"Show daddy what you got today!" Eddie said soon after Jamie had gotten home from work.
Alaina went and got a pop up little tunnel thing, she put it on the ground and Ryan crawled through it first.
"Wow where'd you get that?" Jamie asked excitedly, watching her follow her brother through.
"We went for a walk today and stopped at a yard sale to find that sitting there! And I found this for Ryan!" Eddie picked up a riding toy that was sitting in the hallway, hidden from Jamie's view.
"Oh nice." Jamie said.
"Isn't that cool! And it's all clean, the lady said her kids barely used it, only gave her like 20 for it all!" Eddie enthused.
"Only…" Jamie mumbled. Eddie cocked her head confused at him.
"Am I missing something?" She asked.
"Well it's not Christmas, Alaina's birthday was couple weeks ago, Ryan's is in a couple months...?" Jamie said.
"Yeah? So?" She asked crossing her arms.
"I just thought ever since you decided on cutting back in your hours we'd be trying harder to pinch our pennies" he told her.
"Jamie it's not everyday someone is selling stuff like this, I looked up a tunnel like that retails for 30, and a riding toy like that can be anywhere from 30-60!" She explained.
"I get that but it's still money you spent." He told her.
"But it's less then it would have been new." She defended.
"I understand. But I'm saying either way, no matter the total, it's still an extra unnecessary cost." He added.
"You act like I spend money on toys all the time! We both agreed we wouldn't do that, I didn't think it meant ever at all!" Eddie replied.
"It doesn't. All I'm saying is, to be practical." Jamie said as he headed for the kitchen to wash his hands for dinner. Eddie couldn't believe what he was saying, she stepped into the kitchen area away from the kids.
"Do you honestly not understand the practicality in toys? Kids need toys to learn, grow their imagination, heck, entertain themselves! Alaina didn't want to take a nap today because she loved the tunnel so much! Ryan played with that riding toy the whole time I made dinner!" Eddie argued back strongly.
"Okay and that's great, I understand toys are important…I just-" he went on.
"You just what!?" Eddie interrupted.
"Never mind, I don't know" Jamie said shaking his head.
"No I want to hear it. You act like your the only one bringing home the money! I work too!" She argued.
"Eddie I know. I'm not arguing that. Just, please drop it. Forget what I said." He insisted.
"Do you think because you make more then me and bring home more? Is that what this is really about? Is this you like being the man of the house and I'm supposed to bow down to whatever you say?" She questioned.
"Eddie stop. That's not at all what I'm saying or my intention. We're equal, even if you didn't work at all I'd say that." He told her.
"Whatever, enjoy your dinner." She said and walked off to get a shower.

Their night got busy when bedtime for the kids came around. Eddie dealt with Ryan while Jamie dealt with Alaina.
Jamie sat on the couch in silence waiting for Eddie to come out and join him. He wanted to make sure they were okay before going to bed.
Eddie finally came out from Ryan's room and poured herself a glass of wine. Jamie patiently waited for her to sit before talking but she headed to their bedroom instead.
"Hey where you going?" He asked confused.
"Bed…gonna try and relax, drink my wine, maybe go on my phone, watch some tv? Is that okay with you…sir?" She asked being smart.
"I thought we could finish our conversation." He said.
"Conversation? You mean lecture." She corrected.
"Babe I'm not lecturing you, come sit with me. I wanna talk. Please." He said. She stared at him, rolled her eyes, sipped her wine and sat down on the couch. Jamie scooted over to sit closer to her but she scooted away.
"Huh?" He said.
"I'm mad. You can't smother me when I'm mad." She said. He listened and went back to the spot he was in.
"Sorry." He said. Eddie finished her glass of wine, set it down on the coffee table and relaxed back on the couch.
"So talk. Your the one who wants to talk." Eddie said looking at him.
"I really didn't mean to offend you earlier. After I thought about it all I realized a fun purchase every once in a while isn't going to set us back…" he said.
"Right." Eddie said.
"I guess I've just been a little stressed with the bills and everything. These budget cuts are not helping. I was supposed to get a raise this month but no one can this year now." He explained.
"Because of the defunding movement?" She asked.
"Yup. It's stressful, but I know my dads way more stressed about it." Jamie said.
"I can't imagine. His hands are tied." Eddie said.
"Yeah, it's kinda like back in school when one person would ruin something for the whole class. I always hated those teachers. Like just punish that kid, why everyone?" Jamie pointed out.
"That's a really good analogy." Eddie said, Jamie didn't say anything else.
"Okay well I'm sorry for lashing out. I didn't know you were stressed. You gotta talk to me about this stuff though, otherwise, how am I supposed to know?" Eddie asked.
"I know, I don't tell you cause I don't want you to worry." He said.
"I'm not worried. I know your number one priority is taking care of your family and I trust that you'll do that." She told him.
"Good, again…I'm sorry for how I went about all that." He apologized again. Eddie accepted the apology and held Jamie's hand.
"Ready for bed?" He asked her.
"Like 4 hours ago." She laughed and got up. Jamie laughed back and followed her to bed.
"Did you get to relax at all today?" Jamie asked as he pulled down the blankets.
"A little. Ry was kinda clingy this morning before we left." Eddie said getting ready to brush her teeth.
When she was done she joined Jamie in bed.
"Okay well I don't wanna keep you up, you got an early start tomorrow…night, I love you."
"I love you too." She said facing him, she lightly scratched his bare back with her nails as they gave each other a quick goodnight kiss.
"I thought you were tired?" Jamie questioned taking note of her seduction as they lay there facing each other.
"I am but…there's always time for a little make up sex" Eddie said flirting, making Jamie smile, he kissed her more and slid his hand up her soft skin.
And the rest was history…

Hope you enjoyed!! Was thinking this would be the last chapter I wrote for this story and I'd go off the season 11 finale with a brand new one but…it didn't leave me with anything to go off really…I thought for sure jamko would announce a pregnancy buttttt I guess not SO maybe season 12's finale will give me the opportunity! ANYWAY hope you enjoyed this chapter! It was a little rocky there in the beginning but they got through it and made up well ;-)Who's side are you on about the whole spending money thing?! This is a similar argument me and my husband have personally had a couple times since getting married. Writing about a personal experience is certainly easier and fun!! As always, don't forgewt to leave your comments and thoughts!! Thanks everyone!
