74. Chapter 74

Day 2 - 8:55 PM

The blue light faded and Kagome landed safely back in her time. The loss of his constant youki made her shiver. She climbed the ladder and made her way back towards the shrine. She noticed that the lights were still off, meaning no one was home yet. She thanked her lucky stars.

'I don't think I could have a proper conversation with anyone right now.' She thought.

Quickly finding the key hidden under a rock she unlocked the door and made a beeline to her bedroom. Locking the door behind her she tried to gather her thoughts.

'He said he would be back for me. He still wants to see me.' She thought over and over again.

'I can't do this to Inuyasha, to my friends…I can't live a lie, and I refuse to be hidden.' She argued against herself. 'Agreeing to going with him is as good as admitting that I am only good for one thing.' She continued.

For every negative thought that popped into her head though, the simple thought of being alone with Sesshoumaru again made them go away. It was not just his body or his touch, it was the way he opened up when he was with her. Sure he didn't exactly talk up a storm, but she had been privy to his emotions, and his warmth, and his laughter. She wanted more of that.

Sighing in defeat she decided a soak in the tub was in order. Removing her coat and hanging it on a hanger she proceeded to the bathroom. She set the tub to fill and removed her clothes, setting it aside to wash later herlself. She stood naked in the bathroom, staring at herself in the mirror, amazed at all the tiny little marks that marred her body. Each one a kiss or nibble from him.

She blushed but she couldn't take her eyes off herself. Aside from the many little marks, there was nothing else to suggest that she was no longer a virgin. 'I don't even think I bled..' She thought. She remembered pain and his soothing words, but she did not remember having to clean up any blood.

The thought of Sesshoumaru's kind gestures brought a smile to her face. Giving herself one last glance, she washed herself off and stepped into the warm bath, letting her memories keep her company in the small, steam filled room.

A/N: Coming up next - Sesshoumaru and his mother reunite! What will he say when he realizes the only reason he came back was because she wanted to throw other women at him?
