Astro had been to war before. He knew what it was like to feel that creeping tension before the battle. That tingling before the violence and bloodshed that broke out. But right now… he didn't feel any of it. He knew everyone else was tense, and they had every reason to be. It was almost dawn, and he had no doubt that his uncle would be showing his face on the battlefield soon, with whatever forces he brought in tow.

Everyone was doing whatever they could to prepare themselves for the onslaught to come. Whether it was checking over their armor and weapons, mentally hyping themselves up, or joking around with their fellow warriors to ease the tension. Everyone around him was doing something. But not him.

He just sat at the head of their forces and waited.

He wasn't afraid. He wasn't worried. He was… calm. He wasn't sure if he should have been concerned about that or not. "You sure you don't want to get any rest before the battle?" Sarasim asked, walking up beside him. "You should still have a bit of time before they arrive, and you'll need all the strength you can save."

The young king shook his head. "I'm fine."

Sarasim didn't look all that convinced. The fact that he had just been sitting there silently was off putting to her. He was usually more active before battles. More tense. Why in the world did he look so… well, peaceful. She was about to speak to him again, but suddenly Nia came running up beside her brother. "You feel that?!" she asked, grabbing her sword.

For a moment the elder knight looked confused, but then she felt what Nia was talking about. A intense, horrible, malicious magical aura. She grabbed the handle of her weapon and narrowed her eyes as she saw a winged figure appear in the distance. Python made his way towards them, and a wave of panic spread across their forces. A number of knights got up, and the arches and magic users took aim.

But then Astro held his hand up. "Hold," he ordered. Everyone paused, but there was clearly still panic spreading among them. Hands shook, knees trembled, and beads of sweats dropped to the ground as Python landed in front of their king. He towered above his nephew, an un-amused look on his face.

Sarasim grit her teeth as she tried to steady herself. The amount of dark magic pouring off of him would kill a normal mewman. It felt suffocating just being in his presence. He was clearing letting it flow purposely. Trying to intimidate him. And she had no doubt for most of the warriors behind them, it was working. She wondered how Astro and Nia managed to stand before this one, along with the others, and not be fazed by the magical pressure alone. "Nephew…" he greeted, nodding.

"Uncle…" Astro said, glaring back at him.

Python looked over towards Nia, who narrowed her eyes, and then at the rest of their forces. He let out a chuckle. "I assume that you heard the warning I gave yesterday?"

"I did."

"And I also assume that you're not here for an unconditional surrender?"

"Only if you're the one offering it."

Python snorted. "Every bit the stubborn bull headed fool your father ever was," he said, shaking his head. "And just as reckless. Throwing away the lives of your so called subjects all due to some twisted sense of duty to a people who aren't your own. All it would take to save everyone and avoid bloodshed it-"

Astro cut him off. "I didn't come here to be lectured by you. And If you're here to offer one final chance or some such nonsense, save it. You're not willing to work with me, and I'm not surrendering. So it's war. Simple as that," Astro said. "You hurt my friends and family, and you're going to pay for it. No more talking, no negotiations, no final chances. I'm going to defeat you, get my father and the court back, and put an end to all of this nonsense."

Python stared back at him blankly. The way Astro spoke with a tone of absolutely authority. As if what he was saying was a foregone conclusion. It wasn't unlike his brother, and it honestly pissed him off. "I wish you good luck in the battle to come nephew," he said, turning to leave.

"Don't want it, don't need it, didn't ask for it."

Python snorted and then took off into the air, going off into the distance once more. "Is it wise to just let him go? This might be the only chance we have to take him down while he's separated from the others," Sarasim suggested.

"We'd never take him down before the rest of his forces got here. It would just lead to unnecessary casualties. We need to take his forces down before we get to him and the rest of the Ten," Astro said before grabbing Black Bane. "Speaking of which, brace yourself. They're coming."

