Chapter 74: Space Explanation
Continuing from just now, "What just happened to her?" Webby asked as Penumbra groaned a bit. "Once you recover, yer got a lot to explain on why you're wrecked." Scrooge began. "Time is short so I will explain now but first, I will tell you some history. It happened long before Della crashed onto our moon." Penumbra then began.
"Many years ago, we were at war. War against the Martians. Our people clashed for one purpose. To prove their superiority to each other. It went on for some time until new rulers came to the throne and called for a ceasefire."
"Whoa...Martians? They exist?!" Huey asked. "Yes they do Red Della." Penumbra replied as she continued on. "The leaders, General Meridian of the moon and General Typhon of Mars assumed leadership and the first thing they did is call for a ceasefire. On Mars, they signed a treaty that our people will co-exist in neutral terms never to wage war against each other. I was a young moonlander back then when I witnessed the treaty being signed."
"Okay...Penny...what does your story have to do with your injuries?" Della asked. "Because the Martians have broken the treaty and amassed an invasion force in orbit near our homes!" Penumbra revealed. "Hmmm...it seems something is going up in space." said Beakly. "Tell us what happened on the moon."
"Very well. Adapting to earth culture has made our time fruitful. This year, I came up with plans to build portals. One on Earth and the other on the Moon to establish a gateway to link our homes." Penumbra explained. "Wow! It's like you wanted to show us your gratitude by inviting us to the Moon!" said Huey. "Indeed Red Della. My plan was to give you earthlings a taste of our Moon culture but as we were near completion, Martian Spaceships and Cruisers emerged by surprise and then, they invaded the moon. My people fought back to help me escape and deliver the news to you personally."
"How did you escape?" Webby asked the Moonlander. "I boarded a ship alone and flew to Earth with the Armada attempting to shoot me down. My ship took a few hits but I've managed to pilot it to Earth but due to substantial damage, I crashed into the sea near your manor which is a relief. Abandoning ship, I swam to the shore and limped my way to warn you about Lunaris and the Martians."
"And the injuries I presume are from the crash?" Goldie asked. Penumbra nodded and, "So there. The whole story on how I got into this situation and escaped to tell you guys everything."
"So a Martian Armada awaits in space and the moon is invaded. this ain't good." said Della. "But what's the worse that can happen?"
"I was coming to that." Penumbra took a deep breath and then, "He's back."
"Who?" Scrooge asked. "You don't remember? You fought him, he outwitted you but you made a comeback in the end. And now, it turns out he's with the Martians." Penumbra stated. Scrooge thought a bit and gasped. "It can't be..."
"Indeed..." said Penumbra and she revealed it.

"Lunaris is back."
All gasped at the mentioned name. "Impossible! We saw him trapped in his ship wreckage and defeated!" said Donald. "Yeah! How did he even managed to survive in space amidst his wreckage despite all the pew pew lasers we fired?!" Della asked.
"It's not our concern now. Our concern is Lunaris! He allied with the Martians but reasons unknown and when he invaded the moon, he brought with him some machine. It released some energy wave forcing my people into his submission! They fought to help me escape but ended up being his thralls." Penumbra exclaimed. "I've failed my people..."
"You did not." Goldie stated and Diamond nodded in agreement. "Their efforts aren't in vain. They are aware of what's going to happen and they helped you to escape to Earth to warn us."
Penumbra was surprised by this as her mind recalled what happened back on the moon.
(Flashback)
The waves are spreading fast as many of the Moonlanders ended up under the machine's control.
"Perfect! It is just as planned! My people are once again under my command! Martians! Dispatch strike teams and patrols to gather my people and if any of you find Penumbra, you have my authority to execute her at your own will!"
"Yes sir!" The martians obeyed and scattered themselves in the city.
Somewhere, "There's a ship over there!" A Moonlander Trooper told Penumbra as there's some more of them on guard. "Protect our leader! She must head to Earth at once!" He called out to the others as they readied their weapons in case of any attack. Penumbra quickly boarded the ship and, "Go! We'll cover your escape!"
