Day 3 - 12:30 PM

Sesshoumaru was about to lose it. The stack of papers that simply kept growing was becoming the bane of his existence. What was the point of having trusted generals and secretaries if they did not make his life any easier? He scowled as another demon brought in even more papers that needed his attention.

He tried to look at the upside. At the very least, secluding himself in his chambers meant that Arisu could not bother him. Not that it stopped her from sending him messages via his servants, but still, he would consider that a win.

His mokomoko shifted a little and he swore he could almost smell her. That had been another positive, he had been able to keep her off his mind for at least a few hours while he worked. The only caveat was that the second he had a moment to think, his thoughts turned to her.

He needed a break. He loathed this part of his job, it was the reason he delegated most of it to Takashi. Speaking of which, he needed to talk to him anyway.

His door opened and another servant walked in with more papers in hand.

"You, bring me Takashi." The servant bowed and quickly left in search of the general.

'He is dead the second I get my hands on him.' He thought, looking down at the Tenseiga.

Only a minute or so had passed before he heard a knock at the door.

"Enter." He said.

"My Lord, you wished to see me?" Takashi asked, bowing down to him.

"Enough. You would do well to remind me why I should not kill you now, Takashi." He said.

"If you did that, who would you have left to call a friend?" Takashi asked, standing upright and giving Sesshoumaru a look of abject horror, his hand over his heart.

"Takashi.." Sesshoumaru warned.

Takashi snickered and made himself comfortable next to Sesshoumaru. "Oh please, I was only following orders, you know that." He said as he grabbed a stack of papers and started working on them.

"Yes, and remind me, whom do you serve?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"You. But when you are not here, I serve Lady InuKimi, by your decree might I add." He said.

"Be that as it may, you knew why I was summoned, and yet you chose to lie to me." Sesshoumaru argued back.

"Ah, ah, ah. I did not lie. I simply omitted the truth." Takashi defended. "Besides, I was unsure exactly how much I was allowed to disclose given the ...company you had."

Sesshoumaru growled a little.

"Which actually reminds me, I have a few questions regar…" Another low growl cut him off. "Nevermind."

He said instead.

"You shall not speak of it to anyone. Understood?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"Yes, milord." Takashi said in all seriousness.

"I do have one question though." He amended.

"Ask." Sesshoumaru answered. The simple fact that Takashi was not berating him with questions was enough for him to grant him one.

"Did you lose control?" Takashi asked, his tone grave.

Sesshoumaru looked down at his general, and the one person he considered a true friend. "Yes, but she helped me get it back." He said before shoveling more papers into Takashi's face.

Takashi looked at him in awe and nodded. He would not be getting more information than that, he was sure. They continued to work in silence, it was amazing how much work piled up when you ignored it.