Everyone suddenly heard a comment, and felt a tremble through the ground. They could see figures begin to make their way over the hill in the distance. Quite a few more than they had been expecting too. Astro narrowed his eyes. There weren't just the monster rebels and wayward tribes among them. There were also a number of rotting figures and skeletons. And he could sense dark magic sprinkled throughout their ranks. They were using necromancy to even the odds number wise.

Astro looked over his shoulder towards the others. Everyone was bracing themselves for battle as they watched the oncoming army approach. "Get ready everyone! Bring down every last one of them! And more importantly, survive!" he shouted before running forward. Everyone else shouted and began running after him.

He jumped up, and Sear rushed underneath him, catching him before zipping far ahead. Nia had flown after them, managing to catch up to her brother and his steed. They were quite a ways ahead of the others, but they needed to be for their opening attack. "Are you ready?!" Astro asked, holding Black Bane up.

Nia nodded. "Yeah! Let's do it!" she said, grabbing the wand.

They both swung, and their magical power began to spike. They had been working on this for a while now, and while it wasn't as perfected as they would have like, it would be more than enough for this. "Cross Spell, Ice Age!" A glowing bone chilling wind surrounded both of the siblings before shooting forward towards the enemy forces.

It washed over them, freezing everyone it touched in their tracks and causing a wall of jagged ice spikes to shoot up into the air, sending others flying in different directions.

Sear came to a stop, and Astro swung his arm and sent a wave of ice out towards them. Nia waved both of her arms, sending a wind out which spread the effect of her brother's magic. This wouldn't take out any heavy hitters, but it would pick off some of the weaker ones and disorganize them before their own forces caught up.

Python watched from above as his nephew and the Butterfly girl continued on with their attack. Their wide scale assault would certainly thin the herd a bit, but that was fine. They couldn't keep this up forever, and when the inevitable chaos happened, he would send in the real forces. The past would quite literally be their downfall.

As Astro and Nia kept on the attack, the two of them couldn't help but take note of the much larger magical powers hanging back. They could tell two of them were Galahad and Meissa, that much was certain. But there were a few others too. Three of them were far too familiar for their liking.

The Queens must have been here, and they were probably going to arrive soon...

"Hold the line!"

Fum shouted as he and his brothers slammed their hands down on the ground, sending walls of earth up to shield them from the onslaught of boulders and ruble that had been sent their way. The giants, Jagur kingdom forces, and Queensguard forces had all been noticed the enemy forces long before they even got close.

There had been a large burst of earth magic, and suddenly an absurd number of golems began to sprout from the ground. Most of the behemoths had started lumbering towards them, while others picked up chucks of the earth and began throwing them. Fum and the others giants had left another room between the walls for their troops to see and move through, but tight enough to keep the debris from hitting them.

"Fo, get those golem in the back out of commission! Or at least soften the earth enough that they can't use it!" Fee shouted.

Fo scowled as he kept his hands placed on the ground. "Give me a minute, I'm working with a lot of land here!" He tightened his grip on the ground, and then let out a breath. "Mud Pit!" A quake went through the ground, and suddenly the golems near the back of the group began to sink down. Fo smirked. "Alright, got the ones in the back!"

"You can't just sink them all?" Fi asked annoyed.

"The hell do you want from me man?!"

From far off in the distance, Matrona watched her descendants at the base of the mountain. There was a wide smile on her face. "Ah, so that one is good at earth magic huh? Very nice!" she said before raising her own hands up. "But, you're going to have to do a little better than that!" She slammed her hands down, and suddenly the ground began to solidify once more.

She had been surprised to see her tribe along with the royals forces at the base of the Jaggy Mountains, but it wasn't an unwelcome one. Just crushing the royals wouldn't have been much fun at all. A necessary but boring task. At least with her descendants here things would be a lot more interesting.

"Wait, are those my boys over there?!"

Matrona looked over her shoulder towards one of the giants Branch and Kruger had brought back. She hadn't known this one, but she knew since she had been brought back she must have been particularly strong. "Your boys? Wait, are you talking about my descendants?" Matrona asked, tilting her head.

