Chapter 78 I, Monster

The weekend finally came and we meet up with the Guys to bring Ava along. Casey had suggested he found a great place to have fun and training.

Don pulled up in front of a large and impressive abandoned factory with a series of buildings of abandoned.

Alex whistled.

"Is it perfect or what?" Casey asked. "I used to take the train out here after school to raise some," He stops for a moment. "To get away from it all."

We gave Casey a knowing look.

"I didn't know there were any places like this left in the boroughs," Don said. "Room to move shadows everywhere to hide in."

"It's like a ninja playground," Mikey said.

"What do you think Leo?" Casey asked.

As of late Leo was being a bit harder on everyone and snapping at us.

"We're losing daylight let's get training," Leo said.

"Yes Mr. Sunshine sir," Raph said as he ran ahead and hop the fence. We followed after him, both Alex and I help Ava up and over. Casey hoped the fence and fell on the ground.

"You good Casey?" I asked.

"Yeah." He muttered and shot up.

"You sure?" Alex added.

We started to walk through the abandoned place. "Alright, are we ready to play?" Mikey asked.

"What's this screwy game called again?" Casey asked.

"It's called stealth hunter," Mikey said. "Yours truly is the stealth master. I get 30 seconds head start and then you guys start hunting."

"Picture capture the flag," Don said. "Ninja style. He'll be wearing a bandanna that we have to take from him so far none of us has been able to protect the bandanna for longer than 15 minutes."

"Capture the flag at camp is a bit crazier," Alex said. "It's with weapons and monsters."

"But then none of you is Michelangelo," Mikey said. "Battle nexus champion and he who moves like the shadow."

"Hey Shadow thinks fast," Raph said holding the bandanna and slap him will it.

"Ow," Mikey cried Making Raph chuckle. Mikey grabbed the Bandanna. "1.2.3 Go!"

He took off running.

"Hey!" Raph yelled.

"Clock's ticking bros and sis's," Mikey shouted running off. "Catch me if you can!" he ran laughing.

"Alex no shadow traveling," I muttered.

"I know better." She replied.

"Anybody else wants to leave the battle nexus champion here to play by himself?" Raph asked.

"And miss a chance to tag Mikey," Casey said pulling out his baseball bat. "You got to be kidding."

Ava shot us both a look of worry, just smirking back at her. Racing after him, not knowing that we were being watched.

"No super smelling either Tabs!" Alex yelled as she ran past me.

"Hey." I laughed and raced after her.

While Ava trailed behind us.

"This place is even bigger than I thought!" Raph yelled

"Plenty of places for a ninja turtle hide!" Don added.

"Oh let's split up and find that shell head and Casey don't get lost cuz I ain't looking for you two," Raph said.

We split up,

"Ava you can come with us or you can go on your own?" I said.

"I'll go on my own." She said.

"Got it," I said. "If you get lost we will find you."

"Little lack of faith." She groaned and ran off.

Alex and I shared a look and split up. Running through a building looking for footsteps or anything that could tell me that Mikey was here. Something piecing me to the spot, surveying the room. Nothing to be seen yet the piecing glance was still there. Something was here but a shiver still rose my back was it a friend or foe that slipped into my thoughts.

Hoping at the others were having better luck, pushing on and ran through the building.

(Alex P.O.V.)

Climbing up to the second floor of a building, looking for Mikey. It was proving harder, the shell head was good at hiding. Listening and trying to hear his giggles or laugh. There was nothing here, a creaking made me grabbed my sword at the ready. It was either a monster or Mikey.

"Mikey?" I asked.

No response of course.

Another creak, causing me to spin around about to hit only to put it sharply to find Ava's hands raised in defending herself.

"Gods," I yelled. "Ava seriously?"

"I was looking for Mikey," She said defended herself. "But I found you instead."

"Yes, yes you did," I said. "How did you get up here?"

"Well I found stairs and I climbed the rest of it." She said.

"Care to show me?" I asked.

"Come along," She said with a smile leading the way to stairs where the upper were gone, the railing was still there. "Follow me to see how I did it,"

She reached for the railing, cautiously and carefully climbed the railing. It gave a small shake which she froze until it stops, she then kept climbed before she allowed her feet to touch the stairs that were left. She looked up at me and smile. "See?"

"Yes, I do see," I replied taking a few steps back. "Maia,"

My shoes grew their wings and ran towards the stairs. Flying over Ava and hovered about an inch off the ground before the stairs. "Maia," landing on the stairs, which gave a small shake. "Or you could do that."

"Show off," She groaned. "I need to get a pair of those."

"Ask Tabs," I replied simply and started to walk the rest of the way down looking back at her. "Well, are you coming?"

Hearing light footsteps meaning she was following me. No Mikey in sight or sound, I hope the others were having better luck than us. Glancing around to see if I could figure out who was watching us.

"Hey wait up for me," Ava said. "I have short legs."

"Well run then," I replied walking at my normal speed. "We need to find the others and Mikey."

(Tabs P.O.V.)

