The next Day | Fairy Tail Construction Sight
"Hey Vyra, can you pass me the drill?" Jett questioned looking over to the blue headed girl next to him.
Too preoccupied with holding a two by four plank in place, he needed an extra hand. Giving him the power tool, he thanked her as she proceeded on with her own task.
Vyra... hasn't spoken a word at all today.
Sting... he left in the morning, to head back to the Sabertooth guild... and Vyra, has been quiet as a mouse ever since.
She felt so empty... so lost...
Without him...
"When did you become an antisocial loser?"
Looking upward, the bluenette was faced with dark piercing burgundy eyes staring down at her. Slightly annoyed with the comment, the girl bit the inside of her cheek.
"I'm not antisocial, nor am I a loser Gajeel-" Vyra softly responded continuing to wash the linens in the wooden bucket sitting on the grass as the dragon slayer took the open seat next to her
"Heh. Could've fooled me. You remind me of me way back when-" He twisted one of the soaking wet towels to wring out the water as she washed
So, he wanted to join her did he?
"Do not-" She quickly shot back, not making eye contact
"Tch, yeah right-" Gajeel grunted
...
"Shut up."
Turning with a smirk in victory, Gajeel watched the bluenette's expression. A small tight lipped smile broke out across her lips as she grabbed the next sheet throwing it into the bucket.
Soon Lily scampered over and jumped into Vyra's lap proceeding to make the moonlight mage and dragon slayer take a break.
Watching from afar, Lucy, Mira and the other girls began to chatter.
"Who knew Gajeel would be the first one to get Vyra talking-" The celestial mage began as she watched Vyra talk to Gajeel while petting Lily.
Although she had no idea what they were saying from being too far away, she could only see their mouths move... and that's a start...
For Vyra at least.
"I'm actually not that surprised-"
Turning to hear the sweet angelic voice, it was from no other than Mirajane Strauss herself.
"Really Mira?" Lucy and Levy gawked
"I mean when Vyra first joined the guild she clung onto Laxus like a leech-" The s-class mage went on
"A leech?"
"Maybe use a different metaphor sis-" Lisanna sighed putting a hand on Mira's shoulder making the girl blink
"Gajeel sort of has Laxus' temperament, so I think it makes sense that they click-" Mira finished as their eyes all lingered on Gajeel and Vyra
Hm. Now that's an unusual pairing that's for sure.
"This part right here though... is going to be the toughest part..." Levy slumped back into her chair in defeat
"And why is that?" Wendy questioned walking over with Carla in her arms as the ex council member sweat dropped nervously
"Because we have to pick our next official guild master-"
"If we don't get through all this paperwork, technically we will be considered a dark guild..."
And they obviously didn't want that.
Good thing they had Levy McGarden. Jeez, if Levy wasn't here, they'd be completely helpless when it comes to things like this.
A fight then broke out consisting of Natsu and Elfman. Well... it started with them at least, but in typical Fairy Tail fashion... Everyone joined in on the fight.
Watching the scene from a far, Vyra let out a slight chuckle causing Gajeel to blink an eye open, turning to see the girl laugh. The dragon slayer then smirked to himself before watching the rest of their crazy guild.
He was just glad that she was finally opening up. Somewhat at least.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!"
Stomping her foot on the ground, everyone froze in terror hearing the icy cold tone of the fairy queen's voice.
"Ah ha! That makes everything so much easier!" Levy shot straight up
"Our seventh guild master will be..." She picked up her quill
"Erza Scarlet!"
Frozen on the spot, Erza was astonished. She definitely was not expecting this.
"W-Wait! S-Slow down... please! I'm flattered but I-I-" The redhead began to blush, obviously flattered and honoured by the sudden nomination
"Hey... yo-" Gajeel turned to a frozen Vyra
"Goddess of the whatever-"
"You with me?" The iron dragon slayer waved his hand in front of her face. She was totally out of it. Grabbing his hand mid wave, made the boy blink in surprise as she pulled her body upward from it. The girl was absolutely seething.
"You're telling me that she's going to be Guild Master?!"
Turning around, the whole guild was met with the moonlight mage about to blow a gasket. Holding onto her head she raked her nails through her hair beginning to break out into a cold sweat as she pointed offensively towards the redhead
Titana Erza?
Guild Master?
Ha. No way.
She didn't deserve such a title-
"I rather drop dead first before I have to witness Erza being our guild master!"
"Vyra..." Mira began
Maybe she'll be able to calm her down. After all, Mira does have a way with people.
"No, I object— Macao, I want Macao!" She began to make a scene as others continue to stare
Macao on the other hand, had tears brimmed to his eyes full of wavering emotion. Finally, someone acknowledged him for the seven years... and she still wanted him guild master.
'Thank you Vyra my sweet-'
"No. She has a right to be angry at me." The red head turned to the group
"Vyra. I understand... I understand your anger-"
Her eyes narrowed deeply asserting her magical pressure making everyone's body freeze in fear.
"but are you done?"
Astonished by the remark, Vyra chuckled in disbelief.
...
"Am I... done?" She repeated
'Did she really just say that?'
'Are you kidding me?'
"You know what?"
"Maybe I am." Vyra turned on her heel
"Because I just can't be in a guild where she's master-" The bluenette stated with major emphasis.
What a slap in the face that would be.
"Vyra..." Erza reached a hand out before the girl cut her off
"Save it-"
...
"Vyra-" Erza repeated with a crack in her voice
Taking a step forward the redhead shook emotionally with her hair shagging over her eyes. It was so silent that a pin could drop, surrounded by all the wizards.
