73. Chapter 73

Day 2 - 10:00 PM

Takashi had just returned to the Western lands. He had visited all the clans and had gotten confirmation of their arrival within the week. The latest to arrive would be the East since the princess had become ill. That being said, they would still try to arrive before the week was over.

He entered the castle and made his way to the gardens, knowing that InuKimi preferred to tend to the roses rather than keep to her rooms.

He walked into the gardens just as she was leaving them.

"Takashi, I take it everything is set?" She asked.

"Yes, Milady." Takashi bowed.

"Good, inform the staff of the upcoming changes. Your men are also to keep guard during the entire duration of the clan's visits." She said as she walked away with Takashi closely behind.

"Yes, Milady." He replied again.

"By the way, where is Sesshoumaru, he should be here by now." She asked. The question was asked innocently enough, but he knew better. He could almost hear her silent questions. 'Where was he, what was he doing, and who was he with.' There was not a chance in hell that he would be the one to tell her.

"It took me a while to locate him, I assume he is on his way.' He replied instead. He couldn't lie to her so instead he gave her a little half truth.

InuKimi's eyes narrowed but she continued walking. "Very well then. I shall wait for him."

Takashi bowed again before being dismissed by a flick of her fan.

'You so owe me one Sesshoumaru.' He thought as he walked away. He was not even sure how to process what he had seen. He had been Sesshoumaru's General for more than 400 years and his friend for even longer. Not once had he ever seen him so expressive, nor had he ever considered that he would fall to the same snare his father did. Lying with a human.

Takashi had nothing against humans, but Sesshoumaru did. So what exactly did this all mean? 'I think I am starting to get a headache.' He thought. Having never suffered one before he was not sure, but with the way his head felt like exploding, this had to be it.

'Well, InuKimi can wait if she wants, I am going to sleep.' He declared as he made his way to his rooms.
