Chapter 81: Omake Oasis 3 / Extension of Evangelion

Omake #8 – Sister Seeks Sibling (Canon) – Gilbert and Rei – (During events of Chapter 76)

(Cerulean City | May 19th | 6:00 p.m.)

"Mr. Oak, you got a visitor." Nurse Joy said as in walked something he did not expect to see come for him.

Rei. Honestly, Gilbert did not know what to think, but his face soured.

"Came to laugh at me?" He asked her.

She hugged him instead expressing clear worry for his safety, something that he had not excepted.

"You may be an ass, I may hate our parents, but you're still my little brother." Rei said holding him tight.

"You're the only one that actually visited." Gilbert said weakly.

"Figures that they wouldn't have figured. Father's ego and mother's drunk behavior." Rei said sourly.

"Considering you hate me, this is…"

"Don't. I don't hate you, in fact…I blame myself for that. After hearing you were injured, I dropped everything to get to you. I got two trainers I'm mentoring waiting for me back in Johto, but I told them to wait because of a family emergency." Rei affirmed. "Because I feel like shit for not being a better sister and getting you away from our parents' influences. I was only focusing on saving myself."

"I could have been better…honestly, looking back, I've been a major shitheel like my father…and look where it's got me. No real friends. And Crimson, he's basically exploded…far from the person he was before. I had time to think…and I….I want to apologize, but I don't think he'll even want to hear it." Gilbert admitted.

"Maybe if you come back a better man you will." Rei suggested. "I didn't come to visit, I came to get you."

"To go where exactly?" He asked her.

"Cianwood City, Johto Region. There they have the best in medicine. I'm taking you there to get treated, and I'll cover the costs." Rei said as tears came down Glibert's eyes. "I'm not leaving you behind…never again."

Omake #9 – For the Love of the Ikaris (Canon) – Asuka/Shinji – (During events of Chapter 76-77)

(Goldenrod City, Johto | May 19th | 7:30 p.m.)

Asuka sat out on the apartment balcony overlooking the city of Goldenrod. Johto really was rather pretty place to gaze upon at night. The apartment did not belong to her…she wished. No, the owner was Rei Oak…though the people of Johto knew her as Rei Ayanami. By chance, she came across their small wedding back in April. Rei had a stint in Pokémon Tech before graduating early to flee Kanto. Rei had known the two in their younger years and glad to see them again. She had left them with a gift and an offer to for her to their mentor. They would ultimately accept later on and they had traveling together since Rei returned from vacation.

Asuka looked fondly upon the wedding band on her finger, happy to be Mrs. Asuka Sohryu Ikari. She ditched the Langley to spite her father before cutting ties with him for good. She was all the happier for it. She got up with a stretch before waking up her Typloshion, Blitzkrieg.

"Come on, you can't sleep outside." Asuka said as they went in.

Shinji was cooking dinner to which she savored the smell. He always did cook well, and she could never complain about his meals. His Weavile was setting up the table.

"Dinner's ready." Shinji said as he was hugged from behind.

"You think Rei's all right? She was really scared there about her brother." Asuka said concerned.

"I just got a call from her not too long ago. He's alive, and she's taking him to Cianwood. Or at least she's sending him there before coming to get us." Shinji said as Asuka perked.

"Cianwood's got a gym, right?" Asuka asked.

"It's on a little island off the coast of main Johto, coastal really…with a nice beach." Shinji said as Asuka looked excited.

"Finally, I've been itching to go to a beach. We're still in the honeymoon phase after all." Asuka said with a grin as she took a seat to get served dinner. "A shame we can't get Slowpoke Tails to eat. But Tepig stew will have to do."

He put the food out for the Pokémon before she and him let the rest out. Their personalities could be told by the teams they had. For Asuka leading with the explosive Typloshion, tearing through the air with a Skarmory, brutalizing foes with Machamp, terrorizing the seas with Sharpedo, and pissing off people with Miltank. Her most recent capture…a Pinsir from the last Bug Catching Contest chirped happily.

Shinji led with a gentle Weavile, gracefully commanded the skies with a Xatu, had Poliwrath to ride the seas, a Banette that used to represent his withdrawnness, Meganium showed he'd bloomed, and Arcanine to show his burning passion.

They had doted on them all, nicknames and all. As they began eating, Shinji's cell rang. He took it up and got a pensive look on his face.

"Something wrong?" Asuka asked. "C'mon, don't be all quiet about this, dork."

"My past just caught up with me." Shinji said before answering. "Hello…father."

Shinji let his father speak and he clearly had not changed. When Gendo was done, Shinji took a deep breath.

"Father? There's something I should do before giving you an answer." Shinji said before hanging up.

"Ha. Nice one, but isn't he…" Asuka said as Gendo called back.

Shinji answered with, "Oh I'm sorry, I just wanted to piss you off before I cut you off for good.", and hung up before blocking the number and turning off the phone.

"I guess we're really on our own." Asuka said forlorn.

"We're not. I still have Kensuke and Toji. We both have Rei and we could always pay Misato a visit. Don't even forget about Joe and Rusty." Shinji said as Asuka blushed.

"Damn it, now all Rusty is going to do is tease me by calling me, 'Mrs. Ikari'." Asuka said as Shinji and a few Pokémon chuckled.

"And thus, the life of the Ikari family goes on. I pray for the kids those two will have…" Blitzkrieg thought as he ate.

Omake #10 – Family Dynamics (Canon) – Misato/Lt. Surge – (During events of Chapter 68-69)

(Surge Residence, Vermillion City | May 13th | 8:00 p.m.)