"Please, don't leave..." She pleaded
Stopping in her tracks, Vyra seemingly listened. She's NEVER heard the redhead's voice so... skittish before.
"..."
"In all honesty, I don't know what to say to you... And I still don't-"
"But all I can truly say is... that I'm sorry." She eyes Vyra's still figure
"I'm sorry that you got kidnapped as a young child-"
"I'm sorry that Jellal was a terrible sibling to you-"
"The Tower Of Heaven... I left and you were still in that treacherous tower. After finally escaping and becoming your own person, Fairy Tail was your fresh start. The girl that abandoned everyone... to see my face every day probably brought you years of pain-"
"I'm sorry for not being a good comrade-"
"It's haunted me every day since I found out... you were you."
Vyra watched as Erza proclaimed her feelings. Who knew she actually had any to be honest.
"But if I am going to be guild master, I need you by my side. I can't... do this without you."
Vyra turned, watching the woman from a far, stood in astonishment. Wow. Erza apologizing, now that was a sight. Never did she think she would see the day.
But even then, it wasn't like it was going to change anything.
. . .
Walking back to the redhead with strong unwavering emotion, the bluenette stood her ground. An apology? That's it? What was that going to do?
Bright cerulean eyes matched the redheads soft brown ones as they glared at each other not breaking eye contact.
"Then maybe... you shouldn't."
All watching in awe, the Fairy Tail wizards were speechless. Did Vyra Fernandes just tell off Erza Scarlet?
Grabbing her personal belongings from the bench, Vyra was spazzed. She just couldn't think straight. She had to get out of here... She just needed some breathing room.
"So that's it huh?! You're just going to give up and leave?!"
Rolling her eyes, the girl knew that voice from anywhere. Letting out a sigh, she cranked her head around.
"I'm not giving up Natsu-"
"VY THAT'S IT! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS CRAP!"
Startled by his rage, Vyra watched the pink headed dragon slayer as he neared her. Okay they fought before, but never did Natsu scream at her so viciously.
Grabbing her bag straight out of her hand, he threw it on the ground as some of her belongings spilled out of it.
"N-Natsu!" She shouted offensively
"I understand how upset you are! It's me! Trust me Vy, I KNOW!" He screeched making the girl watch him intently
Natsu Dragneel. Her best friend. He was the closest to her, besides Laxus... and now Sting.
Natsu... he's been with Vyra through thick and thin... when Laxus was away and way before the white light dragon slayer...
They had a bond. A unique bond, that was just unexplainable.
"You got beef with Erza. Vyra, we ALL knew that since day one, but what?"
"YOU'RE GOING TO THROW ALL OF US AWAY, BECAUSE OF HER?" He raged pointing at the fairy queen before continued with his speech, listing off a hand full of names
"Lucy! Gajeel, Wendy!"
"Laki-"
"Levy!"
"Jett, Droy! Even Juvia?!" He paused making it apparent to skip Gray's name
"What about Bisca and Alzack?" He pushed
"AND LITTLE ASUKA?!"
"N-No..."
"What was that Vy? I CAN'T FREAKING HEAR YOU!"
"I SAID NO NATSU!" She shouted back on her knees with tears threatening to spill.
Leave it to Natsu to win over Vyra leaving all the others with jaws dropped.
"So what if you hate her?" The boy shrugged his shoulders before crossing his arms cooly
"All that matters is that the rest of us love you."
"And believe me when I say this, Vy-" He stared her in the eye
"We're not the same without you in it."
The bluenette was left speechless listening to the dragon slayer's proclamation staring into the boy's bright amber eyes. Hearing the words from Natsu himself, hit the girl like a ton of bricks as overwhelming emotion started to take over her body.
'Wow. It's really been a whole year? Huh Natsu...'
Trembling, the girl instantly grabbed the boy's scarf, almost choking him due to the tug, pulling him to a quiet place near the forest where no one was around.
Comically choking and gasping out of air zombie-like, the dragon slayer was slowly losing oxygen. His face turned a shade of blue.
Hm. Blue definitely wasn't Natsu's colour. Realizing this, she released him as he dropped to the ground gasping like a fish for air.
Was her hold on him that tight?
Regaining the oxygen back to his brain, Natsu pulled off the accessory that nearly killed him before he turned to face the girl causing his eyes to widen.
There was Vyra, dropped to her knees wiping an endless amount of tears from her bright blue orbs. Her cheeks were reddened as she let out willowing sobs unable to control herself. Her chest was heaving, her throat was dry, her body shook...
But all Natsu could do was stare.
She was so broken. Obviously the girl was traumatized. It wasn't just about Erza being declared their new guild master, being apart from Sabertooth... Sting... it hurt her. Not to mention having to deal with Gray...
Slowly walking over, he got down onto his knees and wrapped Igneel's scarf around her neck before leaning closer, holding her in his arms.
"Leaving for a whole year was the stupidest thing I've ever done-" The dragon slayer stroked her hair as she leaned her forehead against his chest.
Though Vyra had to admit, out of everyone... She missed Natsu the most. Her other half... to upright disappear like that.
So warm...
"Y-Yeah..." She sniffled against his scarf
"It'll never happen again-"
"Okay Vyra?" He softly looked down waiting for an answer
...
"Okay Natsu."
A/N: Sting's back at Sabertooth, so that leaves Vyra having to fend for herself for a little bit. Will this be good for her? Being close to Natsu once again, will that break the ice with her old guild mates? Will she forgive Erza? And let's not forget about Gray...
Till next time!