"I will not abandon all of you!" She replied. "Just go! Better we fight to the last Moonlander so that we can ensure that you warn Earth about this!" The trooper replied when, "Incoming!"
Beams were fired as the Martians returned fire and the energy wave is spreading faster. Penumbra couldn't bear it so, "I will return and free you soon!" So she got the ship ready and took off to Earth.
Back to Lunaris, "Sir! All the Moonlanders have been rounded up and under the machine's control." A Martian Trooper reported. "And the traitorous Penumbra?" The general asked. "We saw her escape in a ship." The trooper replied. "HA! She was a fool to flee because the armada has formed a blockade on this planet. Give the order to fire at will and blow that toy to pieces along with her worthless corpse!" Lunaris ordered as the trooper opened communications and relayed the general's order.
And with that, the ships and cruisers opened fired as Penumbra piloted the ship to evade the lasers though a few hit it but she still continued flying with more lasers hitting her ship until, "Beep! Beep! Beep!"
"Crap! The systems are damaged!" All she can do is watch as the ship burn and head to Earth at full speed.
Back on the moon, "We took care of it." The trooper reported. "AHAHAHA! This is too easy! It's like taking candy from a baby! With the moon reclaimed under my leadership, we can commence the invasion! The fleet will hold in the skies of the Earth. Meanwhile, have my people finish the portal so that the Martian Ground Forces can use it as a staging ground for the invasion." Lunaris ordered as the troope complied as Lunaris is in thought. "And with that, everything is going according to my plan. Just you wait Scrooge, I'm gonna finish what I've started and this time, nothing will stand in my way! NOTHING!"
(End Flashback)
"Truly they risked their lives to help me escape..." Penumbra thought. "Anyway, what's Lunaris' next move?" Beakly asked. "I wish I knew..." Penumbra replied and then, it hit her. "The portal!"
"Oh yeah! The one that you built so you can link the other one on Earth right?" Launchpad recalled. "This is bad! They may try ta complete tha portal on tha Moon and once they succeed, dey can send in a massvie invasion force via tha portals an Earth will be helpless!" Scrooge exclaimed. "Then let's go and destroy the portal on Earth!" Della declared. "No! Even if we did, they still have their armada in space!" Louie stated. "Green Della brought up a good point. Lunaris can invade Earth by using either the Martian Armada or the portal on the Moon." said Penumbra. "It's like if one of his plans fail, he has the other as his backup plan."
"Right. Lunaris will invade Earth soon but we do not know his true intentions. So listen up!" Scrooge pointed at Donald, Della and Launchpad. "Tha 3 of you will go to tha moon an save it!"
"I will go also!" Penumbra declared. "No! You stay an recover!" Scrooge stated to her firmly. "And do nothing but watch my people be thralls to Lunaris?! I cannot allow that! He'll use them to help invade your planet and they risked their lives to help me! I cannot abandon them and thus, I have to save them!" Penumbra declared. "Besides, I can still engage in combat despite my condition."
"Yes! Back to the moon baby!" Della cheered. "Yeah! I get to visit the moon and eat cheese!" Launchpad stated leaving everyone bewildered by his statement. "What? The moon is like a piece of round cheese and I heard it's made out of cheese too!"
"Launchpad, you need to read a book about the solar system." Huey sighed and, "What about us Uncle Scrooge?" Dewey piped. "We stay here on earth and be on guard! Red alert! Lunaris an his forces may strike at any time an depending on which plan he uses!" Scrooge ordered. "We also need to protect our friends!" Dewey added. "Then you lads an lass got to yer high school an get those friends of yours!" said Scrooge. "Moreover, we're gonna need all the help we can get." said Beakly. "No need ta worry Agent 22. I've been working on that fer years an I'm gonna make use of it!" Scrooge then prepared to leave as, "Where's he going?" Webby asked. "To the Money Bin." Goldie replied.
