Braxton House
"Could you have driven any slower?" Brax complains to Heath before jumping out of the car and running up the drive. "Ricky?" He shouts out, hearing her crying in the house, seeing her with Irene, Leah and Bianca.
"Where've you been? I called you hours ago!" Ricky shouts.
"It was a long drive as it was and we left as soon as you called." Brax says as Heath walks in.
"Where's the boys?" Bianca asks, both her and Irene having run out of ideas to calm Ricky down, and it was just the two eldest brothers there.
"They went in Tyler's car. We didn't want them speeding home as well." Heath says. "Lucas text Brax not long ago saying they weren't far away. Should we wait for them?"
"We don't have time to wait!" Ricky glares.
"Ricky, just tell me what's happened." Brax says, walking over to her.
"The church has cancelled on us three days before the wedding and so has the registrar!" Ricky shouts. "I've been calling around other places to try and find something new in time and nowhere can do anything this soon!"
"I'm sure there's somewhere." Brax says, pulling her into a hug.
"There isn't, we've also tried places. There's nowhere that will take over this close to the wedding date." Bianca says.
"So what happens now?" Heath asks. "We can't have a wedding without a venue or registrar."
"We'll call everywhere again." Brax says.
"There's no point, this wedding is ruined!" Ricky cries, running out of the door.
"Ricky!" Brax sighs, running after her.
"We have to do something." Heath says.
"The church was Ricky's dream venue. She wanted her wedding there since before Brax even proposed to her." Bianca says.
"Well did they give a reason as to why they're cancelling three days before the wedding and not last week?" Heath asks, not understanding why something like this would happen.
"Apparently they're now double booked after accepting a new couple, and this couple offered four times the price of Brax and Ricky, so they accepted it and gave Ricky a refund. This couple also did the same with the celebrant." Leah says.
"That's so wrong! Brax and Ricky booked first, they should have turned this couple down!" Heath moans. "We have to think of something else, something that they will be happy with. Did Ricky say anything about what she would prefer?"
"She wanted a church wedding, but there's none available this late. We even tried places that were way too out of budget and they weren't available either." Irene says.
"I've got an idea that might just work, and it would definitely be available for three days time." Leah says as she thinks to herself.
"What's that?" Bianca asks.
"Why don't they have a beach wedding? We can have it all set up in time with help of other people, and it wouldn't be too hard changing details with things already booked for the church." Leah says. "It's not the church wedding Ricky wanted, but I think we can pull it off in time."
"That could work." Heath mutters. "I'll rope the boys in and I'm sure we can get everything done in time for the big day."
The Pier Diner
"We've got three days to get this perfect, so everyone has to do their best. Oh, and it also needs to be a secret from Brax and Ricky. Kyle and Heath are looking for them now to tell them we're sorting it, so we just need everyone to try and keep this quiet." Bianca says after they were able to recruit a lot of the Bay to help.
"I'll call around for another registrar who'll consider taking on a booking this late." Casey says as he stands up.
"Let us know the second you do." Bianca says, Casey nodding as he walks out.
"I'll call the photographer and florist to let them know of the changes." Lucas says. "Is there anyone else I should call while I'm at it?"
"The cake maker. She'll still think she's got to take it to the church. Oh and the bridal car company will need to know of the change of destination." Bianca says. "The phone numbers are in this diary." She says, taking it from her bag and handing it to him.
"Okay." Lucas says, heading outside to do it.
"Should I call the other guests that might not know of the change?" Tyler asks.
"Yes, that would be great. There's quite a few that don't know. Denny, could you help Tyler please?" Bianca asks.
"Oh uh… Sure." Denny mutters, briefly glancing at him before looking back at her. "Where can we find the guest list?"
"It's in the diary I gave to Lucas." Bianca says as they both walk out.
"What about the rest of us?" Emily asks.
"We need to make the perfect venue on the beach. So a seating plan, decorations, uh…" Bianca trails off, having come to a complete mind blank after trying to think of other things that needed to be changed.
"We'd need to find a nice marquee to give some shade." Leah says.
"We might have one lying around somewhere, we could decorate that." Roo says, looking over at Alf.
"Yeah, it's a good size and is easy to set up." Alf nods.
"What about the tourists?" Emily asks. "It's still quite busy around with them all."
"I can cordon a good area of the beach off for the day to avoid unwanted guests." John says. "I can keep a few lifeguards on duty to make sure no one crosses the cordon."
"Okay." Emily nods.
"What about chairs for the guests?" Marilyn asks.
"There's the ones from Angelo's." Emily says. "They were moving quite a few out to make room for the after party in Angelo's. I'm sure Brax wouldn't mind if we used them. I can go and ask Kyle to make sure it's certain."
"That would be great." Bianca nods as Casey walks back in.
"I've found a registrar who is fine with stepping in. She also said there would be no extra fee due to the time frame and she worked out cheaper than the other one, so that's more money towards getting the beach ready if needed." Casey informs.
"That's great news!" Bianca sighs with relief. "How's Lucas getting on?"
"The cake maker, bridal car and photographer are all okay with the change. He's currently on the phone to the florist, who's being difficult but he's not taking no for an answer." Casey says. "What's going on in here so far?"
"We're finding jobs for people to help with the set up for the beach. Emily was just on her way to go and check about the seating with Kyle." Bianca says as Emily leaves.
"Okay. What else needs to be planned?" Casey asks.
"I can organise an aisle for Ricky to walk down. It can't be too hard finding something gorgeous." Marilyn says.
"Why don't we go and start getting things sorted and if we think of more, we can do it as we go?" Leah suggests.
"Okay, let's do that." Bianca nods. "If anyone has any problems, come to me."
"Or me." Casey says before everyone walks out to start preparing the new venue.
"Casey, I'm the maid of honour, I need to do this." Bianca says.
"You are pregnant with my niece or nephew, and I'm the youngest brother of the groom. Accept the help because you're going to get it either way. But to be fair to you, you've done a great job getting so much done in so little time and I have a feeling Brax and Ricky are going to be so happy when they see their new venue." Casey says as his phone rings, seeing it was Kyle he answered. "Okay, see you soon."
"Oh no!" Bianca mutters.
"What?" Casey frowns.
"How are we meant to set all of this up without them seeing or even catching on to the idea?" Bianca asks.
"Already sorted. Kyle rang to tell me that they've convinced Brax and Ricky to stay away until their wedding. They're going to stay with mum and she has agreed to keep them away from the Bay." Casey says. "They know we're sorting a new venue, they just don't know what and have agreed to let us take over this bit."
"Okay, that makes it easier to set things up in time." Bianca says. "I need to check on the boys and Denny outside." She says, walking out with him. "How are things?" She asks them.
"It was hard but the florist has agreed to the new venue so that's all good." Lucas says. "I've been helping with the guest list and we've finished the list. Everyone was fine with the change as well."
"Denny got through a lot of the list, she's got a good way with words." Tyler says.
"Thanks." Denny mutters, standing up to hug Casey.
"You good?" Casey asks, sensing the tension between them both still.
"I'm fine, we should go and help out the others." Denny says, grabbing his hand as they walk away.