[Cues: Neon Genesis Evangelion OST – Misato]

Vergil was a perspective teenager who found himself with that sad fact that her mother could not cook. He had to learn how to at a young age to keep himself from getting food poisoning. So, when Misato said she made dinner, Vergil and his father were promptly considering running out through the window.

"Misty doesn't have to put up with this…" He thought.

Her and him did were friends over similar interest…and being military brats. She had occasionally called him up to chat…and he had called her a bit more often seeing she was mixed up with Crimson. Surge was sneaking to the door.

"And where do you think you're going? Get in the kitchen!" Misato said coming out in an apron and spatula.

"Yes, Misato-chan/obasan." Husband and son said as they walked to their doom.

What they found was surprising. It was rice and curry piled with fired meat…and it was not burnt, stale, blackened, and looked EDBILE!

"I finally found a recipe I could cook…it's a Galar treat. Fried Curry and Rice!" Misato said putting a plate down. "Well, dig in."

Surge and Vergil shared a look, gulped, and took a bite. Realizing that they were not vomiting violently, the two silently took the blessing and kept eating as the television droned namely about Joe fighting Zapdos. Pen-Pen, the Empoleon, waddled into the room taking a beer out of the fridge.

"Pen-Pen! Not my Yebisu!" Minato whined.

"As if I'd drink that. I stick to the local brew." Pen-Pen muttered.

"So, what do you think?" Misato asked her boys.

"It's really good. And holy shit…!" Vergil said seeing the replay of Joe's fight with Zapdos. "Isn't that one of Crimson's running buddies fighting Zapdos?"

Surge and Misato whirled around to see the tail end of the camera caught before the reporter explained that the camera exploded and that no one knew if Joe won or not.

"Damn! Zapdos was hanging around there all this time! Tucker, I fricking told you and you laughed me off!" Surge said annoyed.

"Maybe Zapdos got away?" Misato said getting her husband's hopes up.

"Yeah because…it's a legendary Pokémon and he's a rookie. I doubt he caught Zapdos…still he gave a hell of a fight." Vergil said assuring his father.

"Yeah…but I doubt Zapdos is going to be at the Power Plant now." Surge muttered as he ate.

[Music Ends]

Omake #11 – Advancing Ahead (Canon) – Toji/Hikari – (During events of Chapter 76)

(Kassai Institute, Six Island | May 19th | 2:00 p.m.)

"Joe, I should have called you sooner. I am so sorry I didn't…" Toji said as both he and Aida looked guilty.

"Dude, don't be too hard on yourself." Joe said. "Not like we're family."

Kensuke and Toji were in one of the teleconference rooms with Kensuke 'borrowing' the services to call up Joe.

"But we are all we got, you know?" Kensuke said forlorn. "I mean aside from Hikari, me, you, Toji, Sakura, Shinji, Rusty, and even Asuka…we don't exactly got parents in our lives. We were just dumped at that dumpster of a school."

Suzhara and Aida technically had dads, but neither were in the picture…and worked for Gendo.

"Hikari Horaki, right? Shit, she goes to Kassai now? We only had her around for one year…she still have that crush on Toji?" Joe asked as Toji revealed that they were going out. "Good for you. You can double date with me and Sissi."

"Still can't believe you nailed that French hottie, though." Toji said feigning jealously.

"By the way, I need to ask. Did you catch Zapdos?! We saw the fight, and I have to know!" Kensuke asked eagerly.

"You are looking at Zapdos' champion and handler." Joe said proudly as the two looked shocked by it.

"Dude…tell me you ride it into battle!" Toji demanded.

"Nah. I've not used in an actual battle yet…I kinda want to build my team first." Joe said sheepishly.

"It's fine, it's a legendary after all." Toji remarked. "By the way, we're actually on way to graduating soon. Me and a few others qualified for early graduation by the end of May."

"You, Toji? Ok, you had to have battling with no losses for that!" Joe said with a snigger.

"I'll have you know I only had five losses in Kassai." Toji boasted.

"Look, regardless. Sakura's due to stay for three more years, and tough guy Toji hesitant to leave his sister." Kensuke said as Toji play punched Kensuke's shoulder. "Point is, when we all graduate…we need to all meet up for a party to celebrate that we're all still here. And we're planning for it to be in Viridian City, because where better than where it all began."

"Frankly, I would be cool with that. Keep me posted." Joe said with a tired look. "Later guys."

He hanged up as Toji and Kensuke were quick to leave. Heading to the quad outside, they joined Hikari under a tree.

"Hey Hikari." Toji said kissing her cheek as they sat down.

"So, how'd it go?" She asked.

"Perfect. No one saw us and Joe's down for a party once we graduate." Kensuke said with a sigh. "But man, what an insane life he has traveling with that maniac."

"Tell me about it. If you can strangle and maim once of the world's notable supervillains and get her traumatized enough to not even want to be on the country you're on, then you are completely nuts." Hikari remarked deadpan. "I almost feel bad for Shego."

"I don't."

They looked up to see Spinelli, the American import kid.

"She's had coming for a long time." Spinelli said before walking away.

(A/N: Evangelion's been on the mind, I've been watching the series lately. This omake special was a bit of practice to get the feel of the characters some more. I find a charm to them, and I'm even warming to Asuka as a character. Next chapter, we continue the plot! Fun fact, I know I called Vergil a young man, but I never did explicitly stated his age. Given Misato's age, he'd be about the same age as Misty.)