Dolores beamed as he looked across the battlefield, just barely catching a glimpse of her children. "Oh my gosh, Fee has gotten so much taller! And look and Fo! He can use my magic so well! Fi has so many scars now!" she said, growing teary eyed. She then spotted the youngest of them. His armor was different, but the resemblance was uncanny. "That must be the baby! He looks big... healthy…"

Matrona smirked. "So, those are you boys huh? Well you should be proud. You've birthed quite a group of talented warriors. This will be one hell of a reunion," she said.

The twin giants nearby looked excited. "Mama! They look strong! I want to fight them!" Gorge said, looking like a bull ready to charge.

"Yeah! Let's go fight them!" Mountain shouted.

The smallest figure among them, so small she would just be mistaken as a small mewman, pounding her fist together. "I am sort of tired of sitting here. I want to bust some heads already. You dragged us back from the dead, so might as well enjoy the wake up call," Pebble said.

Matrona held her hand up. "I know, I know. But let's wait just a bit before we take the battlefield. It wouldn't be very sporting or fun if we just showed up and ended it right from the start," she said. She watched as they lowered the wall of and began charging towards the still upcoming golems.

The giants had all quickly made their way ahead of the other mewmans and monsters in their ranks, save for one anyway. Vincenza yelled as she sped ahead of everyone else. She reached the first golem, turning into a blur as she rushed up it's legs and sliced it apart with her scythe. The golem stumbled to the side, and she rushed at it again and kicked off of it, sending it crashing into a few others.

She landed and then turned around to see another golem looming over her, but when it raised it's hand to strike at her, Fum rushed in and swung his hammer, smashing it apart. "Be careful Vincenza! Try and stay close! I'll make sure you don't get stepped on!" he said nodding towards his lieutenant.

Vincenza nodded back towards him. "You watch my back, and I'll watch yours!" she said, raising her scythe and rushing in again. Fum let out a yell and rushed in again, his brothers all at his side.

Matrona's smile widened. All of her descendants were impressive, but the youngest one… there was something special about him. She was going to keep a close eye on him throughout this battle.

Tor stood with his arms crossed as he watched the enemy forces approach. He, along with the other forces sent to defend the Johansen Kingdom, had spent all night setting up defensive measures around the kingdom. Now they were going to see just how well they were going to hold.

The leader of the minotaur, Bluno, and the septarian tribe, Draco, were at his side. "Looks like some of the smaller septarian tribes have joined with them. Will your people be alright against them?" Draco asked, the young boy crossing his arms.

"We know how to kill sepatrians kid…" Draco looked over and then saw Twister, who had a glare on his face. He was more than ready for the fight to come, especially if the septarians were going to be involved. It was the only thing allowing him to stomach working with Draco and his tribe.

Tor looked over his shoulder at his brother. "All the citizens are held up near the castle, right?" he asked. Twister nodded. They had wanted to make sure they could escape quickly through the portal in the castle in case they breached their defenses. He had asked Misty to stay back with them. Partly so someone was there to look after Sauce and her family, and partly because… he didn't want her on the battlefield.

"Man, there's a lot of enemy forces over there… we're gonna fucking die, aren't we?" Gale asked, slinging his spear over his shoulder.

Bluno laughed. "What a glorious death it shall be!"

Gus looked nervous. "Seriously? I wish I would have told Reishi before I left then…" he muttered. If he was going to bite the dust here, he might as well have gotten everything off of his chest.

Tor scowled. "We're not gonna die you morons," he said before raising his hands up. "We're gonna fight, and we're gonna win. So brace the hell up. I don't want a single enemy getting inside the kingdom gates. Now let's go." He took in a breath, and then suddenly let out what sounded like a bird call.

For a moment there was nothing, but then they heard flapping in the distance. They heard a number of shrieking cries, and a flock of winged figures came down from the clouds. "We're gonna show them why the hell you don't fuck with the Johansens…" Tor said as the giant eagles dived down and soared over the enemy army.

