There's calm chatter all around the restaurant but they're quiet, enjoying the food for now, mostly tired after a long job.

Fon pauses and pats himself on the chest. There's a muffled clearing on his throat. He sips some water.

"You good?" Colonnello asks, cheek propped up on his palm.

Fon smiles a bit sheepishly and waves him off. He places his fork down and stands up, walks around to the back of his chair and does a quick but forceful rock forward, hitting the hollow of his stomach on the backrest.

Verde frowns. "Are you…trying to do the Heimlich manoeuvre on yourself?"

Skull blinks. "Isn't that for people who are choking?"

"Fon, are you choking?" Lal asks in confusion because he's really a bit too calm for someone who can't breathe right now.

Fon shrugs a bit and then finally admits it with an embarrassed nod. Viper reaches over and smacks him on the back a bit but it's Viper's weak noodle arms and it's Fon's ripped body and it doesn't do much.

Reborn stands up and walks over, Fon meeting him halfway. Reborn gets him into a back-hug, places his fist thumb-side in against the hollow of Fon's stomach and locks it in with his other hand. Reborn does it at half strength and Fon doesn't even move. Reborn tries again harder a few times and nope, Fon isn't really feeling it.

Fon looks very apologetic about all this but his face is turning a bit red form the lack of air.

"Can you use your Storm flames?" Colonnello asks, getting up for a try.

Fon shakes his head because he tried that and it burned the inside of his mouth so he doesn't want to tempt it with something more delicate.

Colonnello doesn't do much better than Reborn and at some point all the Arcobaleno cluster around Fon.

"Take a knee," Lal orders. "I'm going to hit you."

Fon obligingly gets down on one knee, shuffling his long top around so it doesn't drag everywhere.

A waiter hesitantly steps closer. "Is…everything okay?"

Lal grabs Fon by the shoulders and rams her knee into his chest. Fon coughs out the bit of food stuck in his throat and gasps for air. "Thanks for the assistance."

"No problem," Lal says, pulling him up. "Be more careful when you eat."

The waiter, and about half the restaurant looking on, are incredulous.

"Can you put this back?" Fon asks, holding his dislocated arm.

"Sure," Verde muses and feels around the socket. "How did it happen?"

"Landed a bit wrong this morning."

Verde checks a nearby clock. "That was an hour ago, minimum."

"My kicks did need some practice."

"When I win, can you make me that noodle dish? The thick noddle one?" Reborn asks, glancing over at the other as they start warm up stretches out in the backyard.

Fon rolls his shoulders with a smile. "And if I win?"

Reborn puts his hands on his face and uses a bit of Sun flames to make a blush. "Oh, well, I suppose if you win, you can use me." He winks. "However you want."

Fon purses his lips. "Actually I would rather prefer that you make those chocolate filled pancakes again."

Reborn wiggles his hips. "However you want."

Fon sighs. "Yes, I heard you the first time but I don't really want to-"

"Oh no!" Reborn cries faintly and theatrically falls to the grass. "Oh, my leg. I've sprained it!"

"Can you sprain a leg?"

"I can do anything if I put my mind to it." Reborn spreads himself out on his side, head propped up in one hand. "Oh my, I guess can't fight anymore." He puts the back of his other hand to his forehead. "I must forfeit."

Fon is already walking away.

"Fon!" Reborn complains, holding the pose. "Fon, come get your prize!"

Viper purse their lips from the spectator fold out seats. "You know, technically Fon has stepped out of the area, and so Reborn has actually won."

Reborn flops back onto the ground. "Fon, my body is ready!"

Lal shakes her head. "I don't think anyone wins in a situation like this."

"We're going to be late," Viper tells Luce over the phone. "You and the others can start without us."

"Oh, we can wait for you two to come," Luce assures them. "And…what is that noise in the background?"

Viper looks over their shoulder and sighs. "Someone ran Fon over with a car and he took offence to that."

"Is he…smiling?"

Viper purses their lips and turns away again. "I'll be honest with you, Luce, I don't think anyone can call that expression a smile."

"Okay, we'll start without you."

"Probably for the best."
