Chapter 69: Not So Nice
EARTH MHA-714-2
MUSUTAFU, JAPAN
U. A. HIGH SCHOOL
Ochaco and Momo arrived at the workshop, and it was noisy.
Ochaco sighed, "She must be working on something."
They pushed open the doors and started to make heads and tails of what they had been hearing. One of the sounds had been the portal device humming, but that wasn't the main one. Kurogiri, the warp gate villain, was on the floor screaming in agony. His body was twisting and contorting also affected his voice, distorting it to be recognized as a voice barely.
"Hi, Ochaco!" Toga instantly greeted and waved at Ochaco.
Shigaraki, like everyone else, was mildly surprised by Toga's reaction. Shigaraki rushed towards the heroes to deal with them quickly. Ochaco's eyes went wide; she barely noticed the villains. She did notice a small pile of dust with a pair of glinting familiar goggles. She had come for Hatsume, and she saw her goggles but not the girl who spent most of her time there, and just some dust.
Ochaco just heard the sound of her heart beating in her ear. A wave of cold washed over her. She remembered Hatsume, and yeah, she caused some trouble. She was over-eager and more than a little selfish.
Hatsume was also passionate about creating her tools, and she was excited for her babies. In her way, she wanted to help.
She didn't deserve what happened to her.
Then something in her rang out.
That's when Ochaco saw Shigaraki rushing towards her, and his hand outstretched towards her.
The beating in her heart was growing louder and louder.
Momo saw Shigaraki coming and moved to act. She started to create a staff from her arm to deflect the act. She barely finished when the air broke. She barely saw it when Ochaco punched Shigaraki with enough force to knock him across the room. Green sparks shot around her, but as she glared at the villain, the sparks started to turn pink.
Shigaraki shook, the air in his lungs shot out, and he was desperately trying to catch his breath.
Toga blinked, "Wow, you really wanted to be like Izuku, huh?"
Momo recovered, getting on the comm, "Emergency! The League of Villains is at the workshop with the portal device! We need back up!"
Mister Compress just rolled up his sleeves, "Well, I suppose we will have to do this the hard way."
0000
The meeting kept going along when Eraser Head rushed in, "We need everyone to evacuate immediately."
"What's going on?" All Might was the first to ask.
Eraser Head wasn't the most subtle of people, and when it came to it, this situation didn't give him time to try to be. "The League of Villains had infiltrated the school and have been spotted in the room with the portal device." The second he said those words, a cold chill entered the room. "There are heroes already on scene, and more are moving to back them up, "He motioned to the door, where a few of the school heroes, security forces, and the cops waited. "They will lead you to safety, any heroes up to help us."
"Lead the way," Mirko, the bunny-themed hero, was already out of her chair.
All Might moved to follow but was stopped by Eraser Head, "Go with the others," Eraser Head told him, "Your powers are gone. Keep the politicians here from panicking."
All Might sighed; he was right. His powers lasted for two seconds if he was lucky. Though at the very least, he could keep these people from doing anything rash.
Though from the extra edge in Eraser Head's voice, he knew he should be worried, the students had to be in the fight already.
All Might was Right to worry as two of their students were already in the center of the fight.
Ochaco and Momo were fighting off their opponents. Ochaco rushed in to get Shigaraki, but Toga got in her way.
"Hi! I was-"Toga had to dodge a punch from the other girl. Ochaco continued to attack her; Toga couldn't get a word in. Toga was very agile, and it allowed her to avoid the hits, but she had to keep moving.
Toga noticed the sparks we're new but couldn't ask.
Momo tried to rush in but stopped by Compress. Momo tried to slam the staff into him, but he managed to grab it with his mechanical hand.
"My dear, that won't do," He quickly compressed the staff down into a marble. Momo quickly created a pair of buttons to try and hold him off. She couldn't get too close to him.
Shigaraki sighed as the air got into his lungs. He hadn't planned to meet anyone. He wanted to get and out as soon as possible. Seeing Kurogiri in a pained state made that unlikely.
He wasn't going to leave them, and he did plan something else just in case someone got left behind.
He took out a phone and sent in a quick message when it went through, and he let it decay in his hand before he placed his hands on the wall.
0000
Outside the school, things had gotten tense, all the heroes had suddenly rushed inside, and the cops were pushing people back.
That when one person got a message, not that they were the only one getting the message. Giran had recruited a bunch of low-level villains for this. If everything went well, they could leave whenever and they'd get a nice payment for doing nothing, but this message meant they had to act.
"Hey! Where are the heroes going? What's going on in there! We deserve answers!"
"Yeah!" Crow yelled out.
