Previously On Fairy Tail

"Leaving for a whole year was the stupidest thing I've ever done-" The dragon slayer stroked her hair as she leaned her forehead against his chest.

Though Vyra had to admit, out of everyone... she missed Natsu the most. Her other half... to upright disappear like that.

So warm...

"Y-Yeah..." She sniffled against his scarf

"It'll never happen again-"

"Okay Vyra?" He softly looked down waiting for an answer

...

"Okay Natsu."

Fairy Tail Reconstruction Zone

"You can't be in two guild's Vy-"

"..."

"Who gave you permission to speak to me?"

Gathering materials, Vyra thought would be simple enough for today's job... but when Gray soon approached her, her body went limp.

"Who said I need permission to talk to you Vy-"

"Don't call me that."

The person she's been trying to avoid this whole time. Gray Fullbuster... her ex... was conversing with her as if nothing happened.

Him breaking her heart-

Twice...

Leaving her...

"Listen-" The blunette stood up, dropping the remaining wood logs in her arms as Gray watched her intently waiting for whatever explosion was to follow.

"We might've grew up together, been in the same guild, friends... and more..."

"But that's it." She turned

"I have to deal with you because I'm here... and I chose to come back, because I love Fairy Tail!" The girl paused feeling the tension in her jaw

"I'm here for everyone... but that doesn't mean were okay-"

"Do you understand that?"

"This isn't the same as last time."

"You made a decision that you'll never be able to take back."

"Regret?" She stomped forward towards the ice mage with sass making him stiffen

"Do you feel it Gray?"

"Because you should-" She snapped stepping even closer into his personal space

"I moved on..." The moonlight mage bit the inside of her cheek nervously before deciding whether or not she should continue on with her next sentence

Oh, to hell with it.

"And I'm with someone...that treats me like the sun~" She smiled deeply before looking up to the sky, a ray of light beaming down cross the top of her head

To be honest, it did make Gray twinge realizing how bright her smile was thinking about...

Him.

"It doesn't mean I have to talk to you Gray-"

"AND I SURE AS HELL DON'T WANT YOU TALKING TO ME!"

The outburst caught the attention of many members in the surrounding area. All they could do was watch.

Oh no. Gray and Vyra alert. Her shout sent triggers to Natsu's brain as he darted towards her wavering voice almost immediately.

Knowing of Gray and Vyra's relationship, the dragon slayer knew the ice mage screwed himself, but knew his emotional feelings towards the bluenette were still there. He loved her after all...and Gray Fullbuster is a man who never gives up.

But the salamander was all for protecting Vyra. Gray was in the wrong, she didn't deserve any of the pain he put her through.

"Hiya there Vy! I need y-ya help over here, come on!"

Using himself as a human shield, Natsu threw himself between the bluenette and ice mage grabbing Vyra's hands, swiftly twirling her away somewhat nervously.

"W-WOah N-Natsu!"

The grip the dragons slayer had on her was enough to knock the wind out of the bluenette, surprised by how fast he literally showed up out of nowhere.

'Sorry man, but I can't have Vy lose her cool-' Natsu turned his head back to lay eyes upon the depressed ice mage, hair shagged over his eyes as he tried to comically push Vyra forward away from the scene.

With Natsu and Vyra

"Natsu, you really didn't have to do that-"

"Uhhh, yeah I did-" He nonchalantly replied causing the bluenette to whip her head around and repeat herself with more attitude

"No... you didn't-"

"Yeah I did, Vy!"

"NO! You didn't!" She raised her voice louder trying to over power the salamander, which is hard when you're dealing with Natsu out of all people.

The moonlight mage and dragon slayer were head to head with their cheeks puffed out like cutesy children. Vyra didn't want to admit it, but her stomach was doing flip flops as a brick of anxiety laid heavily on her chest.

"YES-"

"NO-"

"YES!"

"Ughhhh! FINE!" Vyra gave up raking her fingernails through her scalp, rolling her eyes in defeat, letting out an exhale as she dropped to the ground sitting on her bottom.

The girl looked physically and mentally exhausted. Not many could notice, but Natsu could point it out in an instance. That, and she didn't smell the same.

Standing over the bluenette, Natsu blocked her figure with his body so no one was able to see her as he leaned over placing his hands on his knees.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"..."

It was always surprising for Vyra to know that nothing gets past Natsu when it comes to her. She was so lucky to have such a good friend in her life.

It's actually funny because right now, Natsu is the only person she'll hang around in the guild. If she wasn't with the dragon slayer typically the moonlight mage would do her activities independently unless someone came up to her.

"No..."

"I'm n-not, but-"

"What can ya do?" She deeply smiled through her pain holding back the tears that were threatening to spill down her face

"Okay Vy-" Natsu sat criss-cross, in front of her opening his arms

"Bring it in-"

Blinking in surprise, the moonlight goddess watched as the dragon slayer leaned in to embrace her.

Uhhh-"

"What are you doing ?"

"Giving you a hug-"

"N-no-"

"Come on Vy-"

"Natsuuuu-" She withered against his grasp trying to push him away

"Sting's not her to give you one so let me alright?!"

Feeling his muscular arms wrap around her tiny body, Vyra sat frozen, eyes widened. Slowly she began to reciprocate letting her hands hug his sides as she laid her head into his neck.

He's right. Sting's not here... and she missed him that much more.

"T-Thanks..."