Still looking, no Mikey to find was getting annoying, there is no way that he is this good. That feeling of eyes on me was still there. Running through the building and courtyards seeing no Mikey but could find Casey and Leo. Leo ran at a building and crashed through a window.

"Is it me or is it that Leo is becoming a bit more reckless and harsh?" I asked Casey.

Casey just looked at me, and shrug his shoulders, making me roll my eyes at him. As Raph, Alex, and Ava appeared.

Seeing something moving with stuff on the ground.

"Aw Mikey that is the worst hiding place ever," Raph said.

Don and Leo appeared from the building.

We had summoned the stuff moving.

"That is just sad," Casey said.

"And unsanitary," Don added.

"Agree," I replied.

"Game over Mikey," Raph said walking to the stuff. "Come on out."

Raph swiftly kicked the stuff only to find rats appearing.

"Ew rats!" Casey yelled.

"Gross," Ava said and fight back a scream, jump on Alex. Who simply steps out of the way of them.

"I think we found your ghost Leo," Don said.

"Maybe," Leo said looking at the buildings.

The sun was starting to get closer to dusk. Mikey was still not found, making us worried.

We split up again looking for Mikey, before meeting back up.

"Anything?" Raph asked.

"Nothing," Leo said.

"I almost had him," Casey said appearing.

"I looked everywhere guys," Don said. "But couldn't find him."

"We looked where we think he would hide," I said. "But no luck."

"It ain't like Mikey to be this good at stealth hunter we usually find him in the first two minutes," Raph said.

"Wanna bet he cheated probably back in the battle shell playing video games right now," Casey said

"It isn't right," Leo growled.

"Relax Master Leo," Raph said. "Casey's just joking."

"It's not that we're being followed," Leo said.

A shadow flew over us.

Alex gripped her ear.

"He is in danger." She muttered.

A deep and nightmare-filled growl sounded around us.

"Mikey?" Casey asked

Followed by nightmare-filled laughter.

"Uh that's not Mikey," Raph said.

"You think?" Alex asked.

A nightmare-filled creature appeared before us, both of us pushed Ava behind us. It started to laugh at us again. The creature was covered in bandages, and that looked like shoulder pads and a red bandanna. He laughs as he jumped away.

"What the Hades is that?" Alex asked.

"Don't let him go!" Leo yelled as we ran after the creature's weapons at the ready.

Night had fallen as we kept chasing the monster.

"Are you sure that this thing is not leading us in a trap?" Ava asked.
"We need to find Mikey," I said. "This creature might be the one who took him."

"He's baiting us," Leo said.

"Like rats in a maze," Don said

"Yeah well I ain't no lab rat," Raph said.

The creature took a quick right which we followed before watching him easily climbed a fire escape.

We climbed after it, Raph threw his Sais, and there missed the creature by a few inches, the creature jump off the roof.

"Whoa." Casey said, "Should he be able to do that?"

"By all human measures no," Don said

"It's not making me feel any better bro." Rap said pulling his Sais out of the wall. We ran after the creature and landed only to find nothing.

"We lost him," Raph growled.

A roar said otherwise and the shadow of the creature appeared in what looks like a brick tower. It turned and walk away from us. Leo growled and ran after him, we started to follow.

"Get them off me, get them off me!" We heard, we turned to see Mikey appeared throwing air off them.

"Mikey!" We all yelled.

"Hey, Leo!" Raph yelled. "We found oh, ah shell."

Leo was still running after the creature.

"Come on!" Don yelled running after Leo, which made us run after him.

Running into the brick tower and hearing creepier laughing. The creature looked up at us and laugh more.

"Not him again," Mikey said.

"Again?" Don asked.

"That's the freak one who tied me up and tried to feed me to the rats," Mikey said.

The creature pulled some rope and the door behind us shut. Red eyes appeared and watch us. Rats soon began to appear.

Ava squeak, grabbing onto Alex tightly all while the creature laughed at us.

"There are only Rats how bad can it be?" Casey asked.

"Ah Casey," Mikey said tapping him on the chest and pointed down to the skeleton ribs cage and various bones.

The rats started to pour out. "Yikes."

"Let's try the door," Raph growled pushing at the door, followed by Mikey trying to help.

"No good," Mikey said as we were pushed together by the incoming rats.

"Get away from the walls no," Leo ordered pulling out his swords.

"Easy rodents nice rodents have I mentioned my sensei was a rat Master Splinter any relatives here with us today?"

A rat yip at him, Alex took a breath and flicked her wrists as the fire began to appear and grew around her. Don and Leo hit some of the rats away.

"Ugly little suckers aren't ya," Raph said.

Ava kept a near-death grip on Alex's arm as Alex twisted and spin her fingers causing the fire circle to grow to cause the rats to back away from her.

"Get in the circle it scaring them away!" Ava called as Mikey was flicking rats off his shell.

"The fire is working," I said.

The Guys came closer to the fire circle and jump in it, the rats squeak and ran away. The creature roared in dismay, as the rats ran back to the holes.

"Turtle is off the menu!" Raph yelled kicking one.

