Zuko woke up to the sound of his friend yelling at him and frantically knocking on his door. Sokka had warned him that might arrive earlier than planned, so the young Fire Lord gave orders to the guards to allow him to come in without announcing his arrival to him first. The whole point of it had been so they wouldn't disturb his sleep if Sokka arrived in the middle of the night, but it was very clear now that he should explained that to his friend.

He opened the door, looking extremely irritated, and was immediately pushed back into the room, losing his balance for a second and almost falling.

"You're marrying your insane sister?" Sokka's voice was so loud that Zuko was pretty sure everyone in the world had heard it.

"Suki told you, huh?" he said, fighting back a yawn. If he had not been too exhausted to care, Zuko would have been actually happy that he didn't have to tell him. He was sick of having the same conversation over and over, so Suki actually did him a favor by telling Sokka right away.

"Yes! And that apparently I'm the last one to know and the only one who is still trying to convince you to change your mind because you've been threatening everyone who says anything bad about her"

"I wish you were right. Everyone tries again after a while."

"Oh, poor you. Are people giving you a hard time for wanting to marry the lunatic you're related to and who almost killed you and all of us a bunch of times?"

That made Zuko go from just irritated, to truly angry.

"Hey, I know you're upset, but don't talk about Azula like that. How would you feel if I started saying Katara is crazy and a threat?"

"Do NOT compare me and my sister to whatever it is you and Azula have! And Katara is not insane or dangerous" he sounded genuinely offended, which made Zuko feel a little better.

"She blew up a factory and almost killed the guy who murdered your mother."

"That's nothing like anything Azula did! Katara blew up that factory to save an entire village, and you helped her go after that guy! And she didn't even go through with it!"

"And Azula only did what she was taught to believe was right her whole life, paid the price, and is now trying to help us! So stop saying she's a threat! What is it going to take for you people to understand she changed?" Zuko could feel his heart beating so fast, it was painful, and he was close to start breathing fire. He hated that he seemed to be the only one to remember that Azula was human, and not the monster Ozai tried to turn her into.

"Look, Sokka, I don't want to fight and I really need to sleep. Can't this wait until morning?"

"No!"

He sighed "I don't have the time or the patience to keep dealing with this anymore. I love my sister and she loves me. She has my full trust, we're getting married as soon as possible, she's going to be my Fire Lady, and I don't care what anybody has to say about it"

"But she-"

"Now let me sleep or I'll have the guards drag you out of my room"

"You're such an asshole!"

"Oh, come on, you get grumpier than that you don't get enough sleep, and we all had to put up with it. Now it's my turn"

Sokka looked like he was about to argue, but stopped himself.

"Fine, but we're not done her, and if Katara gets hurt on this insane mission because your sister betrayed the group or went insane and blew their cover, I'm killing you."

"I'll even let you behead me with one of my swords. Now go."

"And if we survive this, I'm forcing you to go to therapy."

"Good luck with that. The doctors are already invited to the wedding"

Zuko took advantage of Sokka's shock and pushed him out, locking the door.

"See you tomorrow" he yelled, going back to bed and trying to ignore his irritation so he could sleep again.