Various people started to yell and scream, ordering the cops to let them in. This assignment didn't require any flashy quirk, just good old human psychology.
One of the villains in the crowd rushed to pass the cops and rushing towards the school. They were stopped, but another ran in. They were stopped like the first. Then an average person rushed in and another.
In the end, it wasn't quirks or master plans. It was just human desperation and panic. People desperate for answers quickly rushed in, overpowering the police officer. This would serve as a distraction for the heroes if the villains were found. With so many people running, they could hide amongst the crowds.
0000
Some of the heroes rushed into the building, with others close behind, when they spotted civilians running into the school. That's when the building collapsed into dust which was an unpleasant reminder that set everyone into a full-on riot.
Shigaraki managed to pull Compress close, "Grab Kurogiri, compress him, then do the same for the device."
"Are you sure?"
"We don't have any other choice."
The dust brought up by the building was giving them cover, and the riot would help as both a distraction and make sure they could fire wildly.
Shigaraki and Toga rushed in to keep them distracted.
Compress quickly compress the screaming Kurogiri, but as he did, he felt it was strange; even the marble was black instead of its usual blue.
AVENGER'S COMPOUND
Sivana smiled wickedly as he looked at the small group. Dendy held the still sleeping Kirby.
The Naked Mole rat squeaked at the villains, and Dendy pulled him close to her, not wanting him to get hurt by people much bigger than him. Looking, she noticed the two bots were offline again, and she could only guess FRIDAY and Scout were too.
"What is this about?" Greyman asked.
"The details are not important, and we are merely here to finish what our ally failed to do. Do not move against us, and you will be unharmed."
Alexis slipped his hands into his pockets, "Yeah, about that." He pulled out of his hand a few small black pelts and tossed them onto the ground. "Smoke bombs!"
A cloud of black smoke covered them.
The group quickly surrounded them to make sure they had no way to escape.
"Come now. A smokescreen won't save you," Sivana snickered.
The smoke faded away, and they were gone. Just the hoverchair hung there.
"Magic." Sivana growled, "Find them! Find anyone who is still here and deal with them."
0000
A smoke cloud appeared in a nearby hall, and the group plopped out.
"What happened?" Greyman asked, tumbling to the floor.
Alexis helped up, "Smoke bombs, a teleportation spell I trapped inside some pellets. It's quick, messy, and just for a quick spell to take us somewhere safe when cornered."
"Po?" Kirby woke up as Dendy placed him back on the ground with Rufus.
She asked, "What do we do?"
Greyman tried to balance himself on the wall; his legs weren't steady. "We have to get the system back online. We have to call for help, as we are; we are outmatched and outnumbered."
"Except that bald guy has a device like Destiny's that he used to shut everything off." Alexis pointed out, "As long as he has it turning everything on will be impossible."
"Good point, but we can't take them on by ourselves."
Alexis searched through his pockets as he pulled out a sword, a large hammer, a mallet, a staff, his remote, his freeze gun, and a random assortment of things. Finally, he pulled out a pair of iron gauntlets fitted with tech. He slipped them onto Greyman. "Okay, those are my take on Járngreipr. I got the plans from a very nice dwarf. It was a trade for this metal I found. Anyway, it doesn't look like the tech in my magic-tech works, but the magic is kicking. It should give you a nice little boost in your strength."
Greyman nodded as he found it easier to stand.
"Look, the spell isn't that long-range. I'm sure they are looking for us, so we gotta act fast." Alexis grabbed Rufus and held him like a sort of support animal. Rufus didn't fight as he seemed to need it. "There. There."
"Greyman, you need to go to the computer core. Barricade yourself and try to turn everything on." He bent down to look Dendy in the eyes, "Dendy, run to Martha in the medical center, tell her what's happening and barricade yourselves in. If we get everything going, people could start coming in. Make sure to reboot the relays there."
Dendy asked, "What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to get that device. Turn it off."
Greyman looked on, horrified, "You can't."
"I'm the only one who can. You can't walk with those gloves, and they might make you stronger, but your no fighter. I'm not sending Dendy to do it. I got the best chance to get there, and I have a plan."
"What's the plan?"
"Well, half a plan, plus I'm going to make the rest up as I go." He saw their worried looks, "Look, I know, I'm not thinking straight. I-I-I'm trying to stay safe in insanity." He chuckled, "Love that song, love the musical. Heh, I'm our best bet. I still got some magic, if not my tech. This is our best chance." He sighed, "Also, we are running out of time. They will catch up, so we don't have the time to argue. If they find the cube, they can free their friends. If people are hurt, they can't teleport to safety. They can't fall back. So good luck."
Alexis didn't wait and just ran back to the HUB room. The other two split off to their locations.
