Chapter 70 – The Surprise
The moment they were arriving at the stair of the Jedi Temple, Ines made Luke stopped and stood in front of him.
"Why are you standing in front of me?" Luke asked, adjusting their baby on his arms, that was in a deep sleep, grabbing a piece of fabric of his father's shirt, like didn't want to let him go.
Ines took a deep breath and looked at Luke, a little nervously.
"Because you need to know that I did a little bit more than make the training and class rooms."
"What did you do babe?" Luke asked
"Well I did some research, and I found out the old Jedi Masters, who they were and their names. And I had an idea. How about we payed a tribute to the old Jedi Masters that were part of the Jedi Council, since many of them were killed by the Emperor's order. So I found an amazing artist who made every single busts of them and I decided to spread inside the Jedi Temple"
Luke gasped when he heard Ines telling him her idea. He never thought about it and looking at Ines, a big smiled appeared on his face.
"Ines, my love, my wife, my life, each day I know for sure I did the right thing to let you take care of the Temple, because that is the most brilliant idea that I never thought of that."
"You liked it" Ines smiled
"Babe I loved it. That is a beautiful tribute for those members who fought for the peace of the Galaxy" he said and leaning forward he kissed her, making sure to not wake up their little Ben, who wimp in his sleep, making Luke and Ines smiling at him. Being away from him for a month, he didn't want to let go his baby so soon.
"There are at least 3 faces we know and because they meant so much to us and especially to you, they are at the entrance of the Temple, even if one of them was not Master." she said and started to climb the stairs of the temple, followed by Luke.
Once he entered inside on each other end of the entrance were the busts of Master Yoda and Obi Wan Kenobi
"As you see each bust has their name below so everyone knows their names."
Luke smiled when he saw the faces of his two old masters and Ines knew he missed them. Pressing the button of Master Yoda he read: "Yoda was the Grand Jedi Master and the most senior Jedi. Already over 850 years old, Yoda was one of the few Jedi that survived Order 66. Together with Obi-Wan Kenobi, he taught Luke Skywalker the ways of the Force many decades after Luke's father first set foot in the Council chamber."
"I think people need to know who were the two Jedi Masters who taught you the ways of the Force. Press the Obi-Wan button" Ines asked him. Luke did that and read: "A legendary Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a noble man and gifted in the ways of the Force. He trained Anakin Skywalker, served as a general in the Republic Army during the Clone Wars, and guided Luke Skywalker as a mentor."
Luke smile remembering Ben and look at his son who was name after him.
"And this is your father's" Ines stopped in front of the bust of your guy that Luke recognize right away: Anakin Skywalker. Pressing the button he read: "Discovered as a slave on Tatooine by Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker had the potential to become one of the most powerful Jedi ever, and was believed by some to be the prophesied Chosen One who would bring balance to the Force. A hero of the Clone Wars, Anakin was caring and compassionate."
"I decided to bring the qualities that your father had"
"This is amazing babe" Luke said with a big smile on his face.
"I decided to put the busts each side of the long corridor, so everyone who entered can see them and read their names. And if you press this button, tells who they were, to get more info about them with a holo figure of them too"
"That is genius. I married a genius" he smiled.
Stopping in front to an another bust, Luke read the name on it: Mace Windu
"This is Mace Windu, one of the oldest member to the Council" Ines said and pressing the button Luke read: "Mace Windu was the most senior Jedi Master after Yoda and was concerned by the possible return of the Sith. Master Windu was one of the leading Generals during the Clone Wars until he was killed by Darth Sidious"
"Killed by Palpatine" Luke sighed and walked to the next one and read "Plo Koon"
"Yes. Another victim of the Order 66" Ines said and pressing the button Luke read: "was a Kel Dor from Dorin, forced to wear a breath mask and goggles in certain atmospheres. Plo Koon found Ahsoka Tano and became one the leading Generals during the Clone Wars until he was shot down on Cato Neimoidia during Order 66"
"Who is Ahsoka Tano?" Luke asked
"I don't know. I found out she was one of you father's Padawan. I believe she is still alive cause I didn't found anything about her death. Some Jedi did survived the purge, so I believe she is out there." Ines told him, making Luke nod.
