attacks. While Ragna held his ground, he used a great deal of his strength to position his sword. Which allowed him to quickly spin around and attempted to slash at Hakumen with is sword. Unfortunately, Hakumen was able to quickly grab Ragna's sword with ease which surprised everyone. Before Ragna could do anything further, Hakumen landed a strong slash that was able to push Ragna back.
After Ragna was pushed back, he used the blaster function of his sword and proceeded to fire at Hakumen. The White Void proceeded to easily deflect each of Ragna's gun blasts despite the power behind each shot. As Ragna was blasting Hakumen, he started get closer to the White Void. Hoping to find an opening that would allow Ragna to find a way to deliver a powerful attack.
"Enough of this!" Hakumen yelled causing Jaune to notice something interesting
"That sounds familiar." Jaune said before he quickly remembered what Jin said during their first sparing match.
Once Hakumen spoke, he took up a different stance and a barrier appeared before him. When Ragna got close, he made a motion to attack Hakumen while he was close. Unfortunately, once Ragna hit the barrier, he was stunned with a strange energy and while Ragna was stunned. Hakumen delivered a powerful slash at Ragna and shortly afterwards. Several bursts of energy appeared around Ragna and he was greatly hurt with each burst before a powerful explosion soon followed. After the light from the explosion dissipated, Ragna is greatly injured and has many scars and injuries. Despite the injuries, Ragna made an attempt to attack Hakumen. But before he could even raise his sword, Hakumen stabbed Ragna through the stomach. After Ragna was stabbed, Hakumen pulled out his sword and Ragna fell to the ground.
"RAGNA!" Jaune yelled in a worried tone for his fallen friend

Once Cinder made significant progress with her recovery. She proceeded to start her training and has made great progress in getting a handle on her Maiden powers. Salem is amazed at the progress and drive that Cinder is displaying. She clearly sees that Cinder is driven to be stronger and feared. But she also suspects something else that's driving Cinder to get stronger. What drives Cinder is likely Ragna and the memory of how he was able to best her. As Salem was monitoring Cinder's training, she took a quick glance at Nu. Everytime Salem sees Nu, she is reminded of something that is also in herself. A strong desire for destruction, that is born from an unimaginable pain. Salem doesn't want to admit it, but she can relate to Nu in many ways. Due in no small part to experiencing the cruelties of the world. As Salem looked at Nu, the young girl had a shocked expression and started to yell in intense pain.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Nu yelled in intense pain that was noticed by everyone nearby.
"Nu, tell me what is wrong my child." Salem said in an unintentional motherly tone
"My Ragna, I feel it with my soul. He is in grave danger of dying." Nu said while clutching her chest
"You can feel it when Ragna is dying, interesting." Cinder thought with a hidden smirk that is hidden from everyone.

To clear a few things up, the power of the Silver Eyes is still effective against the Grimm and the Abnormal Grimm. But the Power of Order is still A LOT STRONGER than the Silver Eyes. Also, the Silver Eyes won't do any good against the Three Azures.
Since a good amount of time has passed, I have a question. I still plan on deviating from RWBY canon. But what are your thoughts on Volume 8 of RWBY. I have a general idea of the general opinion of the recent volume. But I would like to know what you guys think. I would also like to know how you guys would feel about my plans to divert from canon. Some diverting plans are set in stone. But I am curious to what you guys think.