Halfway to her destination, Dendy realized, "Where's Kirby?"
0000
When it came down to magic, Alexis tried to keep a healthy amount of simple yet useful spells at hand. Something quick to cast with many practical uses was better than one ultra-powerful that took a few minutes to cast. For example, a quick invisibility spell helped him hide in plain sight as the villains just ran past him. A man in a snake suit stopped and licked the air, but he was pulled by another villain and left.
He stopped outside the room and took a deep breath. "Fire, a fire in the dark."
Alexis had a very active mind, it didn't lend itself to mediation, but he did try to learn it just cause it was supposed to help with magic. He never got it to work right, but he did get one trick down. He imagined a single candle in the dark with a small flame, that no matter how dark it was, there was a warmth and light. He never said it, which tended to remind him of someone. It helped steady himself.
"Okay," He whispered, "time for that plan."
WAKANDA
Yeah, stuff wasn't going great in Wakanda. The battle broke out quickly; the Amazo-Brainiacs promptly started to scan and copy everything they could as soon as they could. Attacks began to shot every way.
FRIDAY Spoke to Tony, "Boss, I've lost contact with the compound."
"I hope little boy blue is playing with the device."
Lobo used this opening to slam into Tony and hurl him to the ground, "I bet you were feeling mighty big when you got some backup. Well, how do you feel when I got some of my own."
Lobo moved to try and finish it and get some sweet payback when Power Girl blasted Lobo.
Lobo getting increasingly frustrated, growled, "Kryptonians? Are you even extinct? More of you keep coming out of the woodworks."
Power Girl urged Tony on, "We have to move. If he's like the Lobo in my Universe, blasting him isn't going to slow him down. Czarnians can heal from just about anything."
"Regeneration healing?" Scarlett's voice perked up, and torrents of flames engulfed the bounty hunter. "I've met some like that," Scarlett stepped closer, moving in, "roasting the flesh cauterizing it can screw with that."
"Ha!" Lobo yelled from the flames, "You I like!"
Scarlett flinched and fueled the flames.
Lobo stood up, his flesh melting off but somehow, he stilled grinned.
"Hots Stuff! You and me, what are you doing after this?"
Scarlett wasn't sure if he was asking he out or threatening her. Neither prospect appealed to her. Scarlett reached for the black sword on her hip but stopped herself from pulling it out.
"Move," Power Girl ordered the others.
Tony Flew up, and Power Girl grabbed Scarlett and flew her up. Scarlett blushed at the sudden contact.
Lobo didn't stop them as he waited for his skin to regrow. He just walked out of the flames.
0000
"Doctor!" Lady Noir called out as she and Sakura rushed into the room with the bottled cities.
The Doctor put a finger to her lip.
Sakura tried to explain in a much quieter tone, "They are about to attack the base!"
Missy sighed, "That explains why we couldn't get in touch, here I thought that the shield was cleverer than I gave it credit. Silly me, mustn't second guess myself."
Chain walked through the wall, "Okay, so, it looks like they only have three people there. I'm sure they have some sort of surprise. It's just that kind of day. And a big pulsing machine is what I think we need to stop. Oh!" She raised a tired finger, "An army of robots is attacking everyone outside. And I mean, everyone."
Missy clapped her hands, "Okay, so are we going to spend a minute coming up with a half thought up plan, or are we just going to rush in an attack. I'm up for either one right now."
0000
Gwen got separated from Charmcaster, and worse yet, it looked like one of these robots had copied her powers. She had to avoid the purple blast, and she barely managed to dodge it by jumping behind a large rock.
"Hey," Rocket greeted her.
"Hi," She replied.
"Robot chasing ya?"
"Yeah,"
Rocket readied his gun; he and Gwen nodded before jumping out and firing. The robot formed a purple shield blocking the blasts.
Then a Grenade landed by its feet and exploded. The robot fell forwards as its shield broke apart.
Deadpool walked over, "I'm glad I finally got to use that grenade. "
The robot turned to Deadpool and started to scan it.
"Getaway!" Gwen warned, fearing that if they got his healing factor, it would only make things worse.
The robot seemed to pause as it started to repair itself but stopped dark; almost rusted patches formed over its body.
Deadpool reacted by taking out his swords and slashing through its head.
"Yeah, don't worry," He went to sit by the rock, "they've tried it, they started fritz-ing out when they to start healing. I guess they also got something else from me. They sort of melt. It's easier for me to finish them off before that."
Deadpool decided to wipe away the stuff on his swords. He hadn't even gotten around the removing the pink blood from the dire wraith.
Rocket studied the robot, "Why?"
