Chapter 74 – Birthday Proposal

It was 1800 hours at the time and Luke was in the living room adjusting the belt of the tux, since he decided to bring his and Ines lightsaber, he thank the fact the jacket was big enough to cover them. He was combing his hair. The last time he wore a suit like this was on his wedding day and that day ended not so well.

"You look so handsome my dear" Jobal said to his grandson rocking a still awake Ben, who somehow refuse to sleep.

"Thanks grandmother. I wonder what Ines is planning"

"She didn't tell you anything?" Ruwee said from his seat

"Ines can be very mysterious when she wants. I don't even know the dress she is wearing cause she kick me out of the bedroom" Luke told to his grandfather

"I saw it when she was breastfeeding and my son, she if is already beautiful wearing those suits, you will drop when we see her in the dress she choose." Jobal said looking at her great grandson who was fixing his already starting to show blue eyes, on his father, sucking in his fingers, which made Luke looked at him and smiling he approached him

"I know, your father doesn't look like your father" he told him, smiling when Ben smiled at him showing his toothless gums, making Luke picking him and kiss him. He loved these moments between him and his baby.

The elevator door opened and Han entered with Chewie and 3PO

"Hey kid, look at you. All dashing" Han smiled at him making Luke smirked at him.

"Master Luke, you look like a gentleman today!" 3PO said making Luke laughed. In a way Luke knew what the droid was saying.

"Well thanks for staying here while Ines and I will be away tonight. My grandparents are here watching Ben, but I still want someone like Chewie to protect them."

"No problem. Chewie will watch over this little fella" Han smiled to the baby on Luke arms, who was looking at Chewie. Luke noticed at his son

"You like Uncle Chewie don't you?" Luke smiled kissing the top of his head. Somehow his son loved Chewie and R2, maybe because of the noises they made. "But look at you too? You were talking about me but today you looked very gentleman too" he laughed

"Yeah the things I do for your sister" he said

"Are you nervous about tonight?"

Han took a deep breath.

"I don't know how to do this. Were you nervous when your propose to Ines?"

"Are you serious? I was super nervous. I didn't know if Ines would say yes"

"Come on Luke, how could you think that. You and her were expecting this little guy at the moment. Did you really think she would say no" Han said a little surprised by that.

"That didn't meant anything. She lived a life of aristocracy, and I didn't know if she wanted to continue that life or be with me, a farm boy. I know, I was stupid to think that because she loved me, but I was still nervous"

"I just hope she likes the ring"

"Of course she will" Luke smiled

"But what about you? Where are you going?"

"Don't ask me because I don't know. Ines planned everything" Luke said rocking his son.

"Well I have to go too. Have a nice night" Han winked at Luke

"You too" and Han left the apartment.

Then Ines came from inside.

"Okay I'm ready, sorry for taking to long but I'm not used to this stuff of dresses and makeup" she said putting her earring.

Luke turned and his heart skipped a beat: his wife was wearing a long pink dress, opening in the back, her hair tied in a bun, and she was wearing long earrings and makeup. She looked stunning and he couldn't believe she was his.

"You know everything right?" Ines asked to Jobal who smiled at her. She understood why she was asking that. It was the first time she would be away from her baby, even if it was for 14 hours.

"Don't worry I know. The bottles are in the fridge. I know the temperature and everything. I had two daughters and I had two granddaughters."

Ines sighed

"I'm sorry but it is the first time I've being away from him. I cared him for 9 months inside me and I never being away from him since he was born." she said looking at her baby and walking towards him, she took him from Luke's arms and rocked her baby on her chest. Luke smiled at that. He understood her side, because after all she was the mother, she cared their baby inside her and she went through labor pains to put him in this world, and unlike him she never was apart, so of course this was way harder for her.

"Do you think he would deal well with the bottle? And what if he doesn't want to use the breast anymore?"

Luke smiled at that.

"My love, of course you will breastfeed him and he will be fine with the bottle because the milk is yours so he would not see any difference. He will be fine, besides we can sense him if anything goes wrong. Besides we have Chewie here to watched over our little boy"

Ines looked at him and then to their baby and nod. He was right. Passing Ben to Jobal, she grabbed her purse.

"See you in the morning okay my little love." she said rubbing her nose to his, smiling while Luke kissed his little forehead

"Have fun, he will be fine" Ruwee said and grabbing Ines hand, Luke lead her out of the apartment.

When they entered inside the elevator he looked at her

"You look so beautiful right now. That dress makes me want to take you here right now"

"No, no, no. You will have to wait for that much later." she said "Although you look so damn gorgeous in that tux" she smiled while Luke kissed her hand.

He wonder how was Han and Leia dinner going on.

At this very moment, Han had taking Leia to one of the many beautiful gardens in Coruscant. Leia didn't understand why Han took her there before going to the restaurant.

"Han why are we here?"

"You will see" he told her and took her to a specific place in the garden where he stopped and facing her he smiled. "I'm not the romantic type of guy and you found out when we knew each other. We were always in each other's throats, if you remember" he smiled making Leia smiled too "But the truth is I fell in love with you Leia. We are not Luke and Ines, that was a soul encounter in my opinion, but I know our love is true too and strong. When you told me you were pregnant I was scared as first, but I was happy to have a family with you. I think I never found anyone so important to me, until I found you. We lost our baby, and I know you were devastated and I was too, and that made me realize I want to have more kids with you Leia, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So I don't have fireworks but I have this" and click a button and tiny light bulbs light up forming the phrase: "Will you marry me?"

Leia gasped and when she looked at Han he was on one knee and in his hand was the most beautiful engagement ring she ever saw.

"What do you say. Will you marry this scoundrel and be his forever?"

With tears in her eyes Leia just nod. She couldn't say anything.

Standing up, Han put the ring on her finger.

"Oh Han, this is the best birthday I could ever have"

"I love you Leia"

"I love you Han"

And the new engagement couple kissed, happy for having each other.

Han finally propose Leia. What did you think of the propose? Next chapter will be the birthday night between Luke and Ines. You know how it will end.