They had all been carrying nets that held a number of barrels, and when they got close enough they let go and began dropping them. When the barrels landed, they all began exploding, and Tor smirked as he watched the enemies fly about in confusion. The eagles managed to grab a few people, dropping them as they soared back up and out of harm's way.

In the chaos, a number of enemies managed to keep charging. But they quickly fell as pitfalls began forming in the ground. Tor pulled out his sword and then began charging. "Don't give them a single fucking inch! And if you die with a clean blade, I'll bring you back and kill you myself!" His brothers and the rest of his allies shouted and followed after him.

Up above on the hill, watching the two forces begin to clash, Echidna hummed. "Well, it seems the Johansen's have evolved from the straightforward brutes they were in the past. They even tamed the eagles…" she muttered. "But it doesn't matter. They'll be crushed all the same."

"Don't underestimate my kingdom, you witch." Echidna looked over towards Baron, who was scowling at her. "We're far more capable than you savages. Capable enough to turn your own against you from the looks of it. By the end of this I have no doubt they'll have you wretched head on a pike."

Beside him, Venom growled. "Watch your tone fool. Neither you nor your filthy descendants is worthy to even be in the presence of Lady Echidna." This was the Queen of Monsters. One of the most powerful titans to ever exist, and Python's right hand within the Ten. While he had been rather disappointed to not be at Python's side himself, it was no less of an honor to work with her.

"Your loyalty is appreciated, but unnecessary Venom," Echidna said, turning towards Baron. "By the end of this someone's head will be on a pike. But it's very unlikely to be mine. And let's hope that your assumption on your descendants is right. Otherwise… well, they're going to die either way. But it'll be all the more awkward if you end up killing them."

Baron glared at her, but then another voice spoke up. "I couldn't care less how capable they are if I'm being honest…" Both Baron and Venom turned towards the third figure in their midst.

She had brown sheep-like eyes, medium brown skin, and long jet black puffy wool for hair that covered her head, wrists, and legs. She had cloven sheep legs, sheep ears, and a fluffy sheep tail, and a layered worn out katwise coat and patched up purple sarong skirt. She wore a golden hoop earring on her left ear, a golden bangle on her left wrist, and a matching bracelet and anklet on both her right hand and right ankle. She had a thorny wooden bracelet around her right wrist and multicolored hair wrap extensions in her wool.

"I'm more than happy to be part of slaughtering the Johansen's. But I am wondering where everyone else is," she said looking towards Echidna.

The Queen of Monsters hummed. She knew that by 'everyone else' she really just meant Branch. She was trying to be subtle about it of course, but she couldn't blame her for wanting to see him and demand an explanation. Branch had been hesitant about bringing her back, but Python had insisted her talents would be of use to them. "They're where they need to be…" Echidna said simply. "But don't fret Imena. Once we finish here we'll meet back up with them."

Imena didn't seem entirely satisfied with that answer, but it wasn't like she was able to really do anything about it. Besides, as much as she wanted to see Branch again, she was almost just as eager to tear down the kingdom before her. The Johansen's had been largely responsible for the slaughter of her people, and she was going to take her revenge on them.

Slick yelled as he cut down one of the wooden figures that had been marching towards the Spiderbite kingdom. He spun his spear around and sliced through another row of them. The moment he had seen the enemy forces in the distance, he had charged in without a second though, and the rest of his forces had followed.

He didn't see where Branch was, but he knew he had to be here. These plant things running at them along with the rebel forces had earth nymph magic written all over them. Another of them rushed at him from behind, but Arty leapt in and cut it down with his halberd. "Nice, keep it up kid," Slick said. Arty nodded back and continued the fight.

Up on the walls of the Spiderbite Kingdom, Reishi took aim with her staff and sent steady rain of fireballs at the backline of the enemy army. There was a line of mages and archers along with ehr firing as well. "I better get paid extra for this…" she muttered.

Branch observed closely as the prince continued cutting down the wooden dolls he'd crafted. Creating and sending more would be little to no effort. But eventually he was sure he would have to step out and deal with the slime king himself. He was far stronger than the others, and he wasn't sure even the warriors he had with him could handle him.