"Cancer?" Deadpool shrugged, "I had it pretty bad, then a massive tool experimented on me until I healed while dying. I guess they couldn't adjust fast enough. My healing is tied to my cancer now."
Both Gwen and Rocket went quiet when cancer came up.
Rocket looked at the tech, "Okay, so this tech is good but not exactly precise. It makes sense. They're doing everything on the fly. And these things don't got any of your experience. I've seen you spar. You make a bubble around yourself as much as you can."
"Yeah, it's better at keeping me safe when things are happening all around." Gwen explained, "It's harder to get the jump on me."
Rocket tapped on his head, "Yeah, and I bet it takes more energy. But our headless friend here is too logical. It just creates a wall to block out the direct attack and save energy. And not that I want to test it, I bet these blasts have less of a wallop."
"Yeah, and it looks like they can only copy one power at a time." Deadpool noticed, "If I could copy powers, I'd be coming with lasers, flight, telepathy, everything."
Gwen had to agree, her powers could protect her, but a blast of telepathy would have knocked her out.
"Piece of-"Rocket pulled things apart, "This could have been amazing, they could have slaughtered us, but someone just wanted something quick and easy to make."
"Universe is ending," Wade pointed out, "they probably didn't want to waste time on the murder robots as long as they killed everyone." He sighed, "And they will, we're holding them off, but they don't get tired."
"Right, at least they're not smart," Rocket added, "brainless, basic programming someone is giving them commands for anything more complicated."
"I'd say the Brainiac," Power Girl flew down with the others. She motioned to Indigo, surrounded by the other bots. "Sorry, super hearing."
"Find anything," Tony motioned to Rocket.
"Nothing helpful," Rocket admitted, "We got lucky this was a slapdash job."
Scarlett tried to contact Alexis but wasn't getting a message out.
"Yeah, something has happened. FRIDAY can't connect back to the compound. But It looks like someone is trying to talk to us,"
Putting it speaker, Steve's voice rang out. "Can anyone hear me? We have something."
"Well, I have something." Shuri was doing much the same as Rocket and seeing what she could see from the robot they had taken down. Rose had made a bubble around them to give them a few moments to work. But another robot came and turn green and started to strike at it.
"Not sure how long it will last." Rose hissed, trying to reinforce the bubble.
Then a flurry of other voices started to speak up.
Tony smirked, "I do love people already working on the problem."
Shuri stepped up, "Anyone found the synthetic tissue?"
Bruce worked on a robot they had brought down. Kanzaki was keeping fire-breathing robots from attacking them.
"Flesh, it looks like brain matter but stretched out through the whole body. The Human mind has the capability for massive data storage. It can store all the data it must get from scanning us and figuring out our abilities."
"In liquid metal bodies," Shuri marveled at the metal, "very adaptive, sending the right pulses will let it reform to anything it needs to be and work in any process it needs."
"I think the program is adapting," Hiro added; he and Honey Lemon worked together on a robot.
Touma nearby blocked one that had copied Mugino's power, his hand still canceling it out.
Gogo Tamago brought some explosives from the purse, hurled them at the robot, and ran away with Touma before they exploded.
Hiro continued, "It doesn't have a battle program; it's simple, copy and attack."
Honey Lemon added, "Someone else is controlling it, some intelligent system. There is real-time transmission going somewhere. Somewhere close."
"That explains the delays," Mugino spoke up, blasting the head of one of the brainiacs, "6 seconds, more or less. It took six seconds to copy my ability," She was angry and wasn't hiding it, "It takes it another six seconds to change powers, and it doesn't seem to be able to figure out some powers,"
She looked over to where Sogiita was tearing through robots, and some were standing watching him frozen, trying to understand his power. Even in their universe, no one seemed to understand it.
"Limits, a living mind, would a living robot be connected," Klaus spoke up. He and Zed were fighting back to back, "I was fighting the blue woman; parts of her body seemed robotic but growing."
Power Girl Spoke up, "Indigo, or Brainiac 8, she's a techno-organic supercomputer. It makes sense she'd be controlling it."
"I guess she's at her limit," Tony remarked, "breaking down all our abilities and powers must be taking some effort, especially will controlling a whole robot army."
"She's protected," Noelle remarked as she continued to use her water magic against a robot shooting torrents of flames.
Indigo was protected by a single robot, one who was fighting Kakine and had copied his dark matter power. A pale white teenager fought as he duplicated himself over and over again against white robots that duplicate themselves just as much. Kakine managed to absorb many, but the one bot with the power was making copy after copy.
Rocket snarled, "So, we found the broad controlling the army. So, even if we can get through the army of murder bots with powers, we still got to deal with the duplicating army."