Some time later, Scrooge is in his office as he pushed a button on the wall and something opened out beside. "Just in case of any outside threat." Scrooge then pressed the button.
It cuts to Djinn and Amunet hanging out outside the pyramids when one of them in which the tip activated some beacon and it glowed red.
Next, Selene and Storkules are with Zeus discussing something when they heard the beacon sounding off as it glowed red in the chamber.
Then, the residential monsters in Hazel House got the message as the beacon lit up in the colour red and sounded.
And then, Darkwing Duck who's patrolling in St Canard got the message via one of his gimmicks glowing red.
After that, Fenton and Gandra are seen in Gandra's house experimenting when her phone buzzed and it shows some beacon-like icon glowing red in her phone.
Moving on, King Honestus along with Vero and Aletheia are seen watching over the Mervanans when the Mystical Harp called for them and they went to meet her and she showed them a phone with the screen red in colour and showing some beacon-like icon.
And somewhere, Gladstone, Fethry, Panchitos and Jose are seen partying when they got the signal via their phones as their screens glowed red.
In the police station, Officer Cabrera just met up with Inspector Tezuka who flew from Japan when her phone beeped and the screen became red with the beacon-like icon and she found out and Tezuka took a peek.
And finally, Jormungandr and his associates are seen training in their pro wrestling skills when they heard the beacon so they stopped, nodded at each other and left.
Once Scrooge pushed the button, he got Gyro, Lil Bulb, Manny the Headless Man Horse and Emily Quackfaster to tag along with him as they followed him back to the manor.
Meanwhile...
"You still have the ship that you piloted? After all these years?!" Penumbra asked as Della unveiled it. "Had this baby tooled up for the better with some scientific help! More lasers, armour and extra boost to this space speedster!" Della assured and laughed patting the Spear of Selene which is now upgraded and enhanced. And yes, they are outside when, "Your uncle's back with some allies." Penumbra told her. "Well let's go!" Della replied and they went inside.
Once they got in, "I didn't expect you to have a lot of allies associated with you Scroogie." Goldie exclaimed. "In any adventure, whoever works with me is by my side." Scrooge replied when suddenly, "Sir! Come quickly! This is seriously problematic but I've got a bad feeling our expectations are beyond Lunaris!" Beakly emerged from nowhere and all eyes are wide knowing that something's up and they weren't expecting it.
It now cuts to some computer room as all are gathered. "This is room is meant for external emergencies from outside like those Martians Penumbra mentioned." said Huey. "And now they're using the room for the first time." said Webby as the adults looked at the screen.
"Curse me kilts! Tha portal on Earth is open an activated!" Scrooge exclaimed as the screen reveals a webpage screen as the Martians emerged. "So this is what they look like. They look just like your people Penny! Except the skin colour that makes them stand out." said Della and then, "Look! The armada has entered the atmosphere of Earth!" Beakly pointed out as another webpage screen reveals the ships all in the sky below the city of Duckburg and then, multiple webpage screens opened up revealing many ships in the sky and above the various cities in the countries.
"This is worse than I thought Scroogey." Goldie exclaimed. "Just like before, Lunaris is one step ahead of me! This is no ordinary invasion." Scrooge stated.

"It's a 2 pronged attack! An invasion on 2 fronts. And wer're gonna need all tha help we can get if we're gonna stand a chance against it. I must say, it's stronger than before."
Scrooge is correct. This is gonna be one tough battle. Spaceships, lasers, Martians and full-scales fights expected to happen soon!
Yes, this chapter is short. Preparation is key because I'm gonna wrap up the Second Year Arc in a few chapters! Oh yes! these few chapters will be a homage to the Season 2 Finale. In other words, based on it.
And what the...Lunaris is back!? Well things can get more intense! Oh well, let's see what happens next so sit back and relax guys! I got writing to do! Woo-hoo!
