Day 3 - 5:30 AM
Takashi stealthily made his way to the training grounds in order to direct his men for the upcoming social event. He rounded a corner of the building, looking back to make sure he was not being followed. The last thing he needed was Sesshoumaru coming after him for this little ploy. Or worse, his mother.
He could see the training grounds and was about to speed over before a demanding presence made itself known.
"Takashi." It said.
Takashi squeezed his eyes shut, hoping he was dreaming.
"Would you mind telling me once again, where was Sesshoumaru when you found him?" The voice continued.
Letting out a defeated sigh he stood upright and turned to face her.
"Lady InuKimi, what a wonderful morning we are having, is it not?" He replied. Trying to buy himself some time.
"Indeed it is, but it would be even better if you would answer my question." She replied, a smile on her face.
"Of course." Takashi said. "I take it he got here last night?" He asked.
"He did." She supplied, and waited for him to answer her previous question.
"That's good." He began. He was not sure what Sesshoumaru had told her yesterday, but chances were he had not told her everything. So, until he got permission to speak about what had transpired in the forest, he would not say a word regarding that specifically. "He was at the beach location." He said.
"Hm… In that case, what took him so long to get back? Those caves are only a couple of hours away." She questioned him.
"Well, Milady, you know our Lord Sesshoumaru. He likes to travel at his own pace, and on foot. He also does not take kindly to being summoned when he is away, no matter the reason." Everything he had said was true, so he knew she had no reason to doubt him.
"You are right." InuKimi said. Takashi almost let his shoulders drop in relief, but he kept his composure.
"If you will excuse me, I have to meet with my men about the gathering." He bowed, turned heel and started to walk away.
"Oh, one more thing, Takashi." She said, and he half turned to face her. "I don't suppose you know why he smells of wildflowers, do you?" Her smile was hidden behind her fan, but he could clearly see the mirth in her eyes, and could hear the amusement in her tone.
He gulped and wet his lips. "Perhaps he went through a field of them, you know how much Rin loves wildflowers, maybe he was picking some out for her." He said. It was plausible enough after all, and he really might have done that afterwards. 'Sesshoumaru better appreciate this, I am SO going to get some answers after this.' He thought before taking his leave again, this time jumping up before she could catch him in a lie.
InuKimi watched as Takashi bounded away. 'This just keeps getting better and better.' She thought. It was clear that Takashi knew something, and there was nothing more amusing than breaking someone down. She closed her fan and made her way to her son's room, it would soon be time for Rin's breakfast and she knew Rin would have just as much fun toying with the General as her.
