Byakuya could not help but take a deep breath, as he went closer to Rukia.
And sat beside her.
Rukia did not even flinch, when he sat so close to her, to the point that there arms almost rubbed with each other.
Silence blanketed the two Kuchikis.

Time had passed, and it's already midnight…
But they just remained setting on the protruding roots of the Sakura tree. Unmoving.
Listening to one another's breathe.
Not quite enjoying the atmosphere.
But at least that way….
They can communicate honestly…
Without words.

"I remembered the two young nameless children I met… after you left" Rukia started to say, after having moved on from the past memories. As she smiled. To lighten the mood.
Knowing that nothing will change.
Nothing must change.
She is Rukia Kuchiki now.
And he is Byakuya Kuchiki…
Her adoptive brother.
Her older sister's husband… widow
Her brother in law.
She felt ridiculous for feeling this way…
For she had realized how stupid her heart is…
For falling in love…
With unavailable men.
