After leaving Mac's room; Trish made her way back down the hallway to the waiting room where she had left Frank and Admiral Chegwidden. She wasn't surprised to hear them chatting about A.J's days as a Navy Seal, she cleared her throat to gain their attention; both men stoped chatting and looked her direction.
"Trish dear, how are the kids?"
"I'm worried Frank; Harm isn't in a good place right now. He's blaming his self for everything that's happened. I've never seen him this bad before. Not even when he lost his father." Trish stoped talking when the door opened, everyone looked over when Bobbie Latham walked inside. Trish was the first to approach her, "Why are you here?"
"I'm looking for..." Admiral Chegwidden walked over.
"Congresswoman, now isn't the time. Commander Rabb needs to focus on his wife and baby right now, surly you can understand that."
"With all due respect Admiral; this not only looks bad for myself, but Harm as well."
"Ms Latham; perhaps you should have given that some thought before kissing a married man and on a Naval Carrier no less."
"Pardon me; who are you to tell me what to do."
"I'm Harm's mother, and I don't care for your attitude towards my son and his wife. I would think that as a member of Congress you would hold yourself to a higher degree of standards."
"Mrs Rabb, I'm not ashamed of my actions; I have and always will have a tender spot where your son is concerned"
It was at that moment Harm walked into the waiting room, he stopped as he heard the heated discussion taking place between his mother and Bobbie.
"What the hell is going on here?" Everyone looked over to the door where Harm stood frozen in place.
Bobbie went straight over to him- "Harm we need to finish our conversation from earlier."
Dropping Tommy's bag next to the door; he raised his hands. "NO! I said everything I had to say. I told you to leave! You've caused myself and my wife enough trouble for a lifetime. She's so stressed out that they are having to keep her sedated to keep her blood pressure down." Harm took a deep breath; running his hand through his hair.
He started to pace the room, Trish walked over to him, she tried to take him in her arms, he pushed her away. "No mom. I need..." Tommy's cry's caught everyone's attention. Harm went to him picking him up; cradling him to his chest. He ran his hand up and down his little back in an attempt to soothe him, Tommy settled right down once he was in his fathers arms.
Trish watched her son and grandson, it was at that moment, she went over to Bobbie. She motioned for her to follow her out to the hallway; Bobbie followed Trish.
"Ms Latham; I think you need to leave. It's clear my son does not want you here, and quite frankly; I don't either. I will however advise you to fix this problem that you've created."
"Mrs Rabb..."
"It's Mrs Burnett."
"I'm sorry; Mrs Burnett, I only want what's best for Harm. I care about him deeply."
"If that's true, than leave him and his family alone. He's happy, he loves his wife and children, please don't make this any harder on him. He's gone through so much heartbreak in his life, please love him enough to let him go."
"I wish it was as easy as that, surly you know what's it's like to love a man so much that you'd risk everything for him."
"Yes as a matter of fact I do; I loved Harms father with everything in me. I still do, but I had to let him go.Please let Harm go." Trish ducked her head and walked back into the waiting room, leaving Bobbie standing there to ponder her words. Realizing Trish is correct; she needed to love Harm enough to fix this mess. Turning she headed out of the hospital at least for now.
Trish pushed the door open, and made her way over to her son and grandson. She patted both of them on their backs. Harm looked at his mother with sad tired eyes. He handed Tommy over to her. And headed out of the waiting room.
After leaving he just started to wonder the halls, before he realized it he found himself in the hospital chapel. He just stood at the back for a few minutes; finally he slowly made his way to the front, taking a seat on the front pew. He leaned forward placing his hands on his face, after a few minutes he just syed. He started to get up until he felt a hand on his shoulder. Glance to his side, he smile a bit at the sight of Admiral Chegwidden.
"How'd you know Sir?"
"I found myself in one of these once. Was a long time ago. I found myself bargaining with God that night."
"Did everything work out Sir?"
"Yes; my daughter is still here. Talk to him Harm you just might feel better." He patted Harm on the shoulder and headed out. Harm glanced to the side and watched as his C.O left. He thought about leaving and going back to check on Mac. Than something stoped him, it was at that moment he found himself starting to pray.
"I don't know if you can hear me; or if you even care, but please don't make Sarah and my daughter pay for my sins. They've done nothing wrong, my past mistakes shouldn't be taken out on them. Please if you are a Merciful God, spare them. Take your anger out on me."
After a few more minutes, Harm stood and started to leave. He kept his head down as walked towards the back. He stoped when heard a familiar voice.
"Where are you going Little Harm"
