As I Have You
..As her father placed her hand on his hand for 'Kanyadan' ritual a drop of tear rolled down from her right eye.
All the waiting she had done to get a partner according to her will, all the patient she showed to cope up with this introvert not so open up arrogant and work holic man finally had its result. All her waiting had been answered. There's time when she had given up the thought to settle down in her life, there was time when she thought of running away from him, there was time when everything seemed too much for her but today when she had him, that too officially and completely she felt her every pain worth of it. She felt her waiting worth of every pain.
She's not an emotional person always and she never thought she would cry on her wedding day. Years of living alone and then getting married with the man of her life, what's there to cry. But as the tear drop made its way down her cheek she felt contempted in a blissful manner. She felt worth crying.
Rest of the evening passed by with her in that trance. In between her husband did ask her a few times if she's okay, why she was so quiet. She just shook her head. She wanted to hold the moments forever. She wanted to feel it. She wanted to believe that it wasn't a dream. Words could have ruined her feelings. So, she stayed quiet.
And when after all the rituals she was waiting for her husband in their bridely decorated room, sitting at the corner of the bed her emotions overflowed. As soon as her husband got into the room and close the door behind him she ran into his arms.
And he wrapped his arms around her delicate figure. Due to her sudden hug he was bumped againt the closed door but it didn't take time for the smile to appear on his face. His one hand was on her head and other was wrapped around her waist. He could hear her sobbing. For some reason he knew her tears were of happiness and not for leaving her parent's house.
"I do admit I wasn't hoping to see my wife blushing behind the veil but neither did I expect this." He joked as he kissed her hair from above the chunri she was wearing.
She didn't respond for a while. And her husband was patient too. He had always been. After a few moments she composed herself to talk.
"I can lead my whole life like this Abhijeet." She said with a deep, meaningful voice.
"Me too, Tarika." His voice was even deeper. His grips got strong around her, as if protecting her from everything she was fearing fearing to face.