Scarlett sighed, "And even if we take her out, the robots might just go on a rampage."
Power Girl added her two cents, "The Indigo I knew was overly analytical. She's a genius but has trouble being creative. Brainiacs always have that issue, the whole species. My cousin hid from one pretending to be his friend Bruce, and it never considered someone could hide in front of him."
Tony smacked his lips, "Not creative thinkers, huh?"
Deadpool laughed, "Oh! I love this! Randomness! She can't deal with something random. Something she can't predict or understand."
Tony pointed at Deadpool, "Look, I love the idea, it shows promise, but I'm not sure what you can do to get to pass-"
"Not me," He motioned to Gwen, "a watch with aliens, a butt load of aliens, we set that to switch every few seconds."
"Constant delays," Tony smiled, "it scans the new form and switches out before they can process. They'll start over."
"Might make the fight easier on the rest off," Shuri bit her lip, "this Indigo would have to turn her focus on her, lets us clean up a little, get some people to help with the duplicating army. Might give us an opening to get her."
"How do we stop a rampaging army from being a thing?" Rhodey added that he was flying in the air with Thor taking down any robot in the air.
"You said species?" Gwen asked Power Girl, "The Omnitrix copies aliens DNA and lets me change into them, with their abilities and everything. I just got to get close enough for it to scan it. It does that automatically."
Power Girl looked at her.
"Where did you get that?" Rocket poked at it.
"Long story," Gwen told him, realizing the screen had been yellow. Gwen pressed on it to try to activate it.
The watch spoke with her voice, "Omnitrix is currently processing 157 DNA samples."
"What?" Gwen asked, shocked.
The screen projected a long DNA strand-like display with hundreds of different silhouettes.
"Where did I get so many?" Gwen did recognize Starro and Mister Mind's form, but she didn't recognize many of them. She noticed an odd one, "Is that an elf?"
"Wait-"Rocket looked at them, "you went with Nebula to Knowhere, right? Did you go into the Collector's place?"
"Yeah, I think so,"
"Ugh, that nut job collected rare aliens species and kept them in display in cases,"
Gwen knew that place a mess, but there had been countless cases there. Some had remains, and it wouldn't take much for viable sample bits of hair, skin, blood. She'd just have to be close. All that was required was for it not in the Omnitrix and for it to be a sapient.
She was starting to have some very nasty feelings about this Collector. She ignored it for now and tried to set it to switch at random. Thank goodness, Master Control.
"Uh, Omnitrix, can you transform me into different aliens every five seconds?"
"Parameters set will begin as soon as the processing of 110 DNA samples is complete. Correction, 111 DNA samples."
"Why did it go up?" Scarlett questioned.
"Miss me?" Lobo jumped before them.
EARTH MHA-714-2
MUSUTAFU, JAPAN
U. A. HIGH SCHOOL
Toga quickly found Momo with her back to her, she did hope to find someone else, but she would do. Toga never liked her mask, or her blood-sucking machine was helpful. The more people she could attack, the more options it gave her to hide. If she attacked enough people, she might be able to cause some confusion.
As she goes to attack, she has to move as a spike of ice forms.
Flames broke through the dust as she knows she's been spotted. Toga falls back before she's caught.
"Shoto!"
"Momo! Are you all right?"
Momo watched Toga slink away, "I am. We should go after her before she gets away. We should stay together, and if we get separated, it could give her another chance to attack. I got separated from Uraraka."
Todoroki nodded in understanding together, and they rush in after her.
Shigaraki was sneaking through the cover and saw a figure and lunged at it. His hands touched it, and the item begins to dissolve, but there were no movements or sounds.
"Wood?"
The ground tore itself apart as tree-like roots jumped out towards him. He barely managed to jump out of the way.
Kamui Woods walked out of the dust along with the hero Ryukyu.
Kamui Woods told him, "You will not get away this time,"
They quickly gave chase, Ryukyu had wanted to use her quirk to blow away the dust, but no having a good look, she could easily hurt someone.

Mr. Compress wriggled the marble with his ally in his hand, a strange comfort. Having it in her replacement arm gave him something to focus his nervous energies on. He prepared to do the same with the device, it had flipped on its side when the building fell apart, and yet it was still working. He touched it with his hand and began to compress it but fell back. There had been a massive pulse back, and he had never felt anything push back on his power. The energy field had to be the cause. It was new territory, and he would need to shut it down even to hope to conceal it. He looked around, hoping to find the control intact. He saw a lot of the equipment shattered, and cables going into what remained of the walls and cemented floors. Soon enough, he found a computer with a cracked screen.
He saw something in the reflection of the screen and barely dodge the rabbit-themed hero.