Continue to walk down the corridor Luke was seeing the busts of every Jedi and pressing the buttons, reading about the Jedi that he didn't knew:
"Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Cerean from Cerea with a binary brain who reacted with skepticism when Qui-Gon told the Council that the Sith may have returned. He was a respected Jedi General during the Clone Wars, but was betrayed and killed on Mygeeto by Commander Bacara and the 21st Nova Corps"
"Saesee Tiin was an Iktotchi and a brilliant starfighter pilot. This austere Master was killed by Darth Sidious when the Jedi have discovered that Sheev Palpatine was the secret Sith Lord."
"The quiet Yaddle was a member of the same mysterious species as the revered Jedi Master Yoda. By the time of the Clone Wars, she was no longer on the Council."
"Even Piell was small in stature, but not in courage. Together with Wilhuff Tarkin, he was locked up in the Citadel on Lola Sayu during the Clone Wars. Piell didn't survive the rescue mission."
"Oppo Rancisis was a snakelike Thisspiasian and a tactical mastermind. He was born in 206 BBY and once was the Padawan of Yaddle."
"Adi Gallia was a female humanlike Tholothian and also an excellent pilot. In the Clone Wars she helped to rescue Master Eeth Koth from General Grievous."
"Yarael Poof was a tall Quermian and the Master of the Ithorian Roron Corobb. He was known for gently waving his neck during Council sessions."
"Eeth Koth was captured by Grievous during the Clone Wars, but was rescued by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Adi Gallia."
"Depa Billaba was a female Chalactan. She was the Master of Padawan Caleb Dume, who took the name Kanan Jarrus after he survived Order 66."
After reading and seeing the info, Ines took Luke to the other part of the corridor.
"Those were the masters during the invasion of Naboo. And this side was during the Clone Wars. Your father, Obi Wan and other Master were part in the Council during that time" Ines explain to Luke and he got closer to the first bust and just like he did to the other busts he pressed the buttons of each one:
"Shaak Ti was a wise and patient Jedi Master, fought at the Battle of Geonosis, and supervised the training of clone cadets on Kamino. There, she struggled to balance the necessity of producing capable troopers with compassion for the clones as living beings. Ti helped defend Kamino against Separatist attack, balancing assignments in the field with her duties on the Jedi Council."
"Kit Fisto, a Nautolan from Glee Anselm, was a respected General in the Clone Wars who participated in many battles. Fisto died when he confronted Darth Sidious at the end of the Clone Wars."
"Agen Kolar was another Zabrak Master and the third member of the Council who joined Mace Windu to arrest Palpatine. This didn't go as planned and Kolar was killed right away."
"Stass Allie was a Tholothian, killed by Commander Neyo on Saleucami during Order 66"
"Coleman Trebor was a Vurk Jedi Master who served as a member of the Jedi High Council prior to the Clone Wars. He was killed by Jango Fett while trying to engage Count Dooku during the First Battle of Geonosis."
Luke looked at Ines:
"Jango Fett?"
"Boba Fett's father. Or donor if you want?"
Luke looked at his wife
"Donor?"
"Jango Fett was the donor, of all the clones made in Kamino. Apparently he ask for one clone without any alteration and raised him as his son. Guess the name of that clone?"
"Boba Fett"
"Exactly"
Luke couldn't believe it.
"I loved this idea. Babe you did a great job. Now I can't wait for the rooms" Luke smiled.
"Well, come" Ines said and they entered the first room.
Luke walked and gasped seeing all the combat weapons on the walls.
"This is the combat room. As you see there is all the weapons to combat."
Luke nod and looked at Ines
"I love it. I imagine the kids training here"
Ines smiled.
"Then let's see the other room", and leaving the combat room, Ines lead Luke to the next room
"This is the basic training room. As you see there is many training droids and helmets, where the kids can training with their lightsabers. Just like someone I know back in the Falcon" she said looking at her husband
"I love it."
