I do not own the PJO characters. So I was supposed to post this yesterday but my laptop died and I still don't have a cord of my own so I'm going to post it now.
We plugged into darkness. When it cleared up we were at Half-Blood Hill. "Is that fast enough?" I asked Damian with a little laugh.
"A little too fast," he laughed.
Once finished laughing, I looked over the camp which I didn't even recognize anymore. Cabins were barely standing, the Big House porch was covered in armor and weapons, no demigods were playing outside and having fun, the lava wall was lavaless, there were weapons spread across the lawn, and the strawberries were dead or wilting.
I walked down the hill to the lawn. I fell on my knees and felt the long, uncut grass. "What happened?" I asked Damian as he stood beside me.
"Monsters came looking for you Trish, we weren't strong enough," he said sadly.
"Wait, I don't remember you being here when I was here?" I said looking up at him.
"Yeah, I came a short while after you… left. I didn't know who you were but I kept hearing stories about the cursed one. There were definitely different opinions about you here. Anyways, I knew that you were the only camp's hope of staying so I searched for you. I came back here about a month ago with a lead. People heard that the giants were moving you to their, what they called the base, so I moved quickly and as quietly as possible, I told no one where I was going and didn't trust anyone. When I finally found you I was so overjoyed."
"Hey?" I said.
"Hmm?"
"Who's your parent?" I asked.
"Hephaestus," Damian said.
"Makes sense how you got me out of that ice then," I muttered.
"Yeah, other than Leo I'm the only other one who can create fire."
We stayed there looking over the camp for a few more minutes until Damian suggested going to Chiron. I was nervous but also glad that I was back.
The first one to spot us was an Apollo kid, I didn't recognize them but they know who I was. They rushed into the Big House and came back out with Chiron and a few others.
"The cursed one has been awoken!" Chiron yelled, " Nico was right after all."
I couldn't help but smile through the tears slowly falling down my face. "Please don't call me the cursed one sir," I said, wiping some of the tears off my cheeks.
"Damian," Chiron said, "go blow the horn. Trish, you come with me, we have many things to talk about."
Chiron led me to the Big House porch and cleared some of the weapons off the table so we could sit. "I'm sure Damian told you about the camp?"
"Yes," I said.
"Good. We're glad to have you back. We will contact Sally, she's been watching after your sister since you disappeared."
I gulped. I wanted to see Coral but I promised I wouldn't leave her and I then ended up leaving for 5 years.
Suddenly a horn blew three times and people in full battle armor came rushing out of their cabins. I stood up and Chiron led me over to the steps of the porch.
I perked up as I saw the Hades cabin door open. I held my breath as I saw a dark figure along with a bright yellow figure pop out of the door.
People began walking over to the Big House and the looks on everyone's faces were a mix of shock and happiness.
I looked around but couldn't spot either of the Stoll's, I was starting to get worried. I already lost Jamie, I can't lose my brothers.
I forgot about the Stoll's once I saw the face of the son of Hades. With Stygian in my hand, I ran to where Nico and Will were standing. I didn't care if Nico didn't like being touched but threw Stygian off to the side and tackled Nico in a bear hug.
"T-Trish?" He muttered.
"You knew, you knew I wasn't gone," I said. I looked up into his dark eyes. "I'm so so so sorry," I cried, hugging him tighter. I backed away to look at him better, that's when I noticed something around him one finger.
I gasped as held up his left hand, I stared at them with my mouth open. "What is this?" I questioned.
"He's all mine," Will said, putting his arm around Nico which made him blush.
"When did you guys get married!?" I asked a little too excitedly.
"A little over a year ago," Nico muttered.
I looked at both of them and wrapped them both in bear hugs. Once I let them go I picked up Stygian.
"I believe this is yours," I said with a smile as I handed the black sword to Nico.
"H-how did you get out?" Nico asked, admiringly looking at his sword.
I looked out over the large crowd that was staring at me and found the mop of brown hair I was looking for. I pointed at him and lifted him out of the crowd and brought him over to where I was standing. "Damian found me," I said as I gently placed Damian on the ground next to me.
"Wait did you tell her?" Will not-so-very-well whispered to Damian.
"Yes he did, but we are not talking about that, I'm in a good mood and I might explode again," I said trying to smile through it. I saw Damian scoot away from me a bit.
I scanned over the crowd again looking for two heads of curly brown hair but I still didn't see them. "Where's Travis and Connor?" I asked nervously.
"They're Okay, but Connor finally decided to go to college Travis went to visit him for this week but Travis will be back next week for spring break," Will explained.
"Move aside!" I heard some yell, I knew that voice. Clarrise walked up to me and looked me up and down. "So," She said, "the son of Hades wasn't full of crap was he." She smiled. She met my eyes, "Hey, girly," she smiled.
"Wow, the daughter of Ares does smile," Damian jokes beside me.
"Hey!" Clarisse yelled and punched Damian in the arm.
"Clarisse! Don't punch him! He was the one who found me," I said.
"He wasn't the only one who found her," someone whispered. Everyone gasped. I just pretended I didn't hear them.
"Okay, so who's going to take me to Connors college?" I asked.
Will stared at me. "Why don't you wait until next week, we can talk some more, how about that?"
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why would you even suggest something like that?" I asked a little too loudly. For some reason I became angry. "You might have had to deal with losing me," I said, my voice deepening, "but at least you could see Coral grow up, at least you were able to send Connor off to college, AT LEAST YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE GUILT OF THE ONE YOU CARED ABOUT MOST DIED TRYING TO FIND YOU!" I screamed.
I felt a firm hand land on my shoulder and it took the breath out of me. I looked beside me to see Damian's hand on my shoulder. I don't know why I was so surprised or why I didn't shrug it off but I just stared at it. The darkness began melting away and I sank to my knees. "Please just take me to my brothers," I mumbled.
"Yup, I knew she would lose it," Someone in the crowd of people said.
I don't think Damian was having any of it because he went over to whoever said that and punched them straight in the nose.
"Damian," I said standing up, I walked over to the boy who had just been punched and knelt beside him. "I'm sorry for him, but you shouldn't say stuff like that about people, especially within earshot of that person. Now, may I please see your nose."
"No, you freak!" The person snarled.
I raised my eyebrows at him. "You want him to punch you again," I said pointing up at Damian, "or do you want me to gently heal your nose?"
The boy wasn't very happy about the threat but he lowered his hand. I gently put two fingers beside his nose, making sure I didn't touch it, and in no time the kid's nose was as good as new.
I stood up and brushed myself off, I then smiled at Damian who smiled back. "If you two are done, I can drive you," Nico said.
"Really!?" I said excitedly.
"Yeah, if you want to see the terrible two, then we have to get going."
Nico and I started walking to one of the vans, I turned around and saw that Damian wasn't following. I pointed at him and once again, floated him over to me.
"Why do you keep doing that?" He asked.
"It's just easier to do that than calling for you," I explained.
"Well I didn't think I was allowed to come," Damian said.
I set him next to me and we walked side by side while Nico walked in front. "Well, you're going to have to learn something very quickly, when I'm attached to something, I'm attached to it."
"Hmm, I guess I'll just have to get used to it then, won't I?" He draped an arm over my shoulder that I found reassuring.
"Well you're the one who decided to save me," I smiled.
Thanks for reading! Hope you liked this chapter. This is probably the last chapter for today though, but don't worry, I'll be posting tomorrow too.