Mirko smiled as she stared at him, "You're faster than you look,"
"Thank you. I always thought my dexterity was one of my better traits."
Mirko quickly reacted by delivering a kick to the villain, and the villain didn't try to run; instead moved towards it, letting his false arm take the blow. Under his mask, Compress smiled, "Now, you see it," He quickly used his quirk on her, holding out the little marble, "Now you don't."
He quickly dropped the marble into his top hat, "Hah, rabbit in a top hat. There is something about the classics."
"Get ready to die!"
Before he could react, he saw Bakugo rushing at him, using his explosions to propel him.
"Did you change your mind about joining us? We are in need of new members."
He tried to pull the same trick on Bakugo but having already been caught once before; he was prepared not to let it happen again.
When Mister Compress went to swipe him, Bakugo ducked and blasted him back. Knocked to the ground, Compress was stunned for a moment and barely noticed Bakugo picking up a few stray marbles he had dropped. Compress failed to realize the little black marble slipped out of his hand and flew towards the portal. The marble fell in, and after a few seconds, the portal turned black.
Shigaraki and Toga had met up and rushed back.
"We have to go!" Shigaraki yelled,
"You!" Bakugo barked and charged at them but was stopped.
Compress snapped his fingers, and the marble burst back into their items, releasing Mirko and random objects, including a bolder and a kitchen sink. The dust was starting to settle, and the villains saw nearly two dozen heroes coming for them. The three villains stood together, ready to fight their way out.
The portal device shook violently as the portal ripped through it and grew and quickly grew sucked in the villains.
"Move it!" Mirko grabbed Bakugo and carried him away.
The portal grew and grew, and they had no choice but to run, a few of the heroes calling to the others for an immediate evacuation of the school.
0000
Eraser Head had to stay behind with the politicians. The upper brass insisted that he should stay with them; should the League try and get them, his quirk would almost certainly assure their safety. He would rather be with his students to try to disable the league quirks, though some argued if he got into a large brawl, he could accidentally turn off heroes quirks too. He knew that it was one of the reasons why he liked working alone. As dark purple clouds formed in the sky and dark swirling disc formed where the building used to be, he felt a pit in his stomach form.
He ignored all the shouts and ran towards it. Most people were already running from it.
"Run!"
"Move!"
The heroes ran; each and everyone had run and gotten a good distance from the disc but stopped and ordered the civilians to flee.
Ochaco sighed, she was scared no one with sense wouldn't be, but she had a plan. It wasn't a good plan, and she didn't know if it would work. It was based upon something Hatsume told her. She had endlessly explained that the device operated by warping space and manipulating gravitational forces. Well, her power was based on gravity. She took a breath and ran back towards the disc.
"Uraraka!" Ida yelled out to her.
"Ochaco!" Jiro called to her.
"What the hell are you doing, round face?!" Even Bakugo tried in his way.
The kid quickly gave chase after her. Some of the heroes did, too, only telling the other to run back just in case.
Ochaco put her hands together and slammed down on the growing disc, and it stopped.
"Aaaah!" Ochaco screamed as she felt a force ripping through her body as she tried to hold back something that she shouldn't. Pink sparks shot of her body as One for All helped her against her struggle.
The disc slowly started back up.
"What did you do?" Midnight asked, trying to sound calm.
"Gravity!" Ochaco let out, "Hat-sume said gravity was-" she huffed, "helped control it."
Momo added, "And you can cancel out gravity."
It was vastly more complicated because the portal interacted and was manipulated by several forces, and she had just managed to screech one to halt. She had, in essence, shoved a stick in the gears of a large clock. One gear stops the others, but they were moving, and soon that stick would break.
Ochaco knew she couldn't hold it. "Run! Just run! I couldn't save Deku! I couldn't save Hatsume! I can at least save you! RUN!"
They all saw how sincere she was, and they could see that she had already pushed herself beyond her limits just to buy them time.
The heroes all went out trying to come up with a plan to save everyone.
"Is Thirteen around? Maybe they can do something? Cancel out or-"
"If we can get the scientist back here, maybe they can figure something out."
"Everyone who isn't needed here leaves! Now!"
"Only the Bare minimum!"
"I'm not leaving my friend!"
"We have to think this through."
"Ochaco, we aren't leaving you behind. I'm not in the mood to lose another friend."
"We evacuate. I'll stay with her and fly out as fast as I can. It's our best shot to save everyone."
"Run." Ochaco tried to warn them again as she lost control.
There was a massive burst of force, and Ochaco was the first to get pulled in. Even as she was pulled in, she tried to reign it in again. She screamed as she felt the forces tearing her apart.
