Chapter 83 – The Party Goes On
The party continue through the night. The music was playing and some people were dancing, including Han who was having fun with his daughter Iris, twirling the girl around, who was laughing happily, being watched by Leia on the table who was loving the scene.
"I think what you and Han did was amazing, taking that little girl and adopted her" Lando said smiling
"We couldn't let her be alone." Leia replied to him
"Her brother saved my life." Wedge said sadly.
"And I will thank him forever." Prim looked at her husband
"He did what he did on my wedding day because she threat her, the poor guy didn't have a choice but, he did the right thing. If he didn't told me about her plan, who knows what would happen to my little boy" Luke said looking at his boy, who was in his arms, happily sucking the bottle that Ines ask to warm up at the kitchen of the event since it was time for his milk.
"Do you still breastfeed him?" Prim asked Ines
"Yes. I still have milk for him and the doctor told as long as I have it to continue to do it and I love breastfeed him. When we have these events I pumped the milk and it is a way for Luke to feed him."
"But we already giving him some food. Since he is 5 months he already can eat some food besides milk so we already give him some puree and fruit puree that he loved, especially Shuura puree" Luke smiled when he felt Ben's little hand holding the bottle. "And that is the only change I have to feed him and be this moment between us, of course is not the same when is Ines. After all you all saw when he was hungry he tried to go to his mother and touch the breasts."
"He knows where his meal comes from" Wedge laughed.
"Smart kid" Luke laughed too
"Watching both of you as parents is so unreal. After all a year ago we went through so much but I'm so happy to meet that little guy"
"A year ago someone propose thanks to me and my pilots" Wedge said making everyone laugh
"That's right" Leia smiled
Han came and sat on the chair with his daughter jumping around
"Please Iris, let your father rest. He is not your age anymore. He is an old man now" Lando laughed making Han looked at him
"Hey, who said I'm an old man?"
"Look at you now?" his friend told him making Han frown
"Father one more, please" Iris smiled jumping
"Okay kid that is it, turn around, I want to find the switch to turn you off" Han said turning her around and tickling her making the girl laughed.
"Sweetheart let your father rest. Do you want to go the bathroom?" Leia said standing up
"Yep"
"I'm going too" Ines said standing up
"Me too if you don't mind" Prim stood up
"Typical. I wonder why the girls go all together to the bathroom" Wedge said making the guys nod
"To talk bad things about you guys" Leia said laughing and they left, leaving the guys alone.
"Those girls look beautiful in those dresses." Lando said as he watched them leave
"Lando give it up." Luke giggled
"Speaking of that, when is your wedding. I can't miss it." Lando looked at Han
"Leia and I want to married next year. We are thinking during the summer, who knows maybe a year from today. Leia still have her senate business."
"Will you marry here?" Wedge asked him
"We wanted to married in a place that it is special but we don't know where yet. We are looking but we wanted a place outside Coruscant"
Luke was looking at his son, whose eyelids started to close little by little, and stopped sucking his baby bottle teat, which Luke removed slowly, but his son continue to sleep indicating his belly was already full. Then he had an idea
"I think I know a place that is perfect and very beautiful for your wedding" Luke said to him
"Really? Where?"
"In Varykino, in Naboo, where Ben born. The place is beautiful and trust me it would be perfect for a wedding."
Han thought of that
"Well I need to talk to Leia about it but she is eager to meet your mother planet so I think she wouldn't mind at all"
"You won't regret it"
"What about you Lando? When you will settle down?" Wedge asked making Han laughed
"This guy, getting married? I would like to see that"
Lando shook his head
"I prefer enjoying my life without compromise, if you know what I mean. Besides I don't want to break the hearts of the ladies out there if I get married, like you two did when you decided to stay with Ines and Leia. You have no idea how many girls get sad when they find out you are married and you will get married"
Luke and Han looked at each other and laughed
"You know I can do the same thing you do with those girls with Ines right? And trust me I'm really okay with that" Luke replied
"I knew you were that type of guy Luke. Is this guy who really got me, knowing him from old times!"
"Hey, I just find the right girl that I wanted to be with" he said.
Hours Later:
It was getting late and Luke, Lando, Han and Wedge were at the bar, talking and have some drinks.
"General Solo!"
Han turned and shook the hands of General Rieekan
"General, it is so nice to see you" Han smiled at the General
"Me too. After Hoth we barely saw each other. It is good to see that everything went well" he told them "Commander Skywalker. I knew about the baby. Hope he grows up in a strong boy like his parents"
"I retired from my military life. Now it's Jedi Knight, future Jedi Master. And thanks General"
"Right" the old General smiled "Captain Antilles. Congrats on the wedding"
"Thank you" Wedge smiled at him
"General let me introduce you to my friend Lando Calrissian" Han introduce Lando to General Rieekan, who shook Lando's hand
"General Calrissian, finally is a pleasure to meet you. I wasn't present during the Battle of Endor but I heard a lot about you"
"Thank you General and I hope it was good things" Lando smiled at him.
"Always. It was nice to see you all my friends"
"Same General" Luke smiled at him as the old General left. As the General was walking away, Luke smiled vanish from his face when he saw Fayet Kelen. Han noticed this and looked at the 50's year man, who was walking in their direction.
"Relax my friend" He told him
As the tall brown hair and brown eyes man reached them, he looked at them
"Gentleman" Fayet said
"Mr. Kelen" Luke replied
The old man looked at him and nod
"Skywalker. Long time we don't see each other"
"Yes sir" Luke told him "How is everything with your business?"
"It is doing great actually" He told him.
There was an awkward silence for a while, when Leia approached them with Iris on Chewie arms sleeping. The poor girl was tired from dancing with 3PO and R2 and even riding Chewie's shoulders. Ines followed having a very grumpy sleepy baby in her arms that when he saw his father he extended his little arms towards him. Picking him up, Luke rest him on his shoulder, once he did that Ben's blue eyes started to close while sucking his pacifier.
Once Fayet saw Leia he smiled towards her
"Princess Leia, so nice to see you"
"Mr Kelen, so glad you are here today" she smiled at him
"I couldn't miss it" he said
Leia look at Han
"I think it is time to go home, it is almost 2 in the morning and this one already had to much fun for the night" she pointing to her daughter. "Do you want to stay?"
"No, I'm going with you too" he said and saying goodbye and hugging Wedge and Lando, Han wrapped his arms around Leia's shoulders and look at Luke "Are you coming?"
"Yes we will go in a minute" he said and looked back at Fayet "Mr. Kelen was indeed good to see you here. I know you don't like me because of the death of your daughter. Believe me when I say I still blame myself for that all these years"
Fayet looked at Luke and then to Ines and to the baby sleeping in Luke's arms
"I don't hate you. I know you couldn't do anything to avoid Nakari's death and the fact you did everything to bring her body to her family so we could mourn her, it meant a lot. I wish the best for you and Ines to raise that baby well"
"Thank you sir" Ines told him
Smiling with a nod he left, leaving Luke watching him
"How are you feeling?" Ines asked him
"Relieve to be honest" Luke told her "Let's go home"
Ines nod and they head to their apartment followed by R2.
