Caravan Park
"I'm so sorry, I didn't know he'd call Brax." Tyler says, glancing at his caravan door. "He's still passed out, so I don't know what else he said. I'm hoping it was nothing about all of this."
"It was about all of this, Tyler!" Heath shakes his head. "I had a call from Brax early this morning and it took me ages to convince him to not come home early. I had to get Bianca on the phone because he wasn't listening to me. You're so lucky she managed to change his mind!"
"I'm sorry! Lucas has never been one to turn to alcohol in tough situations, he's just been so upset about mum turning up. She lied to him, said I told her I wanted her to move here. It just got to him thinking he was going to lose us all to her." Tyler says. "It doesn't help that Kyle won't answer his calls, he isn't answering mine either actually. They were closer than I've ever been to Lucas, he doesn't want to lose him because of this. I need your help!"
"I know, it's tough. Kyle won't talk to me either, Irene said she spoke to Emily about it and she said similar, that he's being quiet." Heath sighs. "I did get some advice from Brax once he'd calmed down and he thinks we should make it clear we're here for Kyle, but to not be too overpowering."
"And how do we do that?" Tyler asks.
"Give him a few days to work through this, then try talking to him. He's got a counselling session later and Brax asked me to go with him, so I'll try talking to him then." Heath says. "But on the plus side, I saw your mum skipping town this morning."
"Really? She's gone for good?"
"I don't know that but she was shoving bags in her car before speeding off, so I'm taking that as a good thing." Heath says. "I've also called Kayla and she agreed to open up and cover for Lucas, so he doesn't need to go to work today."
"Great, that will give me some time to get through to him about all of this." Tyler says as the middle triplet walks to the caravan door, covering his eyes as he walks out.
"Morning." Heath says, staring at him.
"Morning." Lucas mumbles, going red as he briefly glances down. "I think I called Brax last night and told him everything."
"Yeah, you did and I had an earful from him this morning. You're lucky we changed his mind about returning from his honeymoon early." Heath shakes his head.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't drink when I'm like that." Lucas mutters. "I really am sorry."
"It's fine, we're going to sort this as a family." Heath says.
"Mum's gone, Heath saw her leaving." Tyler informs his brother.
"That's really great!" Lucas says a little perkier. "So Kyle will talk to us now?"
"Let's just take this one day at a time. You've got a lot of making up to do, and you can start by calling Brax to apologise for calling him like that. I've never heard him so mad, and we've got into some bad situations when he's been away." Heath says. "I want you to tell him that everything is actually fine here and you may have exaggerated some things. I don't need him thinking I'm incapable of being in charge around here." He says as he walks away.
"He's really angry about this, isn't he?" Lucas sighs.
"Come on, Lucas, Heath has a lot going on as it is having a child to prepare for, this can't be helping with that. Especially since Brax would usually be the one to sort stuff like this out." Tyler says. "I think it's still early enough that Brax won't be asleep, you can put it on speaker so I can make sure you don't mess this call up as well."
"I'm never going to live this down!" Lucas mutters as they walk back into Tyler's caravan.
Northern Districts Hospital
"You really did great in that session, you don't hold back and keep things hidden, it's really great." Heath smiles as they slowly walk along the corridor to go home.
"Just because Brax put you in charge, it doesn't mean you need to be like him." Kyle smiles.
"How am I being like him?" Heath frowns.
"Cause he says the same after the sessions he goes to as well." Kyle lightly smiles. "I feel better not keeping things to myself, it helps being able to talk about it with someone who has an outsiders look on things."
"I'm saying that because I'm proud of you little bro. You're like a completely different person from the one who was in my car on the way here. I'm glad you chose that extra session in a few days considering what's going on." Heath says.
"I know I said in there that I was glad she's gone, I just… I always thought if I met my real mum, she would have at least acknowledged who I am, and that I'm her son as well. I never thought she'd completely blank me and still think of Lucas and Tyler as twins. It hurt." Kyle mutters.
"I can't even imagine what you're going through right now. But you don't deserve her, she doesn't deserve you. And she's missing out having you as part of her family, I couldn't imagine us without you around now, you're one of us." Heath says.
"You've got to say that because you know Brax is going to call me and ask about this session." Kyle lightly smirks.
"No I'm not! What happened to us being bros again?" Heath shakes his head once he realises Kyle was joking. "Brax is on his honeymoon, he shouldn't be waiting for updates on what's going on here."
"I know, I did say that but he insisted that I do. And Ricky wanted a proper chat as well." Kyle says.
"Wait so when did he say that?" Heath frowns, not realising he had already spoken to the eldest Braxton.
"He called me just before you picked me up this morning. He mentioned Lucas had called him before to apologise for revealing all of this, and he just wanted to check in to see how I was." Kyle says, having needed the call with his brother.
"I know that face, Casey is walking around with the same one." Heath says as he lightly smiles at him.
"What face?" Kyle asks.
"You miss Brax, admit it bro." Heath chuckles.
"Okay, I might be a bit!" Kyle shakes his head as they walk out of the hospital entrance. "But it's because I could talk to him about all of this whenever I wanted, and he'd come to my counselling sessions with me without needing a catch up on previous sessions. I never realised how much I relied on him for help until he was in another country with timezones to think about."
"I know it's not the same because I'm the worst at giving advice, but you've got me in the meantime." Heath lightly shrugs. "And Brax will be home soon, time has flown by so far."
"Yeah, I know. And you're not the worst at giving advice, you're just not the best either." Kyle smiles as Heath lightly shoves him. "You've given me some pretty great advice a few times. And you can't be that bad, just look how many times we've fallen out and made up."
"That's because being the little bro you know you couldn't live without." Heath grins.
"I wouldn't go that far." Kyle scoffs.
"Okay, I think I preferred it when you were ignoring me." Heath says as they walk over to his car. "But seriously bro, I'm proud of you. You've worked through a lot of tough stuff and I know this will be one of them. But you need your family to help."
"I feel bad for being the reason Lucas was like that last night. I wasn't deliberately ignoring him, I just wasn't in the mood for talking to anyone." Kyle sighs. "We keep falling out and I hate it!"
"He feels the same. He thinks he's going to lose you for good because of their mum turning up." Heath says, both of them stopping next to the car.
"He's not! My head is just a mess still and I feel like I've got too many things going on that need fixing. I'm getting there and I was actually thinking I want to move home soon. Would that be okay?" Kyle asks.
"Bro, of course it is!" Heath beams. "You don't need to ask, just pack up and head home when you're ready. And I know the others would be stoked when you're home as well."
"I'll need a few more days to let this blow over, but I was thinking maybe the start of next week."
"We'll have to have a family get together to mark the occasion, I'll let you tell the boys. Now let's go." Heath says, smiling as they both get in the car to head home.
