Tom watched the trees as they passed near the woods outside of the city. Watching this, he recognized the direction they were going. He knew they would pass near the base of the organization. He thought about it and wondered what the name was. None of them ever said anything about it. He was so lost in his thoughts he almost didn't notice when the truck suddenly stopped. Tom turned towards his mother and realized what was going on, "Mom?"

"I'm… okay. I just need to walk a little. I need to be outside," His mom was sweating a lot as she replied; she was also paler than before.

Remembering what they had just been through, Tom nodded. "Okay mom."

The two climbed out of the car.

Seeing Tom and his mom stop Kaz pulled over and wondered what was going on. Watching the two stepped out, he noticed Tom's mom shaking a little and holding herself carefully; he knew this might take a moment. Kaz stopped the car and went outside while his mother remained inside.

The creatures were uncertain of what they should do, but remained in the vehicles and waited, listening.

Annie raised her hand. "I'm… okay." she walked a little as she tried to take deep breath. "This… I thought it was over."

Tom hugged his mother, "It's not."

Kaz didn't know what to say. He was still a little shaken up about this, but his experience in Chaotic pretty much made it easy to get over it or hide it.

"Thanks Tom," Annie said as she hugged her son, "Just give me a few minutes."

"We've gone far enough. You can recover," Intress told her.

Arias crossed his arms, "That woman is so shaken up with this." He wasn't insulting her or criticizing her. In fact, he was impressed. A civilian human who managed to do all of that when facing great danger. He knew it was a first for her, from her reaction. He remembered his first battle against the Underworlders and he had ended up a little like her for a minute.

"Once we are safe, you really need to tell me everything that is going on, because my parents will want to know the answer too," Annie told him.

"We will," Tom promised. He knew she would believe him when he told her everything. He wondered if he would end up in big trouble, but he realized he didn't really care about it. They were in a dangerous situation and not yet safe.

She calmed down and nodded, "Okay. I'm okay now. We should keep going. Tom. Call them and tell them we'll be there soon."

They returned to the vehicles and continued driving further from the city, now under control of the M'arrillians.

Chapter 80: Welcome To The Farm

It took a moment to reach Tom's grandparents' home. It was a large house in the middle of a large field. As summer was approaching, they could see the crops growing up.

It was only his grandparents here, so they didn't work the farm that much. They slowed down as they approached the house.

The creatures observed the field. The Overworlders found it very similar to the farms they had in the Overworld, but less crowded and much larger for one family.

As for the Underworlders, they made no comments. It looked similar to those their tribe raided on occasion.

They stopped near another truck and climbed outside. Meanwhile the front door of the house opened and two old people greeted them.

Tom's grandfather was a white man with short gray hair and blue eyes wearing a brown shirt with blue jeans and a necklace with a cross on it.

His grandmother was a white woman with blue eyes and long gray hair held by a pink ribbon, wearing a blue dress.

The only one in his family who didn't have blue eyes was his father. As far as Tom knew.

"Hello everyone," his grandfather said before spotting the creatures. He was immediately cautious when he saw them jumping off the truck and climb out of the car behind them.

His grandmother frowned at the four strangers.

Annie quickly came to them, "Mom. Dad. We'll explain everything," she sighed before adding, "I'm so glad we reach you."

Arias took out everything out of the truck, just like Rothar and Agitos in the other vehicle.

"Who are they?" Intress asked as there wasn't any presentation given.

Kaz and his mother joined them.

"They are my grandparents. Donald and Justine. Grandpa…Grandma, these are Intress, Arias, Agitos and Rothar." Tom said, pointing at each creature, "And you remember my friend Kaz right?"

Donald asked, bewildered, "Was is going on?"

"We heard that something bad happened in Summer Vale. We were so worried for you," Justine added.

"You did call and tell us you were bringing…. special friends…" the old man didn't add anything else.

The situation was more than awkward. Creatures from other worlds meeting his grandparents combined with the fact that they probably knew nothing about Chaotic was going to be tough.

Annie explained everything she knew about the creatures to her parents and Tom did the same about the world of Perim. Kaz added a little more about the Underworld with Cassandra adding some information occasionally.

The old couple had difficulty accepting the whole thing, but just once glance at the creatures was enough to tell them otherwise.

After explaining about the other world and convincing them that the creatures wouldn't bring any harm, it was time to explain other things.

"And what is going on in the city?" Donald asked, concerned.

The group were now sitting near the door of the house. Everything had been brought inside and the food had been put in the freezers and the fridge.

Tom was the first to explain, "It began in Chaotic. The place where we play the game…" Tom searched for the best way to start, but he didn't know everything.

Agitos coughed and got their attention, "I'll explain that. You don't know, but we were suspecting that the M'arrillians might attack Chaotic soon."

"Chaotic… is the place where you go when you enter those… codes right?" Justine interrupted, looking for clarification.

"Yes grandma. I don't know how it works, so I can't tell you more than that," Tom said as he scratched the back of his head nervously.

"Anyway. There were a few soldiers present when they came, but everything soon turned into a large battle, but they escaped to your world, the Cothica," Rothar said. Everyone who didn't know what the Cothica was lost. Both Tom's mother and his grandparents.