"N-Nats-suuu..." Her tears hit against his bare shoulders

"Okay then, First order of business Vy-" He straightened up comically crossing his arms and she leaned back to wipe her puffy eyes

"No more cryin, you got that?" He proclaimed as her stomach tightened

The last couple years of Vyra's life have been a roller coaster and the dragon slayer knew that of course, but he couldn't see her cry anymore. As broken as she was, his heart cracked every time heavenly tears spilled out of her eyes.

and plus it wasn't healthy.

"If ya feel like cryin', just think about Gajeel's terrible singing! It'll make you laugh right away!" He absentmindedly dissed the iron dragon slayer causing her cheeks to sightly flare causing her to crack a smile

"Ya see?! It's frickin' hilarious-"

"YOU CALLIN' ME A JOKE PINKY?!" Gajeel interjected in a fit of rage over hearing Natsu trying to cheer up Vyra

"WANNA FIGHT?" Natsu instantly stood up

"I'LL BEAT YOU TO A PULP!" Gajeel shot back

"YEAH RIGHT METAL FACE!"

"LET'S TAKE THIS OUTSIDE-" Natsu went on causing Gajeel to sweat drop.

. . .

"WE'RE ALREADY OUTSIDE YOU IDIOT!" He raged making the first move, knocking Natsu on the back of the head with his iron club

Soon the two dragon slayers were at it, creating a giant dust cloud, only able to see their limbs stick out from time to time.

Later that evening...

After her heart to heart with Natsu, he's right. It did feel better to smile more. After telling off Gray, putting him in his place, the bluenette felt vigorated.

Until...

"Vy..."

Hearing a raspy voice, Vyra halted. Instantly her expression dropped. It was him.

Again.

Gray stood standing across from her, cheeks flushed, a slight sweat, taking in some serious wind.

'What was he doing running a marathon?'

"Gray no, I-I can't do this again with you-" She shook her head as her mind began to spiral for the second time today

Damn it!

She was just starting to feel better...

"I'm sorry..."

And with that, the girl froze on the spot.

"You can hate me all you want, I know... and I understand why you do-"

"To be honest, ever since that day..." The boy went on

"There wasn't a minute that went by that I didn't hate myself..."

Hearing his somber tone of voice, her expression slightly softened.

"Regret? Do I regret it? Of course I do Vy-" He took a step closer

"But once I found out what Erza wanted me to do-"

...

Wait...

What?

Did she just hear him right?

"Woah, woah woah-"

"Hold it right there ice boy-" Vyra sliced her hand through the air instantly cutting him off

"Erza?"

What did the red head have in this?

"Don't blame her-" Gray instantly cut her off

"It was my choice to step away to protect you Vy, it wasn't her fault."

Blinking at his reply, the girl stood in astonishment. Putting a hand up to her forehead, the girl then broke off into a fit of uncontrollable sadistic laughter.

Natsu said laughing was good didn't he?

"Jeez-" She held her throbbing temples with her finger tips before completely exploding

"I'M SO SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE THINKING THEY KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR ME!"

Stepping forward, her fists began to shake in anger as she bit her bottom lip hard enough to make it bleed.

"I'm not a fragile piece of jewelry, I'm a strong independent woman-"

"I don't need people worrying about protecting me-"

...

"And you know-" She took a step forward closing in the distance between her and the ice mage as her voice switched from anger to soft

"Gray, if you would've just came out with it and told me from the beginning-" Their cerulean eyes locked

"We probably wouldn't be in the position we are right now."

Feeling his heart literally sink, Gray's hair shadowed over his defeated somber expression. The anxiety in his chest began to tighten.

Both of them on each of their sides were dealing with mental distress.

Guilt, anxiety, pain...

"And I'm sorry, but I just can't forgive you for that."

"You've done it twice-" She continued on, not giving him a chance to retort

"The things you've said, doesn't exactly disappear from my temporal lobe all that quickly."

"So I'd advise you to choose your words very carefully the next time you decide to speak to me." She spat, before turning back around

"Vyra..." Gray eyes slowly trailed the back of Vyra's figure as she was walking away

"I..."

"I love you..."

"and... I will never stop-"

"Well, you need to forget that!" She stomped back

"because I don't love you anymore, we're done, we've been done!" She angrily got in his face once again but all Gray did was stare her down.

There was no hesitance, no fear... just confidence.

'God, why doesn't he just get it?'

Those bright cerulean eyes...

"You can't do that G-Gray-"

She nervously evaded his gaze as her cheeks began to lightly heat up due to embarrassment.

"Yeah? And why not?" He took a step closer, causing her to take a step back

This time, the girl was left utterly speechless.

"J-Just leave me the hell alone!" She spazzed sprinting off towards the town as Gray watched her take off.

She didn't know where she was running, but she just had to get away.

'Your wish is my command, Vyra Fernandes.'

'Your wish is my command...'

If she wants space... then he'll give it to her. Gray royally messed up... (which he knew obviously) but all the ice mage could do now was atone.

The whole Daphne thing was because of Natsu and Avatar was all for finding the book of E.N.D in order to fulfil his fathers last wish. He had to do what was done. Though, lying to Vyra about it?

Breaking her heart?

He thought he was protecting her by leaving her out of it... but maybe this time, he was in the wrong.

She's right. Vyra Fernandes is the strongest woman the ice mage has ever laid eyes on.

Erza who?

Even as a kid, he admired her charisma, passion, power... and he found her insanely pretty.

But he loved her.

and he was NEVER going to give up on that.

.

.

.

'I'm not giving up on us.'

A/N: Sorry for the long wait! But here it is, the confrontation between Vyra and Gray. What's going to happen next when they go save Master Makarov? And when Sting and Vyra have their reunion? Leave me those suggestions!
