Stella feels a massive migraine of epic proportions coming on - and not from the backlash everyone from one side of this Realm to the other must've felt. At least…not directly from that. She went to go find Bloom, just knowing, by now, that anything that can't be explained by any rational logic from Techna needs 'Its Bloom.' for an explanation. She finally tracked her down to the Infirmary, only to get the single biggest shock of her life when she gets in invisibly.
Because there's a dead woman sitting there on the bed, with Bloom curled up with her head on PRINCESS DAPHNE FYRE'S LAP.
Not having any words that could possibly suffice - or even come to mind, for that matter - Stella went and left the room after quietly snapping a photo as proof for her father that her apartment mate does the impossible on a regular basis and can raise the dead. Because her father will need some definitive proof for this bombshell.
After she gets back to the apartment, Flora asks "Stella, have you seen Bloom? She hasn't come back yet, I'm getting worried."
Stella nods, and after a few tries she manages to say "She's in the Infirmary."
"What?! Why's Bloom in the Infirmary?! What happened?"
Stella swallows, and says "I think she just upended history as we know it, Flora."
Flora starts to ask what she means, then stops and closes her mouth. Waits a minute. Then says "That was her." There's no need to specify what 'that' was, the entire school was all but knocked out by it.
"That was her. I need to make a few calls." She locks herself in her room, and puts up as many privacy spells as possible before calling her father at once. Because the long-dead daughter of one of his two best friends in school suddenly coming back to life? That's something he needs to hear.
After a long minute, the phone beeps and King Radius' voice asks Stella? What is it, Sunshine? Has something happened at Alfea? Does it have anything to do with the surge of magic that just hit?
Oh, so the entire Dimension felt it...why am I not surprised? Stella nods, and squeaks out "You remember what I said about Bloom, right?"
The intense red-head that's ridiculously smart and has several terrifyingly-advanced projects she's working on?
Stella can't stop her voice from going a few octaves higher as she squeaks "I think she's a Fyre!"
A Fyre? As in…Domino's rulers? Stella, there are no more Fyres, the Witches saw to that over a decade ago.
"You said she reminded you of Queen Marion, though! With the hair and the scary-brilliance! And King Oritel's stubbornness was legendary, you've begged me not to be anywhere near as stubborn as him!" And Bloom would drive her father up the wall and onto the ceiling without a doubt.
She sounds similar, yes, but plenty of people are stubborn and smart.
Despite her father's words, Stella can hear the edge in his voice - he's trying not to believe her, since he, King Erendor, and King Oritel were good friends back in Red Fountain. If he started looking for Oritel's second daughter, he'd see similarities in half the people in the Solarian court alone.
Deciding there's no way to ease her father into this, Stella says "Father, I'm going to send you a picture. And then you can decide for yourself." She quickly sends him the picture she took ten minutes earlier, and waits for him to react.
What she hears is…a crashing sound. Followed by calls of 'Your Highness!' 'King Radius, wake up!' and 'Princess, your father has just fainted. Someone will contact you when he awakens.'
Stella thinks that's all the confirmation she needs.
Well, looks like I know what Sky meant about there being something about Bloom.
She calls Sky next, the other Royal she knows of attending one of the schools here. "Hey, Sky? I've, um, I've got some news for you…"
Hey, Stella. You don't happen to know what happened to Headmaster Saladin, do you? I just passed him, and he's got this look…
Stella can absolutely believe that. "I just might. Are you alone? Somewhere private?"
Give me a minute, I'll go find that old necklace… Stella sighs in relief, even moreso when Sky says It's on, what's up?
That necklace Sky has ensures nobody can listen in on the conversation in any way, be it spying spells or regular eavesdropping. Specially made for the Royal kids that don't use magic, in lieu of privacy spells. "Sky, this cannot get out, understand? No way, no how. Its too big, and far too important. I…I think I know why Bloom seems familiar to you."
Really? Why's that?
"I'll send you a picture that cannot be leaked, and I think you'll understand. Just don't faint like my father did."
Stella, I'm not going t- Is that who I think it is?!
"Probably."