Alex flicked her wrists which causes the fire to disappear.

"No!" The creature growled and jump into the pit. He growled at us, weapons at the ready, Leo throw himself into the fight. The creature grabbed Leo's wrists and flipped him over and into the ground with a deafening thud. It stepped on Leo's wrists causing Leo to cry out in pain.

Casey yelled out his catch phase and attack the creature himself, with Raph aiding, the creature kicked him in the chest causing him to crash to the ground. As Don, Mikey, Alex, and myself launched an attack. The creature lifted Casey and threw him into us knocking us to the ground. The air left my lungs, pushing myself back up. As Leo tries to kick him, the creature jumps out of the way and kicked Leo in the chest, sending him flying. Casey when to hit but the creature flipped up and landed on Casey's back and pushed off onto the wall of the brick tower and looked down at us.

"What's the deal with this freak?" Casey asked

"I don't know but I feel like I've seen these moves before," Leo said.

The creature looked at us again, landing in the middle of us, and kicked out hitting both Leo and Raph. The Creature easily wiped the floor with us. Fighting a groan as the rats started to come back.

"The rats are coming back in," Leo said.

"Then it's time we bust it out!" Raph yelled looking at the cracks from Mikey hitting the wall.

He took off running towards the wall, making Mikey freak and jump out of the way. Raph broke through the wall, Alex grabbed and pulled Ava through the hole with the others following quickly.

"Nice going bro I always said you were thick as a brick," Mikey said gently tap Raph's head.
Raph growled at him.

"What happened to ugly?" Raph asked.

The creature ear piecing scream alarmed us to him followed by his laughing.

"That laugh is oddly similar," Alex said. "Why can't I placed it?"

Looking up to see him standing on the tower. He jumps over us and again looked down at us.

"Gotta admit the dude has some sweet moves," Mikey said.

"Focus Mike." Alex groaned.

"I've had enough of this madness," Leo growled pulling out throwing stars and threw them. The creature took them all down with one landing by Mikey's feet. The creature laughs again but suddenly fell. "It's over let's get out of here."

"Yes, please," Ava said walking after Leo. An explosion to the building next to us, yelping in pain before dropping in pain. I could hear Alex groaning next to me.

"Tabs you okay?" I heard Ava asked.

Slowly pushing myself back and coughing, seeing that Leo was still fighting the creature.

"Look!" Don said.

Seeing Leo chasing the creature.

"Come on!" Raph yelled.

The rest of us ran after them, finding Leo and the Creature going at it.

"Leo," Don said.

"Stay back," Leo growled. "He's mine."

We watching as Leo and the creature going at it nonstop. Both of them growling nonstop, with the creature soon laughing again.

"That guy is cracked," Mikey said. "We can't leave Leo alone with him."

"We don't know the limits of his strength and skill," Don added. "Even with the seven of us."

"If Leo gets in trouble I'm the first one in there," Raph said. "But right now it looks to me like Leo's got more than one monster to work out of his system."

Both Leo and the creature even headlong into the fight. He threw his sword which the creature caught it and Leo sucker punch him.

"Go, Leo!" The guys yelled.

The creature got back up and walk back into the shadows. Which Leo stood at the ready, as a metal chain flew out. The creature appeared using the chain as a weapon keeping up with Leo. A rumble sounded causing the ground to shake. Looking up to see a tower coming towards us.

"Guys get out of the way!" Leo yelled.

Running to soon be covered in smoke, glass, and brick. Coughing quickly took over. As the smoke cleared to see the damaged that happen.

"Leo!" Mikey yelled which echoed.

"Mikey watch your step," Don said.

Glancing down to see piles and piles of rats.

"Wow, it's rat's central," Mikey said.
Ava screamed this time, gripping tightly to me as we looked down.

Glancing up to see that Leo and the creature were still okay but looked ready to keep fighting.

"Leo let's go!" Raph yelled.

Leo looked back at us, putting his swords away, and jumped over.

The creature growled and shook his fist. The platform it was started to shake and fall apart. He jumps heading towards us. Pushing Ava away.

"Look out!" Casey yelled.

The creature landed on Leo and started to pull him to the edge.

"Got ya," Raph said grabbing Leo, "Leo hold on."

We grabbed on each other, and Raph pulled both Leo and the Creature up. Leo gave a swift and hard kick and sent the creature into the pit of rats. He cried out as the rats overtook him. Mikey gave a fake puke as we walked away heading to the battle shell. We climbed over or jumped the fence.

"Hey I still got the bandanna on," Mikey said. "It's been what like 45 minutes easy I am the stealthiest heavyweight most ninjaest turtle of all time."

Raph pulled the bandanna off and hit him with it.

"Ow." He cried holding his arm.

"Well did you enjoy it, Ava?" I asked as we walked into the apartment.

"It was somewhat fun," She replied. "But there were too many rats."

"It happens unfortunately sometimes," Alex said.

"I was wondering if I could get a pair of those winged shoes." She asked.

"Maybe," I replied. "You want to play more of those games and hang with the guys?"

"Yes." She replied with a bright smile.