"One of mine is down there…" Branch looked over towards the large horned blue skinned figure beside him. She looked rather angry, her gaze locked onto the young tiefling fighting next to Slick. "They must have brainwashed him. Let me go and recover him. I'll slay the leaders as well."

Branch shook his head. "Just wait. We'll have our chance…"

"I really wish I didn't have to be here for this," a small, tiny figure said as they were perched on top of Branch's shoulder. It was a Brownie, who didn't look at all the content to be here.

"I know. If it was possible I would have avoided any of this. But it's a necessary evil, and when this is all over you can all be laid back to rest," Branch said simply. He honestly didn't like using the dead to bolster their ranks either. But the sooner they won this battle, the sooner they could put an end to it all.

Morel frowned as he swung his arms, sending a wave of blades at the possessed corpses, shredding them down. He did his best to take down as many as he could before they reached their side of the battlefield. A few feet behind him, Corona fired blasts of her own. "Once they reached us, I'm going to put up a healing barrier around the battlefield," Corona explained.

Morel hummed. "No complaints here." He knew it was unrealistic, but he didn't want anybody on their side to die defending the Cloud kingdom of all places. He sure as shit didn't want to die here either. "By the way, have you seen-?" Puff charged forward, not even thinking twice about barreling himself into the enemy lines. He yelled out as he swung and stomped his way through the front lines. "Oh, there he is…"

Jackson Ponyhead, the former prince and now acting king, looked at the goliath and whistled. "Damn, that guy is crazy…" he muttered.

"Yeah he is. But he's also our heaviest hitter here, so go back him up!" Morel said flying in to go help his friend. Corona began forming a barrier around the battlefield as the others charged in. Everyone under it would be steadily healed from any potential injures, which he was sure would be many in this situation.

Gadfly laughed as he watched from a cloud up above. "Ha! So they got one of the goliaths in their ranks huh? Look like you might have a bit of fun after all, big guy," he said, looking to the towering figure beside him.

The goliath scowled as he watched Puff rampage. "Hardly. He is nothing but a runt. One who has fallen so low as to serve under the feeble mewmans," he said angrily. He was going to make sure to crush him, and crush him thoroughly. Though he might leave the finishing blow to someone else. He didn't feel the need to honor such a pathetic member of his race with a killing strike.

"Don't worry about it Janek. We're gonna have our time soon enough, and… you know what, screw. It doesn't feel like waiting for this shit. We can at least start crushing some of the straggling in the mix. Let's go!"

Ar-Janek smiled as he watched Gadfly zip down to join the fray. He raised his own weapon before jumping down after him. One again, the Tyrant would be allowed to storm the battlefield.

Hody growled as he pierced through the chest of another rebel. Their initial clash with the Ten's forces had been… less than ideal. They had stationed most of their forces on the beach, and he'd tried to gain a quick advantage by having him, his sister, and a few others manipulate the water to go over them and swamp them as they approached.

With a flick of her hand, Scylla had turned it right back on them. She was hanging back for now, but he could still see her. Standing with a smug look on her face as she watched the rebels and undead forces she'd brought with her try and push them back. "Die you royal scum!" Hody turned around and saw beastkin rebel rushing at him.

He prepared to fight him off, but suddenly Lenora rushed in and knocked the rebel aside. She turned and growled towards the acting king. "Pay attention fish face! I want my dad and I to have to pick up your slack!" she snapped.

Hody glared at her before turning around and knocking an undead warrior over, quickly stabbing it in the chest and ending it. "You need to be the one worried about not slowing me down!" he shouted back angrily.

"Is this really the time for this?!" Maria asked, waving her hand and using a whip of water to strike another enemy. Once they hit the ground, Snapper ran over and then chomped down on their neck. "Let's focus on fighting the enemy, not each other!"