That…that can't be Princess Daphne Fyre of Domino! She's dead! Or under some mystery curse from the Witches! That picture isn't possible!
Stella sighs, and says "I know. Trust me, I know. Call your father, ask him if its her or not. Mine fainted straight away."
Sky stares at the picture Stella sent him in utter shock, that's…that's impossible. Except apparently it isn't.
Even the Specialists all felt that magical backlash, though there's been no explanations as to what it is or why it happened, but if Bloom Potter is really Bloom Fyre…it would make a lot of sense. Too much sense.
He thought she seemed familiar, but if she's the daughter of the two people his father told him stories about for years…that would do it. After a minute, he texts his father the picture with the caption of 'do you recognize either of these two?'
Not five minutes later, his father is calling him up frantically, demanding to know where he got the picture and who dressed up as his dead best friend's equally-dead firstborn daughter. And who got the idea to blow up a Convergence spell that ridiculously powerful.
Looks like its real, then.
Bloom groans as she wakes up, and cracks an eye open to see Daphne just sitting down. "What happened?"
Daphne shakes her head, saying "Nothing like your probably thinking, Bloom. Faragonda asked me to come to her office and explain what happened and how you freed me."
Bloom grumbles "Not that much to tell. Made a Counter-spell, used a Counter-spell, had to give it my all to break the semi-sentient curse on you."
Daphne hums, just thanking the Dragon that Bloom earned her Enchantix and then two other transformations in doing so. Because the Sirenix Curse…she didn't think it was possible, but the Witches' curse on the power apparently had a will of its own. Hence why it stripped her of her body and turned Politea into a monster. And why it changed the Throne, to.
And it did not want to be broken, cleansed from Sirenix entirely. It fought back, and Bloom fought the Curse. Something Daphne also didn't think possible. Were Bloom literally anyone else, if she didn't have the Dragon Flame inside her…she'd be dead.
As it is, she's still exhausted - though, not to the point of sleeping through Musa screaming at her now.
Daphne shakes her head, and says "Literally everyone else has something of a different opinion. Every single person I've spoken to has asked what you did, how you did it, and who helped you. In that specific order." It was somewhat amusing, honestly - Bloom seems to have a knack for breaking people without ever meeting them or doing anything to them.
Bloom raises an eyebrow, and says "I just said. Broke the curse, gave it my all…and you helped me."
Daphne just buries her face in her hands once more, muttering to herself about how Bloom's still recovering. How she's still extremely exhausted, even if her magic might mask some of the signs, and how nobody would be at much more than the simplest of responses. How nobody else would even be alive. After a long minute, Daphne looks up and says "Bloom, a lot more went into breaking that curse than that. Your just too tired to go through it all right now. Go back to sleep, you still need it."
Bloom tries to sit up, but her elbow slips out from under her and she hits the pillow. Daphne figures the detail that Bloom rolls over is a good sign, that she's recovering. Of course, then her little sister is out like a light once more. So, not that recovered yet.
Daphne can only shake her head at her sister - its another miracle that Bloom's even awake, she's days away from getting out of bed. And yet she somehow thinks she can get out of bed now?
If Bloom could be killed, Daphne would think she has a death wish or something. As it is, Bloom just knows her limits, regularly pushes past them, and is used to digging to the very bottom of her reserves to pull off miracles.
AN: Hey! So, I'm on VACATION! YES! A week on the beach, whoo! Seriously, one day already and its been a blast. wish me luck, I've got a job interview tomorrow - hope I nail it! As for Bloom...yeah, she's gonna need a little time. The Witches, even in canon, were vicious. How they managed to curse Sirenix itself, and not just Daphne, is beyond me. Luckily, Bloom's a terrifyingly-brilliant genius.
Enjoy! More updates coming soon! Please review!
PS. Got a review about one little detail I missed about earning Believix...the bit about people believing in magic. Which rules out the entirety of Hogwarts. Then, I thought about Dudley and Marge! I feel like Dudley was just doing what his parents expected of him...until he got definitive proof of magic. And that wasn't from Hagrid in this fic, it was most definitely from Bloom. And Marge...well, we all remember how she found out about magic and fairies! So...Bloom's still got her Believix!