The disc grew rapidly, pulling more of the heroes in. Some tried to run, and some even managed to get away from the disc. Then the disc turned into a bubble and began to grow faster.
Bubbles upon bubbles started to form on the structure, breaking down everything they touched and consuming it.
Eraser Head just managed to reach them as the bubble grew. People fled as he and others were absorbed into the bubbles.
Some of the reporters outside got footage of the bubble growing faster and faster, eventually consuming the whole school. A bastion of hope for the future was consumed in less than a minute. This force continued to grow and move faster. Then the bubble reached them.
The report got out, but it didn't in the grand scheme of things.
In less than an hour, the world was consumed.
AVENGER'S COMPOUND
Greyman hurried as fast as he could. He needed to reach the computer core to get everything back online, well, if things went right. Still, he had to admit it was nice to get back in the field and into the action.
"Looky looky, a little gray alien."
Greyman turned around to find a pale woman with white hair and black clothes. Magpie smiled as she looked at him oddly, staring specifically at the gauntlets. "Has a shiny."
"Shiny is good, but we have work to do,"
A man in garish pattern clothing swayed as he walked forward, a pale mask sat on his face, then his flipped 180 degrees upside down. "
Rag Doll's voice was like an empty whisper, "We need to stop him,"
"Fine, I get to keep the shiny,"
Greyman instantly regretted going back to the field.

"Come on, frog girl!" The snake-themed Copper Head taunted.
Dendy knew she had to run, but she tried to find Kirby first, and she got spotted. She could fight if she had to, but her hack pack was offline now, and she had to warn Martha. Lucky as a Kappa, she could jump very high. As soon as Dendy could, she jumped onto the next level.
The snake acted more like a lizard climbed the walls towards her while the others kept chasing.
Dendy ran down the hall towards the Medical Center and almost stopped as she noticed Sapphire hovering in the air. As soon as Dendy passed her, Sapphire pressed her hand against the wall. The temperature grew cold, and suddenly, walls and floors were covered with ice, and Copperhead was half frozen to a wall.
Dendy was stunned by the action before Martha pulled her in, and Sapphire quickly followed.
Martha quickly pushed a bed to block the entrance as Sapphire began to explain, "I had a vision right after the power went out.
"It would have been much more of help if we got it before the power went off," Martha pointed out, shoving some equipment to the door.
Sapphire continued as Dendy went to help Martha. "I saw that you were coming, and they were chasing you. I also saw more would come, just not sure who," They moved from the barricade, and Sapphire created a sheet of ice over it.
Then they heard something like a gorilla collide with the door.

The large purple and fin-headed three-eyed alien Despero walked down the hall, annoyed that he had not found anyone. He trusted Luthor enough that holding him back for the final fight was an intelligent battle strategy. Fighting the warrior of this world at their weakest ensured their victory. Still, nothing had happened.
As he turned a corner, he ran into Mongal, a tall buff-yellow alien with dark red hair. "I found nothing,"
"Neither have I. Let's regroup with the others."
As they walked, the hall turned icy cold, and soon they found two villains frozen in ice, the Icicle and Snow Flame.
They looked on confused.
"Did they fight each other?" Mongal asked.
"Poyo!" Kirby hiccuped as his blue skin turned pink again.
Kirby woke up a little dizzy and then tried to run after his friend but got lost. Then two loud and men guys found him and tried to attack him, and he beat them.
Well, that was as much as Despero could pull from his mind with his telepathy.
"What?" Despero asked, confused.
Mongal just decided to step on the creature before her. She pressed on it expecting to hear a splat. Instead, she found herself hurled into the ceiling.
"Po?"
Despero's third eye began to glow.

Alexis walked into the room, "Hello,"
Sivana pulled out a high-tech blaster.
Next to him to Cheshire, a woman in green clothes and wearing a white cat-like mask pulled out a sword.
"You don't need to do anything. I'm just so tired right now. I don't think I got another fight in me,"
Cheshire held her blade, she was good at reading people, and the man before her seemed tired in every sense of the word. His eyes seemed almost empty, almost waiting for something.
Alexis breathed out, "I'm guessing your blast is immune to the whole tech blackout,"
Sivana simply replied, "Yes, well, it would be foolish if I made a device that de-powered out devices too."
"Makes sense; you are going to do anything about the portal?"
"Nothing has come in. As much as I would like to study the device, I doubt it would be safe while it maintains a portal."
"Well, as much as it can with its controls offline."
Cheshire got this conversation on a different line, "Why have you come? Have you come to surrender?"
"Wish I could, I really do. I wish I could just lay down and rest. I wish I could leave this to someone else. The world isn't fair. The world is fragile. It's about to break, and I gotta help keep it together. Well, at least until we're all dead."