"Want to try it?" Ines asked and Luke handle their baby boy who was still sleeping and entered the room, he grabbed one of the helmets and pick up not one but two training droids. Putting the helmet and grabbing his lightsaber, Luke got focus and unlike the first time, he block two zapping from the droid behind him by passing his lightsaber behind his back and blocked more three zapping from the droid in front of him.
Taking off the helmet he smiled at Ines
"Show off" she laughed
Putting back the helmet and droids away he walked towards her.
"Well I'm not that boy you met 5 years ago"
"That I know for sure" she smiled back as he kissed her. "Now I really hope you like the next room because that it will blow your mind and it is my favorite"
Luke frown and followed Ines.
Once they reach the third room, Luke stopped since there was a glass door.
"Why this has a door?"
"Well I found this advance technology. So I was able to find the most genius guys and in this room you can train like you were in the place yourself. And it has many levels: easy level has these droids called battle droids that are easy to destroyed. Middle Level has B2-series super battle droids that are a little more difficult to destroyed and Hard Level as these dark troopers. I didn't put stormtroopers because no matter what, they are humans underneath the suit. Also you can choose the location: Naboo, Geonosis, Yavin, Hoth and Endor"
"Are you kidding?"
"No. You entered, get in the circle in the end and press the number of level and place you want your battle to be. The room gets dark and the droids are in type of hologram that when they are destroyed they disappear"
"I have to try" Luke said and entering inside the room. Getting in the circle he choose the hard level and Endor. Once he did that a light scanner him and the walls changed and appeared the big trees on Endor. It was like he was there. Then some dark troopers appeared and grabbing his lightsaber Luke started to block the blasters from them. As one got closer he block the blaster and cut the head of the trooper. The moment he did that, the trooper disappear in tiny blue dots. He continue to battle the droids until the last one was vanish. When the last droid was destroyed, the room light up again and the view from Endor were replace by the normal walls of the Temple. Getting out of the room, Luke looked at Ines and a smile appeared on his face.
"I Love this room. It is way for the kids training before put them in a real mission. Babe you are amazing. How did you think of all of this I can't imagine. I love you"
Ines smiled at that.
"Well there is still one last room. The class room" she said and they went to the last room of the Temple.
Once they entered, Luke gasped at the walls. There were paintings of Battle of Yavin, with his Red 5 in one of the walls and his image in this Pilot Suit, then there were the Hoth battle with the At-AT and speeders flying in their directions, and then the Battle of Endor, where many Ewoks and the Squad were fighting AT-ST's. And on the other wall was him fight his father with the Emperor sitting on his throne and Ines tight to the chair, while the next wall there was the death star in the background with the Falcon and Rebellion fighting the Tie Fighters.
"Wow. Those are amazing."
"I thought to put paintings that show the story of the fall of the Empire, with the most important Battles: Yavin, Hoth and Endor"
"I love it." Luke said watching the one inside the Death Star scene.
"I had to put that scene cause it is important. After all only the two of us know what happened there" Ines said getting closer to him, making Luke wrapped his right arm around her shoulder.
"There are 5 people in this painting." Luke said smiling to her and they looked to their baby who was still asleep. Taking him from Ines arms, he put the baby on his chest, make him whimp and pout as he drop the pacifier. "You were in this painting too sweetie. You were inside your mother" he said kissing the top of his head, as the baby opened his little eyes that started to show a glimpse of blue, indicating he would have his father's blue eyes but closed them again resting his head on his father's chest, making Luke smile. He loved his boy so much.
"Wow kid, what a room" they heard behind them and smiled when saw Han, Chewie and Leia
"I told you were loving it" Leia smiled
"Kid you did a great job" Han said
"Yes she did. I'm so proud of her and so lucky to have you as my wife" Luke said. "And later I will reward you like you never imagine" he winked at her making her laugh.
He was really proud of her. Now he couldn't wait for the students to arrive and start training them.