Scylla watched contently as they kept on fighting. She had no idea how that asshole had managed to survive their last fight, but she didn't really care. It just meant she got to beat him down all over again. "So, their family is still around…" Kamon said, sounding rather disappointed.

"Not for long," Scylla said. The moment she took the field, she was going right after the new 'king' and his sister. And this time she was going to finish him off for good.

"I wanna hurry up and go! I'm bored!" a small child-like figure carrying a large anchor over their shoulder. Scylla rolled her eyes. She really hadn't been eager to bring this waterfolk brat with her, but there wasn't really any other place she could have used her full potential here.

"Stop whining pipsqueak. You should be eager about slaying our own people," another figure said, looking irritated. He was another waterfolk, and was carrying a trident and wearing what looked like royal armor.

Scylla sighed. "Both of you shut up. We won't be sitting on the sidelines much longer."

"You keeping up alright?"

"I'm fine, worry about yourself."

Margo and Higgs stood back to back, fighting off the horde of undead that had marched towards the Lucitors castle. The swordswoman cut down everything in their path, not wanting to let a single opponent break through the line. The rebels were far more hesitant about approaching them, but the mindless undead kept rushing at them like paper to the shredder.

A ways away from the two, Breeze swung her fist. It struck one of the oncoming enemies, and the force took the entire top half of its body off, and sent some of the others behind it flying. She quickly turned around and kicked another back, sending them crashing into more of their own allies. "Does anyone see Kruger?!"

"You'll know when I see him!" Topaz said, knocking a demon rebel demon to the ground with her mace. "Because I'm gonna knock his fucking head off!"

Kruger could see the battle with his third eye. He let out an amused chuckle. "So, they went to the Fire Nymphs for help. I'm more than a little surprised…" Both by the fact they were willing to work together, and that… well, the fire nymphs present seemed to be more than the hotheaded savages in his time.

"Wait, with the Lucitors?" Phyra asked wide eyed. That was… that was nuts. She knew Cole had been talking about peace relations with them, but had he actually been able to pull it off? "Hold on, is he there? Is Topaz…?"

Kruger turned towards her. "If you're worried about any potential family down there, I'm afraid I wouldn't know who's who. And even if I did, I couldn't promise the safety of any of them," he said.

"There's no need for you to anyway. Such traitors deserve whatever fate come to them, even if it's at the hand of demonic scum such as you," the largest of the fire nymphs said, crossing his arms. Phyra glared at him, while the others looked at him with indifference.

Sun had been known in their tribe's history as the mightiest of warriors. An unstoppable force on the battlefield, and someone who was unequaled in combat. At least until he had met his fate at the hands of Branch anyway. "I see why Branch wasn't thrilled to see you. You fire nymphs and your lust for combat and needless loss of life. It's despicable," Kruger shaking his head. "It's no wonder you're fallen so far."

"You're in no position to talk, traitor," En said, glaring at him. The former demon blade wasn't happy to be under the thrall of the most infamous figure in his kingdom's history.

Magman pushed her glasses up. "Things certainly have changed since we've been gone," she said, looking curious.

"Blah! Blah! Blah! You all talk too much! There's a battle going on, and I say we go in and join it!" Bang yelled, beating his chest. "C'mon, let's go!"

Kruger hummed. "Perhaps your right. There's no point in delaying this any further than necessary, is there?" he asked, grabbing his blade. "Let's make ourselves useful…"

A/N: The battle kicks off all across mewni! The Ten are are jumping in, or planning to soon, and brought the warriors of the past in tow! They're going to have to fight their way just to get to them, which is gonna be a whole different beast in itself! Argus is controlling the dead, and the others are leading them. But... where are Kyu and Orthrus? Huh...?

I thought it would be better to show it starting in all the different areas before I started focusing on them one by one. I didn't introduce everyone at every battle site, but I do know where I want everyone to be, so they'll make their appearances soon enough. Some reunions are gonna be up ahead, and some battle for both main and side characters! I hope you guys are looking forward to it! I think each of the area might be a couple chapter long since ideally I want to give depth and attention to each of the fights.