"The Cothica is… Well…" Tom wasn't certain how to explain that.

"They think it's Earth," Kaz interrupted, deciding to get it over with.

"Earth?" All the three adults of Tom's family were confused.

The two teenagers and Cassandra explained briefly why they thought they came from Earth.

Once they were done, Cassandra concluded, "It's all because of my best friend's father's invention. It all began with that."

The teenagers nodded nervously.

"The Mess-"

"We will explain everything before we bring more detail," Tom quickly interrupted Agitos. There was too much to deal with already.

Tom's grandparents gazed at each other. They weren't certain what to think or say about the situation.

Donald pushed that aside, "It is hard to believe, but with those four with you, I can't doubt your words. And with the news, it's best you stay here for a while."

Justine stood up, "I'll prepare something for dinner. It is getting late."

The others gazed at the sky. The sun was setting, turning the sky orange.

Annie stood up, "Can I use the phone? I need to call my husband."

"No problem."

The woman followed her mother inside the house.

Donald asked the creatures, "And how is it going in town? If you left that quickly… I don't think it is in good shape. Am I right?"

They nodded.

Agitos raised his hand, "From what I saw, the M'arrillians quickly took your kind under their control. For a city that size, it might cause a lot of damage."

"That town is fairly small," Cassandra replied.

"S-small?" Agitos asked, confused.

"What do you mean small. It looks a little smaller than Kiru City," Arias replied, confused as well.

Curious, Intress asked, "If you consider this city small… Then the large cities…"

"Some are immense," Kaz replied. He didn't enter into details. It was boring to watch them, but when comparing size, they were larger than Kiru City or Underworld City.

"How many humans are wandering around?" Rothar asked.

"I don't know. Last time was around…8 Billions," Donald replied hesitantly.

"…E-eight… Billions," the four creatures said together.

It was a number they could barely understood in their minds. That there were so many was a little scary. Humanity had managed to have so much more in terms of raw numbers when compared to the five tribes of Perim together. They just couldn't understand how it was possible.

The four sat down as they finished processing that information.

"So… many humans. That town looks big… but it's small," Rothar whispered.

They thought there were less humans with what they saw in Perim and Chaotic but no. The reality sank in the; it was just a small group of humans who went to Perim.

"You should explain more while they are inside. I'm sure there is a lot you want to say, but you think I can't take more? I was in the army. I had to learn a lot in a short time," Donald let out a small smile before snickering.

Tom and Kaz continued to explain everything. The old man noticed that the mother of his grandson's friend seemed to be uncomfortable, "Are you alright Miss Kalinkas?"

"Oh. I was attacked by one of them and my ankle still hurts," she gestured and showed him her ankle, "Forgot about it when we escaped the M'arrillians."

"We should wait for later. Come. We'll treat that before it gets worse," the old man invited her.

"Thanks," Cassandra replied. Her son followed her into the house.

Meanwhile, Annie was on the phone, "Yes honey. We made it to my parents' home. No. Everything was okay in the end. I ran over the leg of one of those jellyfifh monsters," she sighed as she recounted what happened, "You had to teach me how to drive like that," she nervously chuckled, "it saved our lives."

Her finger rolled on the phone line as she listened to her husband.

Her mother watched from the side as she prepared dinner. It was a lot, but she was happy to cook for them, as well as the creatures who helped save her family's life.

"What are you going to do now? I know you can't approach them because of their mind control and… Hum… You can tell me? What did Tom do?" Annie grumbled, "Oh," she calmed down, "He had to keep a secret no matter what. That's why he was nervous for a while. Like someone was stalking him… I thought it was something else that. Damn, I should have seen something," Annie put her hand on her forehead, "Okay. I won't be mad at him. He had no choice. Okay. Okay. You are watching them from the satellites," as she said that Agitos passed near the door, overhearing her, "Okay. If they come, you call. Yeah. I really wish I can see you honey. Don't worry. We'll be fine." With that Annie hung up.

"What is it?" Justine asked.

"Tom signed something with the organisation dealing with the creatures. Don't have the name of that group. Anyway, the military are keeping a watch over the M'arrillians via satellite. They didn't try to go outside of town yet. He said they know nothing of our world. He also said that they are searching for a way to protect their minds and said that somebody is preparing for that in Chaotic and… this is so confusing," Annie sighed.

"What is a satellite?" Agitos asked curiously.

"Something you won't really understand. It's a device use for communication, spying, etc. It's located very high in the sky. You can't see them, but they can see us. They are keeping an eye in Summer Vale. They will call if they're making a move," Annie answered.

"Fascinating," the blue underworlder commented.

"You should call the others. Dinner will be ready in a few minutes," Annie told the two.

"I'll… I'll go," Agitos left them.

"You are getting use to this quickly," Annie commented.

Her mother chuckled, "Not really. I just know they won't trouble us. They came to save Tom and Kaz. It's best to treat them as guests. At least they aren't like when you and your sisters were kids. That was nightmarish to handle."

Annie blushed at those old and barely recognizable memories, "Right. You're right," she let out a small smile as she prepared the table.