Like he was doing a magic trick, an explosive appeared in his hand, with a timer ticking down. "Catch!" He tossed it towards Cheshire.
Time slowed down to the assassin. She instinctually went to catch the explosive mere inches from her hand. She saw the timer count 2 to 1, and then the timer hit 0.
WAKANDA
Lobo confronted the heroes. Scarlett had the undeniable and all too familiar feeling that Alexis was doing something stupid.
A fight would start there had a voice not spoke through the comm system in the TDS.
"Lobo, kill the red-haired female," Indigo ordered.
"What?" Gwen shouted.
"I am controlling an army. Did you think I wouldn't also hack into your communication system to hear your plans? The only reason I'm even speaking is because Lobo is there."
"Uh," Lobo grunted, "which redhead?"
Scarlett and Gwen glanced at each other.
"The one with the device they call the Omnitrix."
Tony is the first to react, shooting a blast from his arc reactor striking Lobo. "Get out of here!"
Scarlett and Rocket begin to blast away to stall.
"You heard the Iron Man!" Deadpool pulled out his sword before turning to the alien, "Let's see who heals faster."
Power Girl didn't waste another moment grabbing Gwen and flying her away.
Lobo ran through the blast and kicked Rocket away, grabbing his gun and firing it at Iron Man. "Oh! This is nice!"
Deadpool rushed in and sliced off his hands, "Relax! I've disarmed him. Heh, wow, that was bad. I'm sorry, I apologize for that."
"You have no idea," Lobo grinned.
The last few attacks had cauterized or burned any tiny traces of Lobo before they could stabilize, this time not so much. Blood and those arms began to grow into new Lobos.
Deadpool winced, "Okay, your healing factor might be a bit better."
The group suddenly found themselves surrounded by the new clones of Lobo. They didn't look the same; some were smaller, some were a bit deformed, and none radiated with the original strength.
But, none of them would go down easy.
Author's Notes: So first off this chapter was supposed start the wrap up but things but things were getting longer. I did think of removing some stuff, like how everyone worked from various locations to figured out the bots. Like, its shows everyone coming together to solve the issue.
Anyway, if things go well, two more chapters to finish this arc. Maybe a wrap up mixed in with a breather episode. Next chapter should be up soon, since I wrote it with this one. The tittle would have made so much more sense with the ending I had planned. But too long.
Can we give it to Ochaco for pulling a Steve Roger's and jumping on the grenade, except a much slower and terrifying grenade and people refused to leave so… what was my point? Yeah, that world is gone.
I had planned to bring Mongul but the movie trailer came out so why not make it the daughter since she's in it.
Anyway, so you guys leave a review telling me what you guys think.
Q&A:
Kingmanaena: It takes time to hopefully soon.
Raxius: I could, not sure why I would though.
themaninthemirror2000: Kirby will get his own thing soon. I'm not sure if I could do one that focuses solely on him since he doesn't say anything besides poyo, he'd need someone to work off. I can't say the next arc, I got a couple ideas from what people have been requesting and I kinda want to do something simplier and easier to tell for a bit.
Guest 01:
1: Well, I think for the most this chapter solves most of your question. Mostly.
, it is a long arc. Its just I wanted to show case everyone to some extent. Show them coming together to fight. I won't be doing that again. Maybe at the end. But yeah, the threat was one that would have to be dealt across the universe and eveyrthing. It just felt, yeah, this is what would happen.
Yeah, it does feel like someone in story will start to figure out something is SUS about Infinity and those orbs soon.
3. That's a very astute observation.
4. Kirby will get to show off his stuff next chapter. I have it written up, its happening. Alexis isn't well, like yeah, he's got tendencies to put himself in danger and this whole situation is making it worse. Usually, there someone whose understands that who stops him. The problem with that is that he makes a good aurgument that they have to do this. He's trying to keep his head above water, but its harder when the people you rely to help is suddenly gone.
5. Well we will see. I have said it before I do want people to see this as something going on in every universe, every fiction and I certainly can't touch on all of them. But, if I can and feel inspired I might try to give you peeks. I like doing fun stuff. Maybe put some feelers out to see if people would be interested in seeing some of these because of they could show up and do this but would people care to see them.
I'd suggest reading dresden, I just remembered it from reading this weird stragate dresden fanfic I stumbled upon. I made a quick refrence to him during Missy/Alexis jumps and decided to touch upon that. Like yeah people noticed them.
Anyway, yeah, its just I don't see Cave being all that helpful. He'd probably see people fixing it and just tell people he did it and accept the money and good will. Maybe send them equipment if he thinks it would help but mostly to save his butt in the end.
